Don't talk to me about CATS. The front border is being ruined by th blighters. I have put everything down, from broken clay pots, holly, Cayenne pepper.Powder repellants. The only thing I haven't tried is POISON. I know I would never do that. Ros works so hard to keep the garden looking nice. I have even put their mess in a bag and put on the owners doorstep. I know cats are a law unto their self, but it does make you frustrated.
Couldn't be bother to cook when the oven became available. So Ros had one of her meals and I made do with a Pizza. The cake looks very nice and is on a wire tray cooling down. I MIGHT HAVE A SLICE LATER. LOL LOL

Frank I sent Anne an email last night asking if all was ok. But have not heard anything :-S
WE have hads a power cut for the last hour. It has just come back on. So I have whipped dinner in the oven .I was just doing it when everything went off.I hope it stays on now otherwise it will have to be phone call for a Takeaway .
I know Frank and Ann have seen on FB that Kims friend, her old neighbour Joy who Kim used to tell us about has passed away this morning aged 91. She did well to last this long after all the falls and health problems she had.
Ann I reckon we are right about the elderly neighbour of yours. He probably was hanging on to his house as long as possible.I wonder if he will turn up again sometime ?? Just to see his old home is kept as well LOL I remember when I worked for Victim Support and used ot visit an eldery lady who had been mugged. She had been born in her house and had never lived anywhere else and refused point blank to move out into a care home. I think she was 90. Sadly she did have to move in the end and I went to see her in the Old Vicarage care home in Weekly. She hated it and died not long after she moved in. It was really sad :-(
I bet lots of people love eating Frogs Frank !!! Not that I know anyone who would. I wonder what they taste like. I dont think I will try that recipe :-D :-D.
I think I have a phone number for Anne !!!! Will have a look.

It's good to know Anne is ok Jane. I can quite imagine it would be painful to use the computer. Had to chuckle at Ruby making beds and 'looking after' toys.
Frank, you'd better leave the cake alone or you'll get your hand slapped! lol.

I can't imagine Frank woud really take a slice out of the cake.
It is good to know Anne is ok apart from her wrists. Will look forward to her posting and we may get a pic of Ruby and her nests! Dear little thing.
I hav'nt really done much today but feel absolutely worn out.
We had a small lamb joint tonight with purple brocc carrots and new pots onion and stuffing for oh with yorkshire puds which were a bit greasey I thought and I now have a touch of indigestion.
Anyone watch Digging For Britain tonight on bbc 4? I am going to watch my Detectorists once I am ready for bed. I like that I have watched the first two series and this is the third. They are going to build a huge solar farm on the land they have permission to use and there's rivals who are always wanting to share the land.

It looks like the sky cried in the night as the ground is very wet ,the wind was very strong when we went to bed last night but it's calmed down this morning .
It's good to know Anne is ok apart from her painful wrists, poor little Ruby making all her beds for her baby's.

Morning to you all, evening Kim,
I looked at the clock and thought it said 9.10 in fact it was 7.10. I didn't notice it until I was putting the kettle on. I wondered why Ros came back to bed after the toilet. Poor woman is having these funny turns in the night, as well as CRAMP.
Yes Jane poor old Kims neighbour passed away at 91. I bet it's a blessing in some respects, she haden't benign the best of health, had she ??
No slice of cake, and no power cuts, but that wind blew for England. I can't remember gusts like them. Lovely calm morning here, I've looked around from the windows but can't see any damage anywhere.
Roa should have been to the nail place yesterday, she thought it was okay. She has also got to go and see the specialist about her operation. I asked if she wants me to go with her. NO THANK YOU. I will be fine.
Glad Anne is O.K. My little poodle use to have these phantom pregnancies. If the boys left their little black watches around she would gather them up (also the T.V. control box) because that was black, and straight into her box, nosing them around under her body, so funny to watch. LOL
Time for a refill of my Tes. See you when you are and about. xx

<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY GILL <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Hope you have a great day with lots of cards and pressies and are pampered to bits by oh and Sandra. xxx
Morning all,
We have sunshine this morning and that dreadful wind has stopped too. I always find it surprising how different ev erything looks in the sun to those dreay days of cloud, wind and rain that we seem to get most days.
I am still feeding Hedgehogs!! as I suppose it is quite mild for the time of year really even though most days are cloudy.
Must do up some presents today as I seem to be lagging behind on that front.

Morning All,
:-) :-) MANY HAPPY RETURNS GILL :-) :-)
Are you doing anything special today? I hope you like your pressies and have a lovely day. :-D :-D
As you say Frank, what a night we had last night! we both said we had never known wind like it since we lived here. It was like being out at sea in a storm. lol. It sounded like the windows were nearly caving in at times. All calm now just like you and OH has just gone up the garden to see if there's any damage. Fancy your little poodle gathering up the black things for her nest. It's amazing how they know to do these things without being told.
No cars at the new neighbours when we went to bed last night and none early this morning so perhaps they are back at their old place cleaning too. :-) The elderly frail neighbour's bungalow is up for sale now. When I looked at it online I felt so sad as so many of her things like pictures and ornaments were still there. Her little greenhouse and plant tubs in the garden. You have to leave so much of your life behind to go into a home and worse if you are compus mentis as she was.I must see if I can catch her niece when she comes and get the address of the home so I can send her a Christmas card.
I haven't seen that prog Mel, but it sounds interesting. It annoys me that all the channels put their good progs on at the same time and there's only so many you can record at once.
Better get showered next and get ready to go out. I think we are off to Dobies along the A5 after lunch and we can call at Lidl's on the way back. The ATM at the new CO-OP in the nice village with the barns has been blown up now. Two ATM's in another village nearer the city have had skimming devices attached to them. How long before they have to remove a lot of ATMs or put them inside shops. They are only available when the shop is open then.

Morning all
Very cold here today with a bit of a breeze which bites through you, so I won't be going anywhere today. The Christmas tree is up with the lights on so we'll decorate that today. It's a snow tree so once we're finished I'm sure the floor will need hoovering again.
Sandra put a pink birthday banner up in the night so that was a nice surprise this morning. Thank you everyone for the lovely cards <3 <3
I've been spoilt and have had three boxes of chocolates, some lovely flowers off Sandra, a new sewing box which I really needed as my old one is a bit on the small side, a couple of CD's and some money. Oh and some gloves and a lovely plaque off my mum and a coat off my sister.
It sounds like you've all had terrible weather, we didn't have the high wind, just a little breezy. Hope there isn't any damage for anyone.
Sorry to hear Anne has sore wrists and hope they are better soon. Bless Ruby making beds for her toys.
Isn't it awful about the ATM machines Ann, maybe you're right and they should be put inside, although like you said you wouldn't be able to use them outside opening hours.
Yes, it has been really mild so far Mel, at least the hogs know where to come for food. It's suppose to be going cold nearer the weekend so maybe they'll hibernate then.
Isn't it annoying when you think it's later than it is Frank, then realise how early it really is once you're up and awake properly.
Going to get a cuppa now then make a start on the Christmas tree, Sandra can't wait, bless her.

SORRY GILL <3 <3 <3"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU" Glad you had a nice one, with plenty of presents. You were the lucky one to steer clear of all that WIND. I never thought it was going to stop.
What a surprise I have just had. I looked at my EMAILS and the first one was from RUBY in the U.S.A. Thanking me for my Christmas Card. Roa only posted the overseas ones the other day. They are celebrating "THANKS GIVING" tomorrow. Her three Grand daughters are doing all the preparation, so she can have an easy day. :-D :-D :-D
I guess lunch went well Jane hic hic LOL LOL
I have noticed that when I typed hic hic. It came out as HIS HIS. I suppose that's the spell check. Bit of a bigger when you don't notice the changes.
Ann, there are reports of these ATM being stolen quite often on the local news. These plant hire people should make sure that when the finish with the machines for the day, they should be made safe that they can't be STOLEN :-( :-( :-( These poor shop keepers, they try to offer s service to the public, and this what happens.
No sign of Ros yet. Her appointment was 1.30 pm and she was calling in at the nail saloon, to remake her appointment.
Simon rang to say that Sally would like to make a sweet for next Sunday, so I'm not looking the gift horse in the mouth. !!!
Have decided to do Smoked Salmon for a starter, as I know they both like it. What can I put with it, to liven it up ???
Time for a COT, so might see you later. Love to Anne, hope she manages to post today. But it's nice to know she is O.K.

Good afternoon all
<3 <3 <3Happy Birthday Gill <3 <3 <3. It sounds as if you have had some lovely pressies.
My wrists are still painful but better than they were thank goodness.
Can't get Ruby to eat anything today yet she is snuggled up beside me on the settee along with her" baby" the little pink pig while I am on here.
We had some good news about Pat, my SIL younger sister, she has been transferred to the stroke unit in Bexhill which is very close to her home in Hastings, she can now walk a little and is starting to get her speech back, at the time it happened the Specialist told her husband to expect the worse.
It is now four years since Peter died so not a good day for me and the family some times it only seems like yesterday.
Richard has an appointment at the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford tomorrow for a check up on his leg where the cancer was removed also just under four years ago so not a good year.
I am going to catch up on some of the posts now. We are having a Chinese meal tonight, only from Sainsburys so all I have to do is put it in the oven

Our local paper says there have been 23 of these raids on ATMs in the county in the last 18 months Frank, but a JCB wasn't used in this one. They broke into the shop first and then used gas cannisters to explode the back off the ATM. It would have been awkward to get a JCB in position as the ATM is down the side of the shop. They need to do something to stop them being broken into. It's good to hear Ruby is ok.
You have some nice presents there Gill and lots of choccies! :-D I bet Sandra has been busy decorating the tree today. I think she gets into the Christmas spirit before any of us, but it is great she enjoys it so much.
Oh Mel that must have been a shock........did you slip? I hope your knee isn't too bruised and achey tomorrow.

Can't help you with any ideas with the Salmon Frank .But it might be worth googling ideas. I bet you will find something there ,Just google what to go with a smoked salmon starter.
Mel have you got any peppermint tea? That might help with the burps and shift the pain.
Hi Anne :-D :-D. Oh little Ruby trying to look after her baby'pig' <3 It is really good to see you back with us. 4 years is really not a long time since you lost your dear Peter.I am sure even though it is a sad day for you you will be remembering the good times and happy days. Good luck for Richard and his check up tomorrow. Not an easy week for you <3 Pat sounds as though she is making good progress now :-) :-)
How did the cake turn out Mel? I just love that smell of Christmas cake cooking.
That was nice to hear from Ruby Frank. :-D :-D
Mel I hope you aren't too battered after your slip on the decking. I know that decking can be like an ice rink sometimes.
We had a very long lunch with Fitz !!. I don't know how we got around to it but it was old adverts on TV. The two that were top of the list were Hamlet Cigars and the Hairspray advert Harmony.. Chris remembered so well the saying "she wears Harmony" :-D..
The coffee machine we ordered yesterday arrived this morning !!!! and the shoes I ordered for James yesterday are ready to collect . That is really swift service. So tomorrow morning Chris and I will be off to Rushen Lakes (new shopping place) to get the shoes and then across the road to get a new printer at Waitrose (click and collect from (John Lewis) What did we do before shopping On Line !! Traipsing for hours around the shops :-S. I used to love doing that but not now :-D

Its good to hear from you Anne as we all worry when one of us is missing for a while. Good news for Pat then. Nice to hear something possitive for a change. You must be sad as its 4 years since you lost Peter but like Jane says no one can take your lovely memories away and I am sure you have plenty of those.
My knee is ok and you can't see anything there at all so thats good. Wjhat it will be like tomorrow is another thing but I should'nt think it is going to bother me thaank goodness.
Cake turned out ok and is now safely under the cake dome now its cooled down and it took a while.
I seem to have been on the go all day and the only thing I have to show for it is the cake and a clean bottom draw in the kitchen. Why do these things take so long to do now? I had a job getting in the back where the draw came out as I could'nt reach right inside to clean the back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I was going to do up some pressies today but thats gone out the window now. I have nothing ready for dinner but oh said he is happy with toasted cheese sarnies and I shall probably have eggs.
