Dulled right down now. Ros has put a line of sheets and pillow cases out. So I will keep an eye on the weather.

Gill, do you think you need your eyes testing, if your vision keeps going blurred ??

Mel, Glad you both had a nice sleep, it does you the world of good. So B & S with sausages tonight. Pop a couple of eggs on the B & S. LOVELY. !!!

I wonder how Jane got on with her shopping trip with Fitz. I bet she will be ready for a glass of wine when she gets back. ;-) ;-) ;-)

I'm not very good on my "PINS" today. I am having to use my stick all the time to get around, otherwise I am grabbing at the furniture. Tried getting down the lawn this morning but with no great success. tripped on the step again. :-0 :-0 :-0

Ros has gone off to the hairdressers to have a shampoo, cut and roots done, so I expect she will be 2/3 hours. I can get forty winks while everywhere is quiet. Provided my Blackbird doesn't keep me awake <3 <3

Jane Report 2 Jun 2017 14:02

Afternoon Everyone
Well the first hiccup has happened for Hannah. She was waiting for the new sofa to arrive ,Gareth had gone to work. Sofa arrives BUT,the men struggled to get it up the stairs. It just wouldn't go(I am assuming around a bend). She sent a message saying that the men were hot and angry :-S :-S.. I think Gareth must have cocked up with measurements. That is all I know.I just hope that they will be able to exhange it although I know that it can be quite a difficult thing to do sometimes as it was their mistake.I expect I will hear more later.

Fitz got a pair of shoes :-D..The first and only pair he tried on.The lady who served him was excellent .He had his foot /leg splint on so not straightforward .But he is happy and so was I :-D :-D :-D

Gill your garden will be lapping up the rain :-D.I can just see a couple of rain spots on the window so maybe we will get some now. Fingers crossed we do. We have been watering the garden daily now for the last couple of months !!!!

Is OH ok today Mel? Had he just over done things yesterday?

Anne.I couldn't understand why my email kept bouncing back yesterday .Then I realised that it was the E I had left off your name that was causing the problem lol

Was Ruby a bit miffed she couldn't have a bit of a romp with the Bulldog? I bet they would have actually been ok.But I would have been a bit wary like you.

I managed to grab Thomas at 10.30 last night as he was walking across the lawn.I was sitting at the patio table c hatting to an old school friend who had rung so excited with news that she had just had an offer accepted on a cottage back down in Plymouth. She lives just outside Cardiff now but has retired and has been itching to move back home to Plymouth for ages. I just hope it all goes to plan. Her house has sold so if this place she is buying falls through she will rent somewhere rather than lose the sale on hers.

It looks like it might be raining :-D :-D

Frank

Frank Report 2 Jun 2017 14:33

No rain here Jane thank GAWD. I have a line of washing to keep an eye on.

Good that Fitz got his shoes just like that. He was very lucky to have got a good assistant to help him.

Good news also for your old friend if she has have her offer accepted on the cottage.

So Thomas is being his usual self then, eating baby bunnies. When out with Ros the other day, I bet we saw 20 little bunnies on the verges in he lanes. THEY mist be breeding like RABBITS ;-) ;-) ;-) :-D :-D :-D :-D

Becoming very cloudy here now, so I am going to check on the washing. WITH MY STICK !!!

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 2 Jun 2017 15:07

You be carefull Frank.

O Jane what a to do with the sofa. I hope they can sort something out for them and maybe get one a bit smaller but like the one they chose. You can usually get things round he bend in stairs so perhaps they just could'nt get it in the right position.

Good Fitz got his shoes and first try too. Bet you were glad about that and did'nt have to wait too long with him trying loads of shoes.

I have washing in the machine ready to go out but there is rain in the air here and I need to go out to Holsworthy so don't know wheather to chance it or not. I'll have a look at the road and see if thats drying. Thats a good sign it might dry.

We have only seen a couple of big bunnies in the garden so far this year and oh shot one of those and I had a pop at another but there dos'nt seem to be so many this year after my 8 I caught in the winter and I have plants in the border that hav'nt been eaten this year!!! I have flowers on a phlox that was eaten off two years running and now I am finally going to see flowers on it. I may have to take a flower off and suck it to get the nectar out like we used to as kids just to bring back that memory.

Jane

Jane Report 2 Jun 2017 16:19

Frank I think there is a glut of baby bunnies at the moment. I have seen lots in the top field .

Well the Sofa has been taken back and a new date for delivery again will be made. But this time they will send men who will take off one arm of the sofa so it can get up the stairs. It was a bit of lower ceiling that was the trouble. They will then re attach the arm. I don't know how they will do it as it is a fabric sofa .But I suppose they will know what they are doing. It must happen a lot of the time.

I had a quick look at shoes while Fitz was being sorted out.But as i had already bought a couple of new pairs of sandals before we went away I couldn't really justify buying anything else at the moment . They did have some lovely shoes called Softinos .Nice and soft ones but really quite expensive.

It is Kim's 60th today !!! Happy Birthday to our old friend in Australia <3

Well the rain didn't last long. But it still looks like there is more up there to come down.
It is so humid .Fine when I am not doing anything but it was dripping off me just now when I was ironing upstairs.Even with the strong fan blowing at me. I have done all I am doing today. The rest will wait .

MEL I have PMd you.

Evening all,

It's been raining here since about four o'clock.,it was nice and sunny first thing ,Colin had his MRI scan this morning ,he has to contact the doctor in about five days for the result , he said he was glad to get out of the the scanner as he was feeling quite hot and had a headache when he came out, on the way home he was quite sick and we were stuck in a line of traffic so there was no where to stop ,good job i had a carrier bag in my handbag although they have holes in them :-0 we had plenty of tissues too, he's fine again now so it must have been the being closed in and the heat .

Mel hope OH is feeling better now ,was it the heat that got to him do you think ?

It looks a nice light and airy flat that Hannah and Gareth are moving into Jane , i like the window seat ,what a todo with the sofa though they must have been disappointed when it wouldn't go up the stairs ,glad to hear they have sorted it out.

<3 <3 Happy Birthday Kim <3 <3 if your looking in have a lovely day .

We had Chelsea and Katie for the day yesterday they were good as gold we took them to a garden centre in the afternoon that had a play area and they had a good time on the slides and climbing frames ,i wanted a couple of the mini cucumber plants and i was lucky as they only had a few left and they were half price !!!

Annx Report 2 Jun 2017 18:25

Evening All,

I was told it does happen a lot with flats Jane. I was surprised about Hannah's sofa not going upstairs though. When we bought ours a couple of years ago they assured me that most sofas are made so the arms come off nowadays and there would be no problem getting ours through our small porch. Fancy the men who delivered not being able to do it while they were there. That was lucky the first shoes Fitz tried being good........he should have got 2 pairs while he was at it! :-)

Ruby's got lots of confidence now.....wanting to play with the big boys! lol.

Mel it looks like you may see some of those flowers bloom this year with no bunnies around. I had a lovely salmon coloured Phlox till I had to get rid of it when we changed all the garden. It had travelled with me to different gardens since I first married and took a bit of it from mum's garden in 1969.

I managed (just!) to get a space as someone drove out at the village garden centre this morning. The car park was full and cars parked both sides of the road to it again. Then as I walked in I bumped into a friend and her hubby! I got some sweet peas and a nice large leafed Coleus that is lime green and purple. I think it will look nice in my lime green pot with the narrow top. I didn't stay long in those humid greenhouses! OH got held up coming home after his meeting as there had been an accident and everyone was being diverted. OH thought he saw 4 cars involved.

It's good you are feeling a bit better Gill and sounds like you are on the mend now.

Jane

Jane Report 2 Jun 2017 18:30

Oh Mandy ! Poor Colin. Was he in the scanner for long? I daren't even think of the little holes in your plastic bag leaking :-S :-S.Who was driving? I would have been being sick along side him :-S.That is one thing that sets me off ,having someine being sick right next to me.
When I was nursing and a patient was being sick I often had to have a sick bowl at hand for me LOL. Thankfully I never let myself down.Just lots of urging and gagging :-S

Must start food now. James is having a stirfry when he gets in.He can do that himself .Then Chris and I will just have good old Youngs Beer Battered Cod, McCain Gastro triple cooked chips (naughty but nice) and peas. Then later Jess and Benjy will arrive just after 9pm.Jess will probably just have a Sandwich or something.
Thomas is in the Summerhouse and has no idea of who is arriving this evening LOL
His peace will be shattered.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 2 Jun 2017 18:44

You were lucky with the parking at the garden centre Ann ,those Coleus plants are pretty and it should look nice in your lime green pot .

Jane i was driving ,i did wonder if we should have sat out in the air for a while before getting in the car as it was hot in there which didn't help ,we had the air con on so he had the air blowing on him , he was in the scanner for about fifteen minutes ,i think i would have to be knocked out to go in one of those :-S
So fun and games for poor Thomas tonight when Benji gets there , i wonder if he'll chase after him again !!

Gillx

Gillx Report 2 Jun 2017 19:27

It's not my eyes Frank, the reason I couldn't see properly is because I had a bad headache. I've had a sleep this afternoon and woken feeling much better. I've just been sitting in the garden as the sun has come out after all the rain, there's a light breeze so it was lovely out there.

Good that Fitz got a pair of shoes quickly Jane, there's nothing worse than traipsing around the shops and not finding what it is you went out for. Sorry to hear about poor Hannah and her sofa, lets hope the delivery men can get it to her soon. I wonder how they're going to take the arm off......the things they can do nowadays.
Thomas is going to be in for a shock later when Benjy arrives. Do you think he'll ever get used to him?

How nice that your flowers haven't been eaten by the bunnies this year Mel, it must be so annoying with them eating your plants all the time. Hope your OH is okay now.

That was lucky managing to get a parking space Ann. The plant you bought sounds nice and will look lovely in the pot. I've just counted how many pots I've got in a section of my garden and there were 74, I only bought 11 of them, the rest are either off other people who didn't want them or cuttings I've grown over the years. I think I might have well over 200 pots plants now. Maybe I should open a garden centre, I love making new plants off the ones I have and it's becoming quite a hobby now

Poor Colin, Mandy, hope he is feeling better now. Good job you had the carrier bag for him. You were lucky it was you driving and not him.

Britain's got talent is coming on now, I wasn't to keen on it at first when Sandra wanted to watch it, but I'm getting into it now. Sandra's also informed me Big Brother starts on Monday, it's couples so that should be interesting, so long as there isn't to many arguments, it would be nice if they could all get on for a change. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Jane

Jane Report 2 Jun 2017 19:36

Ann, I think the men were just delivery men with the sofa and not having the tools or whatever is needed to remove the arm .
I did have a little smirk though as Gareth's job is all to do with measuring being a Quantity Surveyor . Hannah said she told him when she rang him to tell him of the dilemma that he maybe needs to retrain :-D :-D

Mandy,it is not nice having to be in that MRI scanner. Especially if you are a bit claustrophobic. 15 minutes will have felt like an age for OH. I think the longest time I have been in one was just less than 15 mins.I just kept my eyes shut and thought about strolling along the seashore .I think having to have that face/head shield on too is just horrible. That is why I keep my eyes shut.

We left the oven on ALL NIGHT last night !!!!!.James got a shock this morning when he came downstairs to find it humming away. It is a fan oven, and even after the oven is turned off the fan can still run for about half an hour !!.So we are so used to that noise. But none of us checked the oven was actually turned off. Double and triple checks tonight :-)

Annx Report 2 Jun 2017 19:48

Oh poor Colin Mandy, I bet he was really glad to get home. OH can't stand those scanners either. I used to carry a large polythene bag (no holes) in my previous cars, just in case. I must see if I can find it again. OH's car has a little tray slide under his passenger seat where we could keep it. Jane, it's a good job I never had children as it's something I can't watch or listen to without going in a cold sweat and feeling ill myself. Was the scan to do with his hip replacement Mandy? Yes and the Coleus was cheaper than getting several smaller plants for the pot. There haven't been many mini cues for sale round here this year, but I did manage to get one. You did well getting yours half price!

Gill, you DO have a garden centre with all those pots. They must look lovely but It must be quite a job to water them all!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 2 Jun 2017 20:23

<3 <3 <3 Happy Birthday Kim <3 <3 <3

Your coleus sounds nice and will look good in your lime green pot Ann.

Oh has an MRI scan coming up soon so I better get a bag without holes in it too or I may go armed with a small bucket and a plenty roll. Sorry to hear Colin was sick afterwards but it has been very hot. I hope he is feeling better now he's home and its all over and done with.

I was thinking last night I wish I had a damson coloured top without sleeves I could wear with my pyjames bottoms. I went into a shop in Holsworthy this afternoon and lo and behold they had one left in my size and just the right colour so I bought it.

I could'nt get a ini cue so I bought an ordinary one and today the mini ones were in Waitrose. Mole Valley's looked terrible so I would'nt buy one in there.

Gill I am pleased you're feeling a bit better now. I can't stand big brother anymore so don't watch that. I am really looking forward to Poldark which starts this month.

How are you feeling now Frank after your trip this morning? Hope the knees are ok.

Frank

Frank Report 2 Jun 2017 20:24

I can hear that BGT in the background, some bloke who thinks he is funny (NOT) I was bored just listening to his voice. How people can sit through it I will never know.

Jonathan called round this evening to sort out me eMails. Great I had 68 to read, mostly rubbish. The trouble is I can't forward anything to you in the way of jokes and interesting things. I don't like to bothe him, but I will have to ask him to pop back to see if he can sort it.

I have felt like a barrow load of "you know what" today. It took me four attempts to do the potato's then another hour to do the veg for dinner tonight. I just don't know whats wrong with me. If this continues I will have to go and see the Doctor.

I don't think I will be up for long tonight. I feel so tired and worn out, and I haven't done that much today.

Ros came home this afternoon with a bag full ,well FIVE goldfish. She has followed th instructions and they are now settled in the pond. It will be another little job to do each morning, feeding them. I hope the Heron stay away.

Hope everything works out with the Sofa Jane, It must be difficult for the delivery men, not knowing where the Sofa had to go. !!

I will have a nose round eBay, then get off to Bedfordshire. and the radio until I am ready for sleep.
Goodnight to you all, sleep tight. xxx

Gillx Report 2 Jun 2017 23:10

That was a stroke of luck Mel getting the top you needed and in the colour and size you wanted too, it's not very often that happens is it?

Yes, I suppose you're right Ann, I do have a kind of garden centre with all the pot plants I have, but with the garden being so large you don't really notice how many there are. I've got myself into a routine for watering now so it doesn't take to long to do.

Fancy leaving your oven on all night Jane, it must of been so hot when you got up this morning. Mind you I can see how easily it can be done if the fan keeps going after it's turned off. How's Thomas been with Benjy, are they getting on yet?

Sorry to hear your not feeling to good today Frank, hope your early night works and you feel better tomorrow. :-)

Frank

Frank Report 3 Jun 2017 09:30

Morning to you all, Evening Kim,

I was awake early this morning, and up by 7.00 am. I called Ros at 8.30 to give her time to get ready for shopping with Martine. I know she hates to rush around in the morning. I was in bed before 10.00 pm last night, and only got out once in the night.

I bet she will be gone before her bouquet arrives for our anniversary. I will put it in a bucket of water until she has time to sort them. We decided not to buy anything for each other this year, as really we don't need anything in particular, so it's a waste of money.

I will pop down to see how the fish are later, give them a sprinkle of food.

It's a lot cooler this morning, so will be more comfortable for doing any jobs. I might get the ironing done for her while she is out.

Have a great day whatever you are doing nd keep that dog away from Thomas Jane. !!!

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 3 Jun 2017 09:39

Morning all,

We have the yellow stuff out there today.

Hope all slept well last night. I had a strange dream this morning. I was at aunty Joy's and she was having some sort of dinner party but it was a buffet and then dinner in next doors. On one of the tables there was two litttle hedgehog figures, one in a sort of yellow and one in red. I asked her if I may have just one of them and she said NO they are cat fur ball removers. I left oh at that table and joined in next door where there were tables laid all along the edge of a narrow room. I went to put the kettle on and looked inside and there was strings of green weed inside so put it aside to clean it out. Went to the sink and that was the same. I then went to find something to clean them out with and found a box of paper kitchen rolls and grabbed a load of that and went back to the sink and kettle by which time Joy was asying she did'nt know where I had gone and she had put the kettle on green stuff and all. Yuk.
Then I was outside in the car on the way home when we saw a muckle coo in the road which should have been in Dave's field with the other he bought at market a few days before. I went into the farm and found Johnnie and told him and he grabbed a big handful of crushed barley and got in his car and drove to where the beast was and called out come on and sprinkled the barley out of the window. The calf followed and he got it back in the field with the others and then I woke up.

Your post was'nt there when I started typing Frank. Good to know you had another good nights sleep.

Have you heard anything about your sister lately?

Frank

Frank Report 3 Jun 2017 12:02

When I spoke to her the other day she was feeling quite sick, with headaches. I spoke to my SIL last night and she said she had spoken to Mary and she seemed a little better. I will ring her myself later today. You certainly had a weird dream Mel. Did you manage to get a COT. ??

All the basket of ironing done and put away. I fancied a sausage roll, so got a bag out of the freezer and cooked some after brushing them with beaten egg. I doubt there will be any left for Ros, as everytime I go in to the kitchen I eat one. Very nice they are too.

No flower delivery as yet, I paid extra for guaranteed Saturday Delivery, so they had better get here or else :-| :-| :-|

I offered to take Ros out tonight as well as lunch tomorrow, but she said no, we can have a Takeaway. I know th reason for that BGT final tonight. Crafty or WHAT ;-) ;-)

After lunch I might get the back lawn cut, it's grown a lot in the last week, with the rain and sun.

Afternoon Everyone

THis is just the perfect weather for me today. Sunshine with a lovely breeze. I am at the patio table with the laptop :-D. Chris gave the screen a good clean just now as it was filthy.
I'm sure the flowers will arrive Frank. You still have all afternoon . Had to laugh at Ros suggesting a takeaway tonight LOL . Just think you can both settle down to watch BGT together and enjoy it ;-) ;-)

Oh er what a weird dream Mel. It is strange isn't it what we dream. Most of the make no sense at all. I was on a cruise ship somewhere last night. No idea where or who I was with.

No trouble last night with Thomas and Benjy. Thomas was on the settee when they arrived .His eyes got as big as saucers for a bit ,he then got down and did a bit of stalking then just lay down on the floor. I went to bed then .
James was saying this morning Thomas was following Benjy in the garden and sitting down in all the spots Benjy stopped at.Maybe putting his mark on top of Benjy's.
But no fisty cuffs so far :-D

J&J and Benjy have just gone off to Oundle as James has found a place there that sells a Ginger Beer with Chillie !!!. When we went to Althorp Food and Drink festival the other week there was a stall selling this Ginger Beer and James bought some and loved it.So I think he is going to get a couple of boxes (if he can find the place)
They are off to this evening wedding do tonight. Jess has a lovely long green dress hanging up upstairs . James nipped out to M&S this morning for a white shirt as the one he has the sleeves are far too long.

Thomas is just a few feet away from me munching and crunching on a mouse or something :-S So that was his lunch .

Has anyone been watching the new programme Paula ? I think it is brilliant but oh my goodness a lot of violence . My heart was in my mouth when I watched the second episode. I love a good Psychological thriller :-D I haven't seen all who are through to the final tonight for BGT. But I will be watching :-D :-D
