I think it'll be ok Mel, our present bed which we've had for years has drawers underneath for bed linen and towels and they've always been fine. Our caravan had an ottoman bed in which we kept all sorts, and there was never any issues with damp. Our log home is raised well off the ground is very well insulated including the floor, not remotely damp and our bedroom has fitted carpet so I can't foresee any problems particularly as the bed linen etc will be kept there, so it'll be opened regularly! Lack of storage in the house is a bit of a problem for us, so it'll be nice to have sufficient. I can never understand ruining a programme for someone else by talking through it. Why would anyone want to do that?!! If one of us isn't interested in something, we just find something else to do, book, laptop, whatever! Time to feed Cas! My job tonight! We take it in turns then she doesn't just hassle one person - well that's the idea!! Curry tonight, with rice, nice and easy!!

Sounds like most of men are sulky Sues lol. It must be a man thing . Frank are you a sulker? I bet you are glad to get straight again after your overnight visitors. It can't be easy not having a spare room or bed. Now Hannah is not living here we do have a spare double for anyone coming to stay.People think because this is a big house we must have more bedrooms but it is only a 3 bed.If Chris didn't have the front room downstairs as his study we could have that as a fourth.
Gill,is a Queen size bed in between a double and a King? I am never sure. You will love your new King Liz. We got ours when we had the bedroom done a couple of years back and it is so much nicer than the double.I have to have my own space in a bed and hate it when I am too close to Chris as I get too hot.
Everything back to normal now. (nothing from Waitrose Liz ). Unless a large joint of Beef and 2 packs of Chicken Breasts count :-D :-D. I didn't turn them away LOL
Well we only had a few showers today. So it wasn't too bad . It looks like the sun might be coming out now. Poor Thomas. Each time it stopped raining he went out but was racing back every time there was a heavy shower. He can run like the wind to get in :-D
My clutchbag arrived today and it is very pretty even though a bit smaller than I thought it was. I have a pic if anyone would like to see.
Beef Stroganoff tonight ,so I just need to go and get it on the go.I can't believe it is 5.30 already.

Oh good Jane, glad you're back to normal. OH isn't a sulker as such, but he tends to see an insult where none is intended! Can be tiresome/boring, like a child!!! You'll have to settle for the meat!!!! ?? Yes, I'm looking forward to having a bigger bed, particularly with my gammy hip as turning over is a bit of a performance and I need more room! I wouldn't mind single beds, but OH would never stand for it and see it as an insult!!!! The curry is underway and we're having a drink after a rather boring day!

Evening all,
It's been a funny old day here bright and sunny then cloudy and drizzly ,it's quite muggy too, we did sit out or a while this afternoon to have our cuppa and the sun was really hot we had to put the brolly up.
Poor Ros getting lost last night ,i bet she was getting worried wondering if she'd be there in time to pick them up . You set them up for the journey home with a good breakfast inside them .
Jane glad to hear peace reigns again in the Rose household :-D I'd like to see your bag please .
So busy in the garden again Gill ,i get itchy if i touch christmas trees i come out all blotchy so i have to watch what i touch , best to leave the cutting and bagging up to OH and Sandra as you say you can do your bit on the border when they've finished . Naughty Toby teasing Ruby ,she'll get her own back when he's not looking :-D

Ha! Ha! Liz . Chris is always saying single beds is a good idea ,just to get a decent nights sleep. Sometimes when we go away we might have a room with single beds and I have to say I quite like it but don't say lol. If it is Chris that books a hotel he will often go for 2 singles. I always go for a King :-D. I am not really bothered as long as the beds are comfortable :-D I seem to remember sharing a single bed with him back in the day when I was living in a shared flat. Now that was NOT comfortable even though we were a lot slimmer then :-D But being in love, who cared LOL :-D
Chris and I are going down to Fitz's tomorrow for lunch. That will a nice chance . Also Chris will be able to see his painting of the cottage up on the wall :-D

Ah yes Jane, those far off days!! Long before gammy hips, snoring, moans and groans about heaven knows what, and of course slimmer!! I've thought that I might get a bolster to put down the middle of this bed but I don't think it'd be a goer! Even the suggestion of single beds provokes a huff, and I think a bolster would have the same effect. I put it down to unaffectionate divorced parents, but who knows!!

Evening All,
OH my word, don't think all men are the same......no sulking here, bless him, he'd rather talk me to death!! lol. Do these men sulk childishly with work colleagues or their staff if they are managers after a disagreement? They can hardly behave like that there can they? So if men don't sulk with other people why do they disrespect their wives by sulking and why do wives accept being treated this way?? Of course respect cuts both ways and if partners say nasty, personal things or are insulting then that isn't on either as people will withdraw when things get personal. Did they set this example to their children too?
An 'insult' Liz. What planet is he on? Does he think the Duke of Edinburgh is insulted? Over 25% of couples now sleep in separate beds and 10% have their own rooms (like the Queen). There is a strong feeling that it is only other people's opinions and assumptions about their relationship that stops others from doing it too.The National Federation of Home Builders reckon better houses are requested with 2 master bedrooms these days and the number has been increasing since 1990.
OH and I lived in 2 houses 15 miles apart for 10 years and when we moved in together we set up separate bedrooms from the start as we knew we slept better like that and both had stressful, demanding jobs and needed our sleep and OH would leave before 6.00am some mornings!! It doesn't mean that we don't cuddle up in one bed or the other in the evening or the morning, just that we sleep better in our own bed, although I don't sleep well anyway now! Just think, the window can be open when you want, the bedclothes stay put, no-one waking you when they turn over or pop to the loo in the night or get up early. You can sit and read, watch tv at ungodly hours if you want, no snoring and no nasty aromas!! You don't catch each others bugs so easily either. No arguments about all those things. :-) :-)
My dad could sulk for 2-3 weeks, but it was fear that stopped mum tackling it as his temper was explosive.

We've just had thunder and lighting and such a downpour of rain, so much that one of my solar lights is playing up, I think the rain may of got inside, it happened to another one the other week, that one was okay once it dried out, so I hope this one is the same.
What a lovely clutch bag Jane, Sandra said it's very pretty. I love bags and also boxes for some reason. I used to collect boxes, little trinket ones and nice ones for storage, but I ended up with so many I had to get rid of some of them in the end as I had no where to put them all.
I've seen those beds on the TV Liz, it'll be perfect to store all your bedding. I have a king size quilt on a double bed as I find OH takes most of it so at least I get some on me during the winter months. Hope you find some nice new bedding now.
A queen size bed Jane is between a single and double which is great if my mum comes to stay as she is used to a double bed so she's still got a bit of room, rather than sleeping in a single bed.
Yes, it's nice having Sandra to help Anne, our garden is quite big so it's a bit to much for me to do it all on my own. Plus like I said to OH and Sandra it's their garden to so it's only fair we all share the work. The garden looks so big now the hedge has been cut down. It started raining earlier, quite a heavy shower so that stopped the work for today. OH is doing a bit at a time when the weather isn't to bad, hopefully it won't take to long to sort out. It sounds like Toby is being a little minx teasing Ruby, it must of been fun to watch though......bless them.
I ended up having a sleep this afternoon to try and get rid of my headache so didn't get round to watching the sweet programme Mel, or the craft programme either. So it looks like it'll be tomorrow now. I did however manage to catch up with Poldark.
Just watching the end of Big Brother with Sandra then I'm off to bed. Night Night

We recorded the Sweet programme Mel as I kept going to sleep! We're up early as we're off to South Wales to collect our bed and we have to be there by 10.30! I think all couples have their own way of conducting their relationship Ann, which is actually nothing to do with anyone else, and none of us have the monopoly of, or being on the receiving end of a stressful job, often accompanied by additional family pressures. What suits one couple doesn't necessarily suit another, it's all a matter of personal choice. Tbh neither of us would entertain separate bedrooms, or separate anything else come to that, but again that's our choice, as is everything else within any marriage/relationship. Your garden must look a treat Gill, can you take some pics?

Morning Liz morning all
Dull day here but OH said that's better than full sun with the job he is doing cutting the top of the hedge off. He's out there now, hoping to finish off the top today. Once he's done that he can make a start on the front of the hedge. He's hoping to fix the framework for the screening to the trunks of the trees that made the hedge, we did that on the other side and it's stronger than the one we did attached to the fence. It looks so different now as he's taking at least 2 foot off the top, I can't believe how much lighter the garden is now. The only down side is it's windier, but you can't have it all.
I was thinking of taking some photo's of the garden Liz but I don't know how to put them onto my laptop to send to people. Michelle did it for me last time but she hasn't spoken to us since last October and I think she has moved now, she hasn't told anyone her new address so there's no way of contacting her as she ignores her phone if I ring her. I think she written it down for me but I'm not sure where I put the instructions. If I can work out how to do it I'll email some to everyone.
I watched Love your Garden last night and when I looked at my garden, with the flowers and plants being quite small, apart from a few at the back, it didn't look as good as the garden on the TV. I might see if I can find some bigger flowers or buy some bulbs that grow high. I was thinking of putting some pots together that have the same flowers in them, that way they will look bushier. I'm sure as the years go by the plants will grow and the garden will look more mature.
Could the place you are getting the bed from deliver your bed Liz, it's a long way to go to collect it. Do you have a van? Will you have to build the bed, they look quite heavy when I saw them on the TV. If you do be careful you don't hurt yourself <3

Morning all,
Pale grey skies here today and it has been raining in the night but I don't think it was too heavy. There are a few patches of blue and I think as I type the sun is trying to come through.
I have one of those dozy flies in here this morning but it always disappears when I get the swot out. I shall have to do the fly pen around which will mean more work clearing up the dead bodies as Liz knows as she uses one too. OP its a buzzy one also!!
Now where's my swot???????

Good Morning to you all, Evening Kim,
No sulky Frank. I just say my piece and get on with life. Like most couples with have our days, but I can't remember any disagreement going on and on.
We have another little dog this morning. ABBEY she's a terrier of some sort, but very affectionate, As I sit here she is fussing around my legs for a stroke. Tracy next door has a little job for a couple of hours each Thursday, and as her Mum and Dad are away until tomorrow, she didn't want to leave her on her own. She's now sitting under my chair.
Mel, Don't FORGET the Fireman's Programme tonight at 9.00 pm. I bet your OH will want to see it.
That's a good old journey for Liz and Ian to collect their bed. I would have thought the Company would have had a delivery service.
The new Mattress we bought last year, is so firm that you don't feel the other person get in or out of the bed. I have never been disturbed by Ros turning over in th night. We haven't room in our bungalow for twin beds. It was a two bedroom when we moved in, but did away with one to make a through lounge/dinner. Lets face it you don't live in the bedroom, well not our age ;-) ;-) ;-)
Jan and her sisters are sorting out the funeral for her dad. They have found that he had no Life insurance, so between them they have to find the money.
Nothing sort of a day here. Very overcast and quite a breeze. I hope that the breeze will keep the rain away.
We have various fly swots, plastic one and an electric one that looks like a Tennis Racquet. When you swot a fly with that you get a flash, from the strings.
That garden must have cost a fortune on T.V. Last night. I hope the old chap lives long enough to enjoy it. <3 <3
No plans for today, Ros got all her washing dried yesterday, so I expect the iron will be out later.
After a lovely ,Roast Leg of Pork last night, I think tonight will be Cold Pork Chips and either corn on the cob or baked beans.

If oh sees a program on firemen he always comment on the way they should be doing their job. He trained a lot of firemen and was chief of the station. I think it just frustrates him when they don't do things the right way for the safety of everyone involved.

We've been home about 1/2hour! The bed was flat packed and ready for us to pick up. It was only the other side of Chepstow which isn't that far from us on the motorway. It's still on our trailer waiting to be moved to the spare room prior to being reassembled in our bedroom! Now for a mattress and some bedding! We opted to pick it up Frank otherwise it would have meant waiting two weeks for delivery which we didn't want to do. Better give OH a hand!

Yes, Frank lets hope the old chap lives long enough to enjoy his garden. I must admit I was in tears when Alan was telling us about the man's life, but wasn't he a good artist, his painting were wonderful. He loved his new studio didn't he? So you have another dog to play with now then, that was nice of you to look after Abbie, it will stop Tracy worrying while she is at work.
Did you manage to swot the dozy fly Mel, I've had a few dozy flies landing on me this year, so I just walked outside and let them fly away. There was one though that took a while to get rid of.
Sandra and I are watching the Craft programme then we'll watch the sweet programme after that. OH is getting on with the hedge, the sun is out now so I hope it doesn't get to hot for him.
Going to get a sandwich now.

Suns out here too now and there's a breeze.
I don't think they show enough of the sweet making on that program. We don't want to see the sugar cane growing in the fields all the time and houses etc just the processes they used. Bit disappointed with it really.
Think I may do a bit of ironing before lunch and I might go to Mole Valley this afternoon as oh wants grass seed and I want some seed and potting compost to put some of the nerines in pots.

We still haven't watched the Sweet programme yet Mel, we watched the Craft one but wasn't that keen on it, maybe next weeks will be better. That was early for your oil to be delivered.
OH has finished cutting the top of the hedge and it looks really good. We have decided to leave it as a hedge and make the border in front of it wider so there is room to walk behind the plants to cut the hedge when it needs doing. OH has just finished tidying up, there is about 3 loads of rubbish to go to the tip now. Poor OH he was putting the ladders down and caught his finger, it looks a bit of a mess and he thinks he might lose his nail. Luckily he managed to take his signet ring off as last time he hurt his finger he had to have his wedding ring cut off when his finger swelled up. I've put his ring away for safe keeping.
