Did you realize that Ada Lovelace in Victoria was one of the midwives in Call The Midwife?
Jane we thought you would have a lovely time with the weather being so good for the wedding. I bet Thomas was enjoying being home and in his old hunting ground again sitting there surveying his territory (sp).
Well I have picked 6 carrier bags full to the brim with apples and given them all away to good homes. One lady at the cross road on the way to the shop said she would have some more!! and another lady opposit a friend in Shebbear said she would too so I am getting there. Oh did'nt feel up to doing the tree today so he has been doing his wood carving and then having a rest and going back to it later.
I am pleased you got your sky box fixed Gill and can now catch up with the things you had on the planner. Good the headaches have gone too. Nothing worse than a nasty head.
Poor G and I can simpathize with him as I had a bad back for years and years from the age of 22. It still lets me know if I have done too much.
Toad in the hole for us tonight with runners and new pots so I am going to mix the batter now but it won't be like normal as they are not my own eggs.
One of my old girls kicked the bucket last week, boo hoo. I can't wait for October to come when I get a new lot. I shall of course keep the oldens as I can't bare to part with them till their time comes.

I hadn't spotted that Mel. OH hasn't fancied this series so hasn't watched it or I bet he would have told me!! lol. You have done well finding homes for all those apples and more ordered from you! :-D
No wonder Ros had trouble with her glasses Frank if they were wrong. You'd think they would check them before the fitting wouldn't you.
I got ahead of myself tonight and prepared tomorrow's lunch. I don't know what it will be like but it is 2 butterflied chicken breasts spread with tomato paste (double checked to see it wasn't chilli peppers) and garlic with a sprinkle of basil. Then topped with thinly sliced red onion, mushroom and orange peppers, topped with some grated cheese. OH is out in the morning so I'll just do salad to go with it.

Good morning to my friends, and Kim in Aus xx
Wet, horrible morning here.Looking out the back, it could be here for the day. It's not the heavy rain, but that continuous drizzle (soaks you through)
I was in bed early again last night, but up again from 1.00 till 3.00 reading. Did drop off when I got back to bed, but was awake by 7.30 to wake Ros up. She is at "LINUS" this morning with Margaret. They left at 9.00 am So I'm "HOME ALONE"
Yes these bad backs are a curse. I know I have to be careful how I move, and I just don't know how Ros manages after FOUR major back operations including disc removal, and disc fusion, two decompressions. The surgeon said has said there is nothing more that can be done for her. I am so proud of her, how she keeps going with all the gardening and her clubs. She rightly says, if she gives up, she will be like a cabbage. (A SWEETHEART ONE) xxxx
Spoke to Simon last night. He wanted us to meet in Coventry today, but when I mentioned the distance, he said leave it and come to Daventry (his house) for lunch on Sundy. So that will be nice, and no COOKING for me . It will be nice to see how his garden has developed, as we bought many trees and plants for them years ago.
Shower and shave time, then I will get some toast and my mate.
Shin of beef in the casserole, with Mash and veg. tonight. So nice and easy.
Stay dry today !!!

Morning Frank and all,
I think we have the same weather Frank. The sky is grey and we have that constant light mizzle as Frank said that soaks you through amnd you don't notice it.
Shopping day today, hooray, not.
Oh took a look at the apple tree that fell down and said he can see how many appl;es I must have got rid of because when he lookes at it yesterday he could see loads and now there are only ones on the top branches I can reach.

Morning all
Wet, wet, wet here today and not the drizzle it's been pouring down quite heavy. We have a few little jobs to do in the gardens but they'll have to wait until the weather improves.
Sorry to hear you didn't have a good nights sleep again Frank, hope you have a better one tonight. Yes, it does sound like Ros isn't letting a bad back stop her doing the things she loves. How lovely to be invited to Simon's on Sunday and like you said no cooking for you. Let's hope the weather is better than today for the journey.
So you've been busy collecting and delivering your apples Mel. We took the apples off our tree the other day and Sandra made her first apple crumble, she was a bit nervous but with me being there to encourage and guide her she did it all on her own and it was delicious :-)
Going to watch "The coach trip" from last night with Sandra, then I'm spending the next few hours watching Victoria. Sandra said she has programmes of her own to watch on her TV and OH will be doing his Sudoku, so that's us sorted for a while. After Victoria I'm going to make a start on sorting out my stuff, I have lots of CD's and DVD's to go through, which Sandra said she will help me with. See you all later <3

Morning All,
Awful drizzle here too. It's bin day here and earlier I realised I'd chucked out a paper I wanted something from and had to go rooting in the rain and the wet bin for it. Well it looks like my prepared lunch for today wasn't a good idea. OH got up this morning feeling ill. He went to his meeting but has come home and seems to have sickness bug so has gone to bed. I think the food will end up in the bin! I seem to have worse indigestion than usual after my tablet this morning so I hope I'm not getting it. I used disinfectant wipes on all the handles he's touched earlier.
Yes Ros does so well to do all she does with her poor back Frank. You seem to use your back whatever you do. Like she says though, with all the aches and pains we get, we'd do nothing if we didn't try!! Lunch out will be nice on Sunday and I expect those trees you bought years ago will be whoppers now! Another bad night for you then with not much sleep. I slept longer last night, but we have a neighbour who starts putting his wheelie bins out at 7.30am and the clatter tends to wake me. Then a few minutes later he sat with his car running for 10 minutes before setting off. It's not as if he was cleaning frost off it, so perhaps he was trying to hurry his wife up.
It must have been quite sad for Mandy remembering her old friend at the funeral yesterday.
Gill, I think I am going to start some sorting of clothes this afternoon. I don't want to go out till I know OH is feeling better anyway. It's supposed to be dry tomorrow so I might get some washing done as well.

Evening all,
It's lovely and sunny out now so i've hung the bedding out , we've had drizzle on and off all day ,not at all cold though.
Mel i expect the weight of all the apples on the tree didn't help ,that might have pulled it over ,it's good the apples have gone to some good homes . Will OH use some of the wood for turning ? i think Colin's brother said that he likes Apple wood for his wood turning .
Hope OH is feeling better now Ann and that your not coming down with the bug ,shame the chicken dish you got ready might not get eaten ,it sounded nice . Yes it was a sad day yesterday ,but it was a lovely service of thanks giving in the church ,she was cremated in the morning with just close family there and then they had the service in the church .
Jane what lovely photo's of the wedding ,it looked a beautiful place for the wedding ,the bride looked lovely and the bridesmaids dresses looked just like the dresses my two bridesmaids wore only they were blue with the flowers on . I love the decorations ,the hooks with the flowers in the jam jars and all the decorations hanging in the trees . You looked nice in your dress and the necklace and ear rings went well with the dress , how long did you keep your shoes on before the comfy ones went on ?
Son has had internet trouble today and i did read that some people had trouble with Talk Talk i don't know if thats who he's with .

All unpacked and BLAST BLAST BLAST I have just written loads and that all that came out till my blasts.
All unpacked and put away and just going to do my mac cheese and oh will do his curry. I saved three sauages from the toad yesterday so I shall have those with my mac.
Lovely pics of the wedding Jane and I loved the brides dress and the bridesmaids. The decs were lovely too and I like the jars of flowers on the crooks. What were the hanging decs made out of if you know? Smashing hanging from the trees it all gave a lovely atmosphere (sp) to the whole thing, really magical.
You all looked so smart in your outfits too but we could'nt really see Jess's dress. Love to Janice when you next speak to her please. The children asleep reminded me of when we had a festival thing on our from field. All the children were in the marque asleep in the evening with loud music playing. All on the floor with lovely coloured blankets.
I hung the washing out a little while ago as we have a good breeze at the moment and I thought they would smell nice in that. They won't dry but at least thev'e had a blow. The sun came out when I got to bideford and the sky turned blue with clouds. When I came home it got cloudy again the near home I drove but the sun has put in an appearance for a while now.
Hope G is feeling better now and you're not going to go down with it Ann. Sending wishes..... <3 <3

My shoes Mandy !!!!!!. I kept the first pair on long enough for the ceremony and photos, then changed into another pair .They lasted about an hour it was then into flats .Had I known we were going to have quite a long walk out over the marshes after the ceremony I would have changed into my flats then. We all had to follow the bride and groom behind a brass band ,and feet were killing !!!!.For the evening there was a big basket of flip flops that people could wear LOL. I just stayed with my flats as I can't do flip flops. The toilets were in Horse Boxes.Converted into posh loos. The ramp was a bit of an experience coming down though as my shoes had slippery bottoms and I had to ask a nice young man to help me down LOL. The loos had little towels to dry your hands ,perfume, anti mozzie spray and even sanitary products. My Sister didn't change her shoes and has ended up with a huge blister under her toes :-S
Chinese dinner has just arrived :-D

Lovely pics Jane. I love the skirt on the bride's dress and the bridesmaids dresses are so pretty. The decs were very nice too and the pic of you and Chris with Larry and Janice. James looks so tall in the selfie......were you standing on a slope? I can't get on with flipflops at all!! lol.
OH has only just got up, apart from visiting the white friend a few times! He feels a bit better now but still has heartburn, so it's just sips of water for now till tomorrow. I cooked the chicken anyway as I thought it would be ok cold if needs be.
I never did any sorting in the end as I didn't want to disturb OH so I did some beading then got a bad knot in it when it was almost done and have had to start again!!

Yes the brides dress was lovely and I liked the little sleeves. Very fairytale like.

Good morning all
A nice sunny day here again been for a walk with Ruby and had breakfast.
Jane the wedding photos were amazing, how lovely the bride looked in that beautiful dress and her bridesmaids too. The photo of you and Janice with your OH's came out well and you looked really good in your dress. There must have been so much planning that went into the wedding how lucky they were with the weather it doesn't bare thinking about had it been raining with the longish walk to the reception area.
Abbie is happy in her little flatlet they are also going to fund her driving lessons and will pay for her to get a passport. She has put a stop on her stepfather getting access to the property.
Does anybody remember the saying "Queen Anne's dead" if any ladies had a little bit of petticoat showing, I don't know why I suddenly thought about it as I was having a shower at the time and haven't worn a petticoat for years.
Mandy our hairdresser is coming this afternoon to put low lights in my hair and will cut Paul & Richard's hair as well.
Hope you had a better night's sleep Frank and all was o.k at the doctors.

I'm . Just the place for me back. !!! Got water problems, need to do a sample and get bloods done. Have to go to X ray department for X rays on both hips. OH NO not replacements LOL LOL
You looked very attractive all doled up Jane. The Photo's were very good, and the venue looked great. It looked just the sort of place I would fall A over H. LOL The weather was so kind to you all. They certainly covered all aspects for the guests. Very considerate hosts and organisers.
Good the Gordon is feeling a bit better Ann. There seems to be something doing the rounds, no end of people you talk to have something wrong with them.
Mandy if you enjoyed the CrabPate, you will surely enjoy the Claw meat. (I love it) Ros also gets me a dressed Crab, when I am a good boy ;-) ;-) ;-)
I have just handed a basket of washing down the steps of the conservatory to Ros to put on the line. As I closed the door, I had left my index finger in the door and closed the door onto it. I hope you didn't see the air turn BLUE !!!!
Bright morning here, with a slight breeze. It could turn rainy later by the look of the sky.
I have a letter from HMRC to say I am due a Tax rebate in excess of £200.00 wouldn't that have been nice with another 0 on it. !!! but I won't look a gift horse in the mouth.
Back to my book now, only a few pages left. I was reading it from 12.30 till 2.00 am this morning AGAIN.

Morning all,
I must have been thinking of you all last night and wondering who was up like me. I tossed and turned and got out at 3.15am for the loo and wnet back to bed only to lay there awakw listening to oh's gentle snores. Got up again at 4.30am and came in the kitchen. Did'nt need any lights on as I think it was a full moon. I looked out the window for a while and then went back to bed whereupon oh turned over and got up . I asked what was wrong and he told me he was getting up. I turned over a few more times and must have dropped off eventually. He woke me at 10.30 am to ask if Di was coming this morning.
Anne we did'nt say "Queen Ann's dead" but "Charlies dead" if someones petticoat was showing.
Joints ache in me hands today. Probably carrying heavy bags yesterday.
Frank I hope you're xrays are ok or should I say you're hips are ok and you don't need replacements. Oh's sister had one done this year.

Morning All,
Nice and sunny here now. Sorry you didn't have a great night again Frank. One of our neighbours has started to have a visitor that has to toot toot loudly when they leave late at night. Never mind that it is a single lane road and that they are feet away from our bedroom windows! Why do people feel the need anyway? I hope they get your water problems sorted Frank and no you don't want new hips yet do you!
OH is still in bed and is drinking more water now which is good and he seems brighter in himself. He has a meeting tonight but I can't see him going. I've been doing the chores he usually does.....putting the washing out and watering the greenhouse etc. I have a pile of tomatoes and runners to pick and already piles in the kitchen so I'd better do something with them all later today!!
I'm on Talktalk Mandy and couldn't send emails at the weekend. Since they did some maintenance work a few weeks ago I'm finding some emails that come in are going straight to trash that shouldn't be!! Jane's are always in there now!!!
Yes it was annoying Mel! It's something I couldn't join the thread on as well as you have to pull the beads really tight to hold in a gemstone!
Better go and get the papers now, fill the car up and get anything his lordship wants!

I was typing merrily away, when my screen went blank. Gawd knows what happened there. But all's back to normal gain.
I was saying that Ros has done two loads of washing, all dried and ironed and put away. On top of that she has hoovered through, and is sewing a baby quilt. All I have done is prepare for dinner tonight and read and finished another book.
It's turned so humid outside. I have just stripped down to a pair of shorts, and still very warm.
I feel like curling up and going to sleep, but I know I mustn't. It's hard enough going to sleep as it is. Mel, we could have had a goon old chin wag during the night. LOL LOL
The Doctor has given me a question and answer form to complete regarding my water works. Things like how much liquid do I drink in a day etc. I all depends on how thirsty I feel. !!!!
I've got a nice piece of "Crackling Pork" out of the freezer for tonight with roasted potato's, Broad Beans, Runners ,Carrots and peas, and Cauliflower with cheese sauce (thinking of Jane). I made a rice pudding yesterday, so Ros has some of that for afters.
So you are the "GO FOR" Ann. Did G manage to get to his meeting or is he still having you running around after him ;-) ;-) ;-)
Tea time and I might have a Chocolate biscuit. Roa has her's that I made earlier.
