Oh what pig of a day we have had here. The rain just went round and round for what seemed hours. It was crashing against the conservatory windows. Then the sun came out and dried up all the rain and "incy winsie spider came out the spout again" SORRY.
When it had stopped raining I went topic some beans, I took one of Ros's big dress type bags and filled it to the top. Pam came round to bring us a Cue. and said "I'll have a few of those beans in exchange" Cheeky Begger. Anyway she went away with a small bag full.
Simon rang this afternoon. He is back off his trip, he said why not come over at 11.00 am Sunday, and he will take us on a trip for a couple of hours, with beers and nibbles. Just up my street. Then we will go back to his and Sally will cook a late lunch/dinner.
Come on Ann, can't you read either LOL LOL. ?? I can just see Ros with BLACK TEETH.I think your OH hs passed his bug down here. I have been talking to my little "WHITE FRIEND" quite a lot today, and don't feel too clever even now. THANKS G. I can see you haven't had the best of days either.
I am sitting here in my summer dressing gown, and sweating like a pig. So there is no way I would want any heating on. In fact, I might go and have a beer on the patio to cool down.
Ros has been on her machine all afternoon, just finished. She has made three quilts, and is now sitting sewing round the edges, while she watches her soaps.
I might sit and watch Gardener's world later, before I have an early night.
What total destruction these storms are causing in the USA. I see we are now being blamed for not getting to the Virgin Isles earlier. One day we will do something right !!!. There's always someone ready to complain about our Country. !!!
See you all in the morning, and trust your leech is bacon now Mel.
You are certainly getting about Jane. You will have to start using your BUS PASS to save on all this petrol. !!!
What a strange sky out there at the moment. Big black clouds with the sunshine coming from th sides of them.

I know some steriods can turn your teeth black. It happened to a young girl I knew when we lived in Suffolk. She was a friend of my son in the next village to us but she had them over a long period.
We had some sunshine this evening and its dry out there now.
Lovely wedding cake Jane. I have seen them like that before and much nicer than an iced fruit cake. Everybody likes a bit of sponge and cream and soft fruits.
Finished all the ironing this morning so untill I do more washing there is none to do.
The leccy only goes out till I turn it back on again and he usually warns me when he is going to turn the light on in the workshop incase I have something on the pc I don't want to lose. Pc is pretty good though and I get most things come up as soon as the internet kicks in again.

Not sure what's happening with Genes, I've only just been able to get on here as I kept getting the error page.
Because it's so late I've not been able to catch up with all the posts so will do that tomorrow if Genes is working for me.
I love the photo of the wedding cake Jane, although it was different from a traditional wedding cake it was beautifully made and in keeping with the woodland setting.
Thanks everyone for your kind words, we're just taking each day as it comes and supporting each other at the moment, which is all we can do. We're hoping our luck will change soon as it's not been a very nice year so far for us.
Off to bed now, I didn't sleep very well last night and I'm absolutely shattered. I'll try and get back on here tomorrow, hopefully I'll have more luck and be able to catch up with all the posts. Night NIght

Morning all,
We have sunshine and showers this morning and the dreaded Error page!!!!!!!!!!! and just think how many more people will b e using the site today being Saturday.
I opened up a trunk in the hall yesterday to have a clear out. I looked through all mums materials and put it all back again. I just could'nt part with anything but a few bits of fruit patterns she had cut out ready to sew onto something, probably an apron pocket. How old it is I do not know but she had'nt made aprons since I have lived down here in the last 26 years.
Shop day today for the paper and I have 50 tulip bulbs to plant so if I put them in pots I can do that in the shed if it keeps raining.

Morning my lovelies, evening Kim,
I am doubling myself up this morning. I am trying to type on here and photo-copy THREE SONG BOOKS for Ros for her Choir night. What a job, turning pages and getting the paper in the right way round to copy onto the back of the sheet. I have done one book now started on another,
Well that's all finished, so I can relax. There was something like 35 pages might be more.
Nothing special; weather wise here Mel, Lots of cloud being pushed around by the breeze. Smallest bit of blue sky, and the sun has just come out in it. So it's a case of hit and miss today.
Ros has gone shopping as usual with Martine for their weekly catchup. CHIN WAGGING !!!
Gill, I hope you and OH are keeping each other company through this difficult time of your lives. Sorry to say I have been there, got the T shirt etc. My thoughts are with you both.
Who did a silly thing last night ?? I fancied a bit of Stilton around 10.00 pm and cut a chunk of a fresh wedge with a few of my Hovis biscuits. Wrong MOVE. I suffered well into the night and thought of how you had told me off in the passed. LOL LOL
I am making the effort to go to the pub today. Man.City V Liverpool. on paper it should be a good match, and I haven't been down the pub for over two weeks. They will be wondering where I am !!
Ross new glass's are ready, I said we will call Monday as the weekend there is up to an hours wait, so he told me.
little brighter to the south west. so thanks Mel. xxx

Suns out here and we have blue sky with huge white clouds one minuet and then grey clouds and downpours of rain the next. It really can't make up its mind what it wants to do.
Oh is out pickleing about in his workshop. I think he is sanding down his dads old chisel box. Probably wants to revarnish it.
Its a devil of a job to get the pages right way round when photocopying. I remember when oh did some books on the church and all the waste paper he had in his den.

Afternoon all,
Lovely and sunny here at the moment but the clouds do seem to be building up so i don't think it will be long before the rain is here.
Mel i do that think i'll have a clear out and then haven't got the heart to part with things so they get put back ,you can bet as soon as you do part with something you'll want it later on.
You've been busy with photocopy this morning then Frank which reminds me i need more ink for our printer. Oh naughty boy having cheese so late at night you might know you'd suffer for it and we'd tell you off :-D
Time for lunch and i think i'll do cheese on toast.

Morning All,
Sun and clouds and a few spots of rain here. OH is taking his wet weather gear to go to a match at Redditch today so he's expecting rain!
Yes Frank, I need a trip to Specsavers! lol :-) I must go and get my eye test after Christmas and get new ones and sunglasses too. These tiny beads I'm using are a devil to thread and trying to undo the knot I got the other night was impossible!! I bet Ros will be glad to get some glasses that are right this time. I expect it would help her with her sewing too. When you said about the black teeth and before I got the gist of what you were saying, I must admit it crossed my mind Ros was practising something for Halloween!! lol. :-D I hope your sister is ok though as it must be worrying for her and not a nice thing to happen at all. I know I was panicky when I got the scarlet face from the facepack. I'm just waiting now as about now I usually get asked if I've oiled my broomstick yet!! We never learn do we Frank........a little of what you fancy doesn't always do you good........especially at 10.00pm.
This morning OH was showing me a windmill in the local paper that is a house and is for sale as he knows I would have liked to live in a windmill. The price was a bit eye watering though. 'There you are' he said, 'you could be Johnathan Creek!!' I said, ' well I'm halfway there already with the creek'. :-D
There's another village show a few miles away today so I'm popping to that this afternoon. I want to get there early as there isn't much parking. This one was more a garden produce and cakes etc show when I went before, but there should be some paintings and photos too. Then I can carry on to a garden centre that was taken over last year and has been much improved. I need a few plants for my front wall pots. I've got some dark reddish leaved plants in them at the moment that have fuschia pink flowers a bit like Busy Lizzy flowers. The trouble is, they only seem to have one flower at a time so we have been staring at pots of leaves all summer!! I shan't get those again, although they are good for coloured foliage.
Don't forget we are all here and thinking of you Gill and I hope your luck changes soon too. xx <3 <3
What is your OH carving Mel? Has getting those wood carvings set him off doing some himself?

Yes Ann I think it gave him the push to see if he could do something better. As you know he loves owls so he is doing the same one till he gets it right. He says he can't think in 3 D. He is a little dislexit (sp) so perhaps thats why.
Well my washing I did last night is still in the machine so I think it better go in the dryer now.

Afternoon Everyone
Well we have had real thunder and lightening and some torrential rain. But now the sun is out :-D.. Poor Thomas hid under the dining table when the storm was happening, but he has at last gone out.
The internet has been so slow and jumpy today. Maybe to do with the weather ,I don't really know but it has been really irritating. My fingers are not good today and I have the cotton gloves out again :-S.It was all going so well too.
Stilton at 10pm Frank !!!!!. When will you learn LOL.The thing is when you fancy something you just have to have it. I bought some lovely Sourghdough Bread from Tesco this morning and it was still warm when I got home. James had a load for lunch and has been burping ever since !! I have told him to have an indigestion tablet.
So Ann is off to another Village show this afternoon. It is nice there seem to be so many around where she lives.
OH sounds busy Mel. At least he is not under your feet :-D.He sounds really talented when it comes to his woodwork and carving. Chris's Dad was a good woodworker and made some lovely things.
Mandy I hope the storm doesn't head your way this afternoon. Maybe it will have blown out before it hits the East Coast. I was thinking how lucky we were last Saturday with the weather for the wedding. I just hope that the couple getting married there today have managed to Wed without any rain . It is the last wedding of the year there.I think the next wedding will start again in the Spring.
Frank you have been busy doing your secretarial duties for Ros :-D That was a lot of pages to photocopy.
Oh Oh .It is getting a bit dark again and I can see some quite dark clouds .I have opened the back door so Thomas can run in if needs be.He has been a right old sleepy head . Slept all night and didn't go out until about 9.30 !!! I came down this morning at 6.30 as I was awake and thought he might want out.But no, he just ate some breakfast and went back to sleep. So there I was sat watching tv(all the rubbish programmes :-D :-D ) I have Nightmare Neighbours on at the moment. I love that one but my goodness what some families have to put up with :-0.. Really some crazy neighbours out there.
It is a black as anything now again and here is the rain. Thomas has just dashed in LOL.
Sausages,Chorizo potatoes ,Tarragon Carrots and Runners are the Menu for tonight.
Mandy you were clever to spot the basket of Chocolate Treats :-D. There were things like Mini Twirls,Mini Fudge etc. .All of Janice 's Grandchildren demolished the lot LOL.
Need to put the lights on again here.

You mentioned Spec Savers Ann ,Colin went in there this morning to make an appointment for a hearing test ,i kept saying to him he is getting really deaf so he went to the doctors first and they sent a letter for him to take in to Spec Savers ,it's a free hearing test and hearing aids if he needs them ,which i'm sure he does ,his appointment is for next saturday. I shall have to be careful what i mutter under my breath then if he gets them LOL
Jane i can spot chocolate a mile off :-D :-D :-D :-D
We had a heavy shower this afternoon but it didn't last long the sun was soon out again ,they did say we might have thunder and lightning like yesterday but we haven't heard any . The electric went off in the night as when i came down this morning the cooker clock was flashing .

Evening all
It was raining really heavy for hours this morning, the sun is out now so OH and I have spent a bit of time finishing off the framework for the lids we are making, all I need to do now is attach the netting if OH can get some more for me. His friend gave him some when we started the job so he's hoping he can spare a little bit more so we can finish them all off.
It looks as if Genes is working properly today. I tried for ages to post on here yesterday but kept getting the error page, so I gave up until later in the day and even then it was still playing up so it took me ages to send a post.
I'm just starting dinner, so will catch up with the post later.

I have done nothing today except wash up and get the lunch and feed the chickens and bantams. All jobs I do each day.
Jane I wondered if Thomas was using his litter tray more as the ground is so wet for him to dig his little hole. Much easier to use the nice dry tray that mum looks after for him........... <3 :-D
Needless to say the bulbs are still in their bag...............

I bet he's enjoying doing the carving Mel and he's the sort that won't give up till he gets it right isn't he.
I love cheese on toast Mandy. When we occasionally did overtime at work at the weekend, to make it more fun a couple of us would go and make cheese on toast for everyone. It didn't seem like work then with no phones going and a slice of cheese on toast in your hand!! lol. :-D
I suppose we do have a few Village shows around here Jane......except for our village of course!! The one today at Sharnford seemed to have less entries than last year, but at this show there was a class for sausage rolls which I hadn't seen anywhere before and a 'decorate a stone' class for children which I thought was a good idea. There were only 3 classes for photos and just a few paintings as I expected. I was looking at their site on FB when I got home and saw that they accept exhibitors outside their area, so that's good to know.
I went to the garden centre after, but they only had the larger packs of Pansies and Violas, so I'll try the one up the road in the week as OH has some money off vouchers for there.
No thunder or lightning here Jane but we did have about 10 minutes of heavy rain. Do you think THomas got used to always using a litter tray at the Cattery? Perhaps he doesn't like getting his botty wet outside!!
Edit/ I missed Mel's post and see she had the same thought about Thomas.

Good evening all
I'm a little behind with reading all the posts but Gill I am thinking of you, Sandra's comment brought a tear to my eye bless her.
Jane the cake was very original did it taste as good as it looked, I love chocolate cake and much prefer it to fruit cake.
We also have had thunder and very heavy down pours of rain, like Thomas our cats don't like it but Ruby just barks. She has just started her first season so in three months she will have her OP.
Richard has gone to a barbeque his friends are doing it for a cancer charity I hope they have some overhead cover for when it rained,
Just watching last night of the proms,
