Evening all
Thanks Ann for mentioning a cable, I took a look in the camera box and there is one there, the only problem is it downloads all the photo's on my camera and with my laptop being so slow lately I don't want it to crash if I have to many photo's on it. Do you know how to put just one or two photo's onto a computer as I think my laptop could probably cope with that? Pleased to hear you have found a mattress that suit's both you and your OH, good job they take the old one away you wouldn't want it left outside getting wet in the rain, it would be far to heavy to lift to get rid of.
How is your SIL's sister today Anne, hope there is some improvement for her?
So Titch is out in the wild now Mel. I'm sure she'll be okay and at least she knows where to go for food. Hope you manage to see her on your camera soon.
Hope all goes well for Colin at the scan, I'll keep my fingers crossed for him Mandy.
Sorry to hear about your lamb Frank, at least the dog will enjoy it.
I've made a start on making a cotton dressing gown, mine is falling apart it's that old and I can't find a cotton one anywhere to buy. I bought some lovely material years and years ago and think I'll just about have enough to make a dressing gown out of it. I've cut the back and two fronts (it's a wrap over) and sleeves, I just need to make a belt and a pocket. The belt will have to be made out of all the bits left over, but once it's tied it shouldn't show.
Sandra loves the material as it's pink roses in light a dark pink with a white background. I bought the material about 10 years ago because it was pretty, but I didn't have anything in mind to make with it, so I put it away for safe keeping, I'm just glad I remembered where it was after all this time, I've given it a good wash and used my old dressing gown as a pattern, I just hope it fits when it's finished as I've never made one before.

I haven't had anymore news about Pat, Jean's sister but she did say she would let me know if there was any improvement. Pat's husband rents a very small flat in Brighton during the week so he can see her every week day. She is unable to talk when she tries a growling noise is all she can manage, they gave her a pad and pen to see if she can write anything with the arm she can use but all she wrote was GREY E E my thoughts were was she saying she was hungry, she is being fed through a tube it's so sad and I can't stop thinking of her.
Mandy,I hope Colin's MRI scan results are given the all clear. It's nice that little Katie is looking forward to her visit, is she the eldest granddaughter?
So little TItch is off to explore the big wide world Mel, perhaps he is hibernating near by and will visit again in the spring.
Jane it doesn't seem that long ago since Johnny took his own life, it's good to know James and the rest of his friends are staying in touch with his Mum. Naughty Thomas killing the little bird he is certainly reclaiming his territory are there any other cats near to you? Reading about Ann's socks getting mixed up with her OH's reminded when I first knew Peter, he and his three brothers falling out over their socks and underpants as they were always getting mixed up. This made me think of one of my friends and her sisters, the family used to say first out best dressed.
Just going to watch Elizabeth 1's Secret Agents on BBC2, my favourite period of history.

Gill with my new camera I can tick which pictures I want to download and then they go into Pictures. You can put pics into folders and then it dos'nt take up so much room.
When I want to send some to you lot I just right click on the pic I want and drag it to the email and it is then on the email. I also have to make the pics smaller by a little box on the right hand side of the pic.
Jane you could always just do a couple of coloured stitches on pairs of socks. One colour for James and another for Chris. If the stitches are at the top they won't show.

Morning All,
It's dull and windy here and driving the dog next door mad!
I wouldn't have been surprised to see a toe poking out of his sock Mandy!! lol. How lovely that Katie is excited at staying overnight with you and is busy sorting out what to bring! everything but the kitchen sink I expect! I hope all is well with Colin's brain scan. It sounds like the doc just wants to cover everything which is good.
Mel's advice sounds good Gill. You could try googling how to download individual photos from your make of camera too and see what it says. It was such a good idea to use your old dressing gown as a pattern, the new one should fit really well then.
It must be heartbreaking Anne, but it could be she was trying to say she was hungry. I wonder if they could take alphabet letters in or show them on a tablet and if she can't point they could either point or say them to her and ask her to blink when they said the right one and then they could show her as they write them down. It must be awful for her.
I don't think I could cope with more than 1 man's lot of socks! I have thought about using coloured cotton to mark them, even wondered if I could clip them together in the wash??
It's good Gareth liked the drawing of Stan Jane. I bet it will be up on the wall at the flat! I have a peek at Johnnie's Happy Place on FB sometimes. They have done really well with it.
Shower next and lunch, then we have to take back the steering lock for OH's car. Mine fits fine, but not his. Then more mattresses to look at!

Gill oh had a job finding a program online for my old camera (which was'nt that old) which is why he bopught me the new one last year. Do as Ann said and put the make of your camera on Google and see what comes up then let Ann know if you have found anything.

WAKEY WAKEY you lotto's 11.15 and only Ann about which is unusual.
Ros is at "LINUS" the place she takes and makes the Baby quilts for. I had to wake her at 8,00 am. Was a pity as she was in a beautiful sleep.
I'm all fed and watered. I promised Ros I would sort out my shoes in the cupboard. We have a charity bag to fill, and I have so many shoes from when I worked, and will never wear again. FINE, I started getting them out, but being bent over doing it, I went funny and fell into the wardrobe where the shoes are kept. I ended up face down amongst my shirts and trousers, with shoes and sandals/slippers all around me. I have turned off the lights and will leave Ros to sort them out when she gets back.
I was going say, with socks and pants, Ros use to put a couple of stitches in different colours for the boys things. As I wore Y fronts and not boxers she didn't have to do mine.
Anne I do hope you get some better news about your SILs Sister. That would be a good idea to have a pen and paper for her to write what she is trying to say. It must be so frustrating for all, trying to understand her needs. Bless her. xx
So you are all fixed up then Ann. When we bought our mattress they had a thing going with the Heart Foundation, where they would come and collect Clean Mattress's for not so well off people, that needed a newish mattress. A great recycling process.
I can't believe it's three years since Johnny left this world. It's great that James carries on seeing his mother on a regular basis.
Many I hope everything goes well with Colin's MRI. When I had an accident with a concrete garage I was dismantling fell on my head, I had to have an MRI. The chap said to me. "Good news Frank" YOU HAVE A BRAIN> LOL LOL. I have a blood clot on the side of my head, which isn't life threatening, so they left it where it is. It gives me headaches now and again, but I can live with that.
Gill, By the time you have chopped the material around to make a dressing gown, you should be well pleased with your efforts. Ir's not long ago, when you stated machining, I remember you looking for one. !!! With this Mac Book I can't load pictures from my camera. I have bought leads, but none of them fit.So will have to get Conrad or Lewis to show me what to do. ("IT'S AN AGE THING") LOL LOL
Amongst all my shoes, I found the charger for my electric razor. What a bummer, when only last week I bought a new one, that cost me £17,00.
Shin of beef in the oven for tonight dinner with Veg and mash. I will put a Rice pudding in the bottom of the oven for Madam. Which I know she will like. I have my monthly injection at 3.10 pm today, and I must take the scrips with me, as I am getting short of tablets.
Hi to Liz, if she's looking in. See you lot later. !!!

Afternoon All
Frank, not another tumble !!! and into the wardrobe too :-D. I bet you had a bit of a scrabble to get yourself out and up again. No harm done though thank goodness.
One of those long grabbers is a good idea of Mels. That could save a lot of bending down.
Mandy ,I hope OH doesn't have to wait too long for the results of his Brain Scan.I know they can take a good few weeks. You reminded me that I never had the results of the Xray I had done on my lower back in July. So I rang the hospital this aftenoon and the report hasn't even been done !!!!!!. That is 3 months which is shocking.
Fitz popped in this morning after his appointment with his Orthopedic Consultant .The results on his full body scan was ok and he will not need another op on his back.Which is great news. His pains are from nerves still healing after his op last December and Arthritis. He has been told to excercise !!!!!!. I won't hold my breath on that one LOL
James said that is was a nice evening last night with Johnny's Mum ,his Sister and her husband and a couple of Johnny's other pals.
Not a very nice day today. The wind was pretty strong this morning ,but it is so mild. I still have the big window open in the lounge. Thomas has been and out like a yoyo today and miaowing at me. He is now stretched out on his back on the floor next to me :-) He is still sleeping on our bed for most of the night.
There is a programme on tonight BBC4 Retreat: Meditations from a Monastery .Downside Abbey . Fitz went to Downside(school) when he was a little boy as a boarder and every morning at some ridiculousy early hour had to go to the Abbey for Prayers and whatever. He does not have happy memories really as some of the Monks /teachers were not the nicest :-(. Fitz's Brother and Cousin also went there. I am sure Fitz will be watching tonight. I will give him a ring in the morning .

Jane that awful not geting your results but perhaps there was nothing to worry about so they thought it not ugent. It is a bit much though.
Hope Colin's comes out alright Mandy.
I went up he High St today to try and get another pair of those pink and white handled scissors and tried three shop without success. I know oh bought me a pair the year before last in Homeleigh garden centre so I am going to ring them in the morning to see if they still have them. Bought lots of bits though and had a good spend up which gave me great satisfaction....................
Its been very quiet on here today.
Hope Frank is ok after his russle with the wardrobe and has'nt any bruises. Hope the monthly injestion went ok and you hav'nt got a sore botty.

Mel, my X-ray hasn't even been looked at yet !!. My Consultant has left so whether things are behind because of that I just don't know. I am not worried about it but would just like to know if it is Arthritis in my back or just muscle pain. Even so 3 months is not on to wait. I would love to have a walk up the High St in Bideford again. I was about 15 the last time I did that when my Uncle Jan was working in the shop that sold Carpets. Was it Chopes? He had a heart attack there and died in the shop :-( I am not sure it was Chopes .That might have been next door. The high street is so steep ! My Aunty Betty worked up there as a Seamstress . Can you not have a look on line for those scissors Mel(if you can't get them there) I just ordered 2 knee trays(with the bean bag bottoms) The one we have left here is as flat as a pancake :-S So that will be going in the bin .It has been used now for maybe ten years or so so it has done well.
Chris says is going on a walk tomorrow morning. He hasn't done one for weeks.Pitsford Reservoir is where he is going. Do you know that place Frank?
James has just got home from work .He seems to be later and later these days. So dinner is ready to be dished up for all of us. My tummy is a rumblin' :-D

Jane that is so bad having to wait that long for the results of your x-ray .I also have one of those lap top trays which I use when I haven't got Ruby on my lap which isn't very often as she loves a cuddle.
Sorry to hear about your tumble into the wardrobe Frank, fortunately no harm done, that was a good suggestion of Mel's for you to have one of those pick up grabbers.
I cooked Richard pork chops tonight and as usual I just had the veg plus roast potatoes, like a mini roast.

Oh dear Frank, it was a good job you had the shirts and trousers to land on and didn't hurt yourself. I bet it was a struggle to get back up though and a good idea to leave it for Ros. Fancy finding your charger too, but sadly not before you got the replacement. A few years ago I put my shoes that are in the wardrobe in a couple of medium sized polythene crates with lids on so I can pull them out to look inside. It does save grovelling about in the bottom of the wardrobe which gets harder to do as time goes by. I was looking at some of those fridge drawers in different sizes in Asda today that have a handle at the end and stand on the shelves. There was a nice narrow one that would be great for OH's various cheeses. He could just lift out the drawer when he gets his crackers and cheese instead of balancing them and dropping bits on the floor while he shuts the fridge door. They would fit more neatly taking up less space in the fridge too......good at Christmas.
In the end we bought just 1 mattress for now to test it and see how it is before getting another the same! I still got the free cover for it which I thought I may not with just buying one mattress. The 15% off sale may end today so it was worth sorting it today. One of the current mattresses we have is still in quite good condition so we can keep that and ditch the other one which really badly needed changing. They are delivering on the 16th of next month between 7.00am :-0 and 6.00pm! If you want to know if it's am or pm they charge you another £5 so I declined that! We have rung a man and van to collect the old one the same day.
I remember the white socks Mel as I had a manager at the time who used wear them with his suit and cycled to work in them! He was the one who knew all the city tramps by name and worked in the soup kitchen at the weekends.
The schools here had half term last week and are all back at school now. I said to OH it must be difficult if you have children at one school in the county and other children at school in the next county which has half term this week instead??
I bet Fitz was relieved about his scan results Jane and not needing another operation. Pity your exercise bike/trainer has gone now.......I'm sure he would have appreciated it........or maybe not!! lol. ;-) ;-) There was something in the paper the other day about how many hospital reports were waiting to be done. I know when OH went to the hospital at Hinckley last year he only got the results letter a few days before his next appointment 3 months later. I have recorded that prog. OH thought it sounded a bit slow, but I would like to see what the abbey was like anyway. I hope yours comes through soon.

Morning all and ~~~~~to Liz,
WE HAVE SUNSHINE and blue sky with those mackeral type clouds in white. I don't know how long it will last as I have just put washing in the machine.
Slept like a log again last night but woke earlier today. Did rise once in the early hours for the loo though and went off again as soon as my head hit the pillow. Oh was still asleep too and it was just getting light which is unusual as he is up before dawn most mornings.

Good Morning to you all, Evening Kim.
Not a good day so far for me. I woke feeling like a load of you know what. Had my COTs. Don't feel like eating. I went to see if the charity bags had been taken. Ours had gone, but neighbours were still outside. I am wondering if ours got stolen in the night. Came back down the drive only to see a front flat tyre. Ros said she hit one of hundreds of pot holes in the village, yesterday, when coming back from Margaret's. I tang the RAC and they were out within half hour, even as I told them there was no rush. To Crown it off the tyre is NEW 2 moths at the most, and it has a hole in the sidewall. So it can't be repaired. Another expense I could do without. We will have to go a get a new one fitted later. I have been in touch with the Highways department and want a claim form, so I can claim for a new tyre.
With me feeling like I do, I have been "biting" at Ros, and she in turn has been very short with me, So we are not talking. So my day is wonderful. :-( :-( :-( :-(
Yes Jane I know where Chris is going walks. LOL in 1976 it dried up completely in that drought. Were you around here then ??
While clearing my shoes, I found two files of Bank Statements going back to 2002/6. I have had the shredder out this morning, and they are now in a bin bag, in the Black bin.
Our school is on half term this week, you can hear them playing on the swings in the village hall car park. With weather like this it's better than sitting on their X BOX or stuck in front of the T.V.
I am still waiting for the results of my HIP X RAY and that's been two months.. I give up with the service we get from our Dr's. They said they would chase up the results, but I am still waiting.
What is it with these Company's ?? any way they can they will get more money from you. £5.00 for an AM or PM delivery. disgusting. The drivers must have a route, so they can tell with half hour when they will deliver anyway !!!
I will read the posts properly later. Bye for now.

Frank that happened to us when we lived in Redbridge. They dug this chanel across our road and filled it with shape srones till they could come back in the morning and oh came down the road in our car and a stone went through the side of the tyre and that tyre was only a couple of months old too. It was on our Triumph Stag. They would'nt pay up for that one as we tried. :-(

This crowns off my day so far !! When we went to get the tyre changed. I ask if they would check the tyre pressures as Ros keeps forgetting to check them. While checking the pressures, he informed us the two back tyres were cracking on the walls. From what he said they are FIVE YEARS OLD. They will almost certainly get failed on the next MOT. I know we only do 4/5,000 miles a year, and the treads are all in good order, so that's another expense I don't really need.
WELL DONE YOU MEL !!!!!. Were they found right under your nose ?? or had you put them in some obscure hiding place. ??
Really nice afternoon out, even though my pockets are empty. LOL The sun is very warm though the car windows. The streaks in the sky's from the planes, are everywhere. So I imagine we could be in for a COLD night.
I still feel horrible, and don't think I will be eating tonight as I feel as sick as the preverbal PIG. I have taken more pills for my headache, and Galveston for my stomach. I will sit back in the chair and see if I can get forty winks.
West Ham V Spurs tonight at the pub, but I don't think I will be there tonight. Early night away from a stressful day.

Sorry to hear that your feeling out of sorts Frank and you and Ros are having a stand off, bad news about the tyre and hopefully you get reimbursed from the council, not good also that the other tyres aren't too good either.
Lovely day here with bright sunshine from first thing. Ruby hasn't had her walk as I am expecting a parcel from Amazon, it doesn't bother her at all, Amy used to keep tapping my leg if she missed her walk
