Thanks all i don't think we'll know much with the tests tomorrow ,it's a walk in blood test so we thought we would let all the work and school traffic get away before we set
off .

Gill i hope mum soon feels better ,are you staying over with her ?

We have only just come in ,we have been sitting out as it's a bit cooler out than in , we hosed the garden and Max too :-D he loved it .

No i didn't take any photos Ann I'll get some next time they go in , yes Lewis is getting a big boy now but he won't go in the pool ,he's just not interested about going in so we haven't pushed him ,he'll go in when he's ready.

Yes where is Frank ? i hope the heat hasn't got to him.

Jane Report 18 Jun 2017 22:14

Gill, I hope it is just the heat with your Mum and nothing worse <3

Just rescued a little vole or something from Thomas .He was chasing, catching and tossing it around on the lawn :-S. I managed to grab Thomas and bring him in.I can go to bed now :-D
Anne I think this heat sometimes can make people feel unwell. As you say it is just so draining. I am off now for a cool shower .

As to me I am itching all over this morning.

Hope we here from Frank today.

Afternoon All,

More Phewwww!! After my cool shower last night with the plug in the bath so the water cooled my ankles I slept like a top!I also had a hot water bottle with cold water in to put my feet on. :-)

All that water must be a little scary for Lewis Mandy as he isn't very old yet. Best to let him wait till he's ready as you say. I'm looking forward to seeing a few pics when they come again.

I hope your mum soon feels better Gill. It may be the heat as everyone says.

I popped out to the farm shop first thing. There was only an older chap in there shopping, but I must look like a shop assistant as he made a beeline for me to ask if the strawberries were english???? I was very tempted to say I hadn't heard them talking yet, but bit my tongue as he didn't look like he had a sense of humour!!! :-D A lot of older folk do look quite grumpy don't they. We went out to eat when I got back and OH could only touch the steering wheel with his fingertips it was so hot. The car said 37 degrees but soon dropped to 35 degrees. We found a shady corner next to an open door and both had home made salmon fishcake with salad and skinny fries.....naughty but very nice.

We've actually got the fans out now for the first time so we can get something done. It's 27 degrees on the study thermometer and I'm drawing and OH is doing more notes in the lounge. I've never known OH to want a fan before so it must be hot!!

I hope you feel a bit better today Anne and it sounds like Ruby is improving which is good.

I think there is bound to be a lot more trouble yet Mel and wonder what it will all escalate to.

Well, back to the drawing board as they say!

Ann oh said before this latest happening that there would be riots in London before too long. I wonder if he is going to be right?

Little Lewis will soon want to join in the fun and games when he sees what the others are dong in the pool.

Oh says its too hot to work outside today so he is watching the back of his eyelids in the bedroom with a fan on.

Myself I am going to attempt some ironing as I have piles of it again now.

Afternoon All

I am now Twinkle Toes :-D.. All nails cut filed buffed and thick skin removed. Feels good :-D

I had to stand on the pavement when I came out from the Foot Clinic while the aircon cooled down the inside of the car. Like Gordon Ann I could barely touch the steering wheel.

The lady who did my feet was saying that she has had her cats fur shaved off on the stomach because of this heat !!. Iy sounded like it has the same kind of fur as Thomas. But I don't think I could do that to him even though it kind of maked sense .It isn't as though we are going to have this heatwave all summer.(I hope not anyway !! )

Lewis will dive in when he feels comfortable Mandy. I remember one of the others not being keen on going in the water when they were tiny.

Ann that was a good idea putting the plug in the bath when you had your cool shower.

Hannah has ben saying for a while now she reckons there could well be riots. When she was in her last place she often had to walk past that Mosque. She also got a bit caught up in the riots a few years ago (was it Brixton?) She was worried about getting home one night when it was all kicking off and one of ladies who posted on GR for years ( BC Buttercup) offered a bed for the night if Hannah was stuck. How kind was that. Sadly BC is no longer with us :-(
I am not sure how far Hannah is now from Finsbury Park but I do know it is not far at all. So I hope everyone will remain calm and not start a riot.

I have just seen Paris has had another car drive into a police car. The driver was armed ,and his car caught fire. I think the heat is getting to all the crazy people :-S :-S

Poor Ruby is really feeling the heat she is completely off her food and spent most of the day laying on the floor underneath one the fans. It's seems hotter here than yesterday

Richard has just come in after working out in the open all day and gone up for a much needed shower

How nice to have had your feet done Jane It is difficult cutting you own toe nails sometimes.

Another dreadful atrocity in London, how can people be so full of hate to try to maim and murder people including children they don't even know'

Yesterday Abbie's boyfriend got beaten up by a yob simply because he was wearing a Chelsea T--shirt he wasn't badly hurt because she interfered and luckily he didnt' harm her but stamped on and ruined his mobile phone, they did report it but at the moment he hasn't been caught.

Jane

Jane Report 19 Jun 2017 19:40

What on earth is wrong with people . To beat up someone for just wearing a Chelsea T Shirt :-S :-S Thank goodness Abbie was ok and her boyfriend wasn't badly hurt Anne. Something has gone wrong somewhere with humanity in certain circles.
Thankfully most people are anti violence .It is just the minority that cause so much pain and anguish to law abiding and peaceful folk. Shame on them :-S :-S :-S

Poor Ruby feeling this heat . I think as long as she has water handy she will eat when she feels like it. I have just thrown another dish of food out for Thomas. I will just leave water and dried food now .

Our dinner has been ready for a while but neither of us feel like eating yet.So it is keeping warm . James had his as soon as he got in from work. It is strange how the appetite goes when it is so hot.

Annx Report 19 Jun 2017 20:33

Poor Richard having to be out in the heat all day Anne. I bet he was looking forward to that cool shower all day! It sounds like Ruby is finding it all a bit much. It is hotter here today, 29 degrees in the study where I am and even hotter on the back where our lounge is. How awful being beat up because of that. Too many people seem to think they needn't be tolerant of anything they don't like and there seem to be getting more and more of them. Fancy smashing his phone as well.

I bet your feet feel lovely now Jane. :-) I have trouble putting nail varnish on my toes now too with straight legs. It must be 8 years since I had real problems after I fell into my car. At least I've always been able to touch my toes, although my middle doesn't help now. I remember that lady offering Hannah a bed!

OH has just come in from hosing the back garden and says he's exhausted! Looks like I'll be doing the front garden in the morning. :-S

I think I did well today doing all that ironing and without a fan on me too.

Hope Gill's mum is feeling better now she is being looked after by Gill. I know Gill is'nt too good in the heat either.

Still no Frank?? Hope everything is ok and he has'nt had one of his falls whilst out walking.

Hi all

Another hot day here today, mum is still a bit under the weather, she says it's the heat but with her heart problems I don't want her doing much in this weather incase it makes her worse, she's had a few flutters so I'm keeping an eye on her. Her garden needs a good tidy up so OH and I are going to tackle it when the weather cools down a bit and a couple of greenhouse glass panes got broken in storm Doris so we're going to fix them for her too.

I did laugh when you said about the strawberries and whether they were English or not Ann :-D :-D

What a to do Anne, some people are just so violent aren't they? Poor Ruby, hope she isn't to effected by this hot weather. That's the thing with pets they can't exactly take their fur off like we do clothes. At least she's in front of a fan which should help;.

No, I'm not staying at mum's Jane, but do go there in the mornings and stay with her till later in the evenings. If I wasn't there she'd try doing all sorts and make herself worse, so I'd rather be there just incase.

I'm sure Lewis will love the water when he's ready Mandy, maybe when he sees everyone else having fun he might want to join in.

I'm off to bed now I'm so tired as I'm not sleeping very well with it being so hot. I'll try and get back again tomorrow

It;s ONLY ME. !!!! Good afternoon to you all,

We left Paignton at 6.30 am to take Conrad to Exeter Airport. A tiny little place, but more convenient than Bristol. We then traveled on to home. We stopped once for a coffee. We got home at about 11.00 am. Jan wouldn't stop and was on her way by 11.30 back to Devon.

We have had an excellent week, Ros and Jan have done a lot in their garden. Conrad was quite impressed when he saw it Saturday Morning.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch for fathers day. I didn't have anything else all day. Monday I didn't have breakfast. We went to Salcombe for lunch to a nice place opposite the sea shore called :THE WINKING PRAWN". We had A MASSIVE TRAY OF PEELED PRAWNS, four pots of plans with the shells on, TWO crabs, Mussels and Salad with pots of chips. To say the least I was in my glory. Nobody wanted the dark meat of the crab so I had the lot. A lots of the prawns were in egg, but that didn't bother me like it did the others, so I tucked into those as well. !!! By the time we were FULL up, there were still some prawns on the big dish with the sauces. The next table were a young couple with two young girls. I asked if they would like to finish them off. OH YES PLEASE. so nothing went yo waste. Needless to say I didn't eat last night.

So Sorry I haven't been on for a couple of days, but as I said the neck and shoulder has been so sore, I thought I would stay away from the computer.

Jo, knows a chap who is a "SPORTS INJURY MASSEUR". Conrad paid for an hours treatment for me yesterday afternoon at 4.00 pm. He really put me through the mangle. He says that all this stems from my STROKE. The muscles have tightened themselves to protect my Shoulder, and the fall I had a couple of weeks ago could have set it all off. After a hour and a half. I felt I had done 15 rounds with HENRY COOPER. I was in bed by NINE last night, and slept like a baby till 4.00 am. We had to be up at 5.45 am. this morning.

I have only scanned through all your posts, pleased to see all is well in my "HAREM" and the pets are all well in the heat.

While Ros was in the back of the garden getting the IVY off the high wall, she screamed out "THERE'S A SNAKE" when I investigated it was a "SLOW WORM" about two fett long. It had a piece of plastic round it's body, so I removed that and put it in a shady place in another part of the garden.

Carolyn had supposed to water the garden and greenhouse. I can see the greenhouse has been water, but all the pots and baskets are bone dry. So that's a job for me this evening.

Ros is out tonight on a "TREASURE HUNT" with the girls and eating at a local pub where they finish. So I will popto the local for a bite to eat and a pint or two.

Glad to be home to my own bed tonight. Might see you later if not tomorrow xxx

Afternoon All,

I felt a bit wobbly and off the pace last night when I went to bed but soon went to sleep. I awoke in the early hours and couldn't believe I was hearing rain.....and it was heavy rain at that!! I looked outside when I woke up and could see a few damp patches on the road. Whoopee I thought, no need to water the front garden! :-)

This morning it was much cooler and we flung open all the doors and windows to cool the inside. I nipped out for the papers and to the nearest garden centre. There was a crowd of ladies around some clothes in there which I haven't seen there before. They were Italian dresses similar to Jane's and some cheesecloth and some silk floaty tops, lovely and cool. I got one of the patterned cheesecloth tops but a lady just beat me to a pale pink one I would also have liked. They are having more in on Thursday, so I'll be back then!

I'm glad you had such a good time Frank, but it was a shame about your neck hurting. Hopefully it's back in order now after that last session. I have only ever seen a slow worm once, but think I would have been like Ros and assumed it was a snake!!

The temperature's climbing again here and back up to 26 degrees in the study!! OH has shut the patio door round the back as the sun will soon be on it.

Afternoon Everyone
Welcome home Frank. I am really pleased you had a lovely week. What weather you had too. I bet it was a bit hot travelling home today in the car. It will be nice to get back in your own bed again tonight.

A Treasure Hunt. I used to love going on those. When Chris was at the Surgery we had one every year for a few years. But that wasa long time ago now.

I like the sound of those Ann.Fingers crossed you can get another one. I decided to get the black dress like the other 2 today. They are just so comfy and cool in this weather and such a good price. So I now have 3 dresses LOL. The girl said they had sold so many of them.I am not surprised.

Was it the heat making you feel a bit off last night Ann? I thought it was the hottest night so far and was awake on and off all night sweating like crazy . I have bought 2 hot water bottles today and they are now in the freezer ready for the bed tonight :-D

They only had 2 in Tesco so I snapped them up. The lady behind me at the till couldn't believe I was buy HOT WATER BOTTLES. But when I explained they would have frozen water in she thought it was a great idea and was going to go home and look hers out :-D. We definitely didn't have any rain last night . I got up at 4 as Thomas was being a pain rubbing all around me in the bed. So I let him out and got myself an ice lolly from the freezer.
:-D.

Mel do you think the itching might be getting a bit easier now then ? What a relief that would be for you.

Frank, do you think that your pots haven't been watered at all while you have been away ,or maybe just not enough?. I have to look after my neighbours pots and hanging baskets next week and feed the fish in the pond. Chris will have to come with me to reach the hanging baskets.I have struggled in the past to water them properly as I can only go on tiptoes so high :-) and even then my arms aren't quite long enough LOL

Thomas has just walked in (I haven't seen him since 4 this morning) He had a little fuss ,then went and did a wee in his tray and walked back out again :-S. I don't know why he does that especially as he has been out for so long. So now i will have to clear that :-S

Gill,is your Mum feeling better today? I bet you have been keeping a beady eye on her to make sure she is not doing too much.

Easy dinner tonight. An Orzo and Pesto Chicken Bake with red and orange peppers and mushrooms . Just one dish . I will do some Broccoli or Green Beans too.

Getting hot again now with the oven on.

I'm pleased you had a nice stay in Devon Frank and it sounds like you really enjoyed the food. How nice to offer the prawns to the next table. Better than bringing them home for a sandwich.

Its been another scorcher here today and I was glad to get in Morrisons but was sad to come out and go back to the car. I need the gas put in my air conditioning but not sure it is worth it as we don't know if the temps are going to be like this later in the year.

I am still itching and still have the rash. Oh says its Pitylarius Rosea but why did'nt the doc know that?? He say he had it when he was young.

Hope all the pets are staying cool in this heat.

What a terrible thing the fires in Portugal. So many losing their lives and everything they own.
