'Mel. I am looking foward to the next 'Strike'. I am really warming to him now :-D. Wasn't so sure at first. Now I am hooked.

Oh Frank, what a disappointing day for Ros and friends. Fancy not being told the exhibition had finished !!!! That is bad.

You have mentioned Val's symptoms before and it could well be Parkinsons or even Dementia. It sounds like Tony is in denial to me. :-(

Presents are always difficult to buy .So I think the dressing gown sounds a good idea for Julia's Granddaughter . We have been trying to think what to get Hannah's partner Gareth for his Birthday next month. We did think about a helmet camera for when he is cycling ,but Hannah has suggested we buy a subscription for a Rubgy Magazine that Gareth buys weekly. That sounds good to me so we will do a 2 yr sub for him. Sorted :-D :-D

Mel Jess's Mum had Benjy for the weekend and yes Benjy is now in Canterbury with Jess. The chap Jess is sharing the house with is a dog lover so I think will look after Benjy at any time.

James home from work now and needing feeding. The rest of the food will be kept hot for me and Chris when he gets home from the Council meeting .

Yes the next 'Strike' should be good........OH has read and has the book for that as well! He has just bought the 5th Poldark book as he started reading them, the ones he bought for me, and is enjoying them.

You've done well this week Frank, first money off the tax man and now good savings on the house insurance!! :-) OH can never be bothered, so it's me who does these things, but he got a shock on his health care this year. I've badgered him for years to negotiate with them but he never did till this year, when he decided to cancel it. He was staggered that they eventually almost halved his premiums!!!!!! I said look at all the thousands you could have saved over the years and he agreed. What a disappointment for Ros today. Fancy them not letting Carol know about the exhibition. It does sound like Val is really struggling, surely Tony must have noticed. :-S

Jess has found a good place if the chap there is happy to have the little dog Jane. :-D It's good the treatment you are having seems to be doing the trick now! It must be a relief to be able to use your hands properly again. Our beans are still going strong, but they were much later than yours. I have frozen 17 tubs of tomatoes this afternoon and there are plenty still to come. I grew some of those Romaine lettuce in the greenhouse, but they are disappointing and seem to be wanting to bolt before the have any middle to them. I'll stick to the salad bowl ones in future that you can pick leaves from as you want them. Yes those storms look awful as you say. I wouldn't want to live where there are earthquakes either.

Gillx Report 7 Sep 2017 21:28

I've tried reading the posts twice, but nothing seems to be sticking at the moment.

I had some bad news today, mum came round and told me that my uncle only has 2 months to live. It's something to do with when he was working and now he has asbestos related cancer. He can have treatment which will give him a couple more years but he doesn't want it. He is almost 90 so I can see why he's decided not to have any treatment. My aunt is in bits as you can imagine.

Poor Sandra said "You won't leave me will you" It broke my heart to hear her say that as we both know I'll go before her. I think she said it as there are now three close relatives with terminal cancer. My uncle, OH's brother and OH's uncle. I've been giving Sandra lots of hugs, which I think has helped her. The first thing I thought of besides Sandra was OH when mum told me, with him going through the same thing with his brother and uncle.
I'm trying not to cry in front of him. He was making some more frames for the lids we are making for the pots, so I had a little cry when he was working around the side of the bungalow. He has enough to worry about so I didn't want him to worry about me as well, although he could tell I'd been crying as soon as he saw me and gave me a hug, which made me feel better.
We're all supporting each other, as best we can at the moment.

Gill what a dreadful shock you've had from your mum about your uncle. That makes three lots of bad news now. Keep strong and my thoughts are with you and all the family. I can understand your uncle not wanting treatment if he is 90. They just don't want the bother of appointments. Thats what happened to my mum with the eye injections it was too trumatic the journey to the hospital and the waiting around to be seen.

I am stillhaving trouble getting on here and if I leave the thread up and go back a page I get the Error page. I click on the support and get back in that way.

I am glad oh is enjoying the Poldark books. I had them all years ago and read the lot but ti was so long ago I can't remember the stories so am enjoying the series.

Ann are you still watching Outlander? I have just watched series one and two again and I may be lucky and get series three on Amazon on Sunday. I shall have to wait and see.

Well do you all realize that we are now a week through September. Where has the year gone and is it going to go even quicker next year and the following years after that as I get older?

Its raining here now and we still have a bit of a wind. It blew one of my tomato plants over so now I have tied the cane to a low growing hazel tree down by the bantams house.

Oh Gill, I am so sorry to hear this latest sad news.Poor Sandra will be understandably worried with all that is happening with both your BILs and now your Uncle and will need reassuring that nothing will happen to you or her Dad. It must be terribly upsetting and probably confusing for her.
If you need to cry, don't hold it in. A good cry can be really good for you.It just releases all your pent up emotions.Share your tears with OH.You can both be strong together <3 <3

Morning all,

Still having trouble getting on here as the dreaded Error page keeps coming up.
Had a message back from Genes Support who are telling me to clear my cache on the pc but if you are all getting the same thing I don't see how its me!

Its horrid here this morning as its really raining and a bit windy with it. Skies are quite dark grey and it dos'nt look like it will brighten up at all.

Have to collect our scripts at some point today and can't believe its Friday again....

Sending love and wishes to Gill and family . <3

What a job getting on here. Good morning ladies, evening Kim,

All this sad news must be getting you down Gill. We all think of you at times like this.

Roa enjoyed the Choir last night and was greeted by lots of people who she use to sing with.

While she was out I rang my sister. Due to that fall in the bath the doctor put her on different tablets. Would you believe they have turned her TEETH BLACK. She has no idea why. I told her to get in touch with him about it. Whether she will or not I don't know.
I also rang my Niece in Scotland to see how she and the family are. Her son got married three months ago and her daughter Sarah is getting married 7th Oct. Rachael her special needs daughter, is going to be bridesmaid.

We have had so much rain her this morning that I decided to put off going for my X ray until next week.

Jane the Dressing Gown was for Ros not Julia's Granddaughter. YOU MUST LEARN TO READ LOL LOL.

Ros is out of the shower and washed her hair, so it's my turn and I need a shave also.

Will you all please consider looking at the savings you can make by checking ALL YOUR OUTGOINGS on insurance, Heating etc. You could all be "millionaires " by next year. DELL BOY.

See you all later.

Morning All

It is definitely a GR problem Mel.There is a gremlin in the works :-S

Wet wet wet here now.Thomas has taken shelter in the Summerhouse. I think it is going to be a day of ironing and housework :-P Maybe a little bit of catchup too as I didn't manage to see all of Safe House last night .
It is so dark !!!!±

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 8 Sep 2017 11:37

Well Frank I too thought the dressing gown was for the grandaughter so I must learn to read too.

To make things worse oh has just gone ut in his workshop and turned the light on with it being so dingy and knocked the leccy out so I had a devil of a job to get back on here again. He must be doing so wood carving.

Can you all please report this problem to Genes Support as others are doing and perhaps they will sort the problem out.

Its pelting with rain here and coming down like stair rods.

Jane

Jane Report 8 Sep 2017 16:56

Just starting to rain again now. It has been on and off all day but not heavy(so far)
although saying that it does seem to be getting a bit more .
Chris says he has felt cold all day and has a jumper on. I am still in short sleeves and have some windows open.

Did I send a pic of the wedding cake? Kelsey's Aunty made it and it was beautiful.

Our lawn this morning was covered in birds all pulling up worms :-D. They were going crazy lol. They certainly had a good feed :-D

I don't know why ,but Thomas has taken to using his litter tray ALL the time. For both number 1 and 2's :-S :-S.Up until this week he only used it for wees now and then. I think he is getting lazy LOL. Good job I have a supply of dog poo bags. I like to scoop out whatever is in the tray as soon as i see it has been used.
I don't think there can be many mice or bunnies about today as he hasn't stopped mithering for cat food !!

Is the leccy ok again now Mel? Was it OH doing his wood carvings?

Now it is tipping it down and really dark. Lights on .I have done all I am doing today and I am not cooking as we all have ready meals tonight. It would be nice to have the woodburner going to cheer the place up,but it is still not cold enough for that or even the central heating.I have to be honest and say I do love being able to draw the curtains and lighting the fire once the darker nights are here.I doubt there will be too many more evenings we can sit out, unless we have an Indian Summer. Now that would be quite nice :-D.

Ann when are you going to Cornwall? It must be soon? I'm sure you said September.
On the 19th we are going to Suffolk for a couple of nights. We were going to have a 3rd night but can't do that so it is just 2. But then we will have another 2 nights down near Gareths Parents for Gareth Birthday. We are staying in a converted Dovecote. All the Pigeon /Dove holes are in the bedrooms,so a little kind of quirky :-D

The sun it out now !!! but sky still looking a bit heavy..What a wierd day.

Gill I am thinking of you all <3

Annx Report 8 Sep 2017 18:18

Afternoon All,

Gill you poor things with one lot of bad news seeming to follow fast on the heels of the the last. My first hubby died of an asbestos related illness 5 years ago aged just 66. I went to a lecture by one of the 2 UK Specialist Team Leaders at a local hospital this year and apparently they can give a lot of support these days with specialist nurses. Hopefully he has been told to put in a compensation claim too. At 90 I can understand him not wanting treatment and agree with Mel from experience with OH's parents of the waiting in hospitals being too much. It's very understandable Sandra being worried with all this happening, but all you can do is what you are doing and reassure her as much as you can. I used to hide tears from my OH too when his parents were ill, thinking it would be easier for him if I was strong, but one night it was all too much and a good talk did us both good. All you can do is keep supporting each other and do what you can and don't forget to care for yourselves too. <3 <3

I never managed to get into Outlander Mel. I think I tried to watch the first episode a few times but either fell asleep or we went out when I was part way through! I even missed the last half of Safe House last night, but at least it was recorded so I can watch it again. Oh yes I seem to remember now that you said about reading the Poldark books! :-)

We had no rain here till late afternoon then it tipped down. It's dry again now.

Poor Ros having her teeth go black! I hope the doc knows why and can sort it out for her.

Today isn't going well for me! After having to send photos of those wrong beads I was sent (and they hadn't tied the strands properly so the beads spilled over the worktop!) we collect a parcel from the Royal Mail that was my new steering wheel lock. It doesn't fit my steering wheel so I will have to send that back. As soon as we got back home with it there was another 'you weren't in' ticket on the mat and another parcel to go and fetch tomorrow! :-S

Evening all,

Pouring with rain here now ,it's been cloudy most of the day ,we had one heavy shower late this morning ,we've also thunder and lightning this last hour too.

Gill so sorry to hear your sad news ,i can quite understand your uncle not wanting to go through the treatment at that age ,he just needs to enjoy the time he has left.
Poor Sandra too , sending you lots of love <3 <3

We've just lit the fire :-D it seemed to turn really chilly so it's lit and i expect Max will be hogging the rug in front of it later ,he's fast asleep in the kitchen at the moment .

No photo of the cake came through here Jane .
