My mum used to say that about eggs Frank. Yes, superglue is a devil to get off, it sets like concrete. When I took OH to the hospital they had something that reversed the glue back to a liquid so he was lucky. Ever since then we've always worn plastic gloves, just in case.
I never bought any potatoes in the end as I couldn't find any in the shops I went to, so it'll be shop bought ones for us this Christmas.
Good idea to leave your lawns if they're wet, you don't want your lawn mower to blow with you holding it. Enjoy your book, that was nice of Val to bring it round for you and a few more to follow, that'll keep you occupied while Ros is out and about. I bet you're looking forward to watching what you want on TV tonight, have you got them all planned yet?
It sounds like you're doing well with your eggs Mel, 8 in one day, can't be bad ;-) ;-) are the yolks any yellower? You said they were a bit pale a few weeks ago.
I'm a bit stuck on OH's tree at the moment as some of the people on the tree his cousin opened for me are hidden, so I think I'll go further back and fill in a few gaps with the ones I can see, as I haven't added any new people yet.

Hi gill,I know when I mentioned the type of potato Mel couldn't find them either. But I managed to buy the beans she recommended, they are in the conservatory until the spring when we will play them in pots. When they get about 10 inches high we plant them in their position up waist the side fence.
I;m still reading Martina Cole. The new book will be started when I finish that.
I have the T.V. Magazine ready for tonight. I will watch MY Programmes until Ros gets back from Choir practice about 9.30/10.00 pm. Then when I go to bed she will watch her soaps.
I must make myself do more on my tree. I know there must be a lot more people to find. But with all this reading and relaxing, I don't seem to have the time.
Ros came home about 2.30 this afternoon. There were over 30 women there today all making Christmas decorations. One woman had a LOG with a hole drilled in it with a scraggy branch glued in it, sprayed Silver with lots of small baubles attached to it. She now wants me to have a walk down the canal, to see what I can find ;-) ;-) ;-) as she said it looked so beautiful.
She has bought home some embroidery that the women are doing. She has it now to do her turn. It's a Bishop's Chair Cover. Whatever that is ??
I'm doing myself a Jacket Potato, with Pork steaks and sweetcorn for tonight. Ros will have one of her slimmer meals. I must admit her meals do look tasty, but I bet mine will be even more TASTY !!!!

Afternoon All
Just back from the hairdressers . Had a good cut and it feels much nicer now :-D. Looks better too.
Frank you sound a lot chipper today :-D Your good sleep last night must have made a big difference :-D "All right me Duck" thats what they say here :-D. In Plymouth it was always Bird and I think the Scottish say Hen. Strange how it is all birds. Doll is another one that my B Brother says .Another Plymouth one is "alright my lover" .
Ros is so busy with all her things she is doing Frank.I don't know how she fits everything in !!
Gill on a family tree when names are hidden is that because they are still alive? I am just writing up all the info now for my friend Margaret on her Kinsman family and will get that off in the post to her over the weekend.
Chris bought the ingredients for the Xmas cake but bought 2 bags of Raisins instead of I and the other should have been Currants so he has just whizzed off to the little Sainsbury in Burton Latimer to get the Currants. He wants to get all the fruit soaking tonight .
Mel you are doing really well on the egg front now :-D. 8 is a good number. What might be the most you could expect from the girls?
I popped into a little chemists next to the hairdresser to see if they could suggest something better than normal lipsalve or vaseline for my really dry lips. They suggested something called Uvistat which has a high SP factor, but they didn't stock it. I shall ring Tesco Pharmacy and see if they have it otherwise it will have to be Boots.
Ha Ha !!! Chris has just rung to say little Sainsbury is out of Currants so is now on his way to Tesco !!!!! Have asked hm to see if he can this lip stuff for me while he is there :-D
I am all itchy with hair down the back of my top so am going to go and put something else on. It is driving me potty.

Got there in the end and here I am as long as this posts ok.
My nan (mum's mum) used to call me Ducks and I hated it... An aunt used to call me Lass and I did'nt like that either. Down here I get called Maid sometimes but I don't mind that.
I had a good look around Holsworthy and got some bits for my crafts but still forgot the leather boot lases. I had them on my list but never even looked at it!! I bought two bunches of white flowers for the church and I shall have to do those tomorrow.
Jane I have 11 hens now but four of them are my really old ones so one of those must have laid yesterday with getting 8. Emm next door told me she will take as many as I have as her sister and mum have them from her.
I bought the boys something for their stockings today and I know they will love it. Its Farty Putty in a little bucket. I can just see their faces when they open it and imagine the giggles that will be going on.

I just love her accent. You listen to her talk for ages :-D I have had 3 phone calls tonight and have been on the phone for 2 hours !!!. I didn't make any of the calls. Now I need to get my dinner in the oven.Chris has had his, and James is still at work.

We have been busy in the garden getting the garden furniture staked away in the shed for the winter ,also been to the tip to take some garden rubbish . Colins brother came this morning for coffee and bought me some cooking apples so we'll be having a nice crumble tomorrow .

Evening All,
You hear a lot of 'Aye up me duck' round the city market here! lol. Local lads called us 'birds', but when I was on detached duty at Nuneaton for a year one of the men there called me a 'chick' which made me smile as I was in my 40s then. I preferred those names to being called 'babe' nowadays and the way young folk call everyone 'guys' in restaurants and the cinema.
My mum used to say that about eggs as well Frank. I'm glad you got a good night's sleep last night. You feel so much better. It sounds interesting the things Ros is making. Are the baubles made from fabric? She certainly keeps busy with all she does. It's a pity the cars were no good, but the Honda you found sounds a good bet as you say. Pity it's not nearer. He needs to get a replacement soon doesn't he for getting to Uni.
Well, after thinking our tomatoes were about done I have 5 basinfuls on the kitchen worktop and more to come! I expect the first frost will finish off what's left, but I'll get OH to pick any full sized ones now as they will ripen indoors.
Gill, your tree must be growing well with all you keep finding to add. I must do some more on mine too. I haven't mended the bird yet and may do it tomorrow when the light is good. I have some thin rubber gloves left from when we sorted MIL's house so I'll wear a pair of those. I want to put old towels all around it in case the top bit falls off after I stick it!! It says to use nail varnish remover to take off any glue that's surplus so I'll get the remover and cotton buds ready for action too. There isn't much time before it sets solid so you need everything to hand ready to use before you start. I had to chuckle at the thought of your OH if he'd got stuck to the toilet seat!!
Mel, the chucks are doing well in the egg laying dept despite their missing feathers. I bet they are happy and loving it at your place now! :-)
OH has gone to yet another match tonight as he says he will be out at meetings all next week and won't be able to go to any. He's been picked up by a pal who's driving makes him want to shut his eyes!!!!! lol. Luckily they are only going a few miles. :-)
This afternoon we were out and came to one of those chicanes where one side has the right of way and the other side waits till the road is clear. It was our right of way, but the driver the other side just barged his way to our side of the road and made OH brake. Next thing OH had to pull up as 4 other drivers followed this idiot ignoring that it wasn't their right of way. Where is a policeman when you need one? We were saying the other day that we hardly ever see a police car now nor the ones on motorbikes and certainly not any on foot.

Morning all,
Bit cloudy and dull here this morning but I am hoping it may brighten up a bit later on. There's been a heavy dew so everywhere looks wet and the leaves on the trees out the back have turned russet over night.
I'm up the church today so shan't be around till later on.
Hope you all had a good nights sleep and feel refreshed this morning and ready to face another day.
Ann people are always in a hurry nowadays and can't wait a min. I find many a time I have to give way to cars coming down a hill when they should be giving way to me. So rood. :-|

Good Morning "SKIRTS" that was another name for girls, Evening Kim,
Clear blue sky's here Mel, and the big YELLOW THING is shining !!! I don't know how wet the grass is, as I haven't been out yet.
Another "PIG" of a night. I enjoyed my three hours of telly, and started to watch "Lewis" when my eyes started to go. So I was in bed before 10.30 pm. For some reason my Dad came in my mind, and I was going way back remembering my young life with him. By 12.30 am I was wide awake, and got up. Ros was just finishing watching the SOAPS. She turned the tele, off and went to bed. I sat with my book until 3.30 am and crawled into bed I slept to 7.45 so had a few hours.
Mandy how nice to be able to pick your grandchildren up from schooling bring them home for tea.
Jane, It's the first thing I do when I have a hair cut, is to wash my neck and shoulders, and put on a clean shirt. There's just something about hair bits down your neck. !!
Ann, You could have had an accident through that idiot cutting you up. I think they should put traffic lights at those horrible junctions. Typical that the others follow like sheep, you wonder what they have between their ears. NOT BRAINS !!! You certainly won't be short of Toms. Do you make Green Tomato Chutney with the unripe one. Ros has always done so, but I think we still have some from last year. !!!
Ros makes her baubles from Polystyrene balls, and Pearl tipped pins. She covers the balls in pins and put a tinsel ribbon on it to hang on the tree. She also makes a lot of other decorations. I don't know where she finds the time and patience from <3 <3
That's good them Em will take all your excess eggs Mel, and the her Mother and Sister takes them too. I wish we had an Egg Farm close by. I think the nearest one is about Nine Miles away. Ros always buys the largest free range she can get from Tesco. But they are never the same as a good fresh Egg.
We have bought (well Ros has) TWO large gammons for Christmas, I did one last year, but it got ate so quickly I had to do another. Greedy beggars :-| :-| :-|
Ros is at the nurse this morning for her diabetic check, and we are at the will writers at 2.00 pm this afternoon.
he Guy with the Honda wants to let the Auction finish to see if it sells, before considering my offer. SUBJECT TO SEEING AND TRYING. That will be for Harvey and his BIL to do. It will be our job to top up any extra money Lewis might want.

Afternoon All
What a cold looking sky it is now. It was quite pretty just now with pink clouds . Looks like we might be geting a lot of rain later tonight and tomorrow. The garden will be glad of it as everything is bone dry.
'SKIRTS' !!! Haven't heard of that Frank other than the saying 'a bit of skirt' !. I don't like that :-S
Mandy I bet the children love coming to you on their own as they probably love the individual attention they get from you and OH. It must be hard for Mum and Dad to spend a ot of time with each of the children on their own. I expect it is nice a peaceful too at yours LOL
Frank when does the car Auction end for the Honda? I bet Lewis can't wait to hear.
Ann, I always look a long way ahead of me coming up to those bits of road when one side has right of way. Often the same thing happens like with you yesterday. If I spot a car coming up a bit swift and they don't have right of way I will slow down just in case they don't stop.
The house is smelling rather Christmasy. The Cake is in and almost cooked.Chris made it earlier and it has been in for almost 4and a half hours now.I hope it turns out ok otherwise Chris will not be a happy boy.
Thomas had me up again at 5.30. It sounded like a herd of elephants thundering up and down the stairs and along the landing. He had his crazy head on and was really acting the goat.He better not be doing that again tonight :-S
Spag Bol for Chris and Me tonight . James has a M&S meal Beef in Red wine wit hcarrots and potatoes. He was hoping to be away by 7 to set of to Jess but he says he is going to be late in from work .Last night it was 8 when he got in.
I still haven't been to see Victoria and Abdul Ann.I'm glad you enjoyed it though. I'm sure it will be around again sometime somewhere. We are going to see Paddington 2 at the end of the month :-D. I think Fitz is coming too as we all saw the first one together and really enjoyed that.
The oven is pinging so the Xmas cake is done. Chris is heading out to the kitchen now :-D.. I will stay out of the way until he calls me :-D

Evening all ,
Mostly cloudy here today ,i let Max out just now and looked out it seems to look quite misty now ,no sign of that bright moon tonight .
Yes Frank it's lovely to collect the little ones from school , we look out onto the church and the little school is only the other side of the church so less than two or three minutes to walk .
Ann i'm sure some drivers don't know when they have to give way at those narrowed bits of the road ,one goes through so they all do ,they carn't be looking at the road signs and see the big red or black arrow saying who has the right of way . I meant to say the jacket potato with the cream cheese looked lovely , i think it must be the real cream cheese ,not that Philly cheese ,Waitrose do a nice cream cheese ,you use to be able to buy cream cheese by the tub at the deli counter in one of the supermarkets but i haven't seen it for a long time .
I can see you'll be catching up with your long lost cousin now then Mel ,thats lovely that your both in touch again . Did you get the flowers done in the church ?
So you have the lovely christmas cake smell all through the house then Jane ,i hope it's turned out ok ,was it the same recipe as last years cake ? I saw Paddington 2 advertised on tv the other day it looks a good film so does Murder on the Orient Express that's been advertised a lot too.
The doctor rang Colin today about his MRI scan he had on his Brain and neck ,he said it showed up a slight blockage in the side of his neck just below his right ear but as he's not getting any pain he said to leave it and see how it goes .

Evening all
Been doing some more sorting today then hoovered and polished, so I've been quite busy. I've still got more sorting to do. I can't believe how much junk I've put under my bed again....I really must stop doing that :-) :-)
I spent some time yesterday going through some photo's and putting them onto my tree and before I knew it, it was almost 4am so I packed up and went to bed, slept till 9.30 before starting on the housework and sorting. I'm starting to get a bit tired now so shall probably have an early night.
Yes, Jane if you hide relatives it's the living ones. My mum doesn't want her details on show so to respect her wishes I keep the living relatives hidden. I did leave them on show when Mel was helping me but made sure no one else had access to my tree, then once Mel had finished helping me I put them back as hidden. So the Christmas cake is cooked now, does Chris ice it himself too?
Did you enjoy your TV last night Frank, I bet it felt strange having the choice of what YOU wanted to watch ;-) ;-)
Fancy all those people pushing their way through when you had right of way Ann, some people are so cheeky aren't they? Like you said where are the police when you need them? Have you glued the glass bird yet, hope all went well if you have. Your were definitely prepared for every eventuality weren't you? Yes I'm starting to fill up OH's side of the tree now, but there is still a way to go until it's finished. The problem is some of them moved abroad so trying to find out about them isn't easy.
Lacie was having a good time with you Mandy, will she help you make the apple crumble? Sandra loves helping me when I'm baking.
Brilliant Mel being in contact with your cousin, is she helping you with your tree? How are you getting on with your crafting?

Morning all,
Bit dull and cloudy today but there is blue sky out there but no sunshine so the blue sky is in the wrong place. It needs to be out the back of the bungalow in the south and not out the front of the bungalow towards the north.
Frank did you go back to bed after you could'nt sleep and did you get a few hours in? I hope you don't feel too grotty today. Now thats a word I hav'nt used for a long while.
Usual Saturday morning, visit the shop for the paper and any other bits I may need and deliver the eggs to Em.
I may, just may be able to have a fiddle with my craft today if I leave the ironing which is piling up nicely I don't think.

Morning Frank, morning all
It sounds like you had a really bad night Frank, maybe a little nap will do you good then an early night tonight.
I'm colouring my hair today as it's the Christmas do at the garden centre in a few days and my hair looks a mess. Sandra has kindly offered to help me. She's wondering what to buy her dad for Christmas so we thought we'd visit MIL and do a bit of Christmas shopping before going to the garden centre and make a day of it.
Sorry to hear about Colin, Mandy. At least he's not in pain, hope it stays that way for him and doesn't get any worse. I'm sure the doctor will keep a close eye on him.
Nothing much else planned for today as my hair normally takes around 5 hours from start to finish.
What is everyone else up to today?

I am not going to do ironing I decided I want to fiddle and its the weekend so easy dinner tonight of steak chips toms mushrooms asparagus and onion rings for him and a few fried onions. I don't think I am going to use my new frying pan as it seems to take so long to cook anything.
