Glad it all went off well Frank. Did you have to stand?
Had a good clean of the shower today and the bathroom. I don't know where all the muck comes from. Iv'e had a good bleach in the shower all round and cleaned the plug hole out of oh's hair. I bet he will use it tonight and then muck it all up again as he has been scarifying the lawns and changing the mower deck over and all sorts of dirty jobs and he has just put the bins out.

Afternoon Everyone Was the Crem the one in Kettering? Or is there one in Northampton? I expect you are glad you decided to go in the end.He must have been a very popular man :-DIt will be nice ot get out of your suit and tie. Chris hates having to wear ties now and will only wear them when absolutely necessary .He actually stopped wearing them for the last few years he was working. Thinking about it now I havent seen a GP wearing a tie for a long time. I think hospitals banned ties for Drs because of infection .
Ann that woman sounded a right Sargeant Major :-S. My Mum would have called her a Bossy Bitch :-D :-D. She must think she has a very important job . Did your window cleaners turn up yet? It is bad that he climbs over your gate when it is locked :-S I think our cleaners are due in the first couple of days of Dec.
Housework for you today Mel. Me too. I took all the pictures of the walls and cleaned them ,got rid of all the cobwebs behind, then I got Chris to take down the big upside down shades off the ceiling lights . My word the muck that had collected !!!. Besides the dust, there were dead Moths and even a dead Wasp :-S Table lamp shades too had a good clean. So I feel as though I have made a bit of progress today. I was saying to Chris I still dont feel 100% since that Virus. That must be over a month now. Well since Hannah was last here. She will be back again on Saturday. I hope I have a bit more oomph by then. Chris ordered one of those Vax Blade cordless vacuums today.I struggle with the great monster we have. It is like carting an elephant around from room ot room :-S. So this new one will arrive tomorrow and then I will not put off hoovering :-D
Gill it might be handy to have a paper bag handy if Sandra should have another panic attack. Just breathing in and out of a paper bag helps with slowing down breathing .Hopefully it wont happen again though. That is good Mr Grumpy only lopped of branches and not the whole trees.Your privacy is still safe :-D
Our sky is lovely at the moment with beautiful pink clouds and blue sky.I think it is going to be a chilly night. Thomas seems to be coming in much earlier .It was 6.30 last night and I didnt let him out again until 6.15 this morning. I bet now I have said that he will go AWOL .
Mandy that is amazing that OH's Sister has been able to go home . When you think how bad she was and you thought she would never make it home again. I hope she stays well and can continue to stay in her own home.
Dinner tonight is a right old mix. I am going to finish the casserole from last night with rice and Chris and James each have some ready meal Curry.

Evening All,
I was asleep before midnight last night, but then woke up at 2.30am feeling odd and trembly with a bit of a headache and churny tum. One of those feelings where you wonder what will happen next. I soon went back to sleep though and didn't wake till past my tablet time so I think it was the remains of a virus. I still feel tired though.
That was good you managed to get to the crem Frank, even though you both had a bad night. I hope you managed to perch somewhere and that Ros's sciatica was bearable for the service. I wish I could still get into the clothes I wore in 2004! lol. I noticed today that the poppies on the lamposts in some of the villages have been fixed high up out of reach of any toerags wanting to rip them down! They must have had problems with them being pulled off last year I think.
The window cleaner turned up while I was at the hairdressers. I did tell him once that if the side gate was locked to just do the front windows. It's what he used to do before discovering he could get round the back! I seem to always be the one that has to tackle these awkward things and the trouble is now, he greets OH like a best friend and stands chatting with him for ages, so requests there to have a word with him fall on deaf ears!! :-S
That's good the trees were just being trimmed Gill and that you are keeping your privacy in the garden. It's a good idea to wash and get the material all ready in advance of you sewing as you will be all ready to do the interesting bit then. I expect you will have to watch Sandra with the sewing machine if she has a go so she keeps her fingers away from the needle. That was the good thing about the old machines with a handle. It will be good for her to learn to do more things if she can. Does she still cook the chicken for you? I hope she's not worried about break ins now.
The last bungalow was sold last summer Mandy, but the chap who bought it started building a seperate garage then which has meant all the deliveries coming down the close. The neighbours said he hadn't applied for planning so we don't know what will happen now. It seems he must have built over part of the turning point in front of his bungalow as well and we were told he is thinking of gating off the part of the close that leads down to his bungalow which means there would be no turning point. Apparently he intends to convert the garage that is built into the bungalow to use for his false teeth business!. :-D
What have you and Lacey been doing today.........baking some cake? I bet they love visiting you. How nice for Colin's sister that she can be in her own home again after being in hospital for a while.
I could do with cleaning the lampshades Jane. I noticed some webs on the bedroom one lying in bed the other morning! I was reading an advert for those Vax cleaners in my magazine yesterday and thought they looked really good. I have the Dyson one which is great, and I use it more than anything else now, but that new Vax one has 45 minutes run time which is far longer than my Dyson. They are so much easier on your back........I think you will love it!! :-)
Mel, you have been busy! I hate the putting away after the shopping too and even when OH helps he puts things in the wrong places. Our shower and bath seem to get mucky as soon you clean them and the shower curtain is hard to get off the popper things to wash it. I shall be more careful about the kind of shower rail we get next time. Are you seeing many hogs now? I always think of you when I see Hedgehogs on anything and is the netting keeping the leaves from falling in your pond?.

No no hogs now and the netting is helping keep the big leaves out of my pond but the beech leaves go through. The Heron was standing on the edge of the pond when I went out to look at the wshing the other day. Oh said to just make a lot of noise to scare it off so thats what I did, I growled at it.
WE have siding glass doors on our shower and they soon get soaped up but my new Karcher window vac is great on it.
We had another big Hornet up the back door tonight while oh was outside having a ciggy. He banged on the door glass and I thought he had seen a hog but he pointed to the window and there it was. He killed it with my shopping bag I was going to put in the car.

Morning all,
We have a cloudy sky this morning so the first grey day for quite a while which means I shan't get on so well. I always seem to get on with things when the sun shines.
I have piles of ironing to do so thats one job for today but I know I shan'nt get through it all as I get fed up after a while unless I really feel like it.

Good morning Mel and all,
We have a very cold Autumn day, heavy dew all over her lawns and car. So I don't think I will get chance to do the lawns.
We had a surprise phone call last night. Could we have "BIGGLES" for the day today.?? They are having their patio cleaned and the chap is using chemicals. They don't want him going out on to the patio in case the chemicals upset his paws. They are going to a BALLET this afternoon also.
We were right at the front when they took the chain down at the crem. so got a seat quite easily.Ros. got a seat against the wall, so was able to lean against it.
Yes Ann I was surprised to get into my suit after all these years, had I not, I would have gone in black trousers, White shirt, black tie, and black leather jacket.
These battery operated vacuums are so good, and easy to manoeuvre , even I can use it. !!!l lol lol.
Great news for Colin's sister being able to come home Mandy. How often will she have to go back for checkups. ??
Put your back into it Mel, The ironing won't do it's self. Do a bit and have a break, then a bit more. Hark at me "Telling a Granny how to suck eggs" That's an old one ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-).
So Mr Grumpy hasn't taken your privacy away then Gill. Will it let more light into your garden.??
No cooking today, we will have some more STEW. It was smashing last night, and I always think it's better the day after. :-D :-D :-D.
Time I got my A@@e into gear, and do some jobs. I'm still trying to make MADAM rest.

Forgot to mention I have volunteered to sell POPPIES at our local Tesco on Monday between Noon and 2.00 pm. Ros will drop me off and pop into Town then pick m up.
Sorry Jane. We were at the THREE COUNTIES CREMATORIUM at Milton Malsor just a few minutes from us.
Ros has been to Morrison's, as she had a voucher that needed spending. She has stocked up on soups, cake, (Madera) my favourite, and a few other bits THREE BAGS FULL. I have no idea we needed everything she has bought. ;-) ;-) ;-) I bet we didn't lol.
Hows the ironing going Mel ?? Finished now ??
The weather is showing signs of cooling down, and getting rather cloudy, so we might see a drop of rain later. It won't bother me, as I am going nowhere.

Afternoon All What a beautiful day it is here. I am back in short sleeves again after having long sleeves this morning . I was boiling. The new Vax arrived just after 7.30 this morning !!!!!!. Chris only ordered it yesterday lunchtime. We have had a go and I think it is going to be good and so much easier. We found a plug behind the kitchen bin where is can hang so it is on charge properly now. Then Chris's new suit arrived and another fascinator for me. Its ok but quite small . I have 4 here now :-S. I am thinking of asking the lady who is doing my jacket if she could make me up something a bit more 'showy' out of the ones I have.
So little Biggles has come to visit again Frank :-D. I bet he will be looking for some nice treats :-D. That was lucky to get decent seats at the Crem . At least Ros was able to have some good support for her back. What chain did they take down? Did you all have to wait behind it and then do a big dash for the best seats? :-D :-D
I picked Fitz up from the garage earlier. He has taken his car in to have his brakes sorted .He is busy today cleaning ,making up beds etc for the onslaught(if that it the right word) of family coming up from Somerset in the morning. I think there will be 11 or 12 actually staying !!!!!. Then feeding wise it is for 17 at the weekend as it will be both Fitz's sons wives and Ottilie. He was getting himself in a right old state with all the jobs he has to get done. I think they might have booked a meal on Sunday at the Chinese Lee Gardens . I know I would be having a fit if I had that many people coming to stay LOL . 2 is enough for me :-D I think I need to get a duster out as the sun is shine on the tv stand thing and it looks like inches of dust on there.
James is off to Gareths Stag weekend tomorrow .. I might have already told you so apologies if I am reapeating myself. There are 17 of them and they will be staying in an old Pub in Bradford on Avon which has been turned into a holiday let. It is called The Plough. Tomorrow night someone is cooking for all. Saturday it is off to a Rugby match. Bath/Harlequins and then a big night out in Bath.Gareth is a massive Rugby Fan . I imagine major hangovers on Sunday morning. Both my Nephews Michel and Matthew are going so at least James will know them and Gareth. I don't think he knows any of Gareths friends. They may will be best buddies after this weekend LOL
My next lot of washing is ready to come out of the machine. I think it will have to be the tumble dryer as its not going ot dry outside now. The stuff I hung out this morning is taking a fair while to dry.

Frank ,that's good of you to volunteer to sell the Poppies . Will you have to stand for the 2 hours? I have seen NO Poppies yet anywhere :-S which is very unusual . Madeira cake :-D. I love that. But not had it for a very long time. I never make cakes these days as there are so many lovely ones to buy .Coffee and Walnut is a good one and Tesco sells a lovely one. If I ever buy one James says it reminds him of Grandma (my Mum) . She made just the best :-D Also Date and Walnut slices :-D. Washing in now but not totally dry so just finishing off in the dryer.
There have been some very pretty Cirrus clouds .They looked so lovely against the blue sky.

Afternoon all
Cloudy here now after a sunny start to the day. We watered all our pot plants this morning as we haven't had much in the way of rain for a while and they were all drying out, so that job is out of the way now.
Pleased to see you both managed to get a seat at the crem Frank, hope Ros was okay and not in to much pain. Yes, I was wondering if you're going to be standing for the two hours you are selling the poppies at Tesco's on Monday. With Mr Grumpy only taking a few branches off at almost ground level on the conifers, it hasn't made any difference in our garden where light is concerned. Our back gardens are North facing so with the conifers being down the bottom of the garden it doesn't effect the light coming in.
4 Fascinators Jane, that's a lot, hopefully the lady will be able to make you one big one out of them all. I'd love to see it when it's done. So James is off to Gareth's stag weekend, it'll be nice for him to meet Gareth's friends before the big day. It sounds like they're all going to have a great time.
So no ironing today in the end then Mel, never mind there's always tomorrow.
It sounds a bit crazy in your close Ann with the new neighbour building a garage without planning permission and wanting to gate off the end of the close. Can he actually do that? I've noticed a few cobwebs about so will have to get my feather duster out and get rid of them. I still haven't started the insulation in the spare bedroom yet, I was going to do it today but OH said he woke up with a bad headache and I need help to do the job, so it looks like it might be next week now as OH is out at his mates tomorrow, unless he feels up to it over the weekend. Luckily we don't use that room, so there's no rush.
Just watching Don't Tell The Bride with Sandra, some men haven't got a clue have they? I recorded Father Of The Bride which we've just watched, I love that film. I like Father Of The Bride 2 as well, it's so funny and Steve Martin is such a good actor, so hopefully that'll be on TV soon then we can watch that one too.

Jan and Ella have not long gone. They are staying with Kerry tonight, and will take Kerry and Alexander back to Devon until Tuesday, when they will meet Mark at Bristol for him to bring Kerry and Alexander back to Welson (CORBY).
I hop you haven't left glue all over the ironing board Mel. I don't want you all STUCK UP. !!!
The lads are going to have one BIG Booze up over the weekend Jane, thy won't want to be too drunk if thy have to drive home on Sunday. I hope they have a wonderful time. I am sure like me, it wouldn't be Chris's sort of weekend. We old un's can't stand the pace anymore.
Ros is going to Choir this evening. She says she feels well enough to go. I will have control of the T.V. I have recorded her soaps for later.
The ctew is warming through nicely, and should be ready any time soon.

Frank I reckon they will all be as drunk as skunks on Saturday night .As you say they need to be sober to drive home again on the Sunday. They probably won't leave there until the afternoon so hopefully they will all be safe by then.(they better be). Chris is reallt pleased he declined to attend :-D :-D. Larry said no too. I am just not sure if Gareths Dad is going !.
Gill I watched don't tell the Bride this morning . Was it the one of the Pixie Day ??? I felt so sorry for the Bride. Her husband just thought about himself and not her. She looked so miserable :-(. Who would want to arrive at Church on a Mobility Scooter in the wedding dress she hated !!!!!!...Saying that .they know they have handed all control over to the man so should not be too shocked :-D They are taking such a massive risk leaving it hands of the Lads !!!
I will take a pic of the fascinators Mel. They are all just small things .I don't do BIG

Evening All,
Yes, I'd like to see a pic of the fascinators too Jane. When you said you would see if they could combine the 4 you have, I had this mental picture of you wearing a feather duster!! lol. Seriously though it isn't a bad idea and would be a good way to get it just how you want.
The Stag weekend sounds like a good do and chance for everyone to get to know each other. I'm afraid I wouldn't have had the stamina for these bigger events, even when I was young. lol. It won't be long before the wedding now will it.
I wonder what happened to your hogs Mel? With everything you laid on for their comfort it's odd they haven't come back. Is it Badgers that can kill them? I hope there isn't any glue on the ironing board. Was it your craft you were using the glue for?
We have spent most of the afternoon in the hospital eye clinic for OH's appointment. He would have gone on his own but needed me to drive him home with having drops in his eyes. Also they may have done more lasering. Boy it was sweltering in there and not one window in the place. You never know which clinic you will be at until you get to reception and inevitably each time it is the one much further away. My left knee was playing up today and really didn't need it. I tried walking up the garden using one of my my Nordic poles as a walking stick this morning to see if it would help, but it didn't make any difference and in fact got in the way! lol. Yet tonight my knee feels a lot better so I don't know what to make of it. Anyway, hubby's eyes look stable for now but he has to go back in a month. They said again that he was a challenging case and that they fully expected to have to do surgery on his eye. They think he may always have the whooshing across the bottom of his eye, but say his brain will adapt and lessen the effect! By tonight his eyes were ok to go to his meeting.
Gill our garden is very dry again now. I think the wind we had that was quite warm has done it. Good idea to have a break from doing the insulation. You will come back to it feeling fresher then. :-)
Good for you and I expect you will have a seat for your poppy selling Frank. I think you may have to wrap up warm though as it's supposed to be getting colder isn't it. I haven't seen any for sale round here yet either.

Morning all
It's been raining here today, typical after watering all the plants yesterday, never mind a bit more water shouldn't do them any harm. It's quite warm out there at the moment which I'm surprised with as I thought it was suppose to be cold. I bet it'll be freezing later now I've said that ;-)
So your OH might need an op on his eye after all Ann, if he does I hope it goes well for him. I'm feeling better now after a horrible week so might make a start on the insulation tomorrow. Today I'm going to trim around the material I was given as it's frayed, then iron it ready for Sandra and I to make something with it.
How was your day with Biggles yesterday Frank, I bet you had fun with him? Did Ros enjoy her evening out at the choir, pleased to see she felt well enough to go.
I got a reply from a message I sent about my family tree FIVE YEARS AGO and can I find the person in my tree......can I heck, so I've asked if I can see her tree in the hope it might help. Because it was so long ago I can't remember who she was. I can't work out why she's not on my tree though......very strange :-S :-S

Good morning all,
Roa didn't go to Choir in the end. She wasn't feeling that well, so decided to have another week off.
I think I will be inside Tesco's at the end of the checkouts, so shouldn't be cold. I have been asked to wear any RAF things I might have, to show I am an X serviceman. I can't see me doing that, I will feel totally out of place. Just a dark suit, collar and tie should be sufficient, WHAT DO YOU THINK. ??
Yet again we had a shower of rain last night, so the lawns are too wet for cutting. At this rate, they won't get their last cut this year.
Conrad rang last night to see how Ros got on at he hospital. I didn't realise that she might need more STENTS in the side of her heart that the MRI showed, that is on he side of the heart that couldn't be seen, when she had the others fitted. I don't know how well I have explained that, but I hope you understand.
We have another clear blue sky day here. with very little wind, but it looks cold, which was forecast.
It's good that your OH eyes are getting the O,K, from the hospital Ann. It's getting old that does it lol lol. I have to go again in a couple of months, for my checkup.
We have our FLU JABS tomorrow morning at 10.57 am, how precise is that. I bet we will be late being called in.
Jane depending how much the driver drinks the alcohol level could well still be high the next afternoon. I would recommend they have a designated driver for he drive home. that way, all will be safe and sound. Old mans advice again. lol lol
Time for something to eat, then my shower. See you later xxx

Morning all,
I see you have been busy posting again.
As to the question about the ironing board and doing my craft on it. Its in the back uti room which is south facing so plenty of light in there and I do the glueing in there as I have the plug for the iron handy. On the top of the board I put one of those craft boards so no getting glue on the actual board. I also have a cover on it anyway. I could'nt get the wings right yesterday so hope I shall have more luck today. I made 6 little wigs yesterday and they took me ages. I thought this was going to be a quick project but its turning out not to be.
Woke to lovely sunshine and quite a high wind but over to the north there were grey clouds and now as I sit here we have rain. :-|
I keep thinking today is Saturday but my pill box tells me its Friday.
I must remember to get a birthday card for Sam next door as he is having his party this weekend but I think I will save his present till the 14th so he can have it on his proper Birthday. I still have to find something for oh for his birthday on the 6th. Why are men so hard to buy for?
Sods law as you watered your plants it should rain today Gill but the rain will give them a lovely drink much better than the hose.

Afternoon All Mel I too keep thinking it is Saturday. It's only because James is here I think. He will be gone on the next few hours. I probably will need ot get him ot get a move on as I am sure the Motorways and roads will be busy today and it is a long journey. Frank there can be no designated driver for coming home as he will be on his own. I just hope they are all sensible !!!!.
Maybe this is the reason Ros is still not feeling well Frank if she is needing more stents. When will she know for sure if she has to go back in? You will look just fine and Dandy without any medals or ribbons on your jacket.I hope people put a lot of money in your collection tin.
5 years is a long time for someone to get back to you about their tree Gill !! I wonder who it is :-D. Lots of sun here so far today but there are lots of fast moving clouds which seem to be building up a bit. There was a tiny shower just now but it came to nothing. I don't normally watch that programme Don't tell the Bride. Just when I come across it.I always think though that the Brides must expect things to not go their way so they shouldnt be too surprised at the outcome :-D. I did feel cross though when that lad and his friends all went off to Benidorm for the Stag and just sent the girls to Torquay ...with no transport !!!!.
So another long wait at the hospital for you Ann.I suppose the good thing though is that OH seems not be be needing any op any time soon and things hopefully will setlle with the 'whooshing'.That must feel very weird for him. As long as his eyes are good enough for him to be able to keep driving . How is your knee today? Walking down all those long corridors at the hospital won't have helped.I always take my flappy fan when I go to the hospital as I just find the heat unbearable.I always think it can't be good for the patients on the wards with it always being so hot. Bugs thrive :-S
I will send pics of the fascinators. They are all small. Feather duster Ann :-D :-D. You never know. This afternoon I will be having a good go with the new Vax . Its fully charged . Not that I will be vaccuming for 45mins !!!.
