Frank Report 28 Oct 2018 12:59

Afternoon all,

Never two nights the same. !!! I had a night of clock watching and was up at 5.00 am. Then I put the kettle on and realised I hadn't put the clocks back. Too late to go back to bed as I was wide awake. So sat with cups of tea and reading my book, until Tony bought the paper. In the mean time I did the VEG for dinner, and put the meat on the dish ready for the oven. Yorkshire pudding and cheese sauce made.

I opened the oven, only to find the last bit of apple crumble and custard still there from Friday evening. That got thrown away, and the dish and saucepan washed up. The saucepan that I used for the stew still had a bit in it, so that went down the toilet, and the saucepan washed.

The "BOYS" looked like they got off to a good start Jane, all dolled up like hat. Gawd knows what people thought, but it was their day after all. lol lol

Since Ros's heart attack she has been given more medication, she now takes around TWENTY TABLETS morning and night. She is sitting there now, sorting them into her daily box's. Some of which she can't get in.

Ann, you and G have a really good laugh with each other over different things. I liked the tummy one. lol lol. I bet he though he was a BRASS MONKEY being out in the cold yesterday. I know we were glad to get back home after own flu jabs. That wind could take your ears off.!!

I just remembered, when Jan called in last week, she mentioned that they would be getting us home after Christmas ,before the NEW YEAR. We always stay for new year, so it would imply they don't want us for new year. So we will get tickets for the Mothers Club do, at the Village hall. I would have thought if they were having a party with her relatives, we would have been included. :-P :-P :-P

Roa bought me new slippers again yesterday as I am walking on he side of my right foot and ruined the slipper. She also bought me new BRACES as the ones I have keep "pinging,"off the back of my trousers, and they star to fall down. ;-) ;-) ;-)

I think I will have a coffee and biscuit , as we won't be eating until late. See you all later xxx

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 28 Oct 2018 15:57

O Frank we can't have your trousers falling down now can we? You mind you don't fall over in the new slippers as if the soles are not worn you may find you catch them on things. <3

I have just spent the last 25 minuets looking for my chop sticks to do some craft. I hav'nt done the angels yet but fancied doing something else. Could I find them and I know I moved them this morning. Well I just ordered another lot and as I sat here at my desk I glanced down and there they were poking out from a piece of paper I moved this morning too.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I am going senile. :-|

Evening All
I have had a busy day out aoround the shops with Hannah and now doing a Roast.
Not sure how much James will eat !.He is feeling a bit fragile LOL . Not only because of the Stag do which he said went really well but he has got the most dreadful cold and cough again. He was starting to go down with it before he went off for the weekend.
The place that was rented for the do was brilliant . He shared a room with his Cousin Matthew.I think there will be 17 young men tonight havign very early nights before work again tomorrow :-D

Yes Ann Gareths Dad was there and dressed up. He is in Green I think second fro mthe right in that pic with the biggest moustache upside down. The one bending down beside Gareth is Michel and Matthew is the tall one on the left . James said his 'moustache ' wouldn't stick to his .

Gill I hope your Mum is ok after her Gall Bladder op and that she will soon be on the mend again. Its good both you and your Sister can help out with things for now until she is feeling well again.

We have the fire lit !!.Its a bit pongy but I think it is just what the chap used to clean it out when it was serviced.Im sure next time we light it it will be much better. Its getting a bit warm in here now though :-S ,and what with the oven on too I will be searching out my fan soon :-D
The Turkey joint is smelling scrummy. Maybe this is why Thomas has come in :-D Also he probably thinks is later that it is with the clocks going back. Yes we remembered Mel. Its good with all this modern stuff these days we dont need to reset the all the various things as they automatically do it.

I will not be around tomorrow until later in the day. Hannah has the Dentist first thing and then it is off to Stamford to the Wedding Dress shop. Chris is coming too. Not to the shop but he will have a coffee somewhere and then the 3 of us will have some lunch at The George .Hannah will leave us sometime in the afternoon to drive back to London. I probably wont see her again then until the HEN DO on the 24th Nov.

Janice goes back to hospital tomorrow for he knee manipulation . I must give her a quick call now. Chris had to walk out of the room just now as he got all tearful watching Counrtyfile Children in Need. :-(

Evening All,

It's been chilly here today! We soon had the heating on when we got back from lunch. I slept so well last night I wasn't convinced the clock had updated itself in the night and had to put the bedroom telly on to check. I think I need the clocks to give me an extra hour every night! :-)

Gill I hope your mum is doing well after her operation. Gall stones are very unpleasant and painful. and she will be glad they are gone. It's handy she isn't too far away for you and your sister to help if needed.

Lunch at The George will be very nice Jane. OH has been there for meetings and lunch but I haven't, well not yet! It sounds like they enjoyed themselves at the stag do. I hope Janice's knee manipulation is doing the trick. I imagine it must get stiff after though.

Speaking of slippers I need to do something about mine that are only a few weeks old. I really like them; they are lilac backless Padders ones and they have grey fur inside, but they keep moulting!!!! Like Thomas they are getting fur all over the carpets, all my black socks have grey tabby stripes, it's all in the bed off my feet and it gets on my jeans when I put them on. Even OH is getting it on his socks!! I'm going to try hoovering them inside with the nozzle tomorrow and see if that helps. I've never had it happen with any other slippers. Yes Frank, watch you don't trip in yours. I have to test the soles aren't too slippy on any I buy now since I had a pair that moved like ice skates on our hard floors. That's an awful lot of tablets Ros has to take now. It might be worth getting the bigger pill boxes you can get online. I hope you've managed to get your trousers back under control with the new braces! lol. At the mention of braces I always think of a lovely West Indian chap I used to work with. He always wore a black suit and white shirt with scarlet braces.....he was quite a character.

Mel I think we are all getting the same. OH got out of the car 3 times to check he had locked the front door the other day. I still wonder where I put that flash stick!!! :-S How many Angels are you going to make?

Oh I did love Pasha and Ashley's Charleston last night! Just watched it again on Youtube. Better go and watch some recordings with OH now.

Gillx Report 28 Oct 2018 21:47

Evening all

Boy it's cold out there, I emptied the bin and was freezing when I came back in.

So you have new slippers then Frank and new braces to. Who's a lucky boy lol.

It sounds like your slippers are a nightmare Ann, I don't blame you for wanting some different ones. OH had socks like that and I was forever cleaning all the bits up off everything. A few washes soon sorted them out. Could your slippers be washed, it might solve the problem if they can?

Sorry to hear James isn't well Jane, I hope he feels better soon. Hope all goes well for Janice too.

Thanks for all your kind words about mum. I went to see her today and took her some flowers, but unfortunately she started on me again. I don't know why she can be so mean. I was so upset I came home. My sister is going to hers tomorrow so she can get her shopping. I don't know why my mum picks on me, I was saying to OH before that I've never heard her say anything nasty to, or about, my sister. It's like she's the golden child and I'm the black sheep of the family. I'm expecting my sister to come around tomorrow to have a go at me as mum always makes out I'm in the wrong, when she is, so my sister shouts at me. Luckily I'm out tomorrow so if she does call around I won't be here. I wish my mum would tell the truth and stop causing me grieve all the time. It's not fair. I only went around to give her some flowers and see how she was, I wish I hadn't bothered now.

On a positive Sandra is a happy bunny, OH and I took her out to buy a bird feeder, it's now in pride of place in the garden and full of all sorts of goodies for the birds. Hopefully they won't take to long to find it. If the ground freezes at least the birds will have something to eat, there's even a section for water so they can have a drink, so long as it doesn't freeze in the cold weather. I was a bit concerned the squirrel might take all the food so I put lots of Vaseline on the pole, so with a bit of luck it won't be able to climb up to the food. At least Sandra will have a laugh watching him slip down the pole if he tries lol :-D :-D

I've put some nuts on the bird table Sandra made with her dad for the squirrel, that one is further down the garden away from the feeder we bought today.

Morning Frank and all,

O dear Frank I hope its ok was it really deep? Are you going to have it seen to?

Heavy frost here this morning but the sun has nearly burnt it all off now except places it has'nt reached yet. The sky is blue blue blue and not a cloud in sight.

Oh's birthday present arrives today. Its his birthday and Christmas present.

Must get on as I went to bed early last night and got up late this morning.

Frank

Frank Report 29 Oct 2018 11:25

Still changing plasters reogularry. Still pumping blood. Feel a little faint, really could do without going out, but I don't want to let anyone down.

Ros is having to help me with cufflinks, as I have got blood on cuffs. Hope it won't show when I have my jacket on.

Speak later.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 29 Oct 2018 12:24

Get some ice on it Frank. I have to go out to Mole Valley for chicken food and some insulation for the pipes outside the kitchen as they are not done since we painted the bungalow. Its north facing and we don't want any burst pipes if we can help it.

See you later.

OH reckons it is perishing today, but I went out without wanting my coat, just my thin cardi! There was a free book offer with the Telegraph today, so we popped to W H Smith to collect that for him then got some bits and bobs from the supermarket.

Our local paper is full of the helicopter crash at the football ground in the city. It was so lucky no-one else was injured. The new ground has waste land around it and the canal nearby. If it had been at the old ground there were houses all around.

Gill, I know where you are coming from as there was never any pleasing my mum who would say the most mean, hurtful things too. Nothing I did was ever enough and she couldn't rely on my sister (her own words) so she got away with doing very little. You can't change someone else, so try not to let it upset you, which isn't easy I know. Have you decided what to make with that pretty material yet? I think I am going to try washing the slippers as you suggest.

Mel, thank you for reminding me......we need to put the cover on our outside tap! I hope your pipes are nice and snug in the insulation now. :-)

That sounds like a nasty cut Frank. I hope it stopped bleeding before you went out or it would have been very awkward.

We have fireworks going off around here now as it's Diwali. I thought there might be some where the Sikh family have moved into the new house, but OH reminded me it is Hindus that celebrate Diwali.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 29 Oct 2018 18:00

Back and got the bits and bobs oh needed and my girls food and a few more bits for oh for Christmas and a nice big gammon steak.

Hav'nt put the lagging on yet but I bought 9 pieces so there should be enough for most of the pipes we have around the house and up the top on the potting sheds outside tap.

Its funny tonight with it getting dark so early. I must remember to get up early and get out shopping early as I want to do Lidl and Morrisons tomorrow.

Not sure what to do tonight for dinner now. I had a one slice ham sandwich when I got back and a little jaffa cake thing and then a couple of ginger nuts so you can imagine I am not at all hungry.

I do need to go and do some ironing now as I need a nice clean polo neck shirt for going out tomorrow and I must do a couple of t shirts for oh perhaps then I can get back to my Angels as the other silver crepe came today which I needed for their wings.

I tried to watch the new series on bbc 1 last night but could'nt get into it so I shan't be watching that anymore.

Evening all,

It seems ages since i posted but we have had the girls here so you can imagine they kept us busy and i haven't turned the computer on so there are lots of posts to catch up on .

Frank i hope the finger has stopped bleeding ,your not the only one to cut his finger today Colin cut his in two places ,he came in dripping blood all over the floor so he's now all plastered up goodness knows how he did it .

So your OH has his birthday present already then Mel was he pleased with what ever it is ?
I loved the little Angels ,what are the wings made out of ?

Jane i liked all the Fascinators as they are but i'm sure she will be able to make one up for you that you will be happy with .
I loved all the Mario's :-D :-D and the bride looked good too :-D
Was it the last fitting for Hannah's dress today ? the time will go so quickly and it will be the wedding day before you know it .

Oh dear Gill it must hurt when your mum talks to you like that ,i hope she has come round a bit and your on speaking terms again ,it must upset Sandra too .
I bet Sandra has been glued to the new bird feeder trying to see all the birds that come into the garden .

Ann i think OH is right it is perishing out there ,it didn't seem to bad first thing as we did have a little sun but this afternoon it really turned cold .
That Helicopter crash was awful when i first heard about it i thought it had come down in the football ground but then i saw the photo's of it on a bit of open ground.
We've heard a few fireworks ,i suppose we'll hear more over the next week or so ,thankfully Max doesn't seem that bothered by them .

Evening All
Two chopped fingers today !!!! Whats going on?? I hope there won't be a third.
Frank are you on blood thinners? Yours seemed ot bleed so badly for so long. I didn't like it when you said you were feeling faint !. That sounds a bit worrying. Was it today you were doing the collection? I wonder what OH did to make his finger bleed like that Mandy !!. These men need to take more care :-D. So you might have a bit of time to yourselves now Mandy now Half Term is over. It must be exhausting. I know how Janice and Larry feel LOL

Oh Gill I am so sorry that your Mum was so horrible to you and after you taking some lovely flowers and offering to help out with the shopping and housework. I do hope your Sister hasn't done the same. You just concentrate on you OH and Sandra for now. I know this has happened before and how much it upset you.It is a real shame :-(

So a surprise Birthday/Xmas Pressie for OH then Mel. Are you going to let us in on the surprise ?

That Helicoptor Crash was just dreadful Anne. Just a catastrophic failure by the sound of things. How dreadfully sad for all the family and the fans too as it sounds as though this man has done so much for Leicester .Just a very very sad thing :-(

We did the trip to the wedding shop this morning . Just another tweak to do on the shoulder straps. Hannah brought the veil back so she can take it to the hairdresser when she has a trial style. The funny thing was when she put the dress on in the shop she had to explain the big bruises she has on the top of her arms. Hannah goes to Boxing Classes and did some really strenuous exercises the other day which has left her looking a bit battered .It almost looks as though she has been gripped by someones hands . I have told her she needs to ease off on that a bit now as it won't be a good look on the big day :-D. We went for a lovely lunch with Chris at The George. Ann I saw a man there who I really thought was your OH !!!!!!. He looked so much like him I almost said hello !!!!. Hannah asked me why I was looking at this man ,so I had to explain you said OH had been there several times before and I really thought it was him :-D :-D
I would have made a right fool of myself if I had gone up and aid Hello G ! But honestly he was OH's double.

My poor Sister still hadn't gone down to theatre at 5.30 !!!!!!.Larry will ring me again later to let me know of any update. I thought he was ringing to say it was all done and she was back in her room. He said because she is staying in overnight they were dong all the day cases first. She has been waiting there since 11.30 :-S

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 29 Oct 2018 21:54

That's good that is over for her ,fancy keeping her waiting all that time I hope she's not in to much pain and she can soon get more movement in her knee .

My BIL goes in on Thursday for his new knee although the surgeon said he didn't know what he will do until he opens the knee up ,any sign of infection and it will mean another filler .

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 29 Oct 2018 23:23

I'm glad its over now for Janice and she has less pain now after the other op. What a long while to wait though. She must have been going out of her mind waiting all that time. Sending her my love and wishes. <3 When you speak to her tell her I was thinking about her please. x

I bought oh a long handled pruner. Its about 9 foot high and you can make it lower if you want. It has a little chain saw on the end at an angle and it runs off a rechargable battery so is not too heavy. It has a shoulder strap but he never uses one of those with any of his strimmers or long reach clippers etc. I will send a pic in the morning if I have time if not it will be in the evening or the next day.

Annx

Annx Report 30 Oct 2018 02:36

Morning All,

Poor Janice having to wait so long. You can't relax when you are anticipating it's your turn every time someone comes to your bedside. Hopefully she will have. a more mobile knee that will improve now.

Ha ha Jane.........fancy you seeing OH's double at the George! I told him and now he reckons it wasn't the George he went to but another old place there he can't remember the name of!!!!! I'm still sure it was the George though!!! I bet H is glad her dress is nearly ready now. What is the groom wearing?

Mandy it sounds like the children would have kept you all on the go........including Max!!! Lol I bet they are looking forward to Halloween, then bonfire night. Fancy Colin cutting himself as well as Frank.

Mel your OH's present sounds good and should make things easier for him. It's good it runs off a battery as well so you don't need cables.

We are going to Rutland to the garden centre with the woodburners in the restaurant and the excellent Christmas displays this morning. They have a great gift section too.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 30 Oct 2018 09:35

Morning Ann and all,

Cold and frosty morning here once again with plenty of sunshine and a clear blue sky.

I member you sending us a pic of that resurant Ann. Have a lovely day there and I hope you find some gifts too. Yes we only have one thing that has a cable to it and thats the electric hedge trimmer he bought this year to do the box hedge. You can't have cables running across our huge garden and up in the top garden it would be much too much work. The saw has a 60 min charge time so plenty of breaks to keep him happy and he can do a bit as he feels like it. All I can say is there is going to be one hell of a bonfire somewhere in the garden as its sooooooooo overgrown now. Nothing like when you visited as the trees are showing well above the wall and you know how tall that is.

Must get on as I have to let the girls out yet and the bantams water came out last night as it would have frozen. I have just filled it up so have to take it down there.

Frank

Frank Report 30 Oct 2018 10:51

Good morning you early birds, and all,

What a surprise I had last night. I went to put something in the BLUE BIN last night, as it's bin day today. What did I find on the door step "A BABY HEDGEHOG " I made a cover for it out of a cardboard box, fed him, and covered the whole thing in an old towel. Roa looked in before she cam to bed, and he was still there. He had gone this morning as was the bowl of food ;-) ;-) ;-) So he went away with a full belly . Bless Him. I would have thought he would have been asleep for the winter.

They do say, we all have a DOUBLE somewhere. So you found Gs. then Jane. I please that everything is going along fine for Hannah, and the wedding arrangements. Won't be long now. Each Christmas when Conrad and Jan were in business in Uppingham, he would take us to the George at Stamford. The food was always top quality.

So Colin is in competition with me then Mandy. What did he do ?? Is it healing, I still have a plaster on my finger , which is a nuisance, as I keep wanting to use it, even though I am left handed.

Mel, that sounds a great present for OH. We have a battery operated G TECH hedge trimmer , and a manual lopper with a saw attachment , which will be useful when we Prune the apple tree.

Gill, I think we are all in the same boat when it comes to MOTHER'S TOUNGE I thought I was the perfect SON at seventeen. I nursed my father for 18 months with Cancer, Gave her my two BONUS'S each summer and Christmas, as well as my weekly housekeeping. My DAD was in lots of pain, and got relief from BRANDY which I bought, as he wanted it,All my savings were used on them. When i came to me getting married the first time, she stood at her bedroom window SHOUTING Obscenities at me as I walked up my Garden path, to get in a friends car to go to the church.
After my divorce and meeting Ros. My mother was on the phone to Ros asking when we were getting married. When we set a date we went to her house and told her. Once again she turned abusive towards me. I walked out and never saw her again until the day before she died. SORRY FOLKS. Needed to get that off my chest.

I am in a complete dilemma. I am sure that one person at the British Legion poppy sale, that I was at yesterday was PALMING TWO POUND COINS, into his pocket. I couldn't confront him, as he was the eldest son of the woman who runs it every year. He would be about 55 years of age. I am going to tell a friend who also helps out to keep an eye on him. He might have more courage than me, to do something about it.

It seems I am having problems, which I feel I can share with you all.
