Just noticed a few posts I'd missed earlier.
Sorry to hear you were up and down to the loo all night Mandy, I hope you feel better now. An early night will do you good and you'll be able to catch up with some sleep. We've had a nice day weather wise, OH was going to cut the lawns but finishing off Sandra's room took longer than we thought so he didn't get around to it. It sounds like you've been busy in your garden though, the rose is going to look lovely next year.
I didn't receive the envelope picture Mel, have you sent it to my old address? :-S :-S I'd love to see it, can you sent it to my new email address please? Thanks. That's the thing when you get into something, you lose track of time. At least it wasn't to late when you started dinner.
What a shame you didn't have your Chinese in the end Jane. Did you enjoy your mushies with your fish and chips? So Thomas isn't a happy boy being brought in doors. He was lucky James spotted him before he ran out onto the road.

Thank goodness you got Sandra's room finished Gill. What a job it has been especially as you haven't been feeling well. I expect she will be glad to be back in there tomorrow night. :-) It was good of your OH to think to make next door secure, but fancy the lady getting the wrong end of the stick with your text and cause her son to be running around. I hope he didn't lose the car sale! It seems a few have had a break in in the past and it must be scary. Fancy that landlord barging in like that on Jess. Serve him right if she'd bashed him on the head with a frying pan! I woke up hearing someone trying to get in through the bedroom window at my previous house once and woke my first hubby who got out of bed. That scared the chap who ran off up the road in what sounded like hob nail boots! The Police, even then in the 80s, wouldn't come out. With Diwali, there is an increase in burglaries in the city when they are out celebrating. It's awful these people just waiting for these opportunities to rob people.
That was a good price on the diesel Jane. I must see what our Asda are charging as I usually go to Sainsbury's the other side of the road.
Mandy I hate it when you have to keep going to the loo at night. Hopefully you are ok again now.
OH is hovering and wanting me to watch the last Joanna Lumley Silk Road prog we recorded, (I can read him like a book! lol) so I'm off to bed now.

Yes, Ann, Sandra will be glad to be back in her own room again. OH has put the blinds back up with the break in last night, he didn't want to leave the window bare.
Just watching the F1 at the moment, I'm hoping Lewis Hamilton wins the race this weekend as that'll mean he wins the championship. The last thing I want is for Sebastian Vettel to win, he's a cocky man and I don't like him. I've just noticed it doesn't finish till 11.35pm, so much for my early night. At least I can have a lie in, in the morning now Sandra's room is finished, so no need to get up early again.

Mornig all,
Another lovely sunny here here this morning. I woke at 20 to 8 for the bathroom and went back to bed and slept again till just after 10am so I am all in a rush now to get the chickens fed.
No cobweb pics today but I don't expect they are any different from yesterday maybe just a bit more holey. I did get some good ones yesterday.
Want to do some more craft today as I do get on well when the sun shines as its so much lighter indoors and I can see what I am doing.
I shan't be raking up ay apples today as my thumb is a bit sore where the blister was.
I do hope everyone had a good nights sleep and feels better for it this morning. Mandy how's the tum today?

Well, I didn't exec to be FIRST here this morning. GOOD MORNING.
No news on my sister, I rang her son last night, and left a message, which he hasn't replied too. So I rang my SIL this morning, she hasn't heard anything either.
Another bad night for me, nodded through the night and was awake at 5.00 am. I laid for an hour and got up. Feel totally whacked out, and ready for bed !!!!
Heating didn't come on last night, or this morning. I have the halogen lamp in the lounge, and having to boil water for washing up. I have rung Peter again. He isn't sure he can get here today, so it might be tomorrow evening.
Because I was up early, I did all the veg. for tonights dinner and made Yorkshire and Cheese sauce, only to get a PHONE CALL from Carolyn, asking us round to dinner for 3.00 pm.So all my hard work was for nothing. So it looks like we will be having a roast again tomorrow.
Ros is doing a little ironing, but I am keeping an eye on her. She can always do a bit more tomorrow.
Nice AUTUMN MORNING AGAIN. Sorry for shouting. lol lol.
I have showered, now I will boil a kettle and get shaved. :-| :-| :-|

Afternoon Everyone What a day. It is beautiful with wall to wall sunshine :-D Not a cloud to be seen.
Frank,I hope you hear something soon on your Sister. It will be on you mind ,no doubt causing another bad night.
Mandy it sounds like you have started off a bug ! . I hope all the children dont go down with it especially with it being the start of half term.I am glad you are feeling ok now though.
Ann I thought that price of petrol and Diesel was great.I just hope it isnt low now because it is a new petrol station. But I usually find Asa one of the cheapest places ,plus Sainsbury .
Lady birds are out in numbers today. It must be all this lovely warm sunshine. I just dont want the in the house.
Our F&Cs were delicious last night ,not sure an the Mushy Peas though . They were too mushy and more like a sauce. The Cod was so big it wouldnt fit on our plates so I had to break them in half!! I am still so disappointed though that we couldnt have the Chinese. I was so looking forward to that. I think we will try again maybe on Friday.I am wondering if there was a problem with their phone line as I did the ring back thing and when it rang back I still couldnt get through :-S
James was out until just before 3am.He said it was a good turn out for the music evening in aid of JHP and another charity. He then went into town with a couple of mates .One of his friend's Mum has written a book of Poems and was having a mini book launch at some pub. This morning he has made rice pudding with orange blossom water in and crunched Pistachio .It is now in several ramekins ready to take to work tomorrow. He said that he remembered I made this dish ages ago and his colleagues said they would love to taste it. I prefered the dish with Rose Water though rather than the Orange. They are just cooling off now so will go in the fridge until the morning.
Mel there are a lot of cobwebs glinting in the sunshine here. One spectacular one between two of the patio chairs.I dont want to disturb it.
So Sandra is back in her room again then Gill :-D What a great job you have done . I take my hat off to you for persevering with what sounded like quite a task.
I think I am going to go and sit in the sunshine for a while and get my dose of Vitamin D :-D Then I will ring Janice as yesterday she sounded really down in the dumps. I could tell by her voice she was not great. I think she is just so fed up with not being able to do all the normal things .Larry was going ot put the wheel chair in the car and take her to M&S just to get her out and maybe a little retail therapy. She just wants this Manipulation of her knee over and done with .
Right Sunshine here I come :-D

We've sat out again this afternoon it's been so nice ,i now see on the Country file weather that by next weekend the winds are coming from the Arctic :-0 me thinks that will be the end of our sitting out .
Frank i hope you have heard some news on your sister , such a worrying time for you wondering what's going on .
Your F&C sounded good Jane just like the fish we have at the coast they over lap the plate :-D That's nice James making a rice pud for his friends at work to try ,is it some thing the others have done if they've make some thing nice ? I don't think i've given the little ones the bug Jane as some of their friends had it last week so no doubt they caught it from them .

Evening All,
Just did a post and lost it as it said there was no internet connection! Switched off and on again and there it was all working again. :-S There's no rhyme or reason sometimes.
Gill, did you manage to do the wallpapering on top too? You certainly are a whizz if you managed that. I hope your throat is a bit better today. Good idea to get Sandra's blind back up. She will feel better about that and no-one will be able to look in her room.
Jane it's nice to treat yourself to F&C sometimes, but I'm with you on mushy peas.....no puree or being able to pour them on! I usually have garden peas but like mushy ones to have plenty of visible peas and be more like mashed potato. :-S That was lucky that Thomas was spotted before he went on the road! Hello Kitty was in his usual spot in the road when we went out earlier. Some toerag has dumped some black bags at the bottom of the hedge there and he was looking at them with interest.
Poor old Katie getting the bug. I bet they were disappointed to not be calling round today Mandy. Hopefully the disinfectant spray may stop it spreading........they don't want to be ill at half term! It was half term last week here, although the city is the same as where you are. Your Rose should look nice against the trellis and be easier to control. I love Honeysuckle but had to take mine down in the end as it was such a tangle and not flowering so well.
I wonder if Frank has anymore news about his sister yet? Not a good day at all for you Frank, what with the heating going off again and you working to get the dinner prepared and then getting an invite out! At least you can have it tomorrow though.
Strictly was good again last night. The standard with some is so high, but then dancing in some form and performing in public isn't new to them all. How sad it is that Katie Piper has had abuse and cruel remarks made elsewhere about her scars and blindness in one eye since being on the show.
Mel I was racking my brain to remember who wrote the poem about 'the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness'. OH knew straight away......Keats! I remember us learning it at school.
Off to watch the recording of the Open All Hours thing. It's very predictable but we just love Mr Newbold and Delphine!

Ann I lkie Mr Newbold and Delphine too. Its nice to have something watchable instead of all the silly stuff they put on nowadays. All these reality programs get on my wick.
I finished the third mistletoe brooch this afternoon and started another with a mushroom on it. Then oh came out and I messed my cotton up so I got tea and am going beck to it after the race when oh goes back in his study.
Poor little Katie getting a bug. I do hope it dos'nt go through the lots of them. It must be hard making them all wash their hands and runing around with the spray. I feel so sorry for your DIL Mandy.
Frank I hope you enjoyed your meal out and you had a good meal. Nothing worse than thinking of the lovely dinner at home if the one out was'nt up to scratch. Hope your sister improves.

Morning all,
Another bright and shiney morning here, so whats it like with you?
The blister on my thumb hurt last night before I went to bed and I thought it would be better this morning as I did it on Friday I think raking up the apples in the orchard. When I woke this morning it was fine till I moved my thumb and it cracked right open and bled. I am now sitting here typing with a load of Vasaline on my thumb and I think I may have to put a plaster on it. I knew I should'nt have kept washing my hand with the antibac hand wash. :-S

I think I will just give up on everything. Nothing is going my way. !!!
Dinner was roast lamb and very nice, but halfway through I had to rush to the toilet and was VIOLENTLY SICK. So that was me finished.
Peter came round about 1.00 pm to fix the boiler £30.00. and this morning IT'S NOT WORKING AGAIN. It looks like I will be having a NEW BOILER. We can't go on like his through the winter months.
When we got back from Carolyn's we found the kitchen floor was wet. I traced the source to under the Fridge Freezer. We put a big bath wrap down on the floor and that is soaked this morning.
My Nephew rang to say he had been with his mother all day, with his brother. She had been drifting in and out of sleep all day, and sometimes "FITTING" she is not on any sleeping medication, so they will just have to see what happens. All I can do is sit and wait for any news. NOT GREAT.

Morning All,
I wish our window cleaner would stick to his regular day as It is nuisance not knowing whether to risk jumping in the shower or not. We can lock the side gate but he climbs over the fence if we do. I'm sure that's why the gate lock doesn't line up very well now as well. That's my little irritation of the day out of the way!
Oh Frank you aren't having much luck lately. I hope you feel a bit better nowl. It sounds like there may be a bug going around. Fingers crossed your boiler can be fixed. Your sister seems to be going downhill which is another worry for you. I should rest up today if you can.
One of our 2 Wyevale garden centres is being taken over by Dobbies next month so we are going there to spend our vouchers we have this afternoon. We may get a bite to eat there as well although they tend to have big queues. I've got a bag for the charity shop at the dogs home I can drop off on the way. I'm going through my cupboards and drawers!

Sorry to hear about your sister Frank. She is in the best place to have evryone on hand. Bless. What a todo with your boiler.I am sure Peter will come back and sort it for you and if not it will be a new boiler, More Expensense!!!!!! We could all do without these big bills at our time of life.
Hav'nt you been busy going through your drawers Ann? What a good girl. I think its about time I went through mine but I jhust don't seem to get the time to do it. I don't want to do it anyway I just want to do my crafts after the initial housework.
Changed the bed and the washing is on the line and there's a nice little breeze so it should dry as its a beautifull day once again.

Just had one engineer with a quote for a new boiler which he can fit on Friday. Is that good service or what.?? I have two more coming to quote me. I will also give Peter a chance to quote if he would like to.
All the Towels have been washed and dried, ready to go down on the kitchen floor if and when needed again. the water seems to have slowed right down from the Freezer. Harvey is coming up his evening to have a look at it, to see if it's something he can sort out. I will also get him to reset the boiler.
Ros has just been to see Val next door. She seems a little better, but was complaining about Tony leaving her alone all the time. He just leaves her with a glass of water and the remote control for the T .V. She has asked him to let her go to hospital, but he just ignores her. He insists there is not much wrong with her and needs to walk more. What sort of man is he. I'm alright jack, so sod everyone else.
We have been searching for BUBBLE WRAP as Ros is packing the Devon presents, for Jan to take back ,when she calls next week. Roa will have to buy some tomorrow when she goes to her hospital appointment, the Carolyn has kindly offered to take her.

Afternoon All I hope all those dumped black bags will be collected before any foxes or Rats get to them . Hello Kitty might have had a sniff of something tasty in them :-D. Why do people do this. I noticed this morning across the road where they are working that a load of carpets have been dumped :-S.
Oh dear Frank, it has been a bad day for you what with the boiler and the fridge freezer. Then you being so sick last night too. Tomorrow must be a better day. Fingers crossed you can get your new boiler for a good price. You will need it now with the temperature dropping.I wonder why you so suddenly ill like that !. Tony really does sound a selfish and self centered man . I do feel so sorry for Val.
Mel that anti bac hand wash drys the skin if you use it all the time. That blister sounds really sore. The trouble when things break open is that it keeps happening and it is not like you can not use your thumb. I hope it heals up quickly and doesn't get infected.
Frank I am sorry your Sister sounds so ill now. Do they know why she has started fitting?
I seem to have so many of these blasted Harvester Spiders again and they are really big. The webs are just everywhere. I seem to have spent the best part of the day trying to get rid of them all. They are certainly trying my patience now :-S
Chris is taking his suit into Northampton tomorrow to Montegue Geffories (sp) to see if they can do anything with it. If not it will have to be another new one. He has a different Navy one but I don't like it for the Wedding. (not that I am fussy ;-)). I just dont think it is special enough . I can really feel the difference in the temperature today.Even with the lovely sun it has been much colder than yesterday. Still not cold enough to light the Woodburner though. At least we have 2 baskets of logs in the garage now so are ready to go .
The Rice Pudding Mandy was just a whim really. James said someone at work said they had a lovely one the other day and that reminded James of this one. I wonder how it went down !!. We love it cold but there is a microwave at the office so could easily be warmed up.This recipe is just done in a saucepan .
I have my dress and jacket ready to go to the Lady tomorrow morning. I hope she doesnt want me to get into the dress. Time to start getting dinner . Deboned Chicken and a traybake of potatoes, peppers, portobello mushrooms and red onions.

Evening all, GOOD NEWS. Harvey Visited this evening, and being the type that turns his hand to anything. He found the drain off tap in he kitchen was loose. He tightened it up and reset the boiler, bled all the radiators, and THE BOILER FIRED UP, EVERYTHING IS NOW WORKING FINE. The water wasn't coming from the Fridge after all.
"Everything in the garden is now blooming." so I can now relax with a couple of beers, and couple of thousand pounds, better off.

Evening all
I've been very ill these past few days that's why I've not been on here. My throat and ears are still very sore and I've been sick. I'm wondering if there is a bug going around, what with Katie, Frank and me. I feel very drained, so I haven't done anymore insulation in the other room. I can't seem to stop sneezing to.
No Ann, I didn't wall paper the wall, it was Sandra's room I was doing and the wall papering is for the spare bedroom which I still need to insulate. Sandra is now back in her room and very pleased with all the work I've done for her. We will paint it after the other room is finished, then we can do all the decorating in one go.
Thanks Mel for the envelope picture, it's really pretty, you are clever.
Sorry to hear you're not well Frank and also about your sister. At least she is in the right place. Did you see my post the other day about a FREE BOILER from WARMFRONT. Give them a call, we've had two new boilers in the last 10 years and it's well worth calling them. It'll save you a lot of money. Do you need a new fridge now or was it something that could be fixed?
So you and Chris are having your wedding outfits altered now Jane. You're both going to look very smart for Hannah and Gareth's big day.
Pleased to see you're feeling better Mandy, how is Katie now, is she starting to feel better yet? I agree with you the weather is starting to cool down now. Mind you I have a temperature, so the cool air is lovely with me being so hot.
Going to get a drink, I'm trying to keep my fluids up. I'll try and get back on here tomorrow if I feel up to it.
