Mel Fairy Godmother Report 30 Aug 2017 18:00

Done loads of ironing and watered all the plants in pots outside my shed as they had wilted. Had a game of cards and now I am going to corn the chickens and bantams and get the dinner underway. Chicken crown with roasties, broc, carrots, runners and onion and stuffing.

So Ann it was thoughts of you that kept me awake was it. I must have known you were also awake. I like Trust Me's ending too. I wonder if Jane had been pushed as far as Cal was whether she would have been able to do what she did??

First a pop at my OH Ann and now a veiled pop at my granddaughter! Frankly you've gone too far over things that are nothing to do with you. You don't know whether my granddaughter has a part time job or not, again, not your business. She has however passed 11 GCSE's with four A*'s, she is studying or four A levels Biology, French English and further maths, with excellent mock results this summer. She too works very hard, and if her parents see fit to buy and pay for her to travel in safety, again, that is their business and not for anyone else, least of all on a miscellaneous thread, to criticise. Sorry, but I am not prepared to have my family derided and my granddaughter portrayed as some spoilt brat, which couldn't be further from the truth, by anyone, particularly someone who knows nothing about her or her parents.
I won't be posting again, for some time after this, if at all.

Jane Report 30 Aug 2017 18:43

OH goodness. I was just popping in to say a quick hello as I have been chashing my tail this afternoon ,but see something no good here.
Liz,I just had a look back at Ann's post and I have obviously read it in a totally different way to you. I didn't see her comments as being aimed at your Granddaughter or you personally ,especially the bit about your Grandaughter being a spoilt brat as you put it.
We can all read things and read them differently.

We have forked out a lot of money over the years to help our 2 with cars as many parents will do.

I don't want to get involved with this ,but just felt I had to say that I really don't think Ann would have intentionally upset you Liz.
I am sorry you feel you need to leave the thread but please reconsider your decision as you will be missed again.

Me chasing my tail ..... Chris tried his Jacket and Trousers on for the wedding and I said that the trousers were the wrong Blue and didn't go well .So I took off to Rushen Lakes(the new shopping place) at 4.15 (traffic was a nightmare :-S ) dashed into M&S and grabbed all navy trousers I could find in his size . One pair is fine BUT too long. I was sure I had picked up the right length .So it is an early trip to the dry cleaners in the morning with a plea to have them shortened by Friday morning.I will be on bended knees LOL
So I didn't get back from Rushen until 5.45 and am now all behind with dinner :-S :-S

Liz i didn't read Ann's post as being aimed at your Granddaughter , i read it as how do any young people of today afford to run a car, please don't stop posting .

Oh goodness Jane lets hope they can do the trousers for you :-0
How's Thomas ?

Jane

Jane Report 30 Aug 2017 19:18

Mandy ,Thomas seems just really sleepy. He is eating and purring ,just not his normal adventurous self.He is asleep in the summerhouse again now and has been in there nearly all afternoon. I will just have to ask the Cattery people to keep a close eye on him. I feel that he is thinner but when he was weighed the other week he had only lost a few grams .I will be taking him to thew cattery tomorrow afternoon.
I think it looks like the sun might be coming out after a really grey day and quite a cool one too.
Please keep your fingers crossed I can get Chris's trousers done in time :-)
It is all getting a bit stressful !!!. He should be sorting them out himself :-S. He still thinks the trousers he bought look fine (they don't :-D )

Well it's all going on here, isn't it. I think you need to take a big breath and think what has been said and in what was meant. I don't like to see us falling out. xxx

Did a massive Veg bake. A bit of everything in the fridge in the veg line. Steamed and sprinkled with olive oil and that Mediterranean Vegetable Mix. Pulled pork with apple sauce. Far too much, and had to throw some of it in the bin. Which I hate to do.

We haven't had th rain here, just very overcast and a bit chilly.

Poor old you Jane, having to run around after Chris. I just hope they can alter his trousers in time for the wedding.

Ann, THANK YOU for your very kind words about Lewis. As much as he is a teenager staying out half the night at clubs with his friends, on a Saturday night. He is still up and at work on time on Sunday morning.

Alan T. is about to start so will go and watch that.

See you tomorrow.

I don't think Ann was having a go at your family Liz. Just young people in general with all the expense they have at college or uni and repaying thier loans. I know we did everything possible to help our son when he passed his test and yes we bought him his first car. He worked to get his insurance as most young people do nowadays.

Please don't leave the thread Liz we all miss you and your tales of Cas and Merlin when your not on here. xx

Morning all,

Sunshine then showers so not so good today and its a bit cold with it. It rained last night too.

Must finish the rest of my ironing today and have a hoover and dust and perhaps clean the little loo and bathroom. Will see how I feel later as I may run out of energy. :-S

How's our Thomas today Jane? Do you think he knows?

Frank

Frank Report 31 Aug 2017 09:33

Good morning to you all, evening Kim,

I've just spoken to my sister. She had had an accident in the bath. The helpers put a plank of wood across the bath for her to sit on, for her to be able to wash her feet. The plank slipped and she went down like a ton of bricks. The window was open in the bathroom so she screamed for help. The neighbour heard her and came in, she phoned her son and he came home. Between them they got her out of the bath. She had the sense to pull the plug out, and just laid in the empty bath. I have threatened her, never have a bath unless there is someone in the house. What am I going to do with her.She will be 83 next March.

Better morning here today, high cloud nd a bit of sun. No breeze, so I think it ill get warmer later.

Ros has taken the scripts up to the doctors. I am almost out of two tablets, so she is going to ask if they can get those ready for tomorrow. We didn't realise it was Thursday again.

Gill are you back home for good this time, ??? We do seem to miss you when you are away so much. How is everybody ??

I hope after a nights sleep and a lot of thinking. We can all get back to normal. We have been friends for so long on here, it would be a shame for a misunderstanding to break anyones friendship.

When are you off to the weddingJane. ?? If pinch comes to a shove, couldn't you loose tack the trousers up yourself, or iron on some double sided tape .

Off for my shower and shave, I might even get Ros to take me for a haircut, or put a ribbon in it. LOL LOL.

See you later.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 31 Aug 2017 10:16

Your poor sister Frank it must have been such a shock when the plank slipped and what a silly thing to do anyway not securing the plank. She should have been given a special seat that fits across the bath not a plank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She could have had to stay in the bath for a long while if the neighbour had'nt her her shouting.

Hope you can get your scripts sorted quickly. I wonder if you will get your nice little girl to cut your hair?

Good afternoon all

Good to see Gill will be back on line again and I do hope Liz has reconsidered her decision to leave us, I have read everyone's posts over the last few days and I'm certain that none of them were directly relating to her or her family, so please stay with us Liz.

Lovely day here today but not too hot thank goodness, it was quite cold yesterday and I was tempted to put the heating on but put on a warm cardi instead.

How is Thomas today Jane? May be the heat has got to him again.

Got a note on facebook yesterday from Abbie asking if we could have a Chinese on Sunday fortunately in time for me to alter the Sainsbury order which was delivered this morning.

I'm surprised that your sister wasn't provided with a chair to put over her bath Frank. Peter had one fitted by the red cross [I think] plus raised loo seats and safety front door step and handle.

Just going to have some lunch as I am starting to feel a bit dizzy.

Frank

Frank Report 31 Aug 2017 13:41

Join the club Anne, After my shower I came over all faint and had to lie down for half hour. I then managed to get shaved and dressed.

We have had Amie here this morning, while Tracy went to her little job in Towcester. She has just got back and taken her home. She's such a nice little dog and so playful.

My left cheek is well bruised from my injection. I don't know what she used to put it in with, feels like she used a icing plunger. LOL LOL.

Ros has been pottering around the garden this morning. I have told her she can take me for a haircut, I know my little "Asher" will be there as she has Monday's off I will pop in Tesco and buy her Birthday Card. Then go onto out little eatery, for an early tea/dinner. It will save me cooking also.

The sun is out now, so might sit on the patio with my book, until Ros gets sorted out. I see we have THREE black sacks of garden rubbish to take to the tip. Our Green bin is full as is Pam and Dennis's. Where she finds all this rubbish I just don't know. !!!!

Did you get Chris's trousers sorted Jane, ???

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 31 Aug 2017 15:25

Still raining here......

Gillx Report 31 Aug 2017 16:32

Afternoon all

Sunny here, we did have one downpour earlier though. We've been in the garden today tidying up, weeding and deadheading, plus cutting the lawns as they had got out of control, it's all tidy now :-)

Sorry to hear about your sister Frank, is she okay now? Did you manage to have your hair cut, If you didn't Sandra said she has a lovely pink ribbon if you need it LOL.

I gather it's the wedding this weekend Jane? Hope you managed to sort out Chris's trousers for him. Sorry to hear Thomas isn't his usual self, do you think he knows you'll be away and he's got to go to the cattery again, maybe he's a bit stressed, hope things improve for him soon.

Hope you're feeling a bit better Anne and the dizziness has stopped.

Going to catch up with a few programmes I recorded with Sandra now.

Jane

Jane Report 31 Aug 2017 16:36

Afternoon Everyone

Well I should have been and got back from the cattery by now ,but Thomas is OUT !!!!
WE have called whistled and I even went around the garden waving a bit of cooked chicken leg around, but there is no sign of him. :-S :-S. The Cattery shuts at 6 so still have a bit of time left. I allow 30 mins to get there . If he is not back I can take him first thing in the morning. But I could do without that tomorrow. Maybe he does know Mel :-D When I think of all the days lately when he has hardly left the garden and today of all days he takes off :-S :-S

Frank, has your Sister not been assessed by the OT ? Then she should get the right equiptment to help her. Getting stuck in the bath like that is no joke for someone of her age. Thank goodness she managed to get the plug out and that the neighbour heard her shouting.

Nice to have your little friend for a few hours this morning Frank. Is this going to be a regular thing now?

So Chinese for you then Anne on Saturday :-D. Is Abbie coping with cooking for herself ? Maybe a nice Chinese will be the tastiest meal she has had all week LOL
I hope once you had some lunch your dizziness went.

Frank, I took the trousers in the this morning for shortening and they will be ready in the morning. :-D Chris can go and pick them up :-D

I think the journey tomorrow will take about 3 hours. Chris would like to get there before the rush hour begins on the M25 and A2. We will be home again on Sunday afternoon/eve.

Gill, are you home now for a while? I expected that staying at your MILs at the moment is probably quite stressful for you all.It will be good to be back in your own place until you need to go back again.

I hope Ann posts today <3

Gillx

Gillx Report 31 Aug 2017 17:56

Pleased to hear you managed to sort out Chris's trousers Jane, at least that's one less thing to worry about now. Hope Thomas came home in time for you to take him to the cattery. Yes we are back now, not sure if we'll be going back to MIL's to stay for a while, we only went this time as OH's brother had gone away on a holiday with his wife and young children, OH said it'll probably be his last family holiday, but MIL was worried he might take a turn for the worse and had got herself in a bit of a state which is why we stayed with her until he came home. He now has to have his second bout of Chemo, he was suppose to have it before he went away but it makes him so ill they said he could have it when he came home.

Almost caught up with our soaps I recorded, just one more to go then I'll sort out dinner and settle down for the evening. Have a great time at the wedding, see you when you get back <3
