It will take Simon and Sally about 4 hours to get their boat back. Then a 20 minute walk home to pick up the car. Then go back to where they left Sally's car when they picked the boat up. (CONFUSED ?? I AM.)

Neither of us feeling hungry, so might get something later. I had a nice plate of BANGERS and mash with a braised onion gravy. Ros had a Steak sandwich . (She didn't eat the bread),with salad. She had a Spinach soup for starter and I had Pate. So she is doing well.

Just spoke to Jan. Conrad flew up to Glasgow this morning for a weekend exhibition. He will fly back on Sunday afternoon/evening. He will fly back to Spain on Monday afternoon. So a lot of charging around for Jan. He went from Exeter but is coming back into Bristol, so lots of miles on the car !! One good thing is, she loves driving.

Dinner sounds nice Jane. I will have to check my lawns over the weekend if it's dry. With this weather the grass doesn't seem to stop growing.

Conrad is flying back from Spain on my birthday Friday 22nd into Luton, so we will pick him up from the airport and continue down to Paignton. We are going out for a meal which Jan said is already booked !! I expect we will drive to the Garden Centre Butchers on Saturday and pick up the Turkey and other meats for Christmas. That's my treat to them. !!

I see I am very chatty this evening. So I had better get off and leave you alone.

Jane I bet I will have put half back on when I weigh me on Monday. :-S

I just had a quick look for your missing William Kinsman and there's no trace of a birth or death for him that I could see. Just a thought though, did you see there was another sibling that you hadn't mentioned? Arthur J G Kinsman was the eldest child and born in 1921 in the same Stratton district as some of his siblings. He was born quite quickly after his parent's marriage in 1920. He married a Dorcas M Treleven in the same Stratton district in 1947. I just wondered if he might have been known as 'Billy' to the family? It's a long shot but you never know and his wife's name may ring a bell with your friend. I noticed someone had incorrectly added a 'June' as a sibling on one of the family trees!

Off to bed now to watch some recordings. Night night all. :-)

We like it when you are chatty Frank. At least there is something to read when I look in. I think its a bit much asking the ladies to take their machines up two flights of stairs Frank. I only moved mine across the lounge and that was a job. Can't they use the scouts hut for it? or the village hall?

Aspectek is the fly zapper. It is like the ones they have in shops. It has just got one and every time it doses it it makes me jump. Its on Amazon prime at the moment for £25.79 instead of £58.99.Well I thought I would have a go at the craft things I want to do today but doing the washing and changing the bed, getting lunch and then getting boxes out of the lounge cos oh decided to burn them and many other things and seeing to the chickens and bantams I hav'nt had a chance to even look at my craft bits so I think after Monty I may have another look at them and see if I can sort out the things I need. I did find a top I bought ages ago and the moths got in it. It was very fine toile fabric with beading on and little embrodered flowers and edging. I was going to chuck it out but thought I would cut out the good bits and chuck the rest away. I did just that. I never wore the top and it cost me fifteen pounds so it can do me a turn now made into something else.

I bet you will really enjoy that Silver Workshop Ann and your jewelry making will help a lot towards a great outcome.

Evening all

Just got in from mum's we've been re-doing the bottom of her garden for the last two days and we're back there again tomorrow. She decided she didn't like that part of her garden so OH and I offered to sort it out for her. We're trying to get as much done as we can while the weather is dry but we're very tired when we return home. I'm off to bed now as I can't keep my eyes open.

I still haven't managed to catch up with all the posts, so hope all is well with everyone. I don't think I'll be back on here before Sunday, so hopefully I'll catch up then.
Bye for now
Night Night

Good morning FAIR MAIDENS, Evening Kim.

Just goes to prove, you never get the story right when you are ear holeing. I was listening to Ros's conversation when I said we are picking Conrad up and going to Paignton WRONG. We will pick him up and bring him back here. He will take us out for my Birthday and stay the night. Then he will drive our car down to Paignton on the 23rd.

Didn't eat last night, and as yet not eaten this morning, just THREE COT. I might have a bowl of cereal later.

Simon rang last night to say how nice is was to meet up for lunch. Ros has suggested that we have them over in December for a pre- Christmas Dinner. Poor Sally is WORKING Christmas day, so Simon will be going to one of Sally's family's for the day.

Ros is meeting Martine this morning. I have told her to get anything she needs for her meals during the week. So I can cook/prepare what she wants !!! That means I will be preparing separate meals. "A MAN'S WORK IS NEVER DONE"

Gill your MIL must be well pleased with all the work you and your OH are doing in her garden. You will be glad when it's over, so you can have a rest.

Where is the OH off to today Ann for his match. Will you be going with him. ??

Spurs play Man. Utd. at lunchtime today, so if I feel like it I will walk down the pub, if not it will be on the radio.

Nothing sort of day here again.

Morning fair Lad and maids,

They said we were going to have another nice day today but I don't know where it went as it is quite dull and dreary out side and last night was very cold. I cooked rice for oh with his chilli and all the windows in the kitchen were running with water and I'd had the extractor fan on all the time I was cooking.

Iv'e turned the heting on for a while this morning as it feels really cold in my bones and my right kneev hurts sort o f behind it. It did a few nasty clicks yesterday while I was hoovering and sorting the bed out so I am hoping it was just that and not the dreaded A.

Usual routine today, shop for the paper and egg delivery.

Morning Mel,Frank and all

Not such an nice day here either Mel. I think it is going ot be mainly cloud with a smattering of sun.I expect not the evenings are getting colder we will all be getting those steamed up windows when we cook.

Gill you and OH could set up a good little business as gardeners :-D :-D. MIL is going ot be pleased with the work you are doing for her again :-D

Frank ,I used to enjoy working Christmas Day when I was nursing. Mind you I was not a Mum then so that made a big difference. The Doctors would all be in fancy dress and the Consultants would carve the Turkey for the ward. I bet that hasn't happened likethat now for a very long time. (this was back in the 70's ! )
Hopefully Sandra will not have too busy a time when she has t owork this Christmas Day.

RE William/Billy Kinsman how strange there is no record of him. My friend Margaret who is another sibling that I can find no record for . She said her oldest brother Arthur died before she was born in 1937. Then after Arthur there was Joyce, possibly then this William and then it was Henry, June and then Margaret.
So June is correct on a family tree but Margaret should be there too :-S
She told me that when William was born there was something wrong with him and he was taken to Exeter (I assume the Hospital) .She said there seemed to be a mystery around William and there is no-one alive in her family who she coud ask now. It is all very strange .

Right I am off to Tesco now as we have no bread and Chris and James will be looking for some soon !! BBL

Afternoon All,

Dull and cooler here too. OH has just gone to the All England Sports Ground at Melton Mowbray Frank. I think the local Long Clawson team are playing. He loves me to go with him and go and do my own thing while the match is on, but I don't often go now as my knees play up and have had enough after about an hour. It's a bloomin nuisance and stops me doing all sorts!! He had to blow one of his tyres up before he went as the warning bleeps were on when we went out this morning! That was quite a trip for Simon with the boat and it's good he is enjoying meeting up with you. I bet he and Sally would love one of your meals before Christmas.

Mel I am hoping to do a bit of craft stuff later. Thanks for the info on the fly zapper......I'll have a look at them as we get more flies now and I hate them. It was a good idea to salvage bits of the pretty top. I hate throwing some things out and years ago kept all sorts to make different things from like outfits for rag dolls I made. I don't have so much space to save stuff now though, which is good in some ways and stops me saving too much! I have some nice, too small for me now, jumpers in the loft that would make good cushions. :-)

Gill, your mum is lucky to have such willing helpers. Just mind not to overdo things though. At least the weather has been good for you to get things done outside.

Well I shall pop out and see where to go after filling up with fuel as the sun is trying to break through. BBL.

Didn't see you there Jane! I see that June was a sibling then! I saw that her birth record mother's maiden name showed as 'Glidde' instead of 'Gliddon' and thought someone had added an incorrect person. Seems the birth record I looked at had an error in the maiden name.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 28 Oct 2017 15:21

Ann I have sent Jane loads of stuff on the Kinsman children with the mothers maiden name.

Annx

Annx Report 28 Oct 2017 15:54

Didn't realise you had found and included the birth details for William (Billy) in what you sent to Jane Mel as she was still saying today it was strange there were no records for him. As you have already sent this and she doesn't need that info now, I have deleted it from my previous post. No point me clogging up the thread up with info that's not needed anymore.

Jane

Jane Report 28 Oct 2017 16:39

I am really grateful for all the info . I didn't see anything about William /Billy Mel in the info you sent me. I may just have missed that though. Which is why I was still stumped on him.
Thanks Ann for putting up the birth details. I think I found his death just now in Exeter. 2 yrs old :-(. It must have been in the hospital there. I have passed all on to Margaret now ,so for now I think I am done on the Kinsman family.
:-D
I do appreciate any help from you girls when I am stuck.Which can happen often LOL
This is the first time in probably over a year I have been back looking on ancestry.

It is soooo dark here!. :-D Clocks back tonight.

It's turned blooming cold, I walked down to the pub just after noon, and couldn't get warm. No heating on.

Had a nice Salmon roll and salad for lunch, and had a good doze this afternoon. I hope I sleep tonight.

The phone just rang and woke Ros. It was Jan, to say she is meeting up with Harvey and Julia for lunch tomorrow in Bristol. Conrad's plane arrived back at 9.00 pm tomorrow evening, so a late night for them, it's a good two hours back to Paignton.

Don't forget the clocks tonight. !!!

Chinese takeaway tonight. I don't know if I fancy anything, Ros will have Salad with a piece of chicken I expect.

Strictly tonight and that about ll, thank goodness for SKY.

Evening all,

Really cold here now so the fires been lit ,we had Katie stay over on Wednesday night and Chelsea stayed over last night so we're both totally worn out ,it's good the clocks go back tonight we can get an extra hours sleep LOL poor Max is tired out too ,they've had him racing about in the garden and he's had extra walks too .

Will catch up on all the posts now , hopefully tomorrow i'll be more with it .

Annx Report 28 Oct 2017 19:17

Every time I try and post today I get the 'error page'. I can't for the life of me get my tree to load either! :-S Has anyone else had the same trouble loading their tree? It's always when you have some info you want to put on it before you forget as well.

Mandy I can just imagine Max thinking all his Christmasses had come at once with the girls to have fun with! I bet he's already getting his extra hour's sleep in. :-) Did Katie get plenty of things in her bag to bring with her? lol.

I put the heating on for a quick blast about teatime. As soon as the sun went down it was chilly. We tried some bubble and squeak sausages tonight but they were pretty tasteless so we won't be getting those again.

Is your hip/back any better today Jane after that long sit in the theatre? At least the window cleaner wasn't due when Chris was applying the Voltarol!!! lol. :-)

That reminds me at the carvery the other day we were standing at the front waiting for the chef and OH was holding our tickets which had 'SMALL' printed on them to indicate a small plate which is what we have. He held them on his waistband and nudged me to draw attention to his waist, saying it said 'SMALL'. 'Whatever you do don't let it slip any lower' I said, 'I have MY street cred to think about'. lol. :-)

I can't believe my hairdresser. I got the usual email appointment reminder a few days ago, then the follow up text they usually send a few days later came this morning. This time though it asked me to text back to confirm I'd received it as well, which is annoying as it will cost being a PAYG phone. It's not as if I regularly forget hair appointments or ever asked them to remind me. I'm very tempted to text my reply and ask them to confirm they have got it! It could be never ending couldn't it.

Strictly is recording so something to look forward to later and it is the start of the new Blue Planet tomorrow which should be very good. David Attenborough has the perfect voice for these documentries.

Hopefully the M5 will be clear and they get a good run home Frank. Trouble with it being the end of Half term it might well be busy :-S
Loads of fireworks going off somewhere in the distance here.last night we had a lot going off from a few doors down the road. I think a family celebrating Diwali .

Chris found something in the garden today.Probably 24 years after it was last used.
It was a plastic shield that James played with. He had a plastic dagger too to go with it .No dagger found. But what a find after all these years. James remembered it :-D :-D
It is now in the recycling bin :-(. I thought it was just old dogs toys we kept finding .So this was a real find LOL. It was under a lot of Ivy that Chris was clearing down the bottom of the garden.

I have been wanting to use my machine as I told you earlier and we don't use our lounge so evrything is dumped in there. Well today I decided to use the machine in there and had moved it to the west window in the light. I got the extension lead ourt and plugged it in and had my bit of craft ready to sew up when oh arrived in the doorway and said "I did'nt know you had cleared the hedgehog stand. I'll put the floorboard back down now and take the stand out. " guess what? I did'nt do any sewing at all but cleared part of the lounge. He had the floorboard up when we sprung a leak in the heating pipe and fixed that but wanted it left open to make sure it did'nt leak where he joined the pipe in. Its been like it for over a year!! Anyway he put it all back together and took my fishtank out into the garden which can go in the shed and took the stand out too. It took all afternoon to hoover and get things back in place and I have only done half of it so far as its such a big room.

My sewing is still by the side of my machine just laying there waiting to be put together and now the urge to do it is waning.........

Ann I loved your answer to oh!!!! Very quick.

Morning All,

Dull dreary wet and raining a really horrid dank morning here. Its so dark today I have to have the light on in the kitchen to see the keyboard.

I did so much lugging about and hoovering tht I ache today. I did'nt even watch Gunpowder last night just half of Harry Potter magic program. I did do a little hand sewing though.

Good morning Main Mel, and all you other maidens, not forgetting our maid in Australia. xx

No rain here Mel, but very iffy, Not been out but it looks on the chilly side.

I've woke this morning very giddy and not good on my feet. Hips and legs aching. (THANKS JANE) xxx

What a dutiful and considerate Husband I am !! Have prepared all the veg for dinner tonight. No Yorkshire pudding and no cheese sauce. No oil around the meat. It will cook in it's own fat. That way it will be as fat free as I can get it. I only hope she keeps with this diet, as I am going without as well. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Simon (dear boy) rang at 8,00 am this morning returning my call from yesterday. I was up drinking a COT but it woke Ros, and she was out in the lounge soon after. Whey do people think just because they are up, everyone else should be :-| :-| :-|
Anyway, they are moving the boat back to it's mooring today. When moving it yesterday , they had to go through a double lock. The other boat had not been on the canal's before and when entering the lock scratched all down the side of Simon's boat. He has just had it PAINTED. So he has to repaint the side again. He seems quite O.K. about it, and didn't loose his rag !!!

Ros is having trouble with both of her machines. One keeps backing up the stitches, and the other does about 10 stitches then packs up. So not a happy bunny .

I going to settle down with the paper and crossword. I never seem to get very far with crosswords, but at least I try, and it makes the "old grey matter" work. !! LOL LOL

Anybody doing anything today apart from cooking and eating. ???
