I really don't know Jane. She has'nt mentioned that. She says her house is always cold. They don't have central heating only a rayburn in the kitchen. I did wonder if an antihystamin may help but I don't know what other things she is on. She has been to the docs many time and she also has phlebitis which she has had for years now. She is the same age as me and her birthday is on mid summers day. At the mo she still has no energy. She has given up smoking for 5 weeks now and still she coughs.

Morning All :-)
And a bright sunny one it is too!
It's a shame your friend Di can't do her job any more Mel. The doctor doesn't seem to have found out what the problem is yet and she shouldn't be as tired as she sounds. Maybe he is still doing tests.
Poor Fitz Jane. It seems since he had problems and needed that last operation it has affected his leg and ankles quite badly. I hope you manage to sort out some suitable shoes today! We all seem to be getting mobility problems one way or another, what with hips, knees or ankles! :-S I bet Hannah and Gareth are busy today, but quite excited as well. Best wishes to them in their new home! <3
I have just been out to feed the azaleas their feed and have also watered fertilizer into my pots and put down some slug bait and put ties on the tomatoes. I could feel sweat trickling down my brow by then so have come in now for a cuppa.

Good Morning Ann and all, evening Kim.
Went to the pub last night, got me away from BGT and the soaps. here were only three of us sat at the bar until two families came in from the canal. They were so lucky as the place is normally busy. One chap ordered a round of drinks for the adults and children came to almost £30.00. But from what was said they were going to split the bill. Mass's of food was ordered and came out looking great. As I ate at lunchtime, I could have easily ordered a meal. :-P :-P :-P But the size of the plates of food I would never have eaten it all. !!
Very warm day here. Ros is at the Scout Hut today with Stitchery-Do. So won't be home till after 3,00 pm. I will do a bit in the garden, then get my new lounger out and get a bit of sun.
What are you all up to today ?? Whatever it is enjoy it. See you later.

I did a silly thing this morning. I loaded myself up with birds food and fat things. Went down the steps to the lawn and tripped. Went flying down the lawn, packets of food everywhere. Fortunately I didn't go over, but jarred both my knees, that are quite painful now. I should take my time and use my stick !!!
Ros is back from Stitchery Do, and gone to the Drs to take the scripts. and pick some cream up that she needs.
Still very close here, with warm sunshine. I haven't lain out in it again today. It's a bit to warm.
Pork steaks with Chinese marine aid, Jacket potatoes and Corn on the cob for dinner tonight. Will have that when it cools down a bit.
Have the greenhouse and pots to water also later.
I bet Harvey Julia and Lewis are feeling the heat down in France. Harvey will be inside with the Air Con on. He can't stand the heat.
My Son Simon will be enjoying this weather on his canal boat. I think the reason they bought it is they have both done a lot of holidaying abroad. With the Narrow boat, they can travel parts of England they have never seen, and at only 4 mph can really see the Countryside. He seems so relaxed with his way of life and with his new wife.
Ros has gone to do a bit in the front garden. The sun is in the back now, so will be a bit cooler.

It's very hot here now!! After lunch I went out to go to a few garden centres. The first was packed with cars parked down the road to it so I gave up there. The next has a lot of plants in greenhouses so rather than pass out in the heat I gave that a miss too!! In the end I called and got a Mars Ice cream and sat in the car having that and read my magazine. I got too hot in the car then so came home. :-S
There was an article in the Mail and our local paper today about a couple who had both been found dying and then died at the scene in their own home in Rugby after paramedics had arrived. There was mention that it might have been a suicide pact as the woman was in a wheelchair having had a severe stroke a while ago. OH said he knew the woman, who had attended several meetings he's been to. She used to be a Headmistress and was a former Canon in Leicester.
OH is worn out after digging out some of the palm tree stump in the front garden and is writing up some of his notes now!
Oh Frank, did you tell Ros about your almost fall? I was going to ask you how your new knee was doing now, but obviously the jarring didn't help! I think I would be with Harvey inside with the air con in France! When we took the caravan years ago, we were on a site next to the Dordogne river. It was sweltering and I would keep walking into the river up to my knees to cool the blood!
I wonder if Mandy is frolicking in the pool yet!! :-D

Mandy better frolic today as I think there is rain on her way tomorrow and thunder maybe too.
Its hot here and I have just finished washing all the hog bowls that have been hanging around. Now I am going to renew the newspaper in the arc where I feed the and then go and feed my strawberries and go up the border and bung a couple of plants in.

Afternoon all
Nice and sunny here.
I'm still feeling a bit dizzy so thought it best to keep away from the computer screen, so I haven't caught up with any posts yet. The sickness has finally gone thanks to the tablets the doctor gave me and the antibiotics are starting to work so hopefully I'll feel much better in a day or two.
I'll catch up with the posts as soon as I can, hope everyone is okay <3

Afternoon All Yes it is really hot here too. I started cleaning the wall to floor tiles in the main bathroom but didn't get too far as I was just too hot. I got some more Geraniums this morning for a couple of pots on the patio. 3 for £5 which was a really good price. THis was at Tesco. They were right on the bottom rack of the stand which was a bit awkward getting down to.I must have looked a sight as I have to bend down with straight legs astride !Also hanging on to my handbag which was swinging around my neck LOL.
This morning I was hanging out the washing and Thomas appeared beside me from the hedge.I was just going to give him a stroke when I noticed he had a Baby Rabbit dangling from his mouth :-S.He was going to put it down and start eating it but I managed to shoo him off back under the hedge with it.
Frank, when will you learn !!!!. How many times have you gone A over T because you have too much in your hands and not your stick :-S :-S.. I bet you kept that quiet from Ros :-D. Hopefully you haven't done too much damage.
Gill,I am glad you are beginning to feel a bit better today :-D.Tomorrow even better still . Ann, I haven't had a Mars Ice Cream for a long time. What I did have today though a Chocolate covered Pistachio Ice Lolly :-D.That was nice.
Mel how many Hogs are with you? I haven't seen fresh signs of our one recently, although it had made a right mess on the patio when we were away in France :-S
I think we may get some rain and possible thunder too tomorrow. The garden is so dry ,even with a good watering every evening.I can see Chris watering the veg now.
Ann it is tomorrow I go with Fitz to Padders.I am beginning to wish I hadn't offered now as I can see him driving me potty lol.It also gets extermely hot there which will make me tetchy.I'm not even sure if they will have the right kind of shoes he is looking for. But it is worth him checking it out.
I expect Hannah and Gareth will be moved in now and totally cream crackered. Having to haul EVERYTHING up the flight of stairs will have been quite a job. I meant to ask if they had any friends to help.I will message her later just to check all went well. I won't ring tonight.Speaking to her Mum will be that last thing she wants today :-)
Deboned Chicken tonight(my fav from Waitrose :-D). New Potatoes ,Asparagus,Runners and little carrots.

It is a big window isn't it Mel. I love that big window seat . It looks as big as a single bed LOL.I don't know if that room is the lounge or a bedroom.I am guessing the lounge. She did say that they can see Alexandra Palace from the back windows.
Just done Thomas's flea treatment on the back of his neck. He nearly clawed Chris to bits while I did it. He doesn't have the knack of holding him in the right position :-S.. One angry puss now!!. But it needed doing as it was time and he has been scratching at his ears. All those rabbit fleas no doubt.

Well I have sat through part of BGT. but my patience ran out,so out of the way till 10.00 pm when it's all over and Corrie.
I see we have lost another, Alex Gilroy from Corrie. There seems to be a lot of them in the last couple of weeks. I hope it's not catching . ;-) ;-) ;-)
Don't envy you Jane going shopping with someone for shoes. Wouldn't he be better going on line to look at what he wants before dragging round the shops.
Ann, You did the right thing getting an Ice Cream and going home. I for one wouldn't have wanted to go round Garden Centres in this hot weather.
Everywhere has been watered, boarders and beds, together with the patio and hanging baskets. It's surprising how long it takes, I bet the water meter was going round like mad. I did as much of the front garden as I could, but madam was still working on the flower beds, so I left her to water that while I got dinner ready.
Ros is at the hairdressers at 2.00 pm tomorrow. Nothing planed for the 3rd. But I am taking her out on Sunday.
I mentioned that I didn't want to go to Devon, so she said she would't go either. I said you go and have a "GIRLIE WEEK AWAY" so we will see what develops. It will be nice for me to have a week not having to do anything, I don't want/need to do. LOL
Going on eBay for a while, see you in the morning.

Jane I know that stance well! I have to do that and bend over when I try to plant anything in the garden or do any weeding. lol :-D As you say, when you are shopping there's the handbag to contend with as well and even if you flip it round across your back before you bend, somehow it always ends up swinging around your neck to the front and gets in the way!!! Those geraniums sound a reasonable price. I need a few more bits and might go out early tomorrow before everywhere gets busy. OH wanted me to go to Melton with him in the morning as he has a meeting there, but I don't fancy walking far and have seen most of what there is to see there now. Hannah does look small in that big window. The flat looks clean and airy. Now they just have to sort out where their stuff all goes. I have just joined a site called 'mybuilder.com'. You just put your postcode in and the work you want tradespeople to do and it matches you with vetted tradespeople in your area. There is a photo and a bit about them next to their names, length of experience, qualifications etc. You invite the ones you want to give you a quote and they then phone you if they want the work. You can see their reviews next to their names to help you choose and you leave a review on the site if you have them to do work. We now have someone coming on Sunday to quote for the pointing up of our wall where the bees were. :-)

Would Ros trust you on your own for a week Frank ;-). I wouldn't mind if Chris wanted to go off on his own somewhere for a few days or even a week. My friend and her OH each have a week away on their own .They have done it for years ,but then also have a big holiday together.I see nothing wrong with couples having seperate breaks.Chris has been to Suffolk a couple of times on his own. I think it can just give a bit of breathing space sometimes.
We still haven't had dinner. It is all cooked and ready but neither of us are that hungry yet. James had his ages ago.
Frank I am only going to one shop with Fitz for shoes. That will be enough lol. They have a coffee shop there so I can always take refuge there if needs be :-D
We have a water meter but have never activated it . It would be going off the clock with all the watering we have to do here. I think we are going to have to get someone out from BT as the internet keeps going. Chris said it is a right old rigmarole but will attempt the questionnaire that needs to be filled in tomorrow . Thomas has the hump and has vanished now :-S

Good morning all
Just got back from taking Ruby for a walk as usual she's very hyper I wish I had her energy. We met a lady with an old English bulldog it looked a little like a Mastiff he was very friendly and wanted a game but I think he would have flattened Ruby who was up for it.
Jane that photo of Hannah reminds me of the window we had in our first home in 1960 it was in the lounge and also had a smaller window as well but no lovely window seat, the rent was 25 shillings a week including electricity. I hope she and Gareth are very happy there. Has Thomas forgiven you yet? I hope Fitz finds a pair of shoes that suits him and doesn't try your patience too much.
Haven't had anything to eat yet so I'm just going to have my usual Greek yogurt and blueberries.

Good Morning Anne and all, EveningKim,
I had a night of weird dreams, from Tractors in the sea, to Nick in Corrie asking David if he would cook in the Bistro. Considering I don't like the soaps, where did that come from.
Well Ruby seems fit to tackle any play with whatever dog. One swipe with a paw from a mastive would have sent her flying. ;-) ;-) But I bet she would have been back for more. Bless her xx.
I couldn't open any eMails last night, there's an error somewhere that I can't sort out. So will look again later. There are no eMail numbers showing in the little icon, se I expect the fault is still there.
The morning started off with bright sunshine and clear blue sky's. It's now gone dull, but still very warm. I'm in my shorts, with doors and windows open.
Jan just rang and I told her I might now be going down to Devon on the 10th. She said see how you feel between now and then.
Ros is in the shower as we speak, I hope she sits down and does a bit of sewing before going to the hairdressers later. She did a fair stint in the garden yesterday, so a day off will do her good.
So Hannah is settled in the new Flat. When will you be going down to see it Jane ?? I bet they were shattered moving everything about in the hot weather. PHEW !!!
My blackbird has ONE SONG that he sings everyday Morning, noon and night. I can now imitate it, and whistle back to him. I think he gets confused !!! <3 <3 <3
Shower time for me. Speak with you all later.

Afternoon all
Raining here today but the garden is loving it :-)
Just noticed the photo's Ann of the vicarage. Love the wall and the way they have done the hedge with the box balls inside.
The picture of the new flat looks nice Jane, I was just saying to OH how it looks similar to our old house except our bay window was a bit wider. We had one of our sofa's where the window seat is. At least she had a bottle of bubbly until the furniture arrives LOL :-D :-D It sounds like you got a bargain with your geraniums I did giggle a bit when you were describing the way you had to get to them LOL.
I couldn't get back online yesterday as I was a bit to dizzy, I think it was my own fault as I had another look at my family tree so I think it was looking at the computer screen for to long that did it. The antibiotics are starting to work but I still have a headache and ear ache which is more annoying than anything. At least the sickness has gone thanks to the tablets the doctor gave me.
So you're confusing the blackbird then Frank, that must be a sight to see :-) Sorry to hear you nearly had a fall, you must be careful and not try carrying so much at a time.
It sounds like Ruby wanted to play with the bigger dog Anne......bless her.
5 acre's is a massive garden Mel, how do you cope with it all? Do you have an Arial photo of it, that would be lovely to see if you have?
I've just caught up with all my emails and then had a quick read of the posts on here, but my eyes are starting to go blurry so I'd better move away from the computer screen until they have sorted themselves out again. Hopefully I'll be back later.
