Well, what can I say about lunch. Got to the Carvery, was shown to a table in the FAMILY AREA. Kids everywhere. I thought what a great start. Left Ros while I went and ordered drinks. The bar man said he would bring them to our table, as he saw me wth my stick. We then joined the queue for the carvery only to find I haven't ordered them at the bar. So I DASHED (joke) off to the bar to get the tickets. Got back and gave Ros hers. We got our meats and helped ourselves to the Vegetables. Roa got to the leeks, only to find there were no leeks in the dish. Only water. She asked the chap behind the counter for more leeks. He tried to pick up the empty dish with one hand, and spilled the contents of the dish over the counter and onto Ros's trousers and shoes, and completely soaked the floor around us. I went spare and called him all the no nothings you could think of. People were sliding about on the soaked floor, while a member of staff came with tea towels , trying to soak up the water. The long and short of it was the GENERAL MANAGER came to our table and offered his apologies, with a voucher for £30.00 for our next visit, after shaking hands and thanking him I said I would go and pay the Bill, NO Have that on me. !! so we had free meals and drinks and a £30.00 voucher. So not bad, but I could have done without it. It let me shaking with temper and disappointment .

Now home and trying to relax, I suppose I should have gone to PAIGNTON. Less hassle. LOL LOL.

It's turned into a nice afternoon now. Roa is picking Runners, and I am going to make a list for Tesco for tomorrow.

O what a todo Frank but at least you got a voucher and a free meal out of the mishap. These things happen but it must seem they all happen to you. I do feel for you. I hope when you go next time you have a better dinner.

Morning all my best friends,

WE have another dry day with some sunshine here. There is blue sky with some wispy white clouds and some huge billowing white clouds.

I enjoyed Strike last night and think the whole set up is good so I can't wait for the next ones. Then I watched Victoria and so to bed.

Frank Report 18 Sep 2017 10:23

Good morning all, evening Kim,

Well I had a good night, apart from getting out twice and slept till 8.40. Ros was up making tea.

Nice morning here to start with, don't expect it to last by the look of the sky.

Roa got a joint of pork out for dinner. She picked a load of beans yesterday and dug the last of the potato's and carrots. So I will do those with whatever she brings back from Tesco later.

It was such a shame about yesterday. The meats were well cooked and plenty of it. Most of the VEG was far to undercooked, you needed a stronger knife to cut them up. They were so hard.

Roa spoke to Carolyn in Tenerife this morning and Conrad in Spain. Both say how hot it is out there both over 30 degrees. (Just right for JANE)

No plans for today, other that to read another book. See you later.

Aha got here. Two lots of washing on the line and I need to wash some chicken drinkers.

Oh is in the orchard cutting more off the fallen apple tree.

Suns still out but the sky is turning a sort of whitey grey.

OMG it's all happening here. Ros has gone to Tesco to get the bits we need. I said I would empty the rubbish from the kitchen bags and get the bins out. Great so far, when to get the bag out of the pedal bin the bag bust all over the place, Good job it was only dry rubbish, but I still had to bend, bend and keep bending until I got it all into another bag. Done my back the world of good. !!!I took the Blue and green bins to the
top of the drive, ready for tomorrow morning. The food bin is sitting outside to be taken up when we have finished dinner tonight.

Ros has done a wash that it ready to go out. The Clouds have just bust and it's raining cat's and dogs, so it will have to go on th dryer in the conservatory. I had just been outside to trim mt finger nails, so I got in at the right time.

I bet Ros will get soaked coming out of Tesco. As she only went in a small top and trousers.

I have made the Yorkshire pudding mix and the CHEESE SAUCE for the Cauli. Scored the rind on the pork and salted and oiled it, should be a nice piece of Crackling for Ros.

We sat down for a quiet lunch with Doctors and oh has been working on the hedge trimmer out by the garage. It suddenly poured with rain and the washing was nearly dry but its all wet again now. Oh helped me bring it in but we both got soaked.

Frank

Frank Report 18 Sep 2017 16:40

Oh Mel, you got it at the same time as us.

I have just unblocked the Dyson, fluff and bark chipping stuck up the tube. I went outside to shake the mat and who's getting her washing in. ? VAL next door. I said why did you put it out with all this rain about. She said I thought it might dry.

Madam is at it on her machine making more quilts. I was reading my book but my eyes kept wanting to close, so I put it down.

Where has the day gone ?? I had better get the meat in the oven or we won't eat tonight !!!

Jane Report 18 Sep 2017 17:27

Afternoon All

So far no rain here today. I have a whirly washing line full of washing so had better get it is smartish before things start getting damp. I need a pair of trousers to pack so will just pop them on the radiator tonight to make sure they are properly dry.

Thomas has done it again today. He hasn't come back so I have rung the Cattery to seay we won't be there this afternoon now and it will be first thing in the morning. I'm sure he is doing this on purpose :-S. At least I have packed my things.I just need to put the toilet bag and few odds and sods in in the morning. It looks like it is going ot be dry for the days we are away and quite reasonable temperature too.So the rain mac is not coming.Just a brolly

Oh Frank, what a mess you made with the bin bag !!!. At least it was not stinky gooey food mess. Yes 30degs would be too much for me. Give me 20-23degs and I am happy :-D. I expect it has been very hot in Valencia ,but Hannah will be lapping that up and getting even more of a tan. She was still very tanned from her holiday in Montenegro .
James and Jess really loved the New Forest.James thought it was just beautiful.I wouldn't be surprised if they went back there again. I think I quite fancy a few days there now
:-D
Fitz is struggling with pain again in his legs and back. He had an appointment with the GP this morning for more pain killers and to see if the Dr could see if he could get the results of the MRI he had done the other week. Fitz is off to Pembrokeshire for over a fortnight on the 22nd staying in a remote cottage . I said he had to make sure he has his mobile phone with him ALL the time and to make sure it is charged at all times just in case he needs to call for help.He has the oldest mobile phone .Just the basic Nokia which he can make, and receive calls and do Texts. He refuses to update it(silly man).He is a law unto himself sometimes :-S :-S. I was with him at the surgery to give him a lift home as he had dropped his car off for a service. When we were in the waiting room the chap from the garage called him to say what needed doing, and EVERYONE was listening to his converstaion as he spoke so loudly !!!!. I had to give him a nudge to tell him to pipe down a bit LOL.It was quite embarrasing .

Glad to had a good night last night Frank. I had another rotten one.Awake from about 2.30 until getting on for 5 :-S.. I was sneezing, and coughing (silly tickly cough),and wide awake. I need up taking an antihistamine at 3.30 which did help a lot with the cough and nose. I wondered if it might be dust at the back and under the bed that was the problem so have had a big hoover under there today. My gawd the cobwebs and muck behind the bed was shocking.Shame on me for letting it get that bad.

Our post has just arrived !!. Different postie. Maybe they are down on staff or something at the moment. I know they were low on staff at the pharmacy at the surgery today as there was a notice. So maybe there is a bug or something doing the rounds. Maybe like the one Ann's OH had.
I hope they are enjoying themselves and that Ann is bug free :-D

No Thomas still :-| :-|.. He will wander in later no doubt without a care in the world and a full tum and have no idea the trouble he is causing me. I could do without an early morning trip to the Cattery. It will put us all behind :-S

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 18 Sep 2017 18:39

Naughty Thomas. I am sure he senses when you are going away with all the packing etc. and thats why he stays out of the way.

I have picked a few apples and done a load of ironing, washed the spare quilty thing oh has over him some nights and dried it in the dryer and that is back on the bed. I don't feel as though I have sat down this afternoon so I am having a rest now before I start dinner. Gammon steaks peas and chips with peach slices.

Jane Report 18 Sep 2017 19:15

Mel it is chucking it down here now and still no CAT :-S :-S He has either a Rabbit Warren he is keeping eyes on or he is in someone elses house.I am getting a bit concerned though as he normally heads for home once the rain comes.

Peach Slices with Gammon ! I have never heard of that Mel Pineapple yes but not Peach. Are you having fresh or tinned ? I never like Pineaple with my gammon. A fried Egg though is good.

James has just got in from work. He said Jess had got herself into a bit if a state today as she had a new mattress delivered but her housemate wasn't in to help her get it up the stairs. She is a tiny thing and after an hour trying to get the mattress up the stairs she finally managed it after it kept slipping down the stairs each time she stopped for a breather LOL .It is in situ now :-D :-D

One wet Moggy has appeared now. Very wet ! He is having a bit of a wash and brush up :-). Doors shut now so no more going out until I get him in the carrier in the morning.

Evening all,

It's been quite nice day with lots of sunshine ,we're just back from Chelsea's birthday party ,she was pleased with her skate board and the other bits and pieces we bought her .

Oh naughty Thomas he went off before like that didn't he ,glad he's turned up now so you didn't have to hunting him out in the morning .
Have a great few days away Jane the weather looks like it should be ok for you.

That must have been a struggle for poor Jess having to lug a mattress up stairs ,i bet the poor girl thought she'd never get it up seeing it slip back every time she had a rest .
Has Ann gone on her hols then ?

I've never had peaches with gammon Mel or did you mean the peaches were for pud ?

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 18 Sep 2017 21:05

No I did mean peaches with gamon but I usually like peach halves and I only had slices. We had pineapple in the end though as that was the first thing out of the cupboard.

We too have had a nice sunny day apart from that heavy shower when I brought the washing in. Some went out again later.

I'm pleased Thomas is in now so you won't have to worry about finding him inthe morning. I hope you have a nice few days away in Suffolk.
When are you back because we are going to be a little thin on the ground?

No Anne for a few days... hope she is ok.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 19 Sep 2017 09:47

Morning all,

Its bright and sunny again this morning with stretches of lovely blue sky with white wispy clouds here and there. A nice day for a journey to Suffolk I should say.

I think the others picked the right week too.

Hope all are safe and sound this morning and slept well. I did in fact I have had three good nights on the trot and having said that I hope the pattern dos'nt change!

Di is calling in late morning. She has a bad back and her little old Jack Russel Molly died on the 30th. She was 15 I think so a good age but still sad for Di. I had a text from her this morning.

Frank Report 19 Sep 2017 10:54

Good morning my sweet things, evening Kim,

We had a lot of rain last night, but this morning th sun has got his hat on.

Ros was pleased with her watch I bought for her birthday, and the flowers look beautiful, each stem was in it's own tube of water. She has fed them and put them in a nice vase in full view on the fireplace. She's had loads of cards and some very nice presents. Of course Harvey's, Conrad and Jan, and Lewis's cards and presents are in Paignton. STOP PRESS. Harvey just rang, He Julia and Lewis are coming out to see us tonight. He has agreed to come out for a meal with us, but he is not sure what time Julia will be home, so I can't book a table. But being Tuesday, it shouldn't be difficult to get in somewhere. So their cards and presents will come tonight.

So it looks like it's all go here for this evening. There was I thinking of what I could do for dinner tonight as a nice surprise for Ros, as she didn't want to go out for a meal.

The door bell just rang, there was a delivery of a beautiful display of Flowers in a vase from Conrad and Jan, she is just taking a photo of them to send to Spain, and Paignton.

Have a nice few days away Jane, and hope the weather holds for you.

So skate boarding up and down the road for you Mandy. Have you bought arm and knee protectors for her as well ?? I have seen the children with scrapes and grazes, for not wearing them. They think they are tough enough not to wear anything. !!! If you decide to have a go yourself, WE WANT A PHOTO. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Hope we can get back to some normality here, I will get a coffee and a late snack for breakfast, then get into my book.

I came out again last night after laying for two hours. Ros came and woke me at 3.30 am when she went to the toilet. Were still asleep at 8.30 when the phone rang. Simon and Sally to wish Ros a Happy Birthday.

Hope this weather holds for everyone today, and you have a pleasant day xxx
