Just noticed your post Frank. Pleased to see your boiler and fridge are now working properly again. That's a few things you don't need to worry about now and a nice visit from Harvey to. All you need now is a good nights sleep, hope you have one tonight <3

O Gill I think you just wear yourself out and then it makes you low and you pick up these nasty bugs.
I have been sneezing a lot lately and have abit of a cough.
I changed the bed this morning and it dried nicely on the line so I brought it all in and ironed it so that jobs out the way for another week.
I opene dthe bedroom window when I was doing the bed and forgot to shut it and when oh went in there after lunch he said it was full of flies. I went in with my duster and caught them all and back out the window they went. Made sure I shut the window then and closed the bedroom door. We had a lovely sheep sh*t pie tonight with sprout and spinach. Carrot and onion in with the meat and I must remember to put Bovril on the list for tomorrow as it is getting low and I like to have it in the cupboard. I quite like it on a bit of toast sometimes if I don't have Marmite.

Morning All,
Well I can't sleep so thought I'd practice a bit more on my tablet. My fingers seem so clumsy with the swiping I keep losing stuff so I need practice! I expect I haven't been able to sleep because I need to be up early for my hair appointment. I'll be like a zombie all day today now.
Excellent news about your boiler and water leak Frank..........good old Harvey saved the day.
Sorry to hear you got the sick bug Gill..............it does seem to be going around. It sounds like you have a throat infection as well, so must have felt awful with both. I see what you meant about the wallpapering now.
Better try to sleep now or there will only be 40 winks left for me to have! Lol.

Good morning Ann, and all.
I was smashing waking up to a warm bungalow this morning. At times like this HARVEY is worth his weight in gold.
Looks a real chilly Autumn morning out there, I have no reason to go out, so it won't bother me. Roa is at the nurse 10.40 regarding her latest blood test. Then this afternoon a the hospital for a check up on her progress after the Heart Attack.
We both threw more away, than we ate last night. I put it down to to stress and worry regarding the boiler and fridge freezer. So hopefully we will fair better this evening, when we decide what we will have.
It's our old Village policeman's funeral tomorrow, I expect the Crem. will be packed. I am not sure if I want to go, but will decide in the morning. John had to go and buy a new suit yesterday, as he has lost so much weight. He has gone from over 15 stone to just under 11 stone. He is doing the urology (sp), as he has known Colin for over 45 years. Colin's wife wanted a close family do, but you can't stop people going to pay their respects .
Gill, YOU MUST START TO SLOW DOWN. You are a silly girl working yourself like you do, as I have said before "there's always tomorrow" so slow down. Uncle Frank has spoken. lol lol
Ann you were an early bird this morning. I was lucky I had a good night with only two calls of nature. I nearly turned over at 8.00 am when Ros got up, but as she had made the tea I thought I had better get up.
The bathroom is free now, so I will go and get my shower in a nice warm bathroom. !!! see you later . xxx

Morning all
Very windy and cold today. Mr Grumpy is cutting his hedge, I think he's got some help as it sounds like there are two of them having a go at it. I hope nothing comes over our side as I was sick again in the night and don't feel up to picking the hedge bits up. My neck and shoulders are sore today for some reason. Maybe I slept funny last night.
Poor Sandra had a panic attack last night, she came into the living room saying she didn't feel very well and was as white as a sheet. It took OH and I almost half an hour to get her breathing under control. My mum has to go for a minor op on Wednesday and Sandra has managed to convince herself that her gran is going to die. I've explained that she'll be okay, but I'm not sure she believes me. I think with the break in over the road and her having to sleep in the living room the night after must have started her worrying. She's back in her room now so hopefully she'll calm down and not worry to much. It was a shock when I saw her though as even her lips were white, she was complaining of pains in her chest, but once she was calm the colour came back into her face and the pain stopped.
I'm going to do what Frank said and have a few days off before starting the insulation in the spare bedroom. I really don't feel very well, so resting up should do me the world of good.
Pleased to see you've had a good nights sleep Frank and now have a warm bungalow to get up to.
Sorry to hear you didn't have such a good night though Ann and hope you managed to get a bit more sleep before having to get up for your appointment.
Going to get a cuppa, my throat is very dry. I've been very thirsty lately.

Morning all,
We have another quite bright morning here but there are clouds in the sky this morning as well as blue and a watery sun.
Sorry to hear Sandra is not well too Gill and yourself. Your shoulder pain could be to do with retching as you seem to use muscles you did'nt know you had. I hope andra dos'nt get it and that your mums op goes off ok and Sandra can put her mind at rest.
Ann hope you got in some more sleep after your early post and got to your appointment on time.
Well another shopping day has come round yet again and I must get on as I was up late today. I dreamt of great big apples hanging on our trees and they were as big as pumpkins!! They were weighing the branches down nearly to the ground. Someone was with me but I don't know who it was as you could'nt pick them on your own.

Sandra had a panic attack Mel, but is okay now. She's still asleep so I'm going to leave her until she's ready to wake up. She's had a lot of late nights and early mornings over the past week and she normally sleeps quite a lot so I expect she's very tired now. Hopefully she'll be alright and not have another panic attack again.
That was an interesting dream you had, I think if you dream of apples it's meant to mean good luck and is a signal you are content and happy, amongst other positive things, so that's good.
Mr Grumpy has someone cutting his large conifers down along the back of his garden, it's very noisy. I hope who ever he has doing it knows what they're doing and it doesn't fall onto our side as our shed is down there and the conifers are very high. If he doesn't take it down bit by bit and cuts it in the wrong place the whole thing could fall our way and break everything in it's path including all our screening and shed. I could do without that today.
It's going to open up all the back and the house over the back will be on show so we'll lose our privacy. I just hope the house over the back has their own trees there behind his conifers, although the branches on this side I should imagine will be dead as there wouldn't be any light getting to them. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
I was given some nice material yesterday, little red roses on a white background so I'm washing it at the moment and then I'll make something with it. Not sure what I'm going to make yet, they were short curtains but quite wide so plenty of material to make something nice. I like to wash it first in case it shrinks. It took me a while last night to unpick it from the lining and take the tape off the top, so now I have cotton all over the living room floor. I'm sure OH won't mind hoovering it for me later once I've finished washing it all, if I don't feel up to it.
I'm going to get my pinking shears and cut around the material as the cotton has frayed after it was washed, so hopefully it won't fray again. Sandra likes the material to so I might make some cushions for her bed with some of it, I've got another three pieces to wash and dry first though. It's Laura Ashley material, so a good make and like I said very pretty.
If Sandra wants she could make something to, it might take her mind off everything that's happened lately and give her something positive to focus on. Maybe she could make something to hang on her Christmas tree, maybe some little stars, she could fill them with stuffing and hang some around her room to. I'll see what she says later when she wakes up. The lining is white and there's plenty of it so maybe she could use some of that as well and sew some sequins on it, although I'll have to buy some of those as I don't have any in my sewing box. I'm sure we'll think of something for her to make and like I said it'll give her something positive to focus on.

Nice that Sandra is alright after her panic attack last night.. Sleep will do her good.
The shopping day comes round very quickly don't they Mel. You must get fed up having to drive to get the shopping. Don't forget his CIDER. lol
The doctors haven't received anything off the roaregarding Ros's MRI scan. The receptionist said they can take up to 4/6 weeks to come through. Which to me, seems a long time.
The wind has blown the poppies off the road signs, so Ros has been out tying them back on.
Have decided to have Tesco Finest meals tonight. (A) I can't be bothered to cook, and (B) We are not eating much, and don't want to waste more food.
Still no news regarding my sister, so I assume she has had a good night, and everything is alright. I will ring Paul (her son) this evening.
Still a cold wind outside, but the watery sun is trying to break through.
Ros is watching "Country File" which I recorded on Sunday, while she was asleep. I thought she would enjoy it, which by the look of her, she is. !!!
Jan and her sister come home from Spain tonight. Their flight is at 9.30 pm, so a late night home for them both.
trying to think what to get Ros for Christmas. What do you buy for a woman that seems to have everything she wants/needs ??? More Jewellery I expect.
Sounds like you are going to be busy with your sewing Gill. The "Stitchery do" girls are making a 14 inch SANTA as a door stop, stuffed with sand. Another piece of JUNK to clutter up the place. !!!

Afternoon Everyone So you are warm and toastie now Frank and no more leaks :-D Fingers crossed Harvey has fixed the boiler now and it won't pack up again. It is quite windy here too now. I hooe the Poppies stay in place now Ros has tied them all back on.
That sounded very worrying last night with poor Sandra having that awful panic attack. Does she have them often or when there have been upsetting things happen? I can't imagine how horrible it must be to get Panic attacks. I think just sitting quietly doing things with that pretty material sounds just what you need this afternoon. You neeed to give your chance to just rest a bit and shake off your sickness. I am sure any DIY /House work can wait a day or two. Are Mr Grumpy's trees down now? Can you see if the people at the back have tall trees behind his Conifers. I would hate to lose our privacy.
Ready Meals seem a sensible thing for tonight Frank if neither of you are eating much. I have got a Beef Casserole in the oven and have just made lovely creamy mash. No lumps either :-D. I am so tired Im having trouble keeping my eyes open.So I think I might just have a tiny power nap on the settee.

I'll join you for a nap Jane. I've nearly nodded off at the computer a few times. I never went back to sleep so didn't sleep a wink last night. :-S
Gill, sorry you still have an upset tum, what with that and Sandra having a panic attack you need that pretty material and to sit and make something to calm you down. I bet Sandra is loving the idea of some nice cushions with roses on them! :-) It's a shame if you lose your privacy with the trees coming down and I hope they haven't caused any damage getting them down. We are private in our back garden, but dread them building in the cow field at the bottom of the garden. You can't help but think it is only a matter of time though.
The window cleaner came while I was at the hairdressers this morning so no problem timing our showers sround him now for another month.
We had more big lorries before 8.00am this morning delivering building blocks to the new bungalow at the bottom of the close round the sharp bend. They realise they can't turn lorries to get down there now so they park across either next doors or our driveways and then use a trolley thing to wheel the blocks down the rest of the close. I could hear an altercation going on with the next door neighbour this morning as he was wanting to get out of his driveway. :-S

Back again. I decided it would be silly to have a nap now.Its too late in the day.
Frank, maybe things have settled down for your Sister . No news is good news. I am sure you would get a call should things take a turn for the worst.I wonder if she would be well enough to go home or maybe a NNursing home would be the best place now. I know how she struggled before.
I took my Jacket and Dress to he lady this morning. She is really nice and works from her workshop which has been converted from the garage. She is sure she will be able to line the jacket. It is just a matter of finding the right one(thickness and colour). It is only going to cost around £25 which I thought was a really good price. Chris also took his suit in to Northampton but it is going to be a really big job . Basically taking the whole jacket apart and re making and then the trousers. So he has ordered another suit now. Luckily it was in the sale from Brook Tavener down from £400 to £200.! It is a Birds Eye pattern(if that means anything to you sewing girls) The lady I went to was telling me she has someones wedding dress that needs to be altered pretty quickly. The wedding is on Nov 13 and the ladies boobs are too big for the top !!!. How she is going to make it bigger heaven knows. It is a heavily laced dress .It also needs taking up.
Did anyone see that Documentary last night about the lady who was kept as a slave ? It was subtitled / What a life :-( :-( I see there is a new series starting next month which sounds just my thing. KIller by the Lake on Channel 4. It is filmed on and around Lake Annecy (where we went for our Holiday this year).I hope it isnt subtitles but have a feeling it might be.
My Casserole is smelling good now. I am just keeping it on low in the oven and it will be fine for another couple of hours if needs be. I just need to thicken the gravy with my good old Bisto Beef Gravy Granules.
Shopping all done and put away Mel? :-D. Putting it all away I think is the worst bit . Who is it who likes Youngs Jumbo Scampi? I think it might be Mandy. Half price in Tesco at the moment :-D :-D Also for Anne(if you are looking in) 25% of 6 bottles of wine . Anne and Ruby are fine . I do wish she would come back and join us again.

Evening all,
What a change in the weather t's been much colder today but we still had some lovely sun shine .
Well how good was Harvey Frank getting the boiler going and and finding out where the water was coming from ,that's a good bit of money he saved you thank goodness you hadn't ordered a new boiler .
Poor Sandra having a panic attack she must have got so worked up i hope she's feeling a lot calmer today . A little bit of sewing for you then Gill the material sounds really pretty with the roses on ,hope your throat is a little better .
I was wide awake at 4-30 this morning ,i woke up and was so hot so i pushed the cover off and laid there cooling down for a while then i just could not go off again so it will be an early night for me tonight as we should have Lacey for the day tomorrow .
So you know you'll be ok getting in the shower for the next month now the window cleaner has been Ann ,fancy him going over your fence ,bit naughty !!! So the lorries are still delivering in your close ,is this the last bungalow to be built ? i should think you'll be glad when they've finished so you can to go back to some peace and quiet .
Jane i had to google the Birds eye pattern ,it looks like a tiny pattern so Chris should look smart in his new suit ,he got a bargain getting it half price . That a good price to get your jacket lined ,sounds as if the the lady will have a job on her hands trying to alter the wedding dress . Oh thanks yes it is me with the Scampi i'll get in there and get some .
Oh i meant to say Colin's sister is back home after all those weeks in hospital ,she has help coming in twice a day ,it's so nice to see her back home at last .
Today would have been my Mum's 97th birthday <3

Yes back home safe and sound and all the shopping is put away. Thats the bit I hate too Jane. Not so bad if you shop a couple of times in the week but a weekly shop takes me ages to put away.
Ann I bet you sleep really well tonight after last night and nearly dropping off during the day. Did you stay in today after the hairdressers?
Frank as Jane said no news is usually good news for your sister but you should knwo whats going on when you ring her son tonight.
Gill the material sounds nice and I do wish you could send pics of what you make. Can't you download Sandra's camera to your laptop? You will have to let us know what you and Sandra make out of it.
We had the most beautifull sunset tonight it lit up the sky on the opposit side to where it was going down and the whole garden was bathed in a rosey glow. I took some pics but I bet they don't look anything like it with the naked eye.
Usual curry for oh tonight and I have a homemade steak pie. I made two little ones when I cooked the pie last week as I cooked extra

I didn't go for a nap either Jane. I told OH I would be wide awake at 2.00am if I did and be back to square one! My word how much weight has Chris lost if his suit was too big. I can imagine a jacket would be difficult to take in. He has made a great saving on the new suit though at half price. OH has had/probably still has a pair of trousers in that birds eye pattern, I like it.
Mel after my haircut I took another bag of things I'd sorted to the dog's home...........I nearly came away and took it elsewhere as well. There were no parking spaces so I pulled up behind others that were parked down the middle.. A woman and man were standing at the side of the Citroen in front of me and as I got out of my car and walked towards the sheds at the bottom where you leave stuff, the woman dived across and asked me where I was going. 'To just leave this' I said, thinking what business was it of hers anyway. Then she asked me what was in my bag and I said 'why'. Her reply was 'so that she could tell me where to put things! I said I'd got a mixture of things and there was no need to tell me as there were labels on the sheds saying what goes where. I was beginning to think she was some kind of dealer, creaming stuff off before you could leave it when she shouted to me to leave my bag in the trolley at the side and I realised she was one of the staff. Usually you can just drive up, drop your things off and go, People won't bring them things if they have to face Miss Bossyboots, the intercepter each time. I wish I could have thought quicker when she asked me what was in my bag and had shouted back in an equally loud voice so everyone could hear that I had a BLOW UP DOLL. lol.
We also stopped at a small garden centre near where we had lunch, just to look at the christmas things but didn't get anything. I can't go anywhere with much walking at the moment and OH drives me to the door of places and drops me off when he can to save me having to walk/limp.

Morning all
Dull windy day here today. Winter is definitely on it's way now. Only 2 months to Christmas Eve.
I had to laugh when you told us your story Ann and how you should of said you had a blow up doll. ;-) ;-)
That's a good price for the alterations on your jacket Jane. I didn't know what birds eye pattern was so had to Google it to. Chris is going to look very smart in his new suit. He got a bargain there didn't he? No Sandra doesn't normally have panic attacks, this was the first time. I think the break in effected her more than we realised, but she's been okay and slept better since she went back into her own bedroom, so that's good. I'll keep an eye on her and hopefully it won't happen again. Because she was breathing sharply she got a pain in her chest which frightened her and then made her breathing worse, she was going around in circles, it was her breathing that was making her chest hurt which then made her panic more and so on. Eventually she sorted her breathing out which in turn stopped the pain in her chest. It can be difficult sometimes for Sandra to understand why things happen. Thankfully she's okay now.
Hope you managed a better nights sleep last night Mandy so you can enjoy your time with Lacey today. Pleased to see Colin's sister is back home now.
Sandra's noticed the rosy glow of the sun lately to Mel, she loves it. Where she sits in the living room she has a brilliant view of the sunsets in the evenings. Hope the pictures turned out nicely for you.
Have you heard anything about your sister yet Frank?
I need to trim the edges of the material and iron it before we can make things. Sandra doesn't know how to sew as she's never tried so she's a bit nervous at using the pretty material. I suggested that she starts with the white cotton lining first to gain a bit of confidence then if she wants she can make something out of the other material. We're not sure what to make yet, so might have a look online for some ideas. Our place is a bit upside down at the moment with having to insulate the spare bedroom so it'll probably be after that's done before we start on the sewing, in the meantime I can get the material ready and we can see what we fancy making.

Good morning all,
We both had bad nights last night. Ros spent a lot of time sitting in the lounge. Her sciatica was very bad last night. She is more comfortable sitting than lying down. i just couldn't sleep, just dozed between clock watching.
I got showered and shaved and put my dark blue suit on, not worn since I stopped work in 2004. To my great surprise it still fits.We decided to go to the Funeral after all. I expect the Crematorium will be packed, so we will need to be there early if we want a seat. I don't know if there will be a wake, I will ask John if there is, and where. W will pop in to pay our respects before coming home, and getting all this collar and tie, suit off, and get into my joggers and T shirt.
There are times when I think everything gets on top of me. What with all this water/Fridge problem. Then it's all sorted in a flash, and all the worrying wasn't worth it. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) But how thankful we are to have a son who can turn his hand to everything, and sort it out.
No news regarding my sister, in fact I forgot to ring Paul last night. If there is any change, I am sure he will let me know.
I have only scanned over your posts, and pleased to see every one is well. I'll try to comment later in the day. xxx

We have sunshine again today after that beautiful sky last night. Its a very dampy morning though and typical for October. Most of the sky is blue but there are light clouds in it too.
Housework today, the washing machine is going already and I need to get on.
Sorry you both had another bad night Frank and hope the funeral goes off ok and you find seats.
Gill is this the first time Sandra has used her sewing machine??????? You saying she has'nt sewn before shocked me.
