You need some of those wheat bags to pop in the micro Frank. Although you can't wear those if your going out.
Hope the match is a good one.
I am off up the shop now so will pop in later.
By the way clear blue sky and plenty of sunshine here.

Well it has turned out to be a lovely sunny afternoon :-D Almost wall to wall blue. All washing dried and deheading done. Chris has been pulling up some lavenders which have gone bonkers and all leggy. I got my Artichokes and now will have ot work out what I have to do to them tomorrow as they need to be sliced and roasted in the oven with Potatoes and Olives. I have a Turkey Breast marinating in a mixture of Mint, Parsley,Coriander,Lemon Juice,Garlic and white wine.It is bright green !!!!! Another recipe I haven't tried before so it will be interesting to see how it turns out.
Did you get to the pub in time for the match Frank? Who won?
Strictly tonight :-D.. Is this the first one? I did see the one when they all got paired up with the professional dancers.
All afternoon there has been a motorbike somehwere revving and making a right old din.It has been driving me crazy. James seems to think it could be over the back in the field .Hours it has been going on. I sound a right old curmudgeon don't I ,but it has gone on long enough now :-S
I think I might have a glass of wine and chill before starting dinner :-D
How is your wrist today Anne?

Good evening all
It's been a lovely day here as well. Earlier I had to scare away a very large heron eyeing up the goldfish on the bottom pond.
We have Becky staying with us since yesterday and at the moment she is on the settee with Ruby who is snoring her head off.
My wrist is still painful not helped because I have arthritis in both my wrists which seems to be getting worse [old age creeping on] :-( :-(
It was the first week of the actual competion on Strictly but I haven't watched it this time as we preferred to see 2 programmes on channel four from 7pm to 9 but will probably see it on Catch up
I hoped you enjoyed the football match Frank and your aches and pains have eased off for you
For any wine drinkers Sainsbury have a 25% discount if you buy 6 bottles or more needless to say I am going to take advantage of this

I was having a nice tidy in the uti room and oh came in and wanted a drink so I had just made it and done some maple pancakes and down the drive came Val and the two grandchildres, my boys from next door and Val was carrying a box.
Yes you guessed a baby hedgehog she found in the sunken piece in her garden. Its now in my shed in a big plastic box with plenty of food. It weighs 8 oz.

Evening all
Been in the garden ALL DAY putting the plants back in the border. OH has been out all day so Sandra helped me and we'd just finished as OH came home. He said it looks great. He did help me move the largest plant before he had to go out, so although there was probably about 100 plants to move back they weren't all big ones. I've put all the solar lights back and now it looks lovely.
Sorry to hear your wrist is still playing you up Anne, hope it eases soon. So you've been chasing away the heron? Lets hope it doesn't come back and your fish are safe.
Did West Ham win Frank? Hope they did :-) Pleased to hear your shoulder is a little better today. You did make me laugh when you said how many patches you'd need and that you'd be as hot as an oven.....you are funny LOL. Although being in pain isn't funny is it? Hope all your aches and pains ease soon.
Has the tree been taken away now Mel? How many apples have you still got or have you managed to give them all away? So you have a baby hedgehog to look after, 8oz isn't very heavy, will it be okay for the winter?
It must of been awful listening to that bike Jane. There used to be a drummer close to us and it drove us mad day in and day out. Thankfully we haven't heard it for a few years now, so they must of moved. I wouldn't mind but who ever it was wasn't very good, it was just bang bang bang for hours, so you have my sympathy. Hope your recipe turns out the way you want it to.
Just catching up with Strictly now, I recorded it earlier. It is the first one after they were paired off Jane.
I'm off to bed after Strictly has finished, I've had a lovely hot bath but I'm still a bit achy and very tired, so an early night should do me good.
See you all tomorrow Night Night

Morning all,
Not a very nice morning here and nothing like yesterday. We have grey grey skies and no sunshine at all.
Not a lot planned for today so I will take it as it comes. There is nothing that is urgent so I may go back to tidying the uti room as it seems everything is dumped in there out of the way. At some point it has to be cleared out. I do my ironing in there so its kept out of the way and its the warmest room in the bungalow because the freezer is in there too.
Hope the aches and pains are a little easier today. Oh's arn't as he is still walking funny after lifting all the trunks and big branches of the apple tree yesterday. Think he has hurt his hip again.

Good afternoon Everybody,
Where has the morning gone ???, I know I haven't stopped for hours. I was awake about 5.30 am and up by 6.30 Had my tea and sat with my book till Ros arose at 9.00 am. More tea and the paper came (via Tony) He has been my Sunday Paper boy since 1986 YES 1986. It started when we moved out of the shop and he would drive to Gayton every Sunday with the paper. When we moved down here 1996 he continues to collect his paper and mine.
I have prepared the Sunday Roast and vegetables, made the Yorkshire and Cheese sauce. Mowed the front and back lawns, and there's me asking where the mornings gone LOL LOL.
I really do ache all over now. This is when I would love to have a bath in the house. I could lay back and have a nice soak. I wonder if you can still buy the old tin baths we had in the war. That would suit me fine, sitting in the lounge in one of those. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Roa went round to J & C yesterday to de-head his roses as promised. She picked up a big bag of Apple windfalls all un-damaged as the fell on the long grass, that needs cutting.
Strictly was good last night, I think we will be seeing the Vicar going home early. But most of them put in a good performance.
All done and dusted in the green then Gill LOL. It will be nice to sit back and admire all your hard work.
Your poor OH Mel, I can imagine those branches and the truck being heavy. Why didn't he cut them up smaller with his chain saw ?? Mel, why do you want Gill's tree, haven't you got enough down there. LOL LOL. (SORRY)
Anne I love my red wine, and it's for that reason Ros only buys me the odd bottle here and there. I have my few cans of beer indoors all the time, so I don't go short.
What a BUMMER for West Ham yesterday. We were far better than Spurs but still lost 3-2.
We seem to have an influx of dogs round here. This morning one started barking, and within minutes I heard about 5 more. By the way that cat scarer I bought must be working, I still haven't seen hide nor hair of any cats.
I'm going to sit in the shower now, and try to get rid of some of these aches.
No sun here now, but it's dry, and with my lawns done I can sit back and have a cold beer before my shower. See you later.

Afternoon All
Lovely day again here :-D. I have another load of washing ready to go out so must remember to do that when I finish on here.
Anne, Sainsbury here has 25% off all clothing but not the wines. The wine offer finished a couple of weeks ago. I did go this morning and picked up 6 bottles but was then told 'no 25% off :-(. I couldn't go back and put them all back o nthe shelves so bought them anyway LOL. I bumped into an old friend who I haven't seen for well over a year and so we had a good old chinwag trying to keep our trolleys out of peoples way. We must have been yapping for about an hour !!
So my Artichokes I bought yesterday are THE WRONG ONES :-S :-S. It should have been Jerusalem and not Globe. Oh well I live and learn. The Jerusalem ones won't be in the shops until around November time.
Frank there is a nice big bath here, you are welcome to use if it would help ease your aches and pains. I know you will say no but the offer is there. I know you said you can't swim but I was wondering if water physio might help.
It sounds like a lot of us suffering painful joints and muscles at the moment.I keep forgetting how long ago it was I took painkillers and don't want to have more than I should as they have Codeine in and we know what Codeine does :-S
Mel that tiny little Hog !!!!!!. 8oz !...I think you should become a Hedgehog Rescue Center like Tiggywinkles. (I think it is called that). You know how to care for them so well and have the perfect place to look after them. :-D :-D
Gill that was sooo many pot plants you moved yesterday !!!!.What a job !
I enjoyed Strictly too. Some were so good and others a long way to go LOL. The 2 I was really wanting to watch both came bottom.Ruth and the Rev.
Thomas slept on our bed last night (and the night before) :-D.. But Chris said this morning he wants him downstairs tonight. I asked why as Thomas was no bother. He said he Purred too much LOL and kept nudging his hand. I love the sound of a cat purring when snuggled up with me.It is soothing. But then just after 5.30 it was wakey wakey time and i had to get up to let Thomas out.
The friend I was talking too this morning has a little cat called Dog ! and it is 20yrs old.
Right I must get this washing on the line.

No washing goinng on the line here as it has been raining since I posted this morning.
Poor Frank longing for a nice hot bath and us here with a bath that only gets used when I wash my hair over it. I rarely have a bath as when I get in I keep thinking of all the things I should be doing so its not relaxing. When I am in the shower its like a massage just having the water run over you and I feel very refreshed when I come out.
I can just imagine what Ros would have to say about filling you a bath in the sitting room Frank. When you think the miner wives had to do that for their families. All that heating and lugging it in and lugging it back out again afterwards. What a job.
I did laugh at you Jane buying the wrong artichokes. We grew the Jerusalem ones for a couple of years and I made soup with them which was really delish. We also sold them out on the barrow but they took up too much room and spread like wildfire so we got rid of them. They are also fiddley to scrape even when straight out of the ground as they are all wiggerly with creases.
Little Titch had eaten all his food by this morning and made an awful mess in its box by pulling its bedding and it laying in the water bowl so it soaked out all onto the newpaper lining its box. I must try some other bedding for it, perhaps some leaves as there are loads falling off the trees at the moment. I left it this morning with a bowl of dry food and fresh water.

Mel those 2 Artichokes I bought were £2 each ! The first one has gone in the bin after I pulled it all apart before realising it was the wrong type. I will give Fitz's OH a ring and see if she wants my remaining one.It is the kind of thing I think she might use. Fitz is now installed in his cottage in the sticks in Pembrokeshire .I just hope to heaven that he will not need an ambulance while he is there as it is up a single track lane right in the middle of nowhere. He says he has the most wonderful view of the sea and lots of sheep roaming around. His son and DIL are going to stay with him from Thursday night until Sunday and then he has an old friend (from school) going to stay with him from next Sunday afternoon for 2 or 3 days.
What a messy little Hog LOL.It sounds quite a lively little thing Mel and is eating so hopefully healthy and just needs a good feeding up.
I will be having a good soak in the bath tomorrow morning once James has gone to work. I just relax and think of nothing (other than making sure I can get out of it :-D) I make sure I always use the bath mat these days so my feet don't slip when trying to get up . I always turn over onto my knees and get up that way. Chris says it sounds like a struggling whale :-S :-S.. He isn't far wrong really :-)

Afternoon all
Quite a bright day today, it's been so nice to just sit down for a change after all the hard work in the garden, it looks so nice now.
That's an odd name for a CAT Jane, why did your friend call it DOG? 20 years old is a good age though.
Sorry to hear your West Ham didn't win Frank, it was close though. How are your aches and pains? Hope they are starting to go now.

Poor cat being called Dog !. I can't remember why Tony called it Dog. I thought Dog had long gone but I noticed cat food in Elaines trolley and asked if she still had Dog. She said 'she' is still doing ok at the age of twenty but looking a bit bandy legged now.Dog is one of the smallest cats I have seen .She is a little Tortoiseshell .I have a feeling she came with a house they bought years ago. They didn't really want a cat but kept her and now in the 4th home with my friends.
Ann must be home now. Hopefully we will hear from her soon :-D
I bet you have enjoyed a relaxing day today Gill. Just chilling watching some TV?

Oh Mel that's lovely another little one for you to look after and feed up ready for the winter , Little Titch :-D :-D i love it .
We watched the dancing last night ,i do think the Rev will be the one they keep in as the novelty one , didn't Debbie Mcgee do well .
I don't think i've ever eaten artichokes ,are they the things you peel most of the outer leaves off and eat just the tiny middle bit ? Poor cat being called Dog !!! imagine calling Dog Dog at night to get him in LOL

How lovely to have the bouncy castle out Mandy, I bet the little ones loved it. It's raining here now after a lovely sunny day.
I was thinking how odd it would be to call out dog for a cat when you wanted it to come indoors, I wonder if the cat was confused LOL :-D :-D
Yes Jane, Sandra has had us watching the X Factor most of the day as she had a few of them recorded and wanted to catch up before it was back on tonight. It's been quite a marathon with almost 5 hours to catch up on. Now we're watching tonight's. I was taking a look at my family tree while it was on, but did notice there were a few odd ones on there. I much prefer Strictly.
So you've named the little hog Titch Mel, that's what my OH calls me ;-) ;-) It's good it's eating, but not good the mess it's leaving behind. Using the leaves for it's bed sounds like a good idea.
Going to take another look at my tree now.

Surprise, It's me at this time of the evening. !!!
Victoria is on, and I am loosing interest in it. So I will be off to bed soon, as I still ache and feel tired.
I have never eaten Artichoke either, what sort of flavour has it got. ??
It was very nice sitting under the shower for almost half an hour. Thanks so much for the offer Jane, but I might go to the swimming pool to see if there are any therapy class's I could attend. I have the choice of three around me. So it might be worth a phone call first.
Lovely that you have a little "Titch" to look after Mel, I am sure he will grow up to be a nice member of your HOG family.
Ros has been in the garden all afternoon, weeding the gavel at the bottom of the garden. She said how warm it was outside. I know it was HOT in the kitchen cooking dinner. I ended up stripped down, so I could carry on looking after the pots and oven. Roa has just had a big piece of crackling that I had left on a plate for her. Aren't I a good husband ???
I have just bought a nice Lead Crystal Decanter for Simon as a present for Christmas. I am watching half a dozen crystal Whiskey glass's to go with it. Next thing will be to find what Sally would like. Ros went through her list of presents, and there is only the family to buy for now.
Off to the land of NOD now, so see you in the morning.

Good morning all, Evening Kim.
Horrible rainy day here. was up at 6.30 and it was hissing down. Thank goodness I managed the lawns yesterday.
Had my shower and DRESSED. Jan is calling in this morning on her way back to Paignton about 10.30. So I can't greet her in my dressing gown.
Still got my aches and pains. I think I have caught my left elbow on the edge of the door again as it's hurting like mad. I must try looking where I am going/doing.
What you all got planed for today.?? If like me NOTHING until I go to the hospital this afternoon about my eyes. I have three appointments with different specialists. So I hope they can/have sorted out this hole in the back of my left eye. I have run out of drops that I put in every day. So I might need to contact the Dr. for more. I will see what they say this afternoon.
Will keep you posted.

Morning all
It's raining here today so I'm going to take another look at OH's side of the tree. I'm having trouble trying to find a marriage record, it doesn't seem to exist :-S :-S
Yes, I hope your appointment goes well for you Frank with not much waiting time. Sorry to hear your elbow is giving you jip now. Can you use Volterol cream (sp) I tried it when I hurt my elbow and it's wonderful, although you might have to check if you can use it with your meds. Maybe you could ask the doctor when you see him, you might be able to get it on prescription.
You're lucky not having the rain Mel. How is Titch today? Hopefully not making as much mess now. Did you use the leaves for it's bed?
Going to get a cuppa now then crack on with OH's family, I'm hoping to find all his granddad's sibling's families today and there's quite a lot of them, so that'll keep me out of mischief ;-) ;-)
