I think Debbie McGhee was a dancer in her younger years so she should be supple.

Well I have still been looking for people on my tree and I did manage to load it in the end. Been looking for a second marriage but can't find it so perhaps they just said they were married on the 1911. The wife has all her children with her from the first marriage and one from the new one and then has another in 1912.

Morning all

Kept getting the error page again yesterday but things seem fine today.

The weather is very dark so we're sitting here with the lights on, it's a very eerie atmosphere outside, we're supposed to be getting bad weather later today.

Not much planned, so I might take another look at my tree.

Good luck at the dentist today Ann, hope they can sort it out for you and you don't have to wait to long.

Morning Gill and all,

Gill I think we have the same light here. The sky is very cloudy but it seems like it is a yellowy light out there and its windy, very windy. There is not a lot of leaves left on the trees I can see over the wall to the front of us and not a great deal of leaves left on our big ash tree either or the red tree by the big pond.

I too have to have the lights on indoors or I would'nt see my keyboard.

Definately nothing planned for today so will just take it as it comes.

Good luck at the dentists this morning Ann and I hope you come home feeling more comfortable. <3

Morning All,

The sky looked very strange here first thing, but it is brighter with a bit of sunshine now.

Thanks for your good wishes Gill. I was nearly late getting to the dentist for opening time as OH forgot to set the alarm! I had a speedy shower and got there just as they opened the door though and they said to come back at 9.15am which I did. I was lucky to see my own dentist and he was surprised to see me back so soon! He has done a temporary filling for now and wants to see if the tooth settles down being as it was aching anyway before some broke off. If it does I'm to leave it till my next appointment when he will cap it. He said he may take the nerve out as well. If it doesn't settle I'm to go back and he may have to take it out. :-S It's great being able to open my mouth now without a horrid shiver through the tooth. :-D

I am off to Halfords soon to get me a steering wheel lock that will fit my car. I got some vouchers with my barclaycard points so it won't cost me anything which is good.

Frank Report 16 Oct 2017 11:10

Good morning my sweet things, evening Kim,

Hazy sort of morning here, fair bit of breeze, which I hope will dry out the lawn as it's very wet at the moment.

Forgot to mention, we have "BIGGLES" coming this afternoon and for an overnight stay. Ann and Alan are off down south to a funeral, so we are BABY SITTING. He's such a nice quiet sole, and fits in with us perfectly.

Glad you have your tooth sorted Ann. nothing worse than a tooth ache.

Ros will insist in putting up the Christmas Tree and outside lights every year, even though we will be off to Devon around the 20/22 nd for Christmas with Conrad. I wonder what Simon and Sally will be doing.?? No doubt spending it with Sally's Family. Will have to ask.

I don't think I mentioned. A girl that Ros worked with in Beatie's in Northampton years go, passed away the other week. She was only 52. When her mother died two years ago, she turned to food for comfort. She was well over 20 stone when she was "FIT" but ballooned to over 25 stone, and became house bound. Not sure who found her, but she only had one sister. She was cremated last week.

Chris is well ahead of himself getting the flower beds ready for the winter. Ros has made a beautiful flower bed where we took out the Cherry tree. It's full of Gladiola, Chysants , (sp) Dahlias with all the colour it looks great. I have to be careful when going round with the mower.

Hows the egg production going Mel. Have the yoke colours improved. ?? I bet you are enjoying them now. I had an Egg and bacon Sarnie for breakfast, but I bet your eggs are far better than Ros gets, even though she always buys the biggest free range ones she can.

It sounds like we are go to be treated to some heavy winds and rain. Watch out GILL and MEL, I think you are getting it first. BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES.

I was surprised to see the lad from Eastenders going out last night from strictly I thought it would have been the chef bloke or the little Scottish girl. But then again what do I know. I have two left feetLOL LOL.

Frank the sky has cleared and the wind is really getting up. I nearly got blown away when I let the big girls out. Fed the bantams in thier bedroom and outside but they won't come out and the polythene around their run has blown back and forth and ripped down the side so the wind is blowing straight through on all sides.

5 eggs this morning so they are doing ok. Yesterdays breakfast eggs were much darker yellow in the yolk so we are getting there and I have only had them a week.

Its good you saw your own dentist Ann and he has made you more comfortable with that nasty break on your tooth. I hope it works and you can have it capped rather than having it out.

Annx

Annx Report 16 Oct 2017 12:20

Is 'Biggles' another doggie friend Frank? No doubt you will find him some treats. We had eggs benedict this morning as the carefully eaten, soft muffin was better for my teeth. It was nice to have some tasty bacon and egg after soups and yoghurt for 2 days. I forgot to say that the dentist laughed when I told him OH had polished off the rest of my breakfast when the tooth broke off. What a shame about the lady that's died so young that Ros worked with. It sounds like she was lonely and maybe depressed after her mother died and weight can pile on so quickly with comfort eating. It was obviously a downhill slide for her then.

Ros's flower bed with the gladioli, chrysanths and dahlias must look a picture. Dahlias are one of my favourite flowers, they are so showy and come in so many different shapes and colours. I think the first ones I ever grew were called House of Orange and had huge blooms.

It's getting windier here too, but the window cleaner has been and on the right day which is good. OH wants to catch up on his notes now so I will pop to Halfords now. I can bring a lock for him too as he wants one the same as his old one he had. I will pop into The Range nearby too and look at their painting things and picture frames. :-D I'm hoping it won't be too busy with it being half term.

Yes I was quite relieved to see my own dentist Mel. He is the cheerful West Indian origins man, always smiling. I hope I can keep the tooth, but will just have to see how it goes. At least it is much more comfortable now. It sounds like the wind has really got up where you are. I think the bantams have the right idea!

O Ann so nice to hear how Maureen is getting on. I wonder if she is still painting houses too? as well as her pictures.

Its always nice when you have a good dentist that chats away to you and is a happy soul. Mine is great.

The sun has come out now, Sandra and I took photo's of it a few hours ago as the clouds had covered it in such a way it look like a big bright orange moon. At first OH thought it was the moon but realised it was in the wrong place in the sky. When I took my photo a plane was coming in to land and when I zoomed into the picture you could see the landing gear down.

Pleased to hear you managed to see your own dentist Ann, lets hope you can keep the tooth. It must be nice to be able to eat properly again.

It sounds like you have quite a lot of wind Mel if there isn't many leaves left on the trees. The wind is picking up here but so far no rain.

Just about to watch a Christmas film with Sandra now it's called Christmas come home but looks more like a romantic film than a Christmassy one.

Afternoon All
Well what a weird sky it was for most of today. It seemes all quite spooky. The sun is trying to break through now and the wind seems to be really picking up. My car was covered in sand dust this morning. Is that the Sahara Sand? I was thinking of having it cleaned but will hang on now until the winds have died down.
Is it supposed to get stronger tonight? Hope all the Chooks are safe Mel and the storm doesn't put them off laying for you. You are doing really well with the eggs now and the yolks sound good and rich.

So little Biggles is coming to stay Frank. What kind of dog is he? That was very sad about Ros's ex work colleague .It is always sad when people become housebound due to being so overweight. There is usually a reason that causes them to go down the over eating thing. She was so very young too.

Ann, your tooth will feel so much better now with the temporary filling. Hopefully you will be able to hang on to the nerve and not have it out. Not very pleasant :-S

Gill, I bet the plane coming into land was getting a bit buffeted around with the wind. I am so glad I am not flying anywhere today !!!

I have managed to get a hair appointment for Thursday afternoon. I really shouldn't be going until November the 2nd but I can't stand looking like I have wings and horns. I know I asked for it to be kept longer but this is crazy LOL .I just can't manage it.

I have Updates ready to install on the laptop so need to turn off Safari . BBL

Annx Report 16 Oct 2017 17:17

I took some pics of the sun too Gill. It looked so strange didn't it. My car was covered in a rusty coloured dust and OH has just told me that it said on TV that it is Sahara dust.

I have just put the turkey on to cook. There were still one or two bits of ice inside it so I don't think I left it to thaw for too long. I haven't had a frozen bird for a long time and when I cut the bag open, all the melted blood and juices ran everywhere and down the dishwasher door and all over the floor too. What a mess!! I mopped it all up, then washed everywhere with disinfectant and then splashed boiling water over the draining board as well. It even went over my slipper, so they are in the wash and then I nearly overbalanced washing my tootsies in the bath!! Talk about do one job and make a lot more!!!!!! I know how Frank feels now. :-D ;-) lol.

It's getting windier here and we keep hearing the sirens at the Police Station down the road so I suspect the weather may be causing problems on the motorway as that's where they are usually headed.

Jane Report 16 Oct 2017 17:41

LOL Ann my hair looks a right mess. It is fine when I wash and dry it but then it is all downhill the next day,and yes this wind hasn't helped :-S.I look like I have been dragged through a hedge backwards :-S :-S

Getting pretty gusty here now. Thomas came in earlier and looks all grumpy. He is all curled up on the settee. He doesn't like the wind. I think I will keep him in now(if possible) and he will have to use his litter tray tonight.
I h ope your nice clean windows aren't going be covered in the dust .I noticed all the white window sills are covered here.

It was good to hear from Maureen and know she is well . Does anyone have her Birthday date as it is her 70th coming up. I seem to have lost the date.I have a feeling it is November .
Boy oh Boy this wind is getting stronger now :-S I feel for anyone being right in the heart of this. I think I heard there had been a death in Ireland due to the storm . :-(

Evening all,

It's been a lovely day here we've been sitting out it's so warm , not much wind here.
What strange looking sky this afternoon though ,so strange to be able to look at the sun usually it's to bright to do that ,i haven't noticed any dust here but with the sky like that it might be about in the morning .

Ann you must feel better with the temporary filling now in place ,it's a worry when you lose a bit of filling and tooth your half afraid to open your mouth in case you get tooth ache , plus your tongue seems to get drawn to it .
Nice to know Maureen is ok and still busy doing her painting .

So you've got little Biggles again then Frank ,don't you go spoiling him will you ;-) :-D :-D

Mel , your new girls are now having good food at yours so the yolks are darkening up , i bet the girls don't like all this wind !!

Jane my hair is fine too and when it's windy it seems to have a mind of it's own even with hair spray on it never holds it in place .

Annx Report 16 Oct 2017 18:14

I have Maureen's birthday as the 14th November Jane. :-) It's lovely to hear from her isn't it!

My hair soon goes 'off the rails' if the hairdresser tweaks it a bit and leaves bits longer. It just reaches a point of no return doesn't it and rebels more quickly. lol.

OH is glued to tv footie at the moment. I suspect Frank may be watching too.

Having spent 6 old £1 coins yesterday I have found another in the bottom of my handbag today! I'd better pop to Aldi this week as I read somewhere that they are taking them for an extra week.

What a day we have had. I kept going out to feel the lawn, and finally decided to cut it. I got 5 boxes off of it, so is was due for a cut. Ros put two of her bucket type things at each end of the lawn so I could empty the grass box, without going to the green bin. Ros has taken down the runner beans, and instead of just ripping them off the fence, she unpicked them from the netting. The netting is so cheap, that it wasn't worth keeping.

The colour of the sky was almost frightening. It reminded my of the Eclipse a few years ago. Everywhere seemed to go quiet. That wind is really doing it's thing now. Poor little "Biggin's" doesn't really want to go out for a wee. We have had him before Jane he is a miniature shitsuoe , I think that is right, even though it doesn't look it !!!!

I was thinking of Maureen only this morning. Nice to know she is well, and still busy.

I think we have disposed of our old £1.00 coins. If we find anymore they can go in a charity box. I am sure they will be able to cash them in.

I am just renewing my Blue Badge. The things they want to know in unbelievable . I was going to put down mt inside leg measurements !!!!

Not going out tonight in this wind, I might end up in the gutter. LOL LOL.

Ros dropped one of my beers this morning. Glass and beer everywhere. She washed the mat, but when I stood on it then walked on the tiles,I slipped. Just managed to grab the sink unit, to save myself. She wasn't in my best books as you can imagine.

Had one of my favourites this evening, Cold Pork, Chips and Branston Pickle. I did a corn on the cob for madam.

Off the rails is a great expression Ann. So true. I look a fright . Thanks for Maureens B'day date.I actually just found it just now.
Mandy I don't have fine hair.It is really thick but I find since I have not been having it coloured it is a bit more wiry/curly and not so easy to control.
You have been lucky to be able to sit out today and not got blown away.Is your garden sheltered? It has been sooo warm though. I saw so many ladies this morning out in strappy tops and shorts .Men too :-D :-S

Fish and Chips and Cauliflower Cheese tonight. James has a Lasagne (whenever he gets home) .Fish and chips courtesy of Youngs and McCains :-D :-D

The winds picking up here now, it's more frightening for me when it's dark. I really don't like the wind. Good job we put heavy rocks around our large pot plants, we even popped a few smaller ones inside the pots and so far none of them have been blown over.

Nice to know Maureen is okay, I was thinking about her the other day.

Sorry to hear you've slipped Frank, hope you are okay. I think it's a good idea not to go out in this weather.

Some of the planes were coming in on an angle Jane, then we didn't see any at all for hours, it's dark now so I don't envy the pilots if they have to land tonight. I didn't realise it was Sahara dust that was making everywhere orange. It was eerie though.
