I have got on really well this morning. I have hoovered every room in the house and dusted so now I feel great. Then oh came in for lunch and his back was covered in woodshavings. I sent him straight back outside to clean it off.
I even cleaned the hoover out and the filters and gave it a haircut so it is put away all nice and clean for the next time it comes out.
Oh usually gives it a blast with compressed air but I did'nt want to disturb him as he has been playing in the workshop learning to carve wood now. He did quite a nice owl to go on the shed and I must get a pic of it. I gave him some teddy bear eyes and he put those on it.

Oh wood carving Mel, We have an owl (quite big) carved from a large piece of tree. Sits on the patio. We bought it last year at the Canal Festival. This chap does them with a chain saw. How in OH doing his ?? There were some lovely carvings at the Garden Centre where we met Simon yesterday. I think these were carved with Chisels.
I have done both lawns, and feel completely Knackered. My hip and leg feel that they don't belong to me. It's the right one again. (stroke side)
John has just rung to say he was coming round to take me for a spin in the JAG, I made an excuse that I was all in my muck and was just going in the shower. I don't need to be driven round the Country lanes at high speed, thank you !!!!
You have got the cleaning bug Mel. Roa steam cleaned the bathroom and kitchen floors this morning, so it must be catching.
A big line of washing is blowing away in the breeze. So I had better go and see what's dry, and bring it in and fold it up. What a good boy I am. LOL

Afternoon All,
Nice and sunny here today so the washing is drying nicely. The face looks fine today Frank.......don't know about smooth as a baby's btm! I have slathered lots of moisturiser on so hopefully it won't peel! Yes I thought the clay mask would be fine being natural, but not so. The trouble is they seem to have to add something to everything these days!
Frank I'm sure you could get a local gardener to pop round once or twice to keep your plot in order next year while you are away and you could ask at the docs about your medication. It sounds too good an opportunity to miss having a longer stay than usual for your 40th. It will be great too if you get to see S & S's barge, but be careful getting on and off.....you don't want to be going A over T into the canal!! :-0 lol. I hope your tummy is feeling better now. I am wondering which car John will be driving to go to your meal? It is very handy having more than one in case one breaks down!
Hannah has plenty of time to consider her options then Jane. I would imagine the next thing she is doing would be quite challenging too and maybe upsetting.
We have had to ask the pest control lady to come back, she's coming today at 5.00pm. I spotted a few wasps had come into the conservatory yesterday and noticed quite a few flying around the runners as I was picking some this morning. I watched them for a minute or two and they are flying through a gap in our ridge tiles near the gutter so I expect there is a nest in the loft!!! With my experience with wasps last year I want them OUT!! I suppose the next expense will be to get the ridge tiles checked and some mortar renewed as we have noticed some bits that are missing or loose.

Afternoon all,
Got a bit of catching up to do with reading the posts ,yesterday the internet was playing up so i couldn't get on here .
Congratulations to Hannah or should i say Dr Rose , she's put in all the work s o well done .
Mel I've had a good polish and hoover through today too ,i had a go with the cobweb brush ,last night just as we were off to bed i spotted a huge spider on the ceiling ,happened to turn and look up the other way and there was another !! So then i started to look incase there was another and blow me we found two more !!
I was only saying to Colin this afternoon we haven't had many wasps this year ,they must be all your way Ann, good idea to get the lady in to sort them out as after your experience a few weeks ago you don't want to take any chances. I hope your face feels better today ,did you leave the face pack on to long do you think?
Enjoy your meal out tonight Frank and be careful what you have to eat if you've had a bit of tummy trouble. Colin's had shoes from Pavers and said they are really comfortable ,i'm very tempted with the ones from Hotters my sister has them and says they are really comfy .
I keep thinking of our Shirl ,she must be over here by now i should think and catching up with friends and family .

Afternoon All I have been doing a bit of cleaning today too. It must be the day for it. I was thinking that the bannisters and door handles were all feeling very sticky. I think it must be all the cream I have to put on my hands that does it. Hannahs room is all done now .My word it really did need a good clean in there.
Ann,I am so pleased your face is ok today. I was worried about you knowing how sometimes you have these allergic reactions.
So it is a Chinese tonight then Frank. Is this the one you said you had a really good meal at last time? Enjoy :-D.Hope the tummy stays good. Does your pal John tend to whizz around then in his Jag? I hope he doesn't come a cropper if he is going too fast just trying to show off.
Mandy we have only seen a few wasps around here and a couple of dead ones in the house.I bet the neighbours with all their Plums will have loads of wasps. All our Apple Trees are right down the bottom of the garden too so well away from the house. I hope you get your new lot of wasps sorted soon Ann.
Something has been going on here this afternoon. Not in our road but on the way into town. There must have been half a dozen Police cars with lights and sirens going all heading the same way. I almost hit the side of one at the top of my road when I went off on the Green Traffic light as one of the Police cars came straight through the Red on the main road.I had to jam my brakes on pretty smartish . The police driver did give me a thumbs up sign as he flew past :-D My heart was in my mouth as I could have quite easily hit the side of the car. I hear there are Travellers parked up somewhere on Ise Lodge (Frank will know ) so maybe it was something to do with them.
Frank ,we aren't going out for a meal when H&G are here. They won't arrive tomorrow until 7 or 8 and then on Saturday Hannah is out to some do at lunch time so heaven knows what time she will be in. So I will be doing 2 nice meals. (hopefully :-D) I got some balloons that light up and a congratulations banner.I forgot to get a balloon pump so had to get that today.
Had my eyebrows tidied this afternoon and a few odd blonde hairs on my chinny chin chin zapped with electrolysis this afternoon ,so with my hair cut and that done I am sorted beauty wise for the wedding on the 2nd.
Tomorrow it is off to Boughton House with Fitz for the 1pm tour.If I had known Hannah was coming tomorrow I wouldn't have booked it as i will have plenty to do with getting this meal ready. But I will get all the ingredients weighed out tonight ,Onions sliced etc so that will save me a bit of time.It is all a little bit faffy.I am not too good with faffy LOL
I think it still feels a bit on the humid side today although a tiny bit fresher. I think I heard thought that the humid weather might be coming back :-S.

Well BusyIzzy has been and done her stuff with the wasps! She said the same as you Mandy that there haven't been many wasps this year. She thinks they will just be later this year. :-S We just have to avoid the nest for 48 hours now so the conservatory windows are firmly shut and at least the runners won't need picking for a couple of days after doing them this morning. I keep finding lots of webs everywhere with tiny spiders in them.
I remember those transfers you put in a saucer. I think I had some that you could put on your arm and peel the backing off.
I got on well this morning and have turned up 2 pairs of OH's trousers and 4 pairs of mine altogether. I gave the machine a good oiling too and it sounded better after.
My first OH was a devil for bringing shavings and sawdust inside Mel. They used the suction pipe off the dust extractor to get the worst off after work, but he was always doing stuff at home with wood and it wasn't easy to get out of long pile carpets. I started to make a carved wooden rocking horse years ago and he stuck layers of wood together and I drew a horse's head which he then cut out for me so I could carve it. Well, I had a few carving chisels (still have them!) and started to shape the nose, but I couldn't believe how hard it was to cut, even with sharp chisels and it wasn't a hardwood either. In the end I had to give up and it was one of the things that went to the tip when I moved here! It would be nice to see a pic of the Owl with the 'eyes'. Hope you got your elbows today! lol.
I wonder what all the police cars were about Jane? Sometimes you can hear them but just don't know where they are coming from till the last minute! Good job you braked in time.

Ann, it was a close shave with me and the Police car !!!!!I am talking just a couple of feet !!!. If that. So Waspies are sorted again. Hopefully 48hrs will see the last of them. I don't get wood shavings being brought into the house. Just grass ,hedge cuttings :-S I wish Chris would brush himself off and take his shoes off. He says he does. But he lies LOL I then have the clearing up to do with the trail of 'bits' :-S

I am back from Holsworthy got the chickens food and three elbows for oh. He has just looked at them and they are the wrong size!!!!!!!! He gave me a peice of the water pipe too and I forgot it and left it in the car. He said the inner liners were the wrong size as well. What am I like, I am so cross with myself because I don't go to Holsworthy much now. I also bought myself another Heuchera in Mole Valley it is one I have had before which I think has given up on me this year. Its called Marmalade.
I went into Tofs in the town and bought myself a nice thin edge to edge cardy in a nice mauve colour. I still have it on it is so comfy. The only thing is the arms are a bit long. Its a nice long one and it was oly £15 and I got my scratch card but did'nt get three smily faces, boo hoo. I am taking whatever is offered now after them tearing up my last winning card.
I am cross I got the wrong pipe fittings......... I also bought some Christmas cards I liked in the Heart Foundation shop. Nice Robiny ones to send you all again this year. I do love a card with Robins on and they are alway red green and white which I like too. Bought some more wild bird food to keep them quiet. Well thats been my afternoon.
We seem to have only had one wasps nest this year by the bungalow and one up the back field I think. There have been years when we have had three lots in the roof but oh does them for me. I buy cans of Wasp Nest Killer and he does them at night because he says they all have to go in at night.

Morning all,
Beautiful start to the day here with sunshine blue sky and wispy white clouds. The down side is one of our squabs is laying dead on the road outside the kitchen window. Feathers all over the place.
I was awoken yesterday morning with a great BONG on the bedroom window an d when I looked out there was the squab on oh's workshop roof. It sat there for quite a while and then flew off towards the kitchen the other endo of the bungalow. Later we saw it chasing a parent for food and then along with its sibling worrying the life out of the parent. Whether it has hit another window or something has had it I don't know but if something had had it I would have thought there would only be feather left and not the body too.
Not a grand start to the day but thats nature for you.
Feeding Friday again, the day I feed all the plants indoors and out.

Good morning my little flowers, evening Kim.
Meal last night was a great success, the only complaint being there was far to much. Roa and I couldn't eat a main course. But did I enjoy all my starters. Prawns, mussels, spare ribs, vegetable spring rolls, seaweed, prawn toast and lots of salad and CHILLIES, which we avoided like the plague !! I still had an upset tummy and had to leave the table THREE TIMES. At the end of the meal the manager gave us a drink on the house as usual. It was packed to the rafters with HEN NIGHTS at least four tables full, and what a racket they kicked up. LOL LOL
We were there for 6.00 pm and didn't leave till well after 8.00 pm.
John wants to take me out in the JAG today. He will drop me off at his house and come and pick Ros up for a spin. Then we will have a coffee and a look round his Roses, that he has gone into in a big way.
Lovely morning here also Mel, doors and windows all open with hardly a breeze in the air. Fancy you not taking the pipe in with you. I bet he was well pleased NOT.!!!
As it's bank holiday, this weekend I have booked a table at the Greyhound,in the next village. I have picked 4.00 pm, as we don't eat early on a Sunday. Our main eating time is around 6.00 pm. It will also give Ros time to do any gardening she wants to do. She redid a hanging basket yesterday with Autumn colours.
Touch wood, we haven't seen any wasps this year. Even the apples are free from holes made by them. We have these Wasp catchers around the garden, where you put water and jam/honey in the bottom and once they go in, there is no way out.
I think I will just have some toast this morning, as my tummy is still a bit iffy. So will take some imodium. with a drop of warm water.

Beautiful morning here and we're sitting outside having our coffee. OH has taken Cas for a long walk so she's happy! Hopefully the field opposite will be harvested this weekend, then we can use it for Cas to run in! Last night son came over and took us out to supper, no reason, he just felt like treating us! He and partner are off to Malta for this weekend, flying from Luton! not sure I'd want to be doing that bank holiday weekend! - it's Bristol or no where for us!! Spending a lazy day hopefully in the SUN!!

Afternoon Liz, and all.
Well I have done my deed. John rang this morning to arrange to take me out. Roa didn't want to go after me. So I went, very impressive car, but could never be used to it's full potential. I don't think it will belong before Spedding tickets start to arrive through his door !!!
Dennis's (next door neighbour) brother passed away last night, sitting on the patio at his home in Kent. He was 82, Heart Attack. Nice for him but as he hasn't made a will Dennis is having to go down and sort it all out.
Ros is busy doing the little baskets that hang on the fence, they do look nice when at the kitchen window, doing the veg, or washing up.
The blooming cats have been digging up the border again, they scratch the earth over the lawn, to cover their bl@@dy MESS. I have just ordered a CAT SCARER which sends out a noise (we can't hear) and sends them on their way. I HOPE. It does seem such a shame, when Ros puts so much work into keeping the garden nice.
Roast shoulder of lamb tonight, with potato's and runner beans, from the garden. Broccoli, Broad Beans, Peas and Carrots.
Beautiful afternoon, for just sitting out on the patio, with my book So will see you later.. (don't get burnt Liz) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Good afternoon all
Ruby has taken up much of my day so far, We had a longish walk this morning then I had a cooked breakfast and also fed her, I sat down afterwards and watched Homes Under the Hammer, she then got on my lap for a cuddle our usual routine ,then she got most of her toys out for me to throw for her she turfs them all out until she finds the one she has in mind.
It's a lovely sunny day here too. We haven't had any trouble with the wasps this year but sadly not many butterflies or bees either.
Hope all is well for Gill and her family
We have had a worrying time over Abbie this last week or so. She had contacted Social Services over her miserable home life when we were away and asked to be rehoused the outcome was she spent a week in a foster home and has now been allocated her own place in a hostel for the time being. It is very modern and only houses young people. She has her own little kitchen and bathroom plus the bed sitting room, they also gave her £150.00 to purchase crockery, saucepans and cutlery. Paul has bought her a TV with integral DVD player, I have bought her a microwave. hoover, kettle and sandwich maker. They also provided a new bed and small fridge freezer and cooker.. I hope she will be happy but she does know she also has a home here. The downside is that now Becky wants to leave home as well. Sue's father has given her a telling off over all this by telling her she should put her daughter's first
I always buy Hotter shoes as they are the only ones that I can wear straight away but Peter liked Pavers shoes as well for the same reason.
Ruby is trying to get on my lap for her afternoon cuddle but I'm going to make a COT first.. For some reason she doesn't like the lap top

Been sweeping up this morning out the front and oh washed all the mowers down with the pressure washer and then washed my car. It did need it as the farm up the road has been clearing a huge space in their yard and there's been tractors and trailers up and down making a right mess.
Then we had lunch and I went out in the garden again. Did a load of potting on of some of my plants and a general tidy of the patio plants of which some have finished so I need to replace them with some more. Went up the border to put a nice big Penstemon (one of my cuttings) in but can't find a spot for it yet so I shall have to dig something out and I need to cut back the climbing Hydranger so I can get to the ground under it and clear a space there I think. So thats where I am off to now.
Glad you enjoyed your ride in the Jag Frank at least you can say you have been in one now.

No Frank I've not burnt! I have spent a lazy day in the sun though! but with plenty of factor 20! We're now having a cuppa on the veranda in the shade. My only job today has been to change the bed and do a load of washing which is now dry, folded and put away! apart from that we've both just pickled about. Tonight we have a Korma, with rice and runners easy and not much clearing up! Our waggon needs a good wash too Mel and the inside needs a good hoover, we shall leave it though till we go down to Surrey!

Afternoon All,
Let me know if the cat scarer works Frank. I am at my wits end and have virtually given up on the garden. Dozens of my plants and shrubs are ruined and at £8-£10 each it's beyond a joke. Some of the shrubs were just reaching a nice size and were at their best. I'm sure that woman with the cat on harness hasn't helped and probably lets her cat spray on the front garden and then of course all the other cats there are here again now add their mark! So you ended up having a white knuckle ride in the car after all. lol. I would have enjoyed seeing what it was like, but then I have always been interested in cars. He will have to watch his right foot as you say though. They are putting more 20mph signs on roads in the city near here so soon it will be quicker to go by horse or bike!! I see they are going to be testing driverless lorries next!!
Oh Anne, the scenario with Abbie and her sister must be very worrying. I hope they are sensible girls. I had an unhappy childhood, and it was at my grandmother's where I felt any stability and caring, but we moved over 50 miles from her when I was 9 years old. They will be thankful to know they have you. Miss Ruby sounds like she enjoys herself with her toys. Is she better at going past that gate on her walks now? Is your brother off on more travels now?
Mel, my car needs a clean too. It's the mud from the farm vehicles that has splashed up the sides. They have started pouring gravel chips on some of the local roads too but haven't put the road markings back yet and you can't see the road humps!! I like Penstemons and used to have a few. They flower for ages don't they.
I hope Gill and her family are ok. Such a difficult and sad time for them.
