So all your lost things are now found Mel :-D :-D. I am glad you found the stone from your ring.
Frank we thought we were going to have rain but it never arrived. I have all my towels out still on the line but they can stay there now until tomorrow. Not that they will dry.

I meant to say .I was chatting to my Sister last night and she was just about to have a bath with William .She had me on Loud Speaker and William said " Aunty Jane Grandma and me are going to play Whales and Fish" Janice said yes and guess who is going to be the blooming Whale LOLOL. William is such a lovely little boy and is a real character .Bright as a button too.

Chris is up and now feeling cold. It is not cold in here. The fire is blazing and the heating on too.It does look though as it is going to be a really cold night tonight .Down to minus 1 or so.

These exercises I am doing seem to be easing my back but making my hip really painful :-S I will persevere :-DThe Physio suggested I did Aqua Aerobics or even Pilates !!!. I did say there was no chance of me getting in a swimming pool .I havent worn a cozzie in years and won't ever again. So that is out :-D. Im not even sure what Pilates entails but somehow cant see me doing that either. I will just get my little fold up exercise bike out again :-D :-D

Evening all,

It's been a dreary old day here ,it started to drizzle this afternoon and i really thought we were in for heavy rain as the sky looked so dark ,it's been so mild but it should turn colder over night .

Ann you'll need an early night tonight having to be about early this morning and not having a good nights sleep , i hope the new bed is nice comfortable and you mange to get a better sleep tonight .

So the scissors have finally surfaced then Mel and the ring too so that's good ,does the ring still fit ?

Colin had his hearing aid fitting this morning ,i went in with him and was amazed how they are fitted ,it's all done on the computer ,so now he's all wired for sound LOL ,there's no sound button on them to turn then up or down ,they are just tuned into each other and work together .

I mean't to say i had a reply from Anne on the email i sent with the photo of Max ,she just said what a lovely boy he was so i don't know why she hasn't been on the thread ,perhaps her subs run out .

So your recording Ros's soaps tonight Frank ,don't forget there's two lots of Eastenders i suppose it's because Children in need is on tomorrow so they have to get both in tonight .

Well done finding your scissors and the ring!!! Were they somewhere you didn't expect to find them? It will be nice to be able to wear the ring again when you find a good jewellers. It's given me a bit of hope that I still might find that stick! lol.

I had an ancient bucket type hoover when we moved here that I used to hoover the garage out with. When there was a high fence between us and our neighbour at the front I even took it outside to hoover the leaves up off the driveway once. Goodness knows what the neighbours made of it, but if they thought I was houseproud they were very wrong!

We have 3, 3 foot long narrow box things that are mirrors on the front and each has two holes at the top of the back and they hang about 3 inches apart to make a mirror in the porch. It was a nightmare when we first had them to measure up to get them to hang properly with even gaps between them. I had asked OH to take them down out of harm's way today and when the men went he started to put them back up. Had he taken note of which went where.......no. So there we were struggling to hook them onto the screws, only to have to start again and swap them around because they hung at all angles. They are right again now thank goodness.

Frank we are very lucky as there is a huge new Royal Mail depot a couple of miles away, near where I used to go to beading class. This Amazon parcel had come by courier and been dropped at a newsagents close by as we weren't in. You go online and ask to be emailed where and when you can pick it up. It's a bit better than the Royal Mail as you can pick it up the same day. :-)

That poor chap collapsing in the shop Jane. I hope he's ok.

Morning all

Very cold here today, so we're staying in and keeping warm. OH is finally starting to feel the benefits of the meds and is sleeping much better although he's still having a bit of sleep during the day which seems to be doing him some good.

Did you enjoy your three hours of TV last night Frank while Ros was out? OH and I caught up with our programmes off the planner yesterday while Sandra was reading her book. MIL gave her a few books so she's enjoying them at the moment. It was nice for OH and I to watch something we like for a change. It'll be children in need all night tonight as Sandra has been looking forward to watching that.

Brilliant Mel, that you've found all your lost things including your silver ring. Let's hope you can find a good jewellers to put the stone back in now. Did the hay rack work? Pleased to hear your toe is feeling much better now.

What did the papers say about the young girl in the car Ann. I haven't seen the news for ages so I'm out of the loop. I agree with you, people shouldn't drive under the influence of drugs or booze. Unfortunately they do and innocent people are caught up in accidents caused by these silly people.

How is Colin getting on with his hearing aid Mandy, the way they are tuned into each other sounds just the job.

How is Chris today Jane, hope he's feeling better? I'm like you and not keen on swimming either, I hope the exercise bike works and your aches and pains go soon.

Morning Gill and all,

White frosty morning here but the suns out and its melting fast. We have beautiful blue sky but I think it may cloud over later this afternoon so the weather man said last night.

How is Colin getting on with his hearing aids Mandy. Does he hear everything you say now. I tried the silver ring this morning but I am frightened to force it on my finger as my knuckles seem to be bigger now than they were 19 years ago. I don't want it to get stuck so I can't take it into a jewellers.

Must feed the wild birds as they keep looking at me through the window sitting on empty feeders.

Gillx

Gillx Report 17 Nov 2017 10:49

Have you thought of having your ring re-sized when you have the stone put back Mel, it would be a shame if you couldn't wear it again for fear of it getting stuck, plus it might be painful to wear if it's slightly to small.

Seems like a lot of good and bad news around. !!!

Good morning Gill and Mel, and of course all my other ladies, Evening Kim,

Jane, That chap sounds a bit like me when I had my Stroke. I felt as though I was sliding under the trolley. and just couldn't stand up. I called to Ros and she rammed her trolley into me and held me against a big display of COKE. From there on it was I suppose standard procedure when someone collapse's in a store. I do hope he received the right treatment , and not left on the hospital trolley all day like me. !!

Good on you Mel, Things do tend to turn up when least expected. A jeweller will be able to put a bit in the ring, so it will fit you again. That's a long while to have mislaid your ring. !!

HALLO COLIN, Sorry I forgot you can hear everything now. I hope you get on well with them. Do you like Ros have to change your batteries every so often. She gets her replacement batteries from the hospital, where do you get yours if you need them. ??

Gill, Pleased that OH is improving because of the medication. It does pay to do as the Doctor tells you. Have you finished your Mums garden now ??

Ann, I didn't know that Amerzon delivered to a local shop if you were out. What a good idea. IF and it's rare, that we are both out, any parcel deliveries are dropped off at the neighbours. which is a great help.

I had a "dicky tummy " yesterday. Last night I went in the toilet and sat down. Not realising, I put my arm on the heated Towel rail. My GAUD it didn't haft burn my arm at the back, I sat all evening with nice cold flannel wrapped round my arm. No sign of the burn this morning, thank goodness.

I have been to the nurse for a blood test, and onto Tesco to get Ros's Christmas Card. Since I started posting.

Very heavy frost here this morning, but now very warm, behind the glass in the car, and we had to have the visors down to stop the glare.

See you all later, I trust you are all well.

Afternoon All,

Chilly but sunny here now. The mattress was great for my back and much easier to turn over on but I woke with my knees achey a few times when I turned on my side. I suppose a few more nights will sort it out though as the position must be different and need to be got used to.

Went to my friends to do some beading this morning. They were making christmas decs this morning, a snowflake and a Christmas stocking.

OH is at a meeting in Birmingham today and will then be driving home in the peak time mayhem on the M6, so I am going to pop in Sainsbury's for few bits, fill my car up and then have one of their salmon lunches in the restaurant. :-)

Frank

Frank Report 17 Nov 2017 14:36

I'm sitting here eating a salmon sarnie, Ros is doing herself a salmon salad.

We have lamb steaks tonight with loads of Veg, so Madam will be well taken care of.

She had her BOOTS turn up this morning. Black fur lined with a lace up front. She tried them on and they fit perfectly. I said I am not going to wrap those up. It will take too much paper, and anyway you know what you have !! Sh called me a tight so and so.

I have just ordered her a new steering wheel cover in grey fluffy material. You should see some of them. 2 inch thick fur in BRIGHT YELLOW and gear knob cover in the same material to match. Some people will know doubt buy them LOL LOL.

Pleasant sunny afternoon. I am thinking of checking the lawn to see if it has dried enough to cut, but with the threat of frost again, it might not be a good idea. Have just checked and it's soaking wet. So that's put paid to that.

My internet went down for a couple of hours, but all seems well now.

Glad you found your mattress comfortable Ann, you will soon get the hang of things I am sure. We find we can turn over without disturbing one or other, and without waking up doing it.

I'm reading a book from Tony, which I am finding easy reading, a good story, so I am well pleased.

The sun is still warm, what a beautiful afternoon.

Gillx

Gillx Report 17 Nov 2017 15:15

Yes Frank we've finished mum's garden off for the winter now, but will do a bit more in the spring. She wants some more artificial grass putting down to lengthen the bit she already has. Over the last few months we've been cutting some large pampas grass down and putting it into her wheelie bin, so we've had to go back each time the bin's been emptied to fill it up again. That's all finished now and looks much better with all the rubbish gone.

I'm sure you'll get used to your new mattress soon Ann and have no more achy knees. Sandra was saying she remembers the Christmas bauble you made her a few years ago. It was really good. Are you going to be making more of those?
I'd love to see some pics of the snowflake and stocking if you've taken some.

Afternoon All
Cor blimey it is cold outside now. I have just got in from the Doctors. He has put me on the list again to get this cyst on my finger drained. After the last time I had hoped it wouldnt come back but it is getting quite big again now :-S. I also got him to do a lettter for me to the Dermatologist for another prescription of these Psorisis Tablets as I have been trying to get through with no luck and even leaving a message on the answerphone. So hopefully I will hear soon where I need to go and pick the prescription up from .It can only be done from the hospital as GPs are not allowed to prescribe this.

Chris still does not seem himself today. He had planned to go on one of his walks but has spent the day sitting around just reading.

You won't be burning yourself again on the towel rail then Frank !!!.That sounded really painful. I wish we had a towel rail in the ensuite. We have the radiator with a rail above but the towels hang down over the radiator stopping the heat and our ensuite is a really chilly room.

So the mattress was a success then last night Ann :-D. I bet your knees will soon feel the benefit . I know I was so surprised to wake up the first morning after our new mattress with no aches. It was brilliant. That was money well spent.

Gill I expect you are pleased that now you have done all that you can do in your Mums garden for this year. You and OH have done so much plus all the work in yours too.

Frank I dont think there will be any more grass cutting here now. I cant imagine your grass it that long now so maybe you can put you mower to bed now. I doubt the grass is going to be too dry from now on.

Ann,I hope OH doesnt have a horrible journey back .Friday night and rush our to on that M6 can be a nightmare.

HELLO COLIN :-D. Can you hear me :-D. How is he finding his new aids Mandy?

I stopped off at the little Co-op on the way back from the Drs and saw the homeless chaps sleeping bag and blanket but not him. There is a chippy next door with a bit of seating inside so I am hoping someone might have bought him some grub. Some hot food in his tummy will be needed tonight.
What a frost we had this morning . Everywhere was white.James had to scrape his windscreen before he left just after 7.30. Last night he brought down one of the bottles of Gin he bought at the Ginfest. It was called Tinkers and I think made in Yorkshire. He asked if we had any pears as it was supposed to be good with a slice or 2. My goodness it was so delicious :-D I have never tasted such a lovely G&T. James says on the website for it we can buy 3 bottles for the price of 2 .He will pay half so that is what we will do :-D :-D.

Ros's Uggs sound lovely and warm Frank. But aren't they flat ? I thought she was needing a bit of a heel !!. She will be wanting to wear them now in this cold weather and it will save a load of wrapping for you
;-)

The sky was a lovely red colour a few minutes ago .Its gone now and it is completely dark.Thomas has just ventured out after snoozing all afternoon.

Mel. Crester and Tiny Miny look like are really having a good Tuck in :-D :-D

Evening all ,

It's been a cold day here ,very sharp frost first thing we had to give the screen on the car a good scrape .

Colin seems to be getting on ok with his aids,i don't have to keep repeating things so thats better ,i did tell him not to listen in on peoples conversations as it would wear the batteries out quicker ;-) ;-) :-D :-D :-D
Frank he will get his new batteries from Spec savers which is where the aids came from ,she told him the batteries last about a week and they play a tune when they are running low :-D
You were very lucky you didn't get a nasty burn on your arm from the towel rail .

Mel the little Banties have some lovely markings on them don't they ,looks like they have taken to using the hay rack ok.

Ann i expect it will take a while to get use to the feel of the new mattress ,you'll be laying differently ,would a pillow help your knees ,i get achey legs some nights and find a pillow does help.

Glad your OH is feeling a little better now Gill ,the meds must be kicking in now and staying in the warm is a good idea ,the cold and damp wouldn't be good for his chest .

Oh Jane the poor chap sleeping out in this weather ,it would be nice to think the chippy gives him some hot food .
I saw Nicko again when i was driving through town ,i thought he looked a bit scruffy so i hope he's not sleeping rough again .
There seems to be lots of bugs going round so hopefully Chris will be feeling better soon .

We're having Chelsea here tomorrow ,hopefully if she's behaved herself she will stay the night .

Jane

Jane Report 17 Nov 2017 19:29

Good luck with Chelsea Mandy :-D :-D. Is it if she isn't well behaved she has to go home?
Those batteries don't last long in the hearing aids . Just a week.!!! I do hope that Nikko isn't sleeping rough again .It is horible to think of anyone having to live like that.
There was something on the TV or news about how some people are to scared to speak to the homeless.Older people are more likely to stop and talk rather than the younger ones. That surprises me.

Children in need tonight .. Tissues at the ready. Chris has just managed to do our donation by text.. It took him ages LOL and donated more than he intended to :-D :-D.I think just hit the wrong number on the keypad . At least it is all going to a fantastic cause. Long Live Pudsey :-D :-D

Frank Report 17 Nov 2017 19:39

Evening all, You must have guessed THE SOAPS ARE ON. Ros is now saying "she has to watch what I watch during the day" so I shouldn't complain about her soaps. Most of the day I am reading, and only put the T.V. on for the news at 1.30 pm. Then I might put Nat Geo. on later in the afternoon until Local news, then it's SOAPS. After 9.00 I might watch Vera on channel 119. Then I'm off to bed. She can then watch her Jewellery programmes.

What a cold old night it is again, and so dark !!! I hope your OH got home alright after his meeting Ann.

Gill don't mention pampas grass. We had one in the garden under the Cherry tree. I got so large, the only way I could get rid of it was to set it alight with petrol. Once it had burnt right down I was able to dig out the roots. That was the days before my stroke. No way can I do any digging now. My little veg patch is rotated each Spring. Last year Jonathan came and did it for me. So I am hoping he will offer again this year.

Sorry to hear Chris is a bit under the weather, not like him at all. He always seems to be on the go, doing this or that. I agree I think the mower will stay put now till the Spring. Then I will have to raise the cutter and gradually lower it, to get where I want the length to be. Bt that's a long way off. !!!

Pleased to see the chickens have taken to there new feeder. Mel, I don't know why but your emails ae coming through to me via my JUNK MAIL. It's a good job I look down the list before deleting them. I get anything from ho to make £13,000.00 in the next 24 hours, to how to cure HAIR LOSS. I still have a reasonable amount. Thanks !!!

I hope Nicko isn't back to sleeping rough. He was getting quite settled wasn't he.?? Glad Colin is getting on with his hearing aids. I didn't know he got it from Spec. Savers. Do you have one close to you, or do you have to go to dear old Norwich. ??

I see on the local news there are a load of YOBS riding their bikes around Northampton town centre, diving between bus's and cars. and doing Wheelies. How stupid can they be, and why aren't they at SCHOOL. More to the point why don't the police arrest them !!! I'll feel sorry for the poor motorist, who might run one of them over and kill them.

Ebay here I come. Have a good night, see you in the morning.

Love the pic Mel, your bantams look like they're having a great time eating all that food. Pleased to see the hay rack worked the way you wanted it to. I've answered your PM.

I hope you managed to get the meds you need soon Jane, fancy no one ringing you after you left a message.....how rude. It looks like we've both got poorly husbands, mine just keeps sleeping, but he must need it and with the meds he's starting to feel more human again. Hope Chris feels better soon <3

Poor Nicko Mandy, let's hope he's not sleep rough again, it's so cold lately and it's going to be colder next week. So Chelsea might be staying at yours, she'll love that. A week isn't very long for the batteries in Colin's aids. At least he can hear you now so you don't have to repeat yourself all the time, so that must be better for both of you.

Annx Report 17 Nov 2017 20:16

Well who should I meet when ordering my lunch but one of my beading friends I was with this morning and her hubby, so they asked me to join them! While we were eating I got a phone call from another of our group of beaders. The place we couldn't get in for a Christmas lunch had had a cancellation so we are going on the 15th Dec now. It is a restaurant at a training college where, under guidance, the catering and hospitality students prepare all the meals as part of their training. Some of the ladies have been before and said how good it is. Our silver service 3 course Christmas lunch with tea/coffee and petit fours will be £17.50 and there is plenty of choice.

Gill, I haven't made anything Christmassy yet, but might still have a go at something. I'll see if I can get a pic of the Xmas stocking one friend is making as that will show up well.

What it said in the paper was that the 2 men in their 20s had been taking drugs and that there were 10 times their levels in the 16 year old girl's blood. She had started fitting and they carried her out to the car and covered her with a blanket in the back and she died in the car while they drove around for hours and bought beer and rang escorts. They didn't try to get her any medical help and then crashed into a motorbike the other side of the village here. People that stopped to help after the crash saw her legs sticking out from under the blanket. They are on trial now.

Mel your little Bantams are so pretty, their feathers are lovely and would make some nice earrings! I think rings can be adjusted a couple of sizes so it would be worth asking Mel. I have some rings I can only wear on my little fingers now.

Surprisingly it only took OH an hour and a half to get home and he was amazed there wasn't more traffic, it being a Friday afternoon. Jane I didn't feel right for 3 days so if Chris has the same I'm not surprised he's still not 100%. What a nuisance the cyst is coming back again and will need draining. I hope your Doc's letter gets a quicker response from the dermatologist! James's Gin sounds like a good one you will enjoy, have you tried the others yet? The thought of anyone sleeping out in this cold is awful. I hope someone had bought him some hot food like you say.

Mandy I didn't know you could get hearing aids that adjust like that. I expect they will take a little while for Colin to get used to.

I hope your arm isn't too sore now Frank. I have done the same myself on our heated towel rail. I find Amazon are very good, especially when you can send things back free by using certain shops they have these arrangements with. Our neighbours are good and take things in usually, but must have been out too yesterday.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 17 Nov 2017 23:18

Gosh Frank I know just what its like to put your arm on the towel rail cos I have done that too!! It dos'nt half make you jump. Ours is right next to the loo.

Poor Chris and gill's hubby too. I hope they both soon feel better.

I think thats awful that the batteries only last a week Mandy!! You would think they would supply at least a months. Can he not get them on prescription? Mum had super dooper ones from a family firm. I still have them as the girl said they could be adjusted for me if I ever needed them. I also have masses of batteries for them. They are very tiny round ones. By the time I need them I shoud think they will be dead. Does Colin have to put them in himself? Such a nuisance having to go every week.

Yes the bantams got on ok with the new rack and will be more used to it tomorrow when I put it in again. I don't leave any food out during the night because it encourages mice and rats. I used to see the mice in the run when it was in a different position but can't see the run now from the back door as its over the other side of the back raodway past my shed.

After yesterdays lovely sunny but very cold day guess what its like here this morning?
Yep dull with grey sky but its not raining YET............

I want to do a bit of felting today but don't know whether it will happen or not.

Oh is out making the last frame for the patio but if it rains he will come in and leave it. I have the shop to go to as usual and do the egg delivery to Em next door.

Ann how was the second night on the new mattress? I hope the knees didn't suffer last night. What Mandy said is a good idea and I was going to suggest that but forgot. I do sometimes sleep with a pillow between my knees if they are playing up.

If it dos'nt rain too soon this morning I shall clean the girls out. It was too cold to do it yesterday although I did think about it.

Gillx

Gillx Report 18 Nov 2017 09:35

Morning Mel, morning all

Another cold day here but so far dry. The sun is trying it's best to come out.

What are you felting Mel?

OH said to my mum that the best way to get rid of the pampas was to burn it Frank but he couldn't do it that way as the plant was right in the corner next to fences and other plants, so he had to cut it down. The roots are still in there, so that'll be a job for the spring getting those out. She needed it cutting down so she could gain access to the conifers behind it, she makes flower arrangements and wanted some greenery for them.

That's awful Ann of those men and the poor girls parents, not to mention her. Let's hope they go to jail for a very long time. How nice to be able to go to your Christmas lunch after all, with there being a cancellation, that'll be something to look forward to.

How is Chris today Jane, my OH is almost back to normal now so the meds are definitely doing the trick. He's just taken a large parcel to the post office for me to send to my friend for Christmas in Australia, it cost just over £14 but that's probably because of the size, there is a large toy truck in there for her son along with a lovely clutch bag for her. I know it's a bit early to send it but with it being so big I didn't have anywhere to put it with all the other presents I've got to store.

I slept quite well last night, for a change, but that's probably due to how late we went to bed after watching children in need and the DIY SOS programme that was on after it. We didn't get to bed until around 2am and was awake before 8.30 this morning. I did quite well on OH's tree while I was watching the TV apart from one birth record, there were a few to choose from so I'm not sure which is the right one.

I'm going to have another go at it today. Later I'm going to pack up the solar lights from the garden. We brought them all in the other week as they were getting very wet with the rain and a few of them stopped working, so they're all going back in their boxes until the spring. To be honest with not having much daylight they weren't very bright and didn't stay on for long so there was no point in leaving them out over the winter months, to break in the damp weather.

Good morning Mel and Gill, any to all my other dear ladies. Evening Kim,

I watch Vera last night and was in bed by 11.00 pm. I had sid all evening that I could hardly keep my eyes open, and wouldn't need any rocking. How wrong I was. By 2.00 am I still hadn't slept, so got up and made COT and read my book until 4,00 am. I then slept until 9.00 I was going to turn over but could hear Ros pottering about so got up.

John and Carolyn got home from Australia in the early hours. Roa was going to get her a few things, not knowing when they would be home. John rang to say Carolyn had gone to Tesco, so no need to get anythings. They were away for 28 days flying around Australia. He said they SPENT 50 hours in AIRPORTS during that time. Who would make a note of that, ONLY JOHN !!!!

Made is off shopping with Martine, there is quite a lot of things I need so it won;t be a cheap shop, but with the prices today, nothing is cheap.

I spoke with Simon this morning, the only Sunday they are free in the 3rd of December. So I will OK it will Ros and have them over for a pre Christmas Dinner. I will see if Harvey and Julia are free also that day. So they can meet again after all these years. I bet Lewis will be working. He just might like to have the day off and come with his M & D.

I hear that Children in Need made over£50 million last night a NEW RECORD.Well done everybody.

That was a terrible story Ann, It just shows what all this doing drugs does to these youngsters. I think the COUNTRY should have an all out BLITZ on getting rid of these dangerous drugs, and those who peddle them. BUILD MORE PRISONS, Frank's on the war path LOL LOL.

Real dull miserable day here, I have to go to the freezer to get a joint out for tomorrow, so I will see how PARKY it is then. Big decision is what meat shall we have. !!!

I am off to the pub for the football come hell or high water, I MUST MAKE THE EFFORT> !!!!

See you all later "HAVE A NICE DAY" as our cousins across the pond would say. xxx
