I wonders what he meant and who he was referring too.

Mel, I have just looked up rose trees, they are something like that but at this stage much smaller. I will look further into it, and try to establish exactly what they are. There was no name on the plants in B & Q.

Rain stopped play here. I had just got my drill out and found my bits and raw plugs. Drilled one hole in the Garage wall when the clouds opened. Now I have dried off a bit the BLOOMING SUNS COME OUT. So I will continue with my job.

Frank

Frank Report 9 Jun 2017 15:25

Not only have I drilled and plugged the garage wall and secured the trees and planter, I have supported a tree in the garden that was bending over from all the wind. I knocked in a big stake and secured the tree to it with old Electric cable from my old mower that needs to go to the tip. So all in all a good afternoons work.

I have also stripped the Chicken and got the curry prepared for tonight. Ros adds the curry powder, as she doesn't like it to HOT.

She is busy down the garden weeding, so I have taken her a COT and biscuits. What a good boy I am. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Going to settle in the armchair for a read.

The sun is really warm here now, with white fluffy clouds in the sky.

Afternoon All

So the results are in. I don't want to hear any more about the election now. I watched tv until about midnight and then had it on again at 4.30 when i woke up.

So good weather next week for you in Devon then Frank .That will be just perfect for you being right by the sea :-D.I wish I was coming with you.It is a long time since I was in Torquay. You better pack your shorts :-D :-D

Our Plumber has just been after weeks of waiting for him. But he has been off sick for 4 weeks so I couldn't very well be cross. One of the things he has had is the racing heart problem that Ann had. He has Sciatica too and is limping around quite badly. Not so good when you have a job like him. He is coming back next Friday t o fit the new sink unit in the garage .

We had a fair few downpours this morning when I was in town taking some prints and the painting Chris had done for Fitz's 70th to be framed. Luckily I got to the shop before the rain fell.I was so worried that everything would get wet and ruined.

Thomas has been a sleepy so and so today. I let him out at 4.30am so he has probably stuffed himself with Rabbit.I noticed Chris was having a kip earlier in the summerhouse. His Kindle had dropped and his head was on his chest.

Mel I loved baby Wren with Mummy :-D :-D.Its little beak wide open wanting feeding .
We often have a Wren here but I have never seen a baby.

There are some huge clouds looming so i don't know if we are due anymore rain.
We have now picked 6 mini cucumbers :-D :-D They are so nice.

I almost forgot Chris had a phone call supposedly from Police at Paddington saying 2 Polish men had been arrested trying to use Chris's Bank Cards . This rang a bell with me. FRANK didn't you have the same call some time ago and it was a scam ????

Evening all,

It's been a nice day here today really warm in the sun ,just a few spits of rain about lunch time .

You've been busy today Frank ,shame your not getting very good nights but i'm sure once you get some of that nice sea air next week you'll sleep like a log .

Nice photo's of the wren Mel , i meant to say the other day i heard a Cuckoo ,i haven't heard one for a few years now ,we use to hear it every year and i was so surprised to hear it again .

Glad you got your iron sorted out in the end Jane but your poor nail getting split ,you'll have to be careful it doesn't catch on some thing and get ripped off .
Blooming people scamming people like that with these phone calls ,i feel so sorry for these elderly people who get caught out by them , they need stringing up .
Are your cucumbers early Jane ? mine are still small plants with no sign of any flowers yet, i do have flowers on the tomatoes though.

Well we're hoping too get the pool up this weekend ,at this rate the summer will be over before it's up but Colin wanted to get his messy jobs done so the dust and bits didn't go in the pool.

Just got in from the border where I have been all afternoon. Another barrow full of buttercups and other weeds. I did'nt realize what the time was!! Oh was mowing so I cam edown and got the bedding off the line and made a drink and here I m no dinner on the go yet either!!

So you liked my little Jenny Wren and her baby. There are at least two because I have seen them both on the patio but they are so quick by the time I have the camera ready they've gone.

I have chicken breast peices for dinner so I better bung them in the oven and do some spuds etc.

Frank you did do a lot in the garden today and I bet it looks better for it. Perhaps you'll sleep tonight after all that.

Frank Report 9 Jun 2017 19:07

Evening all,

Jane, like you if I don't hear another thing about the Election it will be too soon. The whole LOCAL news was about the election as is the MAIN news, is there nothing else going on in this WORLD we live in.

Yes Jane we sat here one Sunday afternoon when we had a call to say our Grandson has been caught using our credit card in London. R os rang 999 while I kept him talking and asked how I could get back to him. He said the number which is the police NONE Emergency number. I knew that he wouldn't be putting down the phone his end, so if I rang back he would still be connected. We never did hear about any action the police might have taken.

Ros has been beavering away weeding down the bottom of the garden. She said I should get my lounger out and get a bit of SUN. But I was quite happy in doors, with my book.

Mandy I can't remember the last time I heard a Cuckoo either, it's got to be at least 3 years. How's our Max doing ?? behaving himself I hope. The weather is going to get better from tomorrow, so the forecast says, so it's a good time to get the pool out.

Ros is meeting Martine tomorrow but only for a chat. As we are going away on Monday we won't need a shop.

I hope while she is out tomorrow, weather permitting I will get the lawns done. I don't want to leave them for a couple of weeks, if we stay that long.

I can hear Emmerdale on now. So I will find something to pass an hour or two while the others are on.

When oh was mowing he called to me to come and look through the arch into the top garden. There is the rabbit trap was a large hedgehog!! The trap had been put against the fence but the wind must have moved it and the hog gone in. Just as well he saw it bless. I tipped it out into my border under the leafy plants.

Evening All,

We had a bit of drizzle for a few minutes at lunchtime but otherwise it's been sunny but still a bit breezy.

Frank you HAVE been busy haven't you. It's good all is secure now and I hope doing the jobs will help you sleep tonight. :-) As Mandy said, you will most likely sleep well while you are away. I always sleep like a log in Cornwall. I woke a couple of times in the night and flicked the Election news on, then woke at 6.00am as I have been doing lately and didn't go back to sleep.

We had a nest of Wrens in the canopy over the front door when I moved into my previous house, but never saw the babies at all. Mel, I see you have had a good weeding session in your borders. Do you compost everything to spread back on when it has rotted down?

Oh Jane I have sympathy with your plumber as I'm sure Mel does too. I hope they have got the problem under control now as it is very scary and takes a long while afterwards for the anxiety to go. The poor chap having sciatica too, with all the bending a plumber has to do. Hopefully there won't be much of that with fitting your sink. What's this with you having cues already!! :-0 We are like Mandy and just have flowers on the toms at the moment. Did the painting for Fitz turn out as well as Chris hoped? It was a lovely idea Fitz came up with for his birthday.......a nice personal gift.

Mandy, the children will be thrilled at the pool being filled. Probably Max will be too!! lol. Will you have to get a new cossie after losing weight! :-D ;-) I meant to ask if Nico is back in the churchyard now. I hope he has his polythene if he is with all the rain we've had.

We had a giggle at beading today. One friend was saying she wondered about taking up and having a few more riding lessons. I was telling her about my school friend having several ponies and that I'd thought about it, but would need something to stand on to get on a pony now. She said, 'not if they are that small though.' I started chuckling and said if they were that small they'd need Noel Fitzpatrick after I'd been on their backs!!!! :-) :-0 We had one of the ladies come today who does checks on the classes, watches how they are run etc. She's always bursting with enthusiasm at all the jewellery we make and tries things on and comes round chatting to us all. I think she would stay all day if she could.

Off to watch Supervet now.

Ann i have seen Nicko lately but he doesn't seem to be sleeping in the churchyard now since the rock was thrown at him , i don't know where he's sleeping but he did tell me he's now of the ground and not sleeping on the concrete ,i don't like to ask him too much ,don't want him to think i'm prying .
Last time i saw him he was taking a plastic tub to put in the bin ,it looked like he had eaten one of those tubs of Pasta .

I hadn't thought about my swimming cossie's not fitting i'd better try them on .

Jane i don't know what the email was you sent, i carn't open it . :-(

Lovely evening here ,blue sky and fluffy pink clouds .

Morning Mel, and All, Evening Kim,

Mel this is becoming a regular thing, you or I posting first.

Had a horrible night last night. I ached all over and could not get comfortable. Whichever way I turned it hurt my back, shoulder and arm on my right side. It seems worse since that fall last week. I laid and clocked watched from 5.00 am to 7.00 when I got up.

Dos hasn't gone to meet Martine, she worked in the garden till after 6.00 pm last night and I am sure she has worn herself out. Plus we don't need any shopping for the weekend. I hope I can get her to rest today.

Sending my eMails is all over the place. At the bottom left had side of the screen it shows how many are in the system and how many have been sent. When I just looked it said 18 sent out of 27. So there is a back log, and I don't know why.

We still have that Blooming wind from the South West. THANKS MEL lol lol All my work from yesterday is still in place, so that's one good thing. I MUST try to get my lawns done either today or tomorrow. Thank goodness it's dry, so if I feel like it later the lawns should be dry enough.

Thanks for the Mimi cue shot Jane, I hope you enjoy them. We haven't planted any this year, but I set some courgette seeds, and they are coming along OK as are everything in my Veg patch. I will water well on Sunday night and hope everything survives while we are away. I will get Pam to water the greenhouse, but to water the garden will mean dragging that hose off the reel, and that's not easy. So it will have to take it's chances !!!

Going down the pub for 5.00 pm Kick Off. ENGLAND V SCOTLAND. I hope there is no trouble in Scotland.

See you all later, enjoy your day xxx

Morning Frank and all,

Well the winds still blowing and the skies are grey and its not very nice at all.

Frank I hope you bring some good weather with you when you come down on Monday, you better or else! ;-)

Nothing to report on except I got up at 7.50am and went back to bed for half and hour and woke up at 25 to 11am.

I am itching all over. I don't seem to have those spots on my arms anymore but I itch round my neck and on my arms and legs and trunk.

Annx

Annx Report 10 Jun 2017 12:01

Morning All,

Nice and sunny here with a pleasant cooling breeze :-)

Thanks for the email Jane.....I expect that was a lot of people's reaction to the election chaos and results! Your cues have done well and look very healthy.

Glad you have seen Nicko Mandy. It's good he isn't sleeping on concrete now. As you say you don't want to pry, but just show an interest and bit of caring which very few probably do. It must be very isolating in his position and I find it sad that a young man seems to have lost his way in life.

OH has cleared the pots, chimney pots and ladder from the side of the bungalow ready to lift the slabs. I said it would be best to do the job in small bursts rather than risk hurting his back or bringing on his sciatica!!

Frank it is good idea to get Ros to slow down a bit although it must be hard. I think a bit of sea air will do you both good. :-) I'm missing the fact we haven't had any yet this year.

Mel is it the midge bites making you itch again?

Frank

Frank Report 10 Jun 2017 12:12

What have you got Mel. "The dreaded lurgy" LOL LOL It must be uncomfortable, do they itch ??

Well I have down the edges and cut the front lawn, it looks a treat and has got to last until we get home again. Can't rely on Tony giving it a trim, he doesn't do his own until it's like Elephant Grass ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Well the wind is still blowing like mad, even though it's not cold. I have been in the garden bare chested and feel very warm in the sun.

I'm thinking my carrots might need to be looked at. The tops are almost 12 inches high so the bottom should be ready for pulling. I will pull one later, and see how they are.( Sounds like i'm going out to pull a woman) lol lol. The potato's in the bags are just coming into flower, so that won't be long.

Where are you all, ??out shopping or in the garden. I wonder what Gill is up to ?? She hasn't been around for a couple of days.

Morrison's Beef Burgers for lunch today. Dos got some soft rolls last night. I have done loads of onions for frying. If I suffer later it will be my own fault. But I just fancy them. :-P :-P :-P ;-) ;-) ;-)

Annx

Annx Report 10 Jun 2017 13:36

Well OH has taken no notice of me and has lifted all the slabs down the side of the bungalow and scraped out a channel next to the bricks. He has filled 2 humpers already. He's thinking now to scrape the channel a bit wider so that the man can get to do the pointing, but to leave digging the rest lower till the man has been and done the work. That way he can dig the rest out and relay the slabs at his leisure and not have to rush to be done for the man coming. It sounds a good idea. :-) He's managed to get a big scrape down his leg from one of the slabs. That will need antiseptic cream as it's drawn blood!

I bet you are happy now the lawns are done Frank. Otherwise you and Tony could have had matching elephant grass by the time you get back!! Your veg seem to be doing well.

The sun's gone in and it's blowing stronger here now. I'm popping out I think as my camera should be charged up by now. I can also call at the farm shop.

Yes, where is Gill? I hope she's ok.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 10 Jun 2017 14:44

Send me some of your sunshine please?

There's rain in the air here and it is still cloudy and grey.

My itches are not midge bites its just to do with that rash I had on my arms. I did find out that oh used my flannel on his feet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He has three of his own in his wash bag but no he has to use mine. I am just wondering how many times he has done it before? It was only that it was slung in the bath that I picked it up and looked at it and asked him what he had used it on.

Frank

Frank Report 10 Jun 2017 15:49

Naughty, Naughty. OH Mel, Ros has hers on one hook in the shower and I have mine, would I dare use hers !!!!! No I like my body as it is, and I don't want to talk with a high pitched voice. ;-) ;-) ;-)

I only did the one lawn Ann, I got the mower round to the back lawn, but just didn't feel up to doing it. I have put the mower away and will try tomorrow. Instead I went and had a nice shower and shave, ready to go to the pub later. But I see it's on ITV and as I feel tired and got beers indoors, I might stay at home.

Madam is doing more weeding on the stones at the bottom by the pond. I will have to make up more weedkiller when she is done, to try to keep them at bay.

More cloud here now Mel, so we haven't got it all our way :-D :-D :-D

Beefburger was so nice at lunchtime, and so far no indigestion !!!

Annx

Annx Report 10 Jun 2017 17:24

So it's one down and one to go then Frank! Good idea to tackle one today and the other tomorrow.

Oh Mel, isn't that just like them!!! We found we didn't need flannels in the shower as we wash our hair in there too so don't use them, but it makes me cringe to think of using one that someone had used on their feet and can imagine how you felt. OH decided to get himself some salad earlier and I walked in the kitchen to find him chopping onions and slicing cucumber on a thin polythene bag on MY tray!! He knows I always use chopping boards, he knows they are in the cupboard right next to him and why he had to use my tray as well as his own I don't know. I think the trays we use now were quite expensive, maybe £20 each, and they have raised rubber bumps so your plates don't slide on them and took me years to find so I don't want him cutting the surface up. The trouble is, what do they do when you are not around?

I called in the farm shop and got a few bits including some nice fresh water melon, but it was too windy to take nice crisp photos so I came home after.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 10 Jun 2017 18:04

Ann perish the thought.

I have to use a flannel as if I just use my hands I get a build up of dry skin. Oh dos'nt use a flannel in the shower but he dried his feet on my one before going to the doc's!!

I have boiled mine now and put them in the little loo out of his way as he dos'nt use that one unless I am in the shower and he needs to go which is'nt very often because I go in the shower after he has been to the loo.

Ann oh will cut up slices of carrot for th emealworms on the work surface or on my pastry board which I never cut anything on. We have two very this chopping boards just a step away from the fridge that he could use.

Raining here but only lightly.
