Morning to you all, Evening Kim,
Cooler, fresher morning here. In fact Ros was sitting having her tea, and asked if I could close the door as she was cold. She only had her nightie on. There I am in shorts and just comfortable.
This pet sitting can be a big responsibility, you are frightened to death that something might happen to them, that you tend to fuss even more. I know when we have JJ. if I can't see him in th garden, I wonder if he has found a way out under the fence somewhere. :-0 :-0 :-0
It wouldn't surprise me to see rain here today, the clouds seem to be gathering.
I took the trouble to put a note through Llyn's door to say "PARCEL AT No. 7 love Frank." The parcel was for her daughter, who never came hone Friday night or during the day Saturday. But someone else could have collected it.
Nothing happening here Mel, apart from preparing veg for dinner tonight, HOW very exciting !!! Roa is sitting with a large bowl full of POPPY HEADS. shaking the seeds out of the heads, she will then spread the seeds later. She loves to see them come up every year.
It's Conrad's Birthday today. Jan and Ella should just be arriving in San Pedro for a few weeks stay. Ella's Mum Jo. will travel out late July for a week or so. That's when we will have JJ. She will leave her car here and Ros will take and collect her from the airport.
Have a lovely day all, whatever you are doing. xxx

Sunny and hot here this morning. OH and I had breakfast outside on our clean veranda!! It was lovely and relaxing. OH is now mowing the little lawn and then he has a bit of rotavating in his sights! I'm not doing much! Ham in the crock pot for lunch with new pots, and peas. Gooseberry (from the garden)Fool for our pudding. They need topping and tailing so had better get on and do them!! I'm sitting outside so it's not too much of a chore!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CONRAD.X
Its baking hot here. Oh has been laying more blocks and I have dead headed some roses and cut the seed heads off the clematis in the big tubs out the front and fiddled with the sweet peas. Was just getting lunch ready when the phone rang and it was BIL to say he would be over for the digger part he forgot yesterday. He may be able to get it free for the carb. He is also bringing me the pics he took of the little hog so hopefully I will be able to send some.
I hate it when you are waiting for someone to arrive as you can't get stuck into anything else. I am also hungry and want my breakfast.

Afternoon All,
Happy Birthday Conrad! :-)
Well, it's been boiling here today, but at last a bit of respite with some slight breeze now! This morning OH did some weeding and he's done all the ironing since we got home after lunch.
On the way home we went to look at a new bungalow in the next village that's for sale. I was curious as it is an unusual design and tucked behind some of the huge old houses there. It is a 2 bed bungalow and a big minus point is that they have turned the big house in front of it into a children's nursery, so although peaceful and quiet today, it wouldn't be in the week!! :-S The afternoon sun beats down on the folding glass doors to the lounge too which I wouldn't like. The kitchen is in with the lounge which I'm not keen on but I do like the setting and airiness like a holiday home! :-) This is it if anyone wants to see it.

I have also cut OH's hair and he's down to just shorts now like Frank! I've also had a go with my new stick hoover, just along the edges of a room and love it!! Tomorrow I shall do my car!! :-)
I don't know how you manage to keep doing so much gardening in this heat Mel. It's as much as I can do to keep up with tying up the toms and cue!
I love the Owl pics Mel and those pretty hair bows Mandy.

Lovely photos Mel, particularly the owls thanks for sending them. Our little swallows are still charging about especially in the evening!! We're hoping to have another brood but they'll have to get on with it to be ready to fly in September! It looks a lovely bungalow Ann but maybe not for you! We've had a lazy day. OH finished the field fence so Cas is completely safe in both paddocks now, which means that I can take her again without having to worry about her getting through now I'm not quite as mobile. Hopefully this is only temporary!! Poldark tonight Mel! I think there is only one more after this in this series :-( Time for supper!

Afternoon All I am sat here with the fan on and the cold water bottle on my lap. Fan on in the kitchen too as I am also cooking.I really hopw this is the last of this heat now. Don't think I can cope with much more now.
Happy Birthday Conrad <3..Bet he is swealtering out there Frank.
Mel those photos of the Owls are just amazing!!!!!. And little Baby Hog is so small. It does look very cute :-D
Liz, topping and tailing goosegogs are a pain. We don't actually grow any but Fitz was saying he has picked pounds of them at his. He said (just joking ) that he would poison the plants so he doesn't have all the picking again to do next year LOL
Well ,I ended up last night bringing Benjy in bed with me as I could hear him whimpering shut in James's bedroom. He snuggled down under the duvet until J&J finally arrived home at 1.45 am . Thomas was downstairs in his usual place after doing that intimidating thing earlier when preventing Benjy from coming out of the bedrrom LOL. It was quite funny to see.
So Jess and dog are off later this evening. Train at 8.30 I think. He is a funny little thing but just far too pampered. He also loves to scoff Thomas's food if he gets the chance :-S
I am need in the kitchen

Evening all,
Another warm one here ,family came this morning and Jake has called in this afternoon with a friend hoping i think they could use the pool so Colin whipped the cover off for them and they had fun in there for nearly an hour .
Oh Mel the dear little hog :-D he has such a tiny little button nose and beady little eyes bless him , lovely photo's of the owls in flight too.
Well i thought the dress looked black in the photo Jane ,i had another good look and i think i can see it's purple now , i think silver accessories will go well with it.
Ann it looks a nice place ,i like all the glass but it would be very hot with all the sun coming in all day and quite lively when the little ones are about in the week .
Frank you asked about the flooding the other day ,no we didn't have much rain here at all ,it flooded in Wymondham which is about twenty miles or so from us and we could see the lightning that way in the afternoon . Happy Birthday to Conrad hope he has enjoyed his day . I've been shaking the seeds from my poppy heads too ,there hundreds in the heads, mine are the big pinky edged ones with a purple bit in the middle ,son wanted some for his garden .
So your all spruced up on the veranda now Liz ,it must be nice sitting out there for your breakfast . Oh Goosegogs i haven't had any for a long time ,i use to like those big ones that were slightly pink looking ,they were nice and sweet .

Trouble is Jane that although Benjy is so small, he is still a dog and needs training/discipline just as much as a big dog otherwise you risk having a spoilt snappy adult, particularly boy dogs! It is hard work though!! Will Jess have him neutered? Watching Country File, fee a bit sorry for those goats!!

Good morning "FRIENDS and AUSSIE FRIEND KIM"
Was in bed by 9.00 pm.I haven't watched any Poldark, so left Ros to it. Radio was rubbish so I got my head down. Roa disturbed me at Midnight, so I got up and rad till 2.00 am I was up again at 5.00 had a COT and went out and watered the garden and greenhouse. I was back in doors by 6.30 made more tea and sat reading by book until Ros came out at 8.30 am.
Those photo's af the HOG and Owls are lovely Mel, It makes you with they never grow up <3 <3 <3
Jane it's nowhere as hot this weekend as it was during the week.. I certainly enjoyed being out side this morning in the coolness.
We haven't grown soft fruit since we moved here 20 years ago. There is a blackberry bush up the back fence, and it seems there might be fruit on that this year. I was never that keen on Goosegogs I always found them to tart, for my sweet tooth. LOL LOL.
Hows things with you Gill, I don't remember seeing you here yesterday, I trust all is well.
Liz, How much land do you have at your place, I know you have the paddock, but I see you mow the little lawn, and grow vegetables, so can't be that small. !!
I am starting to feel peckish, so I think a Bacon Sarnie and another COT is in order.
See you all later.

Morning Frank and all,
We've had a few short sharp showers this morning and it is much more comfortable now being cooler.
Oh ordered a strimmer on wheels which he is putting together as I type. He said I should be able to use it. He has never let me near one before.
Fingers are very achy this morning from where they join my hand. I think I have been forgettin g to take my jointace.
Sorry you had a bad night again Frank and hope tonight will be better. Is your book good?
My pc has updated this morning and it took ages.

Mel, I have bought about 6 of Martina Cole books from Ebay. Some look like they have never been opened. It's very easy reading and I can pick them up and read a few chapters as and when I want.
Last night was as much my own fault, as a bad night. I didn't do the watering as I should have done last night, so made up my mind I would do it this morning. As it's turned out it wouldn't have mattered. The weather is much cooler today with a good breeze.(that will please LADY JANE) LOL LOL.
Ros has a line of sheets and pillow cases out, with a coloureds wash in the machine. She is in the greenhouse cutting back some of the leaves, to let the sun get to the fruits.
Mine does it every week, but I don't think I am on line when it happens. I think Conrad set it up for me ages ago.
I see we are taking to ourselves Mel, So I will pop off for a coffee and a bite to eat.

Frank our garden is about 1/2 acre, with a garage, greenhouse biggish veg patch raspberry canes, strawberry bed and two gooseberry bushes and various fruit trees. We've got a lot of parking space leading onto a small lawn with flower beds. Beyond that is Merlins yard, stable where the swallows nest, a big barn, and three outhouses for garden machinery, a feed store and OH' s workshop. The two paddocks amount to about 3/4 acre with a field shelter.. At the back of the bungalow is a path hedge and flower bed. It takes a bit of keeping up with but we do get our hedge cut and a chap comes now and again to help with the never ending weeding!! Today is pretty windy but I've found a sheltered spot outside in the sun to read and top up on my vitamin D!!

Tell me about the weeding Liz, tomorrow in Garden waste bin. Ours is full and I have FIVE BLACK BIN BAGS FULL to find homes for when the neighbours. Roa has had a right go on the right hand bed in the back garden. That's a fair bit of land. and with the paddock and Merlin's field. That must keep you busy.
It started to turn cooler earlier, but now the sun is out and the breeze has dropped. It's getting quite muggy.
Ros has just picked THREE TOMS for her tea tonight. She is having cold beef and salad, I'm having shell on prawns with a bit of salad, and B & Butter.
I put up a BUG SCREEN on the conservatory door a couple of weeks ago. It's started to disintegrate, for no particular reason, so Ros is putting up another as we speak.
Quite a bit of dark cloud hanging around. Washing is all in and folded up. I think it's time for a cuppa and a read.

Just having a cuppa myself now Frank. I was going up the border but I cleaned out the smelly hog in my shed and it took me longer than I thought as I found quite a big tick on its side. I have covered it in vaseline popped it back in its box after washing it all out. It has been trying to climb the sides so I think it is now time to let it go in the garden but I must make sure the tick is off first.
