Yes it is the same neighbour Jane.......he was jet washing the road before. The neighbour next to him in the corner was sweeping the road yesterday!! There are very few lorry deliveries to what there were now so I don't know why they bother as the builder should have the road resurfaced when the house and 2nd bungalow are finished. I can't believe William is nearly 5!!! How is your black eye now? At this rate you will have tape and creams all over you. I would be thinking something 'cool' for tomorrow and a lightweight umbrella just in case! It will be nice to visit Hannah and Gareth's place.

Mandy have you got your herb box Colin made finished now? I imagine it would look good.

I feel so tired today I haven't done much at all. Another early night methinks!!

Mandy ,how old is Lacey tomorrow? I forget if she is the same as William or older. I have lost track of the ages of all your Grandchildren !! Yes 5 years have gone so quickly.I stil think how sad it is that William's mummy is no longer here to see what a lovely boy she gave birth to.She was only with him for just over 3 months before she died :-(. I think she would be so proud of Michel as they weren't together when William was born and Michel took him on over night and suddenly became a single Dad. My Sister and Larry have as you know played a huge role in the upbringing of William so that Michel could continue working. Now William is at school full time life is much easier for all of them.

I think if OH's scan was classed as Urgent then I would think it would be fast tracked for the Consultant to look at Mandy. So hopefully it won't be too long before you hear something.

I will make a lot of noise when I open my next door neighbours back door to frighten off Ratty if it is there LOL . She said she has taken down the bird feeder as it was climbing up it. So now that has gone maybe it has moved off elsewhere .(probably my garden :-S) Thomas will get it if he sees it.

All the Dogs and Cats and other animals will be feeling much more comfortable now that the weather has cooled off. Ruby no doubt will be running Anne ragged :-D. Toy Box turfed out all over the place :-) Thomas is leaving great chunks of fur all over the place . He was doing a lot of scratching around his neck over the last couple of days,so I got the Flea comb out and gave him a good going through. No Fleas but an ANT ,that I reckon must have been stuck in his thick coat and irritating him. I soon squished that one :-D
Dinner will be ready soon .Neither of us feel too hungry .But it is in so we will eat it :-D

Ann ,the herb box is looking good ,i would have liked it a bit bigger really but there's not a lot of room on the wall under the kitchen window as we have the electric meter box there ,i was going to put three herbs in but ended up with just the Mint and Thyme but both have both spread out and filled it .
I'll get a photo tomorrow ,it's a bit dull out now to take one.

Jane Lacey will be five the same age as William .

Our runner beans are now at the top of the canes ,i have tiny little cues forming and the toms are like tiny little marbles.

Here I am. We've been out to Westward Ho! today. It rained all day that fine stuff. Alan took Stephanie on the go carts. Alan drove but she really loved it. I only took 6 pics as the camera was getting rather wet and I did'nt want it to shut the lens up wet so had to stand under cover and dry it before turning it off. Once we left the front and walked back to the car the wind dropped so it must have been coming right off the sea.

We bought pasties and ate them looking at the sea and then had a Hockings ice cream. Alan Stephanie and I went in the amusement park and Steph put twopences in the machine. We got a load of tickets out for a prize which we gave to a young lad.

Just going to shut the chickens in.

Morning all,

Another rather wet day here. That mizzley stuff that gets everywhere and its a bit windy too.

I think everyone enjoyed yesterday even though it was also wet.

Alan is picking up the big daisy he bought in Bude today after 11am and I don't suppose we will go anywhere today but we are going for a roast dinner tonight at the pub they stayed in not far up the road. That will be nice as I hav'nt had a roast dinner out for a long time.

Be nice to get a pic of Mandy's herb box when she takes one.

Morning to you all, evening Kim,

Yet another BAD NIGHT. After having bad night the night before, I was very tired and turned in about 9.30 pm I was still awake at midnight. Dos was watching her Jewellery programs, so I left her to it and went back to bed. Clocked watched till after 2.00 and was awake and up at 6.00 am.

Happy Birthday to WILLIAM and LACEY, I hope they both have a wonderful party (I assume they will) today. Hope the weather holds out so they can be in the garden.

You seem to be enjoying your Company Mel, I bet it's nice to get our and about. I so envy you with all that beautiful Coast and Country you have so close to you.

I expect Lady Jane is on her way to Hannah's. I hope they enjoy their day, and like the flat. Jane when you go round to water the neighbours pots etc. You should lay some RAT POISON down where she believes he is living. Why she hasn't done it herself I don't know. !!!

Neither of us want breakfast this morning, so I will get dinner ready a bit earlier today. Roast Beef and all the trimmings. Lets hope we will eat it all.

Trust all the pets are fine, now that the weather is cooler. It must be horrible for them, they can't take their coats off LOL LOL.

I see I am "billy no mates" We have showers here. Ros is in the garden. I keep seeing her run to the greenhouse for shelter. I've told her to come in, but she won't listen to me ;-) ;-)

Meats in the oven and veg ready to go on, when I put the pudding in. She will have to come in then. Perhaps I can keep her in after she has eaten.

Nothing to report this end, apart from me ordering more books off eBay.

OH had some bad news this morning, his younger brother who's only 48 years old has got terminal cancer, so as you can imagine OH is in a bit of a state and so is his mum. It's the brother who had problems earlier this year with a mass in his stomach, the cancer is in his back and can't be operated on.

I'll catch up with the posts as soon as I can as we're going out to see OH's mum soon. Hope everyone is okay.

Afternoon All,

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that Gill. How upsetting for you all to get such sad news and in someone so young too. It's good to rally round his mum as it must be especially hard for her to bear. Have they said how long they think he has? I hope he doesn't live too far from you and that you will be able to see him often.

<3HAPPY BIRTHDAY to LACEY and WILLIAM <3 I hope they enjoy themselves. Oh to be 5 years old again! I remember my first day at school and being sat down at a desk with a board and some pegs put in front of me. I was so shy and nervous I didn't know what they wanted me to do with them so I did nothing as I wasn't sure I was allowed to even touch them!! Children are so much more confident these days.

I bet your herbs still look nice Mandy. Often something small like that catches your eye and is really decorative as well as useful.

I had a bad night too Frank and was still awake at 3.00am. I got out and looked through the window then as I was sure I heard foxes with their strange bark. I didn't see any though. I see Ros is busy taking care of 'THE ESTATE' as usual. We could do with some of your rain as we only had a few drizzly spots on the windscreen.

We had lunch out today at the usual place and then carried on to the Furniture Barn near Mkt Harborough (Jane will know it!). I'm still looking for two tall vases for the matching sideboards in the lounge and they have all sorts of knick knacks and art as well as furniture. There wasn't anything though so we came home after. I have tied up the toms and cue and treated the ants in the greenhouse again!! :-S There are 4 kinds of ant killer in there now, 2 sprays, powder and a bait station so hopefully that will see them off!! Mandy, we have 'marbles' too and the cue has some tiny cues on, about 6 I think and has shot up with the hot weather. Our runners are still small though and only halfway up the poles.

Another good day out then Mel and with tasty 'eats'. I envy Mel all that countryside and scenery too Frank and would be out and about with my camera all the time!

I bet Jane is glad it's not boiling like last week and I hope there isn't too much hilly walking to do.

Evening All

Just got home after a really nice day. The flat is smashing .I took some pics. They still have some things to sort out and buy. TV stand is first on the list as it is on a load of boxes at the moment. It is a pity that they have no use of the back garden as it just belongs t othe ground floor and Basement flats but they have a good view over all the gardens at the back and there are lots of trees so all nice and green. When the leaves fall off the trees Hannah reckons they will have a good view over London. From the end of their road you can see the Shard and Canary Wharf in the distance.
They are at the top of a steep long hill (road called Mount View) .We didn't walk down to Crouch End for the meal but took the car :-D. Hannah spotted a couple of pictures in a Charity Shop. She recognised them as being by a young up and coming artist. They were reduced from £20 to £10 so got the 2. Then when we were in the restaurant she looked up what they actually sell for and they should be £35. So that was a real bargain . They are up on the wall aready as luckily there were 2 nails on a wall just in the right place.

We were held up for about 30 minutes on the A1 at Knebworth as the traffic for DOGFEST at Knebworth House was horrendous. I think the Super Vet chap from channel 4 was something to do with it. But journey home straightforward with no problems.

James unfortunately did not have such a good journey back from Jess this afternoon as he was shunted by a Range Rover in the fast lane (James in middle lane). The chap must have taken his eyes off the road and drifted across just as he was passing .
So a big dent on the back side. :-S Thankfully no injuries. But when I think of the speed they must have both been going it makes me feel sick as things could have been so much worse. The back bumper is hanging a bit but at least didn't come right off. James thinks he won't have to pay the excess of £180 as he was not at fault.

Oh Gill, such awful news today . I am so sorry that the cancer is terminal for OH's Brother .I do remember you all being very concerned about him a few months back.
He is so very young. I can't imagine how OH and his Mum will be feeling .It will take a while to sink in . Sadly all you can do it to be there for eachother right now . <3 <3 <3

Happy Birthday to Lacey <3 <3. I hope she has had a lovely birthday today.I'm sure she has :-D

Mel, Hockings Ice Cream !!!!! I want one NOW :-D.. Delicious clotted Cream Ice Cream yum yum. Did you get yours from the van by the seafront there at Westward Ho! ? What a pity the weather misbehaved though . I remember well the times we used to go there and get soaked by the High Tides when the waves would come over the sea wall.Great fun :-D

I better go now and see if Thomas is around. He must think we have deserted him.

Thinking of you and family Gill <3

Yes it was a picture but Alan was driving so we did'nt stop for me to take a pic.

What a terrible thing for your BIL Gill and all those close to him.

We have just got back from the meal and when we arrived and had a drink the girl said it would be 20 mins as chef liked to cook fresh. It was'nt . the only thing I think he cooked fresh was the yorkshire puds which would take about 20 mins in a hot oven. I still enjoyed it as I did'nt cook it. I had apple and ginger crumble with clotted cream for sweet which was nice.

Good Evening All

Belated Happy birthday to William and Lacey it sounds as if she really enjoyed her day.

So sorry to hear the terribly sad news about your young brother- in- law Gill and my thoughts are with you all. His poor Mum must be devastated there is nothing worse than hearing that kind of news about your own child

As you say Jane, Ruby is back to her usual mischievous self and we have toys all over the sitting room floor and beyond, She was funny earlier, picked up her small pink squeaky pig and placed it on Paul's shoulder for safe keeping, quite an honour as this is one of her favourites. Hannah's flat sounds delightful with the views towards the Shard etc. I hope they will be very happy there. It was good spotting those paintings in the Charity shop and that they turned out to be a real bargain.

Still no rain here apart from one heavy shower which lasted all of 5 mins but down to 24 degrees this morning.

I'm still not feeling 100% but I think this is more to do with not sleeping very well at the moment.

I also cooked roast beef etc for them all, I only eat the vegetables with the gravy I'm not a lover of Yorkshire puds . Becky is stressing over her mock exams tomorrow we tried to reassure her she's just the opposite from Abbie who
is still living at David's parents house.

Morning to you all, evening Kim,

Gill news that nobody wants to hear. Your poor BIL and the family. Lets hope they keep him comfortable in the coming months.

So the flat is great, so pleased for them. Being on the top floor means they won't have the task of clearing the leaves in the Autumn, and with those wonderful views across London, they are in the right position. Nice little BUY with those paintings too.

All showered and shaved, we will leave about 9.45 for the Hospital, then onto the P.O. to post Conrad's Birthday present.Jan will take it when she goes out with Ella before his B'day.

Another iffy sort of night. I was tucked up by nine and still awake at two. I was up at six, if things don't start improving I will have to go and see the quack. I only had dinner yesterday, and no breakfast this morning. I need to be put in a sack and given a good shaking up ;-) ;-) ;-)

Trust you all have a good day. xxx

Morning Frank and all,

Dry day here today with small patches of blue sky amonst the clouds.

I can't really say I have a problem with sleeping at the mo as I seem to drop off the moment my head hits the pillow. I think it is the pills I am taking for this itch. Yes still itching but it is not quite as bad as it has been.

I have LOADS of washing to do today and hope it dries. With going out day and evening two changes a day adds up.

Hope all others slept well last night and feel refreshed this morning. :-)

Well after spending three hours ar the hospital, we are home, fed and watered.

I can hardly see from my right eye. I have had 4 different drops put in my eyes, and the light he used to see behind my eyes was SO BRIGHT. I had to put a handkerchiel across my eyes to block out any light, while Ros drove home. Horrible to say the least not being able to see where you are going. It appears my left eye my have Glaucoma coming. When I go back in TWO MONTHS they will do more checks. The India doctor I had was very nice, but I had to ask him to repeat himself, as I couldn't understand him.

Ros is doing the cooking tonight, as I don't trust myself with a sharpe knife, doing the vegetables.

We are both resting up this afternoon, I know Ros's back is playing her up, and I couldn't see that well to do the stripes on my lawn. lol ;-) ;-) ;-)

Might go and lay in a darkened room for an hour, to rest this right eye. SEE you later.
