Evening All,

Poor Ros Frank, it's horrid feeling like that and her keep falling over. Hopefully it is an ear infection that can be quickly cleared up with antibiotics.

<3HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BIRTHDAY BOYS! <3 I remember hating becoming 40 and having to tick that 'over 40' box on forms! What did they have for their birthdays Mel and Mandy? :-D

That's very dainty Mel! Reminds me of making our pump bags at school with blanket stitch around the edge. Good news on your mammogram result!

Sandra had a good time didn't she and a chicken burger after! They were silly chucking petrol about on the bonfire though.

The Blue Planet was great wasn't it? Every week is filled with new surprises!

Your poor niece Jane, I can imagine how worried she must be. I remember how panicky I felt when they found something on my last mammogram. They do say most lumps are harmless though. At least she has found it and is getting it checked out and will have Janice with her.

I managed to go through half a wardrobe yesterday and have a bagful for the charity shop and the bin is full of some real tatty stuff! The trouble is it hasn't really made room for my surplus things waiting to be hung up, just room for what's left to breathe a little! :-S lol.

We went to see Murder on the Orient Express this morning which OH enjoyed but I was a bit disappointed. I couldn't get used to the moustache looking different shades at times and preferred the Hercule Poirot you see on the telly whose name escapes me just now. We were both a bit shaken up at the start with the horrendous noise and vibration from the Vue advertising. It is so loud it feels like it is inside your chest and affecting your heart. How they can call that entertainment I don't know......it should have a health warning. Even OH says he is getting earplugs for when we next go. Neither of us could look at the spinning light effects either.

The fireworks around here were over earlier than previous nights which surprised us. It sounds like Thomas has a comfy 2nd home in the summerhouse Jane!

Annx Report 6 Nov 2017 22:21

That's him Mel David Suchet......thank you! It would have been going round my head in bed tonight.

It's funny how numbers work out sometimes isn't it! MIL pointed out to us in the year 2000 that OH was 47 and I was born in 1947 and that I was 53 and OH was born in 1953. As with your nan, I wonder what the odds are for these things happening? Your nan reached a good age for someone born in 1895. My gran born in 1877 was 84 when she died in 1961. One of my uncles was born in 1899, only 4 years younger than your nan.

I've just spent the last half an hour trying to get on here, I kept getting the error page.

Sorry to hear about your niece Jane. It must be a worrying time for her, hope the results are clear. Good idea to wear the marigolds if your finger tips are still sore. I was surprised when we were told that the cooker would be cleaned in the insurance cover, I've never come across that before, it might worth a look like you said and it would save you a job next time and of course your poor fingers.

Pleased to hear you had the all clear Mel, I remember when I got the all clear after finding a lump. The first words out of the doctors mouth was "It's not Cancer" I just burst into tears with relief. She went on to tell me it was cysts but I remember how scared I felt. To be fair they gave me the appointment and results within two weeks so that was good. I love the little bag you've made.

So you've been doing some sorting too Ann, I had a good clear out the other day, but still have a bit more to do.

I've just had to change a husband for one of OH's relatives, I'd copied the second one on the list by mistake. I wouldn't mind but there were only two possibilities......silly me. Good job I spotted it.

Morning all,

Dull dark dreary and very wet here this morning and its Donkey Day........need I say more?

Ann when we lived in Suffolk our neighbours mums birthday was the same as my sons and her son was the same day as mine. Her son was my sons friend and his middle name ws Valentine.

I have had the devil of a job getting on here right over the weekend and yesterday was even worse. I get the Error page and then click on Customer Support and its taking ages and ages to just put me back to the Customer Support so I get fed up inthe end. If GR carry on like this I think they may lose a lot of Customers to give Support to.

Iv'e got the heating on today and in a mo I am going to turn the light on as I can hardly see.

Watched my Oulander last night and this new series really leaves you in suspense as the end of each episode making you wait a week till the next one. Once I had to wait two weeks for the next one and it was murder.

Morning Mel, Morning all

I've had the same problem as you Mel with the error page. I had a right job trying to post last night it took me ages to finally get to the last page. It's been a bit slow again this morning but thankfully, so far, no error page. You're right though this has been going on for ages now, people are going to leave Genes if they're not careful. They really should sort the problem out once and for all. I've even had problems access my tree a few times which is annoying when I'm working on it.

It's pouring with rain here today, but we did have a lovely sunrise this morning, everywhere was a golden colour so I grabbed my camera and took a photo, unfortunately by the time I got my camera it started to rain, I had to take it quickly so it's a bit blurred, you can see the golden colour though even if the plants look fuzzy.

Frank Report 7 Nov 2017 11:57

Good morning my little Lass's, Evening Kim,

A very wet start to the day, but now it's just damp and miserable.

Was at the nurse at 11.00 am for my blood test. She was surprised how quickly the files filled up. I said that's because i'm a little bleeder. She did have a chuckle. Ros has an ear infection s you all said. Tablets have been prescribed and she feels a little better this morning after three doses. The pain in the foot is to do with the damaged nerves in her back and legs. So not a lot can be done.

Her Weight Watchers meal wasn't up to much last night so I did her a Jacket and she did some coleslaw to go with it. She lost another TWO POUNDS last week, Martine only lost HALF POUND. so wasn't very pleased. I couldn't be bothered with anything to eat last night and only had a bit of cheese and biscuits later on. Not the best idea, I had nightmares during the night. (SPIDERS CRAWLING ALL OVER ME) ;-) ;-) ;-) :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0

Jane I forgot to mention, Ros only wears flat shoes, so she must go and but some shoes with a small heal, to see if that helps with her foot.

Gill, Sorry to hear about your OH friend's partner. Have you had any news yet this morning ?? Hope she made it through the night, and is a bit better today.

Ros has to go to hospital this afternoon about this bladder problem. She has been advised by both the nurse and doctor to have the operation rather than go through all this with the ring, so that's what she will tell them today. !!!

I had an eMail from you Mel, but it came up as "JUNK" so I just deleted it without reading it.

I trust everything and everybody are fine, see you later no doubt.

OH's friends partner is still unconscious they don't think she'll come round. We don't know what caused it as his friend has been at the hospital day and night for two nights and wasn't making much sense. Because OH didn't know his friends partner's birthday or her surname the hospital wouldn't tell him where she was so he couldn't visit last night. He did call in the out of hours about his chest but they said it wasn't an infection just a virus, I don't think a virus can be passed on as OH has now gone back to the hospital to see his friend. OH rang him last night to get his partners details and also to find out what ward she was on so he could go and visit today. He's still at the hospital so I don't have anymore updates until he comes home later.
I thought Ros had an ear infection as I was the same and kept falling over, when I had one. The antibiotics sound as if they are doing the trick so she should be back to normal soon. Hope all goes well for her operation when she has it.
That sounded like a horrible dream Frank, I also had cheese before bed last night but didn't have any nasty dreams, which surprised me as I normally do, but I love cheese so much I couldn't stop eating it. Sandra calls me a little mouse as I like it so much.

I've just had to clean up outside the back door as it looks as if a bird has been in our gutters chucking out the moss, it was everywhere and I thought OH might tread it into the bungalow if he came back after dark, so that's all cleaned up now. I also had to clean up some bits of weeds that another bird had pecked out from between the flag stones, although I didn't mind that as I couldn't quite get it out myself when I tried the other day, so that's saved me a job ;-) ;-)

Rosie spotted me outside so came to me for some nuts, she is a funny little girl almost human like, she's so tame....bless her.

Our garden is still water logged in one corner with all the rain we've had Mel and since we sorted out the greenhouse the other day some of the rain is coming in on one corner so I've used some old plastic containers that the screws were in to pop under the legs of the wooden table we've got in there so the legs don't get wet and rot. I was given a banana plant the other week and it's growing quite well in the greenhouse, along with the bluebell climber mum gave me and some plants I made from cutting in the summer, they've all got new shoots on them and are loving it in the greenhouse out of the cold weather. I do have to water them all every so often but I don't mind so long as they don't die.

Going back to OH's tree now, I'm doing really well for him at the moment, apart from one death I can't seem to find. He should be quite pleased with what I've found when he gets home later.

Afternoon Everyone,

Brrr it's got colder as the day has gone on and the heating is on now. I sat in bed with a cuppa and my sock drawer early this morning! I wanted to see the end of a programme and do something useful, so I sorted out my socks. All the odd ones, old ones, ones with holes and ones with tight tops are in the bin. I use cardboard boxes in the drawer to separate out different sorts so it is in apple pie order now. I had an idea while I was doing it how to keep pairs of the same colour together in the wash that is easy. I'm going to safety pin the toes together as I put them in the laundry bin! They will stay together in the wash and can be pegged out with just the top of one and the other will hang below it on the pin. They will take up less room on the line and can just be unpinned when they are put together to go in the drawer. :-)

That's good Ros is starting to feel better Frank and well done to her losing another 2 pounds. It will all help spur her on. :-) It's a pity nothing can be done for her foot though. If it's her heel that hurts I can recommend those gel heel inserts for shoes that fit under your heels. I got some after I jarred my heel stepping down off a step stool and they made walking much more comfortable. It sounds like the operation might be best in the long run. What a horrid dream you had.

I hope your OH's friend's girlfriend is ok Gill. His friend must be exhausted and really need some sleep, but I expect he is reluctant to leave her side as we would be in his shoes.

Mel what a lot of coincidences! You are making me wish I'd persisted a bit longer with Outlander.....it sounds good!

Today's eating out was a bit of a disaster! They do lunchtime deals, 2 main courses for £12 and it is The Dovecote and is a nice place and is where I did the last fused glass workshop. First we couldn't get in through the front or back and had to wait till they let us in although they should have been open at 12.00pm. Then they brought our decaff tea in cups instead of a teapot that holds 4 cups and said it was because of it being decaff???? They are always slow taking your order, but after we both ordered Plaice, ages after they came to say there was only one left! OH decided to have fishcakes instead and when it came we did a bit of swapping as my meal looked bigger than his! We waited ages after our main course, but no-one came to ask about desserts so OH had to go and find someone to get menus. We ordered those and asked for more tea as we usually get a pot. They brought us a pot, but it was empty by the time we'd poured 1 and a half cups! OH went and found someone again and showed her and we eventually got the pot topped up with more water! Then when we went to pay the bill, they tried to charge us double for the teas. I think we are going to give it a miss there for a while!

Have to get unpacked now so I shall be back later to read the last post as its just started to get dark and I need to feed the hogs.

Ros has just walked in. It's pouring with rain and it has taken her an age to get home, over an hour. Traffic backed up everywhere. She has just gone to change as the legs on her trousers are soaking wet.

I have done a chicken casserole for tonight, it's smelling scrumptious. I will mash the spuds without milk and butter, give Ros hers then add the butter and milk for mine.I have loaded it with root vegetables, so there's nothing in there that she can't eat. That will be ready in the next hour.

I've had a read this afternoon and a bit of NAT GEO. and the cooking channel with Rick Stein, and his sea food dishes. Which I love and know that some of you don't. I won't mention any names. LOL

I think it's the awards tonight, so madam will be pleased. I will either grim and bear it, or read my book.

Hope your OH friends partner is still holding on Gill.

Mel, If the weather down there is anything like ours, I bet you are pleased to be home in the dry.

Ann, It appears to me that this place you go needs to get it's finger out. Bad enough to get terrible service, but even worse being charges twice for your TEA. It's a wonder you noticed that, as I often just hand over my card, and that's it. Good idea about washing your socks, I will mention that to Ros. Even though I don't wear socks everyday, when i'm not going out.

Have a nice evening All. xxx

Evening all,

It's been dry today but there's been so sign of the sun ,it did try to drizzle just after lunch but didn't amount to any thing .

What a worry for Oh's friend Gill he must be worn out poor man but i can quite understand why he doesn't want to leave her side .

Ann thats a good idea pinning the socks together , although i would worry the safety pins might open up in the washer .
Fancy trying to charge twice for your cuppas ,you have to watch them don't you .
We gave son money for his birthday and some clothes ,he did say jokingly oh well all down hill now i'm forty :-D

Ros is doing really well with her diet Frank ,i'm glad she's feeling better with the antibiotics now working, it's not nice feeling dizzy ,i was going to say would the gel heel inserts help her foot but i see Ann beaten me to it .
I bet she was glad to get those wet trousers off ,nothing worse than cold and wet legs .

Mel the little bag is pretty ,it's some thing the girls might like having a go at making ,they could make some christmassy ones to hang on their tree .

Hope you feel better soon Jane <3

Frank,Glad Ros is feeling better now and that with her meds her inner ear infection will soon clear up.

Ann I couldn't be doing with safety pins on ALL ours socks here LOL But it does sound a good idea. I just leave it now for Chris and James to fight over them and decide whose is who's :-D. I know mine :-D :-D

Mandy I was quite happy to be 40 and even 50 .It was the 60 that got me. Just something about that number that says you are getting old now :-S Your son will enjoy his 40s :-D

Frank I enjoy seeing Rick Stein but not the food LOL

Gill it must be a deadful time for OH's friend at the moment with his partner being in a coma . It was so good of your OH to go and suport his friend .He got there eventually .

Mel you have done a good bit of shopping today and a start for Christmas :-D

OH's back now, he did a bit of running around for his friend and took him to sort out his meds as he was running out, he also took him home so he could get a shower then back to the hospital. His girlfriends son couldn't get a flight until tomorrow morning and has to go back home to Germany on Saturday for work as they won't give him the time off for some reason. I think that is very cruel as his mum isn't expected to live much longer, we're talking days. OH said some of her relatives were there. He just wanted to say his goodbyes and won't be visiting again as he doesn't want to be in the way with there being so little time left and her family being there. He has said to his friend to ring him if he needs/wants anything day or night, which he said he would. The poor man is sleeping on a two seater sofa at the hospital and he's in his 80's and not well himself. OH said he looks awful with all the worry and not much sleep, but he won't go home at night and wants to stay with her to the end.

Apparently she had a heart attack and the paramedics had to bring her back as she had died, she's also had a stroke. It's such a sad time for everyone.

Annx Report 7 Nov 2017 20:47

Yes, I did wonder about the safety pins coming open in the wash Mandy, but thought I'd see what happens! :-) Jane, it is just our plain black socks that get mixed up and I shall pin just my own so OH doesn't get them paired up with his, he can mix his own pairs up as much as he likes! lol. The most it could be in a week is 7 pairs as I have lots with coloured toes now. :-)

I hope you feel a bit better now Jane. You didn't sound good at all in your last post. <3 If you think 60 bothered you, wait till you are 70! :-S That sounds really ancient!! lol.

What a sad situation for your OH's friend Gill. It's good your OH was able to give him some help though. That was a good idea to put the pot on the table leg in the greenhouse. :-)

Mel, you have been busy getting ahead for Christmas and buying decs and pressies. All I have bought is a couple of books for OH and some battery lights that switch themselves on and off for the door wreath.

OH is calling now so off to bed to watch something recorded next.
