That's the problem isn't it Mel, our OH's are so slim when we marry them then they grow and grow and grow LOL so in the end it's like ironing a tent :-D :-D :-D I don't blame you for not doing the ironing today, like you said it's the weekend, so take it easy and enjoy it, there's always next week. The meal you're making for tonight sounds lovely. I haven't had steak and chips for ages.
Going to rinse the hair colouring off my hair now, then put on the conditioner, otherwise I'll never get a brush through it later.

Morning again, Mel and Gill, Evening Kim
Horrible wet morning here. It was the same down in Essex when I rang my Sister. She has now got a Chest infection. Why is it when you are down, everything seems to attack you. (GERMS)
That's a big job then Gill, FIVE HOURS. I can watch three football matches in that time. LOL.
Is it big breakfast day today Mel ?? with those lovely fresh eggs.
Ros isn't in top form today. While I was out in the lounge lat night she got out to the loo and fell against the wall and the radiator. She didn't call me, so I knew nothing about it till 7.30 this morning. She rang Martine to say she wouldn't be going out. She is now sitting on the sofa in her big dressing gown.
I'm all showered and dress, not sure if I will go to the pub, as I don't feel top notch either. I hope we aren't going down with anything.
I hope we have enough Veg in the fridge, we will just have to make do with what we have, you certainly miss things, when you have no-one able to drive.
Tonight it will have to be a delivery of the takeaway if she fancies one.
As you can imagine we have nothing planned at this end today. T.V. or book I expect.
I trust everyone is fit and well. See you later.

Morning All,
Started very rainy here but it's cleared up now and there's a little sun peeping through.:-)
Mel I find it very difficult to concentrate on craft things, well anything really with OH around!! I still haven't glued the bird as I'm waiting till he goes off to a match today so I can concentrate on what I'm doing. It's very disruptive if you have to break off to get meals and then try to get back to what you were doing. Sometimes the right mood for doing it can just go!! lol Did you manage to do some nice flowers for the church?
We seem to have a new thing around here this year........large red commemorative poppies attached to most lamp posts in the middle of some villages!
I never liked chaps referring to 'a bit of skirt' either. Women didn't seem to have equivalents that they called men as far as I can remember. Terms like 'Teddy Boys' were used by everyone.
I bet Colin was a bit surprised to get that news Mandy, but they obviously aren't too concerned so it can't need anything doing. Little Lacie is good helping lay the table and it is great the school is so close by. I will look in Waitrose next time for some of the cream cheese. This just melted in your mouth!
OH is wanting to see Paddington 2 as well! We saw the first one and both enjoyed it.
Jane the smell of Christmas cake cooking is delicious!! I prefer tasting the bowl lickings to the cooked cake though!:-0 lol.

Didn't see you there Frank! Poor Ros. that must have shaken her up a bit I expect. I think a day of rest is called for for you both. I always say we could live for a month off our freezer so I'm sure you won't starve. Your sister must be fed up with all these illnesses. I think when our immunity gets a bit low we do get all sorts of infections. I hope she feels a bit better soon.
I felt a bit fed up yesterday seeing my beading pals go off to the NEC without me. I just couldn't stand and walk around all that time though and there aren't many places to sit.
We were driving somewhere and through a village we hadn't driven through before yesterday and the low sun was getting in our eyes. All of a sudden I shouted 'hump' and OH had to brake quite hard as we bounced over one of those pyramid type humps in the road! It was the same colour as the road and the white triangle they paint at the front of them had completely worn off it so you couldn't see it very well anyway. The road markings are disappearing fast around here and the other day we had trouble at a right turn at crossroads. There were lanes to turn right, but the top of the right turn arrows had worn off both ways as well as the front edge where you should stop.

Afternoon All
What a lot of rain we must have had in the night. I followed a van this morning andhe went through a lot of water at the side of the road and it almost went over his roof!!!. Dy now but still looking a bit iffy. Wicksteed Park have their big Firwork night tonight. So we could get a lot of noise. Poor Thomas was hiding under the settee last night after hearing a few bangs. There were a fair way off too,so I hope he isn't going t obe too freaked out tonight. I will just have to try and make sure I can get him in before anything starts.
Is Ros ok now Frank?.I wonder what made her have that wobble in the night. Is she eating enough (on her diet?)Maybe her blood sugars are a bit off.
Love your spellings at 2 am LOL.
5 hours is a long time for you get your hair done Gill !!! Nice to have help from Sandra..She will be your personal hairdresser :-D. It does make a difference though when you know your hair is looking good again.
Mandy is it the Carotid Artery in OHs neck that has a slight blockage? I expect they will keep a regular eye on it. At least for now nothing needs doing.
No ironing for me today :-D. So you are'nt going to tackle your big pile then Mel :-D
The Plumber came this morning and has fitted an Expansion Capsule in the airing cupboard . A last attempt at trying to sort this overflow problem. It looks a bit like a small 'Henry' hoover LOL . The trouble is with all the various pumps, pipework ,the big cylinder and now this thing it means I only have one shelf left .
I went into town this morning and bought a pair of ankle boots and pair of shoes . Not sure about the shoes though as they look a bit dressier that I really wanted so I have a feeling that they may have to go back. I just want something with a little wedge or heel as it helps with the pain in my back when I walk.I think I need to ditch my flats really, but I do like them.
The sky is looking very strange and quite an eery light. In one way I hopw it is a dry night for all the families and children enjoying the fireworks but on the other hand I would be quite pleased if ir tips down :-). Old grouch LOL I was talking to a lady in Asda earlier and she said her little dog wet herself last night because of all the fireworks from the Corby Firework do.
Ann. I will PM you a bit later today :-D

Well you have 1 more airing cupboard shelf than I have Jane. I must admit that, although having no tank gives you more room, I do miss the airing cupboard at times. I hope everything is fixed with your heating probs now. I expect a lot of pet owners are not looking forward to tonight. I always feel sorry for the wildlife too. It isn't as if it is just tonight either, they were going off all around last night.
I've replied to your PM and am going to fill my car up now and pop in the co-op.
I'm doing liver and onions for tonight with cubed potatoes, swede and carrot all in one pan. It's an old favourite and is the only way I like liver. :-)

Well, that's my hair done for another six weeks or so, did you enjoy your three matches Frank LOL :-D :-D :-D How is Ros now after her fall, maybe her blood sugar is down like Jane said with her being on a diet. Hope she is alright and hasn't hurt herself to much.
You've just reminded me Jane I need a new pair of boots, I've been wearing flat shoes all summer and forgot that my old boots had to be thrown away last winter, I'd have very cold feet if the weather is to wet or it snows. I miss my airing cupboard, that's the problem with this bungalow there is no storage, cupboard wise and the old airing cupboard was in the kitchen of all places so when we had our first new boiler put in, the cupboard was taken out once the tank was removed. It gave us some extra space in the kitchen though so not all bad. Hope the Expansion Capsule works for you. Have you heard of these plug in things you can get to keep pets calm, sorry I can't remember what they're called. You plug them in a few days before and it calms them down so the fireworks don't bother them as much. It might be something to think about for next year. Maybe you could just talk to him and give him a cuddle so he doesn't get to scared. Our neighbours dog was barking last night when a load of fireworks went off. OH thinks there was a display on somewhere as it was very loud and went on for quite a while.
What a shame you couldn't go to the NEC Ann, you'd think they'd have seating for people to sit down and have a rest, from what I've heard it's a big place so lots of walking around, so you'd need a break every now and then.
I'm gong to catch up with Eastenders now as I missed it last night, then sort out dinner. I feel like I've been on the go all day, so it'll be nice to have a sit down for half an hour.

Our airing cupboard is in the kitchen and taken up with the boiler and the water tank so I hav'nt got one either thats why I iron everything. When the rads are on I have some rails that I can put the ironing on and that works quite well but I have only had the heating today for the first time at any length of time. Sometimes oh turns it on by mistake for the hot water but today he said he had cold feet so I gladly turned it on.
Poor Ros but I expect its what the others siad, low blood sugar. You'll have to get her to eat some fruit.

I bet your hair looks and feels good now Gill :-D. Who cuts your hair? I was just thinking you never mention having it cut. What about yours Mel? Did you ever get a trim? You did say something a while ago about thinking of having a little bit cut but OH didn't want you to.
My Mum used the airing cupboard all the time for airing clothes. In the 'BIG' house where I was a Nanny,my cat Rudi used to sleep in the airing cupboard . Not in the owners but the one I had in the Nursery Wing of the house. Sounds posh doesn't it. It was LOL.
Gill.Clarks ladies boots are 20% off at the moment. I never ever have cold feet or hands. I hate wearing gloves.
Fireworks are beginning to go off now. Thomas is not coming in to whistles and calling :-S.I hope is isn't cowering somewhere and too scared to leg it home.
Thanks Ann for your reply :-)

He might stay put somewhere until all is quiet out there.Isn't it typical he has been in at 5.30 every night for days now just not tonight :-S
Strictly starting now :-) and then Casualty. That's my 2 programmes for tonight.

Is Thomas back now Jane, it must be a bit of a worry if there's a lot of fireworks going off. If he's not back yet I'm sure he's okay and just hiding somewhere till it's quiet, then he'll be home for his cuddles. Thanks for letting me know about Clarks I'll take a look when I go Christmas shopping next week.
I don't have my hair cut as it costs a fortune to just have a few inches cut off the ends. My hair is all one length, not layered. I must admit I do like the colour, it's a medium brown, the only problem with this hair colour is it goes a light red if I'm in the sun a lot, but thankfully I don't have that problem in the winter. It's all done now in time for our night out next week and of course my birthday, it'll probably need doing again for Christmas and new year though.
We've had loads of fireworks around here Mel, but more noise than actually seeing them so there must be a few displays somewhere close to us. I'm expecting more that we can see tomorrow night. We normally go out to see them but OH has got a cold and doesn't want it to get worse as Sandra and I are really looking forward to going to the Christmas night out at the garden centre and if OH is ill he won't be able to take us, we're also hoping to go Christmas shopping that day and visit MIL as we haven't seen her for over a week.
I'm finally getting somewhere with OH's tree as the woman who gave me access to her tree has let me see everyone. It was a bit difficult to work her tree out when she had so many people hidden, so now I'm on a roll which has pleased OH.
Going to bed now as I've had a busy day and I'm shattered, see you all tomorrow Night Night

Hi all
It looks like I'm the first one on here today, where is everyone?
We've had hail since last night, you can definitely tell winter is here. It's cold too.
Sandra wants us to watch another Christmas film later so we're having our lunch early. She's just told me she's fed up of chicken so we'll be having roast lamb next week. I wish she'd told me earlier then we could of had the lamb this week. I think I might make a chicken soup for myself as there is going to be quite a bit left over as she only wants a small amount. At least it won't go to waste that way and it'll be something warm for me to eat. You never know she might fancy some chicken if it's made a different way.
Going to take another look at OH's tree today, there are so many people to add but I check everyone before putting them onto the tree so it'll take quite a lot of time to get through them all. OH is pleased with it all as he never really knew his granddad's side of the family, his mum is pleased to as it's her side of the tree.

Hi All,
I had another email from my cousin in Ohio and had to answer it.
Its really quite windy here today but we have sunshine and blue grey and white skies.
We had a little hail last night too and it must have gotten quite windy as oh had a ladder leaning up against the gutter and it had blown down and been moved. He also found a present on the seat by the pond so his brother must have come in the very early hours and left it and moved the ladder but we did;nt hear a thing.
I am just about to get the BIG BREAKFAST on the go as I am hungry and I expect oh is too.

Afternoon All
Thomas didn't come in. I sat up until 11 and then had to go to bed. I woke up at 3 and thought I would come down and go and see if he was in the Summerhouse. He was there as snug as a bug .Little rotter. I didn't even need a torch to go out to the garden as the moon was so bright. It was quite weird really .
Mel how exciting to hear from a cousin in Ohio.Is she a first cousin or a bit further removed? I bet you have had your big breakfast now. What will you have for tea?
Mel is it OHs birthday?I wonder what time his Brother left the present.
Fireworks were stll going around and about at midnight!.. I think there should be a cut off time really.
My new boots are really comfortable.I had to go out for Bread and loo rolls so wore them to Tesco. No rubbing on my heels which is great.(so far). So much for getting just 2 things. I ended up with a big bag full, and I also got some food for the Food Bank Collection . I haven't put anything in there for a while now and was feeling quite guilty. I think what spurred me on today was watching TV this morning about Homeless people and those who need to use Food Banks. It really brings it home when I look in my cupboards and see what I have compared to those who have nothing. It is shocking in this day and age in this country that people have to rely on Foodbanks to survive
Gill ,making Chicken Soup is a good idea.As you say it wont go to waste and Sandra might well really enjoy it. :-(
I think I might light the fire as the sun seems to be vanishing now and I think it is going to be pretty nippy.

Afternoon all,
Nice and sunny here with blue sky but it's quite nippy so the fire is lit ,we have the family coming later ,son has got some sparklers for the little ones and we bought just a small box of fire works and a couple of packets of rockets ,we don't normally buy fireworks but it's nice to treat them , we're having hot dogs and popcorn and maybe hot chocolates to warm us up.
Yes Jane it is the Carotid Artery in Colins neck that has a slight blockage ,the doctor wasn't that concerned he said he'll keep an eye on it . I bet Thomas was snuggled down in the summer house while the fireworks were going off ,he knows where to get out the way , i thought how bright the moon was last night ,it must have been a full moon i should think .
Mel it's your OH's birthday tomorrow isn't it ? same day as our son's ,he will be forty this year .

Afternoon to you all.
I am very late on parade today. I sat with Ros until 12.30 and we went to bed together (THAT'S A FIRST) LOL. I laid awake beside her until 4.20 am then I dropped off, but was awake again soon after when she wanted the loo. So I have been on duty all night. In fact We didn't get up before 10.00 am She is feeling a lot better this morning, and is sitting in the sunshine in the conservatory doing needlework.
She eats lots of fruit. Her breakfast this morning were shreddies , with Raspberry's and Strawberry's. She often eats a pear or orange during the day, The nurse says her sugar levels are good.
Ros mentioned about the pain in her leg and foot on her left leg. The nurse said YOU HAVE POLICEMAN'S FOOT. What ever that means, and she must start wearing shoes with a little heal. !!
Those blooming fireworks, they started around 6.00 pm and went on over the village till about 8.30 pm FINE. Then some inconsiderate Bas@@rd started letting more off at 10.30 until well after 11.00. How dreadful for parents with children and those poor pets that must have thought it was all over at 8.30 !!!
We have a beautiful day here, wall to wall sunshine and fluffy clouds.
I see in the paper today that a chap is making a detailed map of his village OF ALL THE POT HOLES, and the worn junction White lines, also the Yellow lines. That will keep him busy. Mind you if everyone complained, I wonder if anything would happen. I DOUBT IT SOMEHOW. I said to Ros last night, I dread to think what it would cost to resurface all the damaged roads in this COUNTRY Hundreds of Millions I recon.
I am doing roast leg of Lamb for tonight, with sweet potato for Ros ordinary spuds for me with Roast Parsnips (none for madam) plenty of veg, so she should be fine. No pudding or cheese sauce., so I am trying to help her. xxx
Haven't read the posts, but I assume you are all Bright and well, enjoy this sunshine while it lasts xxx.

OH has just come in and said they are having a bonfire and fireworks in the next village and the weather has gone dry now so we're going to take Sandra. It starts in an hour so we're just getting ready to go out. I've tried ringing my mum to see if she wants to come with us but she's on the phone so I can't get through. I think she's talking to my sister as she normally keeps mum talking for hours. I've left a message and asked her to ring me if she wants to come with us but so far she hasn't rang me back. I've rang her 4 times, so I'll try once more and if she's still on the phone it might be easier to just go round and ask her. Sandra is really excited and can't wait, they have burgers and hot dogs so we'll buy some while we're out. I've had to record Strictly and The X factor as Sandra watches those, so all the boxes are ticked for a good night out and some nice TV for Sandra when we get home.
I haven't read all the posts but I did noticed that Thomas came home Jane so that's good news. Maybe you should keep him in tonight to save the worry.
Well, I'd better go See you all tomorrow <3

Frank, Policemans Foot might mean flat footed. That is how I am ,but now I have bit more hight in the heel of my boots I find I walk quite differently . Plodding along ,Policeman Plod :-D .Does Ros tend to wear flats then all the time like me?I know they are comfy but obviously they do no good long term. I'm glad she is feeling better today. Bet there will be more fireworks tonight with it being the 5th.it is a clear night for more BANGS :-S
Mandy the children will love their Sparklers and Rockets. I think Sparklers are great. That is my kind of firework :-D :-D. Have you got Marsh mallows to go on the hot chocolate? ..
I expect Thomas will be out late again tonight with that moon. If he isn't in when I am ready for bed I will take his fleecy blanket out to the Summerhouse and put it on the settee. I did that last night.Chris says I am bonkers :-S
Frank, I sometimes think it would be cheaper for the county and country if the roads were completely re surfaced as all the little jobs they do filling each pothole seems ridiculous to me as they soon become potholes again !!!!!. When we go abroad to France or Italy (especially France) the difference in the road surfaces is so great. You don't get potholes !!!!.Our roads have just been neglected for far too long now.
James has just got home and is cream crackered so has gone for a lie down to have a read.I bet he nods off :-D
All the clouds are pink with a lovely blue background. They look very pretty but it is blooming cold outside now. Fire roaring away it looks lovely :-D
Beef Stroganoff for us tonight. I have just cooked it so it just needs heating through.
Have we heard from Anne lately? I think the last post I saw was about Ruby putting the brakes on and not wanting to go any further.
