Ooops, just reread my post and saw I said my cardi was 'boobly' instead of 'bobbly' !! LOL. What was I thinking when I wrote that!!

I must look up The Cowshed Anne. You find some nice places to stay. I hope you have a good week and that your wrist is much better now. I expect Ruby will be taking a few toys!! :-) It will be nice to meet up with family and celebrate Mark's birthday. Has the area changed much since you lived there? Where I lived from age 4 to age 9 is hardly recognisable to me now. Most of the houses and bungalows had wide gardens that have mostly had other houses built between them now and the farm across the road is a housing estate.

I bet Fitz is beginning to feel at home there by now Jane. lol I expect he will be full of chat about his stay when he gets back and sees you on Monday. It sounds lovely where he is with the sea view. When we had to have a new boiler a couple of years ago it was 15 years old so yours might last another year or two, fingers crossed. My back gave me a bit of gyp the day after my shopping trip, but it must be a nuisance when you just get a flare up of your hip out of the blue like that.

OH says it did rain here in the night but had all dried by morning.

I expect you will feel under the weather for a while yet Frank with having felt so poorly. The lawn won't hurt for another few days. I'm hoping I don't catch the cold the girl who served me had this afternoon. She irritated me by asking if I was alright almost before I got my foot through the shop door. I felt like saying 'don't I look it?' but bit my tongue. Then she proceeded to sniff every few minutes and rub her hand across her nose!!! Why not use a tissue or hanky? The same hands were then folding the top I bought.....yuk!! I rubbed some gel on my hands when I got back to my car.

The mucky pup Mel using her water dish! When I was at work we used to get cobs from the canteen with 'tuna mix' on them which I loved! It was tuna with chopped onion and grated cheese added and all mixed together.......very tasty. If I have Tartare Sauce that needs using up I will mix it with tuna to go on a sandwich as that is tasty too.

I seem to be missing a CD from the car now. It's a Four Seasons one I really like. I hope it's just ended up in the wrong sleeve or something and didn't go missing while the car was in for service.

That's just the sort of place I love Anne, clean modern and cosy and with a nice view. I like the headrests on the bath. I haven't seen those before! :-)

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 5 Oct 2017 18:55

It does look a lovely place to stay Anne. We are a nosey lot looking the place up but we like to know where you are. I am sure you will have a great time as will Ruby. Lots of nice new sniffs for her to search.

I have been cooking most of the afternoon. I have done Chilli for oh which will last for two meals and mince and mash for me as oh dos'nt like that. I can't be bothered to make sheep sh*t pie and I hav'nt had mince and mash for years.

Hope all goes well with the boiler Jane and it dos'nt take too long to do.

Jane

Jane Report 5 Oct 2017 19:57

Mince and Mash reminds me of years ago Mel When Dad and I would have that and Mum and Janice had TRIPE !.I can still see that tripe on their plates :-S

So another lost something Ann!. Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons . Or is it just the Four Seasons? I loved that music. I am going to have to have a little look on youtube and have a listen :-D That will bring back some memories. :-D :-D
I hope you find the CD. When I played CDs in my old car I would often find them in different sleeves. I am now wondering where they all are. I had loads of Erassure,Pet Shop Boys, The Who, Cat Stevens and even Demis Roussos. :-D

Annx

Annx Report 5 Oct 2017 20:16

It's the one that has Sherry Baby and Ragdoll on Jane........favourites!! LOL. I'm always sticking CDs in the nearest cover when I'm changing them in the car........something that OH would NEVER EVER do!!! :-0 I'm wondering now what the 3rd thing is I'll lose. :-S I like the Who and Cat Stevens as well. I still play ELO and Abba sometimes. You can play things on those sticks in this car as well, I haven't as yet, which is just as well as we know how good I am at losing those!!!!! :-S

Off to watch the recording of WDYTYA Ruby Wax now. I think it's supposed to be a good one.

Morning all,

We have another bright and sunny morning with blue skies and wispy white with a touch of grey clouds.

Gosh Demis Roussos, Forever and ever.........Had his LP. Lovely squeaky voice. Loved him. Sherry Baby and Rag Doll All my favorites too. I do hope you find that CD Ann. I might be like Jane now and have to go and listern to them on Utube. Or I could get Alexa to play them for me. I wonder if you could have an Alexa in the car?

Slept like a log last night after all the things I did yesterday.

Still no scissors.......................... :-(

I think this is St Luke's Little Summer. It is really lovely out there today. I have washing on the line and am going to clean the big girls out after a nice COC.

Frank Report 6 Oct 2017 12:01

Good morning fair maidens, evening Kim.

Nice bright sunny morning here, so I decided to get the back lawn done. I was out there by 10.00 am. It was very WET and quite long, so put the blade up a bit. Still got a big bin of grass cutting off it.

Ros has been doing the housework while I have been out there. She is now in the shower and washing her hair. I am sitting in a dressing gown waiting my turn. SHE WON'T LET ME IN WITH HER LOL LOL. What a shock that would be, as we have never done in in FORTY YEARS.

I will have to have a look at your holiday cottage Anne, As Mel said we are not a nosey lot, just interestered. <3 <3 <3

I wonder if Fitz will still be able to speak, being hid away for so long on his own. ;-) ;-) I expect he will fill you in on every detail, from ho you describe him.!!

Ann, That was discusting of the shop assistant to be wiping her nose while serving you, and then to handle your purchase, I would give it a wash before wearing it.

When I drove, I always had the CD player or the radio on. Ros hates the radio with a vengeance so it's never on, likewise in the house. That's why I enjoy my radio when I go to bed. I hope your lost CD soon turns up, together with your STICK and PASSPORTS.

Sirloin steak, jacket potato, coleslaw, and salad this evening. I will make made her peppered sauce to go with hers.

Have a good days folks, where's our Gill. helping the OH no doubt.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 6 Oct 2017 14:36

If Gill and Glynn have the weather we have I am sure they are painting that neighbours bungalow.

I have done the big girls and made lunch and also had a bit of a tidy up of some of oh's things he has left around the garden and outside his workshop. Emptied a dustbin that was round by the little wood and put the contents on the bonefire and brought it around to the workshop so it can be washed out and used for something. I may put it behind my shed to collect rain water as I don't have a tap near there. I have a couple of those dumpy bins round there at the mo.

Titch sort of used the poo corner last night and it makes it much easier to clean her out. I must take some more pics of her. She has been climbing up the walls again so nearly ready to go I think and there should be enough time for her to be able to get to the right weight for the winter sleep.

I always find it surprising how much you can get done when the weather is nice and sunny. we are forcast rain showers tomorrow.

Gillx

Gillx Report 6 Oct 2017 14:56

Hi folks

Just got back from my mum's we've been doing her garden, still a bit more to do so that's a job for one day next week as her garden bin was full to the top.

The painting next door has come to a standstill as she has ran out of money and can't afford to buy anymore paint. OH managed to do the front and the "L" shape part of the back, so just the side and a small area at the back of the kitchen, to do. Luckily they have big gates at the side of their bungalow that go in line with the same on our side, so you can't see down the side of the bungalow, so it won't matter that it's two slightly different colours. I doubt the bedroom will be done now either as her mum's suppose to be coming home early next week, so she won't want paint fumes around with her mum there.

I hope you have a lovely time away Anne and the weather is nice for you. We've had sun here today which is why we sorted out mum's garden as it's forecast to pour down with rain tomorrow.

So Titch is almost ready to be let free Mel? Maybe you could put her food and drink in the middle of the box if she's doing her business in the corners.

I spent all day yesterday adding all the information you gave me onto my tree so that's all done now. I'm now adding to that family with spouses children and grandchildren etc...

Well, I'd better go Sandra wants to watch another Christmas film I recorded for her last night, I just hope it doesn't jump as it was quite windy and that happens sometimes.

In case it helps, I have started double or even triple clicking on things on Genes which seems to be having a positive effect with less error pages. It might be worth a try as it might work for you all too <3

Afternoon All (although it is nearly evening)
The Gas man was here just before 8.30 and was away by 9.45. He has booked this Full System Flush thingy for Friday the 13th :-S. As I said yesterday it is a full days job.

Frank, Chris and I would never fit in our shower together LOL . Well we might just squeeze in but not enough space would be left to scrub eachothers back ;-). There was a time when we might share a bath but again we wouldn't be able to both get in now. The weight too would probably have the bath through the ceiling !! I remember that happening once in Coronation St.

Gill you never stop!. You put me to shame . You and OH are so good with all you do for others :-). Shame that there is no more paint to finish the job next door. I can imagine OH will hate leaving the painting not quite finished. But It sounds like most of the outside is done.

Bit of a mixed bag weatherwise here today. Quite a bit of sun but then more cloud this afternoon. I had a bit of catchup on TV with Ambulance and Louis Theroux .Then I decided to start getting a mixture for a Meatloaf which I am making tomorrow. Never done one before. I had to finely grate an Onion, 4 cloves of Garlic ,Carrot and Celery. I have mashed it all in the mince beef now and put it in the fridge for overnight. It was supposed to be 5% fat mince but I couldonly get 15% or 5% so went for the 15 just in case the other might be a bit dry. I have to do a glaze to brush over the top of the Baconstrips. It is Tomato Ketchup,Dijon Mustard and Soft Brown Sugar !! Bit like a sweet and sour. I might have to have something else on standby tomorrow in case this is a right disaster :-D

When I was in Tesco this morning I saw they had garden incinerators for £18 so rang Chris to see if he wanted one. He said it was cheap and yes get one. Could I pull the bin out of stack .No I couldn't. I heaved and struggled but they were firmly stuck so I had to go and find a strong man to come and help me out. Then there was no room in my trolley so I got that in the boot and went back for the rest of my shopping. I bought 2 EuroMillion Lottery Tickets for tonight. I have never bought a Euromillion ticket. If I buy anything it is just a when we have a Rollover on the normal Lottery or on the odd occassion a scratch card. Never win anything other than an odd £1 . I think the most was £40 years ago.

Titch sounds a right little character Mel :-)

I expect Anne and the family are now all at the cottage in Sussex. It does look really nice.
Frank,Fitz has not been on his own for the 2 weeks. His son and wife went to stay for 3 nights and then one of Fitz's old School friends went on Sunday and left yesterday. So he hasn't been lonely and will have certainly been using his voice LOL. He should be packing up tonight ready for the long journey home tomorrow. No doubt NOT bringing any of the bottles of wine he took with him. Maybe just the empties :-D. But I think he will have a little trip to the recycling bins in Fishguard :-D :-D. I know he has had a wonderful time in his favourite location. The memories of his stay should keep him going for a long time :-D.

I see the window feeder is empty AGAIN. These little birds are a greedy lot. Chris is just going out to refill it.

Evening all,

Bit of a mixed day with the weather ,sun at times but there's been lots of black clouds about too.

Thanks everyone for Colin's birthday wishes ,he enjoyed his day .

I should think the Meat loaf will be tasty Jane ,i've seen recipes with Tomato ketchup spread over the top , i think it was Ina Garten the Bare Foot Contessa who did it ,i like watching her cook .

What a shame the painting didn't get finished Gill ,i bet your OH would have liked to have got it all finished instead of having to leave it half done , at least the lady is coming back to her own home so that is good .

Sounds as if little Titch is coming along nicely Mel ,the weight is going on which will help her over the winter .
When do you get your new Girls ? i think you said some time this month ,i carn't believe we're a week into October already .

It looks a lovely cottage that Anne is staying in , i too had a little nosey LOL ,i hope they all have a lovely time with good weather .

Frank Report 6 Oct 2017 18:58

Evening all, Simon and Sally called in after being shopping in Northampton. We sat ,with a COT and mince pie chatting away. I forgot to put the Jacket's in the oven, so they didn't go in till 5.45 pm when they left. Dinner will be about 7.30 which is late for us, but we will no doubt enjoy it.

Good luck with your MEAT LOAF. Something I have never tried. I didn't realise Fitz had company while he was away. I thought he wanted time on his own. That incinerator was cheap enough. We aren't aloud fire of any sort round here, but they are allowed at the allotments. Sometimes you can see smoke from down the road, but BOY will they be in trouble if the council knew. !!!

I hope Anne is now settled in to the cottage. I can just imagine a nice log fire burning in the hearth. LOVELY <3 <3 <3

I'm going to enjoy a couple of beers while I wait for the Jackets. Ros has made th salad and coleslaw, so just the stakes to Grill when I am ready.

Jane

Jane Report 6 Oct 2017 19:12

Never heard of Ina Garten the Barefoot Contessa Mandy !!!!!! I will have to have a bit of a google on her :-D This Meat Loaf recipe is a Waitrose one. I just have a feeling that because my mince has a higher fat content it might be a bit on the sloppy side :-S

Does OH feel 70 Mandy? I remember feeling quite depressed when I was 60 :-S. Stupid I know but there was just something about that number .40 ,50 was fine it was just the 60 .

Frank Report 7 Oct 2017 10:43

Good morning Ladies, evening Kim,

Still got a stuffy head, and did;t have a good night with it, Coughing and nose blowing. It must have disturbed Ros, but she never mentioned it. I think I need a good rub down by a GOOD WOMAN LOL LOL

I laid in until 9.30 this morning, and still feel tired. Ros has gone off on her Saturday JAUNT with Martine, so I expect I will see her around 1,30. when she will bring lunch home.

Simon had me a little worried yesterday. He has to go to hospital every week and have blood taken from him, which gets thrown away. He has something called HEAMGEHROMATOSIS. It to do with the body making to much IRON. It's hereditary by what he says. His mother has been checked and all clear. So he has told me to go and get a blood test for excess iron in my body. I have googled it, and some of the symptons fit in with me. So next time at the Doctors I will ask about it, and take what I have printed off the web with me.

Nothing sort of day here at present, so I will get my shower and dress, and read my book for the morning.
See you all later.

Morning Frank and all,

O Frank you should get checked out as soon as possible if your son has told you this.

Dull wet and windy here today such a difference from yesterday and it dos'nt look as though its going to brighten up at all.

Usual visit to the shop this morning and I shall pop into Em's with these boxes for the boys for their Stickies.

Afternoon all,

Lot's of drizzle here this morning but the suns now trying to break through, plenty of wind and it's really blowing the leaves from the trees they are all swirling around on the ground .

Frank i think it wouldn't hurt to get yourself checked out next time you go to the doctors but don't sit there worrying about it may be one of those things that skips a generation and your mother or father might have had it and not you.

We're having roast chicken tonight ,all the veg are done ,this morning when we bought our fruit and veg from the warehouse they had sprouts on the stalks for £1.20 you should see the size of it it's like a small tree !! I'll stand it outside and they will keep for quite a while as long as Max doesn't get his chomps onto it :-D

Annx

Annx Report 7 Oct 2017 14:25

Afternoon All,

Frank, the NHS site says that you must have inherited 2 copies of the faulty gene, one from each parent, for you to develop Heamachromatosis. That would suggest Simon is right in that his mum doesn't actually have Haemachromatosis herself, but she could still be carrying the gene that she passed on to him, which together with one from you gave him the double dose to cause Haemachromatosis. If Simon had only inherited the faulty gene from just one parent, he would just be a carrier and not need any treatment. It sounds like you are just a carrier yourself so won't get ill with it. It can pass down the family for many generations without anyone knowing as 'carriers' will be well. It is only when one carrier has a child with another carrier of the gene that a resulting child has a 1 in 4 chance of inheriting the faulty gene from both parents and becomes ill.

I loved doing genetics at school and it would have been what I would have gone on to study if I could have stayed on at school. I bought a book on human heredity when I was aged 15! lol.

I hope you soon see some improvement with your cough/cold. I find if I get one they seem to last a lot longer than when OH has one.

He has whizzed off to a match now and I am going to a garden centre along the A5 as there is a clothes outlet and I have a credit note still to be used there. They have a nice farm shop in there too.

I was awake till 3.30am this morning and got up and made a COT and ate a yoghurt. I then went straight to sleep after that and only woke up at 8.45am and was late taking my tablets!

Oh, I have made another blunder. When I set off to my friend's yesterday I popped next door to collect a parcel that had been left there by the postman. He definitely didn't ring our bell as I was 'in'. :-S Anyway I decided not to take the parcel straight in home and popped it in my car boot till I got back. Off I went and when I got back, OH said when he came home from the garage earlier the front door was unlocked!!!!!! :-0 :-0 Oer, the men in white coats will be turning up soon!! :-S
