The © is on my Kindle key board Mel. You can change the main keyboard into one that just has 'signs' by hitting a sort of squiggle key, then you just hit an ABC key to get it back to the original. It's the same for Emoticans!
Yes, Stella is quite middle aged now, but still pretty lively! She's a cross collie/springer spaniel! lovely temperament, but is used to a young lively family always on the go, so rather expects life to be action packed! L has trained her really well and she's a good obedient girl, but not for me this year!!:

Good morning to my little fries, Evening Kim,

It's a good job I cancelled our dinner out. We didn't have dinner till after 7.00 pm. Harvey never stopped all afternoon.

I opened the door this morning and it didn't scrape on the sill. The Sadalin is still tacky so I hope the air will dry it off. When it's dry I will give it another couple of coats.

I went OTT with the dinner last night, I cooked so many vegetables, there was hardly space for the Rasts, Meat and Pudding. Even Harvey couldn't eat it all. It's such a shame because I hate wasting food.

The weather forecast isn't good for this week. Rain expected most days. It's Jan's fathers funeral in a few minutes so hope it's dry there.

Harvey managed to retrieve the family photo's last night. I have been looking at them this morning. Some of my Dad in his Navy uniform bought a lump to my throat :-( :-(

I see we had rain in the night, everywhere is damp underfoot, and doesn't seem like brightening up. This coming weekend is the Blisworth Canal Festival, so hope it's dry as we get tens of THOUSANDS of visitors every year.

Off for my shower, enjoy your day whatever you are doing xx

When you posted this morning Frank I WAS SITTING in the solicitors. Sorry must have his the caplock.

Well I have to have a survey on the house in Ilford. The lady in the bottom flat wants to renew her lease.

Suns out here and we brought fish and chips home with us which is now all cleared away so I am going to attempt some gardening.

You must be pleased Harvey got your photos back Frank. Have you got a scanner so you could scan them all and print them out?

Billy no mates HERE. <3 <3

I have emptied another bags of Potato's and stood and scraped the lot, including the tiny one. Ros eats those like sweat and I like them with eggs and bacon. I also picked more tomatoes.

Val (Sids wife) rang to ask for some toms. as Ros told her not to buy any, as we have plenty. So she went home with new potato's scraped nd ready to cook this evening and a bag of Tomatoes.

Bedding all washed and on the line, must keep an eye on it as it looks like rain.

Ros is sweeping up Harvey's mess from yesterday. He had a trestle table in the drive drilling and cutting the door, and left all the shavings etc.. As it was so late when he finished, she told him to leave it.

Had two more books turn up today, so my stock is back to normal. The ones I have read are going out to the Air Ambulance tomorrow with TWO Bags of cloths. I bet she will be replacing them soon ;-) ;-) ;-)

Back to my book for a while before I start thinking of dinner.

Morning All
Well I am really cheesed off. I had a blood test booked at 8.25 this morning at the surgery and left home a good 45 minutes before then knowing how traffic is bad is at the moment because of road closures . I was late :-| just by 4 mins ,but because I was over 2 mins late I lost the appointment !!!!!! 2 MINUTES. No more blood test appointements available until next week now.
So I was going to drive up the the hopsital and have my blood done there BUT the traffic was at a standstill so I have come home and had some Toast and Marmite and a big mug of tea. I will now ring the Council Offices and see if there are any available appointments there.

Chris will be steering clear of me today LOL
Rain Rain and Rain all day by the look of things. That means it will have to be housework :-S

What is it like where you all are? I'll be back later :-D

Two minutes Jane!!!! that's ridiculous! I think I'd be having a quiet word with the practice manager! We're like you though with b****y road works all over the place, making a journey of 6 miles take god knows how long! Even in our village last week BT had the road up!!!!
This weather is really getting us down! even Merlin looks miserable on yet another gloomy morning! Cas remains cheerful! annoyingly so!! :-| OH is off out to a while so I think I shall clean the inside windows - happy days!!!

Morning all,

I won't say good because I see both you girls are having a moan this morning.

We have a little sunshine and blue and grey skies. It rained quite heavily last night before I went to bed.

You talking about roads. The road through the village where I buy my paper, (just two miles) had the raod up for two weeks just past the school. Usually you can get past for access but no they put wire screening right across the road. We had to do another two miles just to get to the hsop from the other side. Keith in the shop said they were so quiet that two weeks people just were'nt bothering to go all the way around and certainly not the kids. This was for the sewers. When I looked when I wen t down on Saturday they only worked on a hole about 6 foot by tow and a half and it did'nt go right across the road. Still I suppose we do get huge lorries through there but when you had to go around the other way the road is so narrow if you met a huge lorry you had to go on one part of a grass verge and you should have seen the state of that where all the cars had had to go. You would never get two lorries down this road or the other one even further along.

Enough said the road is open now and it makes us appreciate it all the more now.

Shopping day today and I think I shall go to Lidl.

Afternoon all,

Not to bad a day here ,dry at the moment so the washings on the line but i think we're in for it later, we've been shopping ,i've picked some runners ,toms and a big cue before it rains .

Jane thats ridiculous not letting you have the blood done , whats two minutes , so the next person must have gone in early as you weren't there , which means you could have gone in after them , jobs worth !!!

We've had roads closed here while they resurface them ,now we have lots of blooming old stones which fly up and crack your window if you go to fast .

Nearly lunch time already ,think we'll have some cheese and biscuits today .

No rain here either! In fact a much better day than I thought it would be! I've cleaned those pesky windows and they do look better! This afternoon I'm doing some weeding!! OH is busy in his workshop, so that's him happy and out of the way!!!
Have you recovered Jane?!! I can see how fed up you felt!
Our little birds have been very busy this morning and the swallows have four babies in their nest - their second brood!!
Spaghetti for supper, nice and easy!

Very late today, How re you all. Haven't read the posts.

Bad night again last night, still reding at 3.30 am and was up at 7.00 am.

We have "BIGGLES" here for the day. His owners have gone to Londan for the day and asked if we would have him. I think he is a "SNOUSER" (sp) such a lovely friendly, quiet dog. He was dropped of at 7.45 this morning and hasn't left me side all day.

Ros went out for a while this morning with Carolyn but as the weather was so bad they didn't stay out long. He has been making a fuss of her now she's home.

It hasn't stopped raining here since before I got up and is still raining now. Gawd knows what the fields will be like for parking for the Canal Festival this weekend. I bet they will need a few tractors to pull the cars out. !!!

Nothing to report this end, so will get back to my book.

See you later, xx

Well it has poured all day here but at last it is let up enough for Thomas to go out.
He has a face on him today that is for sure. it made 2 of us LOL

Yes Liz I have calmed down now :-D I have got an appointment tomorrow morning at the Council Offices for 10.20. At least there I won't have to go the way I had to go this morning. So no road closures.
I know at the surgery that blood samples are collected around 11am so I do understand that they have to have no hanging around waiting for patients. But as Mandy said surely I could have just swapped places with someone else. I was just literally 4 mins late and then when the receptionist said 2 minutes late is the cut off for Blood Tests I thought she was kidding!!. I think in future I shall go the the Council Offices .I don't mind paying the £1 parking fee.It is also closer. The lsat appointment there is 11 so blood samples must be collected just after that the same as the surgery.
I worked off my frustration by cleaning the inside of some of the windows and frames.
so a good job done . They were filthy.I even did the metal bits where all the muck collects when the windows are open. Washing done and dried (in the dryer). Had a mad and crazy play with Thomas when he suddenly got the wind up his tail and was going for all the wires and dashing behind the settees and chair. He obviously had a lot of pent up energy!!!. No rabbits to hunt in the house :-D.. He could be making up for it now :-S
Tomorrow looks not to pleasant either. Is Merlin kept in his Barn in this awful weather Liz?. Or does he get out for a bit of a leg stretch? Has Cas managed to get out now?

I think this is the time of year when a lot of the road works get done hense so many road closures. The trouble with the big closure in town is that they are doing repairs to the Railway Bridge(not the roads). It has caused total grid lock in the town at times and I think it carries on until September !! We just all have to be patient and grit our teeth even though it is all very frustrating :-D.These things have to be done.

New series starting to night. Trust me.... Looks my kind of thing :-D

Afternoon All,

I think it was raining a lot of the night here and it's only just eased off. I looked out of the kitchen window when we got back this morning and my lovely Golden Lanterns Leycestria that was 6 foot high and just at it's best had keeled over and was lying across the gravel!! :-0 OH went up the garden to try and salvage it, but it took two of us in the pouring rain to lift and tie it back to a stake for now. Then we trimmed it back to lessen the weight and also cut a lot of branches back on the berried bushes which were also sagging.....6 plastic sacks full. We could see why it happened when we saw the base of it was right up to the neighbour's fence. It meant as it grew bushier it could only grow forwards, so all the weight was at the front which tipped it forwards. I planted everything a foot away from the neighbour's fence, when I put the shrubs in, but when the neighbour renewed his fence a few years ago, he also straightened the wavy bits and naughtily moved the new posts onto our garden behind the shrubs to straighten it. It is why his fence curves our way now from his end fence post!! :-S Sodden clothes are drying in the conservatory now and OH is wallowing in a bath of 'muscle soak!' lol.

Jane, you would think they would have a bit more leeway than 2 minutes!! It can take 10 minutes to get your car parked sometimes and especially with knowing there are traffic holdups with road works. I would have been annoyed about that too.

We had BT doing all the village and down the close last year and that caused chaos with parking. Now there is scaffolding up around one of our Co-op stores in the village. You could drive in and then out the opposite end of the carpark, but not now the scaffolding is there, so people are struggling to turn around to come back out when it is full.

I slept like a top again last night (I wonder where that saying came from?). I think it must be all the concentration doing painting that is tiring my brain out!!

I hope the weather dries up for the Festival Frank. It is such a shame when people work so hard to set these things up and then the weather spoils things. As you say fields soon turn into a bog if they are sodden.

I did enjoy Poldark on Sunday and am looking forward to the next series.

Frank

Frank Report 8 Aug 2017 18:37

Well what a horrible, miserable day here. Poor "BIGGLES" has only been in the garden for a p. I was not going walkies in this rain.

I cooked some lovely pork loin chop type things this evening with OVEN chips and B Beans. Both of us ended up throwing our dinners away. Ros was sure the pork didn't taste right, and the oven chips were an absolute disaster, no taste to them whatsoever. So the rest of the bag has gone in the bin. Will have to try yours Jane. ;-) ;-)

It's turned very muggy now, I will be stripping off anytime soon, and putting shorts or dressing gown on. Was thinking of going to watch the football, but decided against it. It will mean Ros taking me and collecting me later. I don't mind her coming to collect me, but not take me as well. She reconds I am becoming a HERMIT. !!!!

It does seem strange not having to slam the conservatory door. It closes as good as any door inside. Good job done, Harvey.

Back to my book, and give the dog a bit of fuss.

Well we had a little rain this afternoon but not really enough to wet the ground ,now we have lovely evening sunshine .

Jane it seems strange going to the council offices to have your blood done i have never heard of that before but at least you'll get it done now .
You have been busy cleaning ,Colin was saying the other day our windows could do with a clean in the inner bits near the hinges and all round the edges .
I think Trust Me which starts tonight looks like it could be good .

Has anyone seen Normal for Norfolk ? Documentary series following eccentric gentleman farmer Desmond MacCarthy as he struggles to keep his 17th-century manor home afloat, while holding on to the country traditions of his childhood , the second series started last week ,his mother is 101 .

Ann the painting is lovely ,is that the one your entering into the Competition ?
That was a bit naughty of your neighbour moving his posts onto your side .
What a shame the rain has taken your plant over that's the trouble when it rains so hard it soon takes things down .

Yes I'm glad you reminded me Jane, I must record it. I thought it strange to go to council offices to have a blood test too Mandy. It's either the surgery or hospital here I think. I did notice that we have a dentist in our Sainsbury's the other day though!

Yes, that is the painting I hope to enter Mandy as well as the portrait. Now I have to clear up the mess I've made with paint tubes and brushes and paper everywhere. :-) We seem to have another fresh lot of cobwebs and I pulled back the duvet to get in bed the other night and a big dark spider ran out. I swept it off the bed with my hand and it promptly ran underneath it!! I find the edges of UPVC windows are quite fiddly to get in all the corners. This seems a good week for a clean up though if there's to be more rain and it's cooler as well. OH said tonight that he thought it was more like Autumn!

I haven't noticed that prog Mandy but it sounds good so I'll try and remember to look for it.
