Afternoon Everyone What a glorious day it is after a very frosty start. Total blue sky and so warm in the sunshine. I have had my finger cyst done .Just have a small dressing on it now which I need to keep dry for a while. I got the Nurse to hold my arm down and I held my wrist down tightly when the Dr did the injections so I couldnt suddenly yank my arm back with that dreadful stinging of the local going in. I think it will probably still come back again . It was Feb 2017 when I had it done last time.
I hope Ros can get somewhere in finding out why she keeps getting these water infections Frank and they can do something about it. There has to be a cause.
Ann is it the Steroid injection you will have in your knee? I do hope it helps .I think they inject it right into the joint? I bet you will be pleased with anything that will help with the pain.
Mandy ,how is BIL today after his op? No doubt in pain but hopefully it has all gone to plan and the Antibiotics will clear any sign of infection. Lets hope there is none .
Mel muddy eggs :-D I can just picture them. Maybe with this lovely sunshine things will dry out and you will get no more muddy ones. It sounds a lovely display of Poppies in Holsworthy.People put a great deal of work into these wonderful displays.
I need a spot of lunch now . Cold Chicken ,Avocado and Tomato will do me with a bit of Coleslaw :-D

Pleased to see you've had your finger cyst done now Jane, hope it doesn't come back again, that's the last thing you want or need.
I forgot to mention earlier about your knee Ann, hope the injection works and you can get about more easily then.

ARTANOON ALL. (COCKNEY). Feel in a silly mood for some unknown reason. Being on my own all the time, must have some effect on me. lolo
Ann, I had one on those injections in my thumb. for the Arthritis "Touch wood" I haven't had any pain since. I hope I am not tempting fate. So I hope your knee behaves itself.
I think I would have told the shop what to do with their Fridge/freezer if they wanted to charge me for taking the old one away. Most places do it for FREE. !!!
Healthy lunch for you then Jane. I had a corn beef roll with pickle and a coffee.
Ros is doing a Leek pie tonight, The pork and leeks are all cooked ready to go in the pie dish, and put the pastry on. I did the SPUDS earlier.
I have had a nice quiet afternoon with my book. It's called THE FOREST and is really a great read, I will let you know the Author, in case anyone would like to read it. LOTS OF HISTORY. It's on my Kindle, but I am sure it will be available in Proper book form.
Just realised how dark it's getting. I have just put on the table lamps.
Roa isn't back from Hospital yet. I bet she and Carolyn had called in somewhere on the way home. Her appointment was at 2.30 .

Apologies for posting, but I just want to thank Frank for putting me onto this book which I have just ordered. I would never had known about it but for your post, so again many thanks! Frank, have you read 'SARUM'? It's by the same author, full of history and a brilliant read. Details (of course!!) on Google!! I don't think you'd be disappointed!!

LOL Gill. OH was having a clumsy day :-D.. Were his boots ruined or able ot be just wiped off? . So your new F/F arrives on Tuesday. That lovely just in time to stock it up for Xmas :-D :-D. £20 to take away your 2 seems a bit steep. I know a lot of places do charge but many will remove for free. I know Curry's have never charged. At least OH can take them to the tip so they wont be left hanging around.
Frank you sound in fine fettle today :-D.. Makes you feel good doesnt it. Ros has been gone ages. I bet she has been spending after her hospital appointment. There is something in this house that is making my throat funny and my face hot
:-S.

turned cold here tonight so I think there may be another frost tonight.
Spent most of the afternoon putting things away, ironing from the uti room and had a look about for things for my next project.
I got the big girls cleaned out before lunch so that was a good job out of the way. Cut some twigs from the garden when I dumped the muck round by the little wood so that saved me a trip later. Then I washed the coat and hat I had had on as I always feel a bit mitey when I have been inside the chicken house. Did one lot of washing this morning so I think I have had quite a prductive day really.
I do hope Ann's injection in her knee works as well as it seems to have done for Frank's thumb. If it does there will be no stopping her going for nice walks and taking us some more of her lovely pictures.
Oh said he would have toasted cheese sandwiches tonight but I don't knw what to have????? I don't really like toasted cheese sarnies at night because they make me so thirsty and then I go to bed with a dry mouth. I may have bacon and egg I think. Bacon always goes down well and I will just hope that dos'nt make me thirsty.

Mel I am thinking of having Eggs too tonight.Maybe just boiled eggs and toast . I have Bacon in the fridge but cant be faffed to make a dirty pan or grill.I had a good lunch too so am not really hungry. I will see to the men and then decide.James wil be off for the weekend later. He has Cajun Chicken and Sweet Potato Chips and Chris has got a Curry.
Janice rang just now and said she has had to go back on the Oramorph as her Physiotherapy is too painful with the painkillers she has already. She needs this stronger one to make it easier for to actually cope with all the pulling around of the knee that the Physio has to do. Her son Matthew and wife Kelsey are going to stay with her this weekend so she is really looking forward to seeing them.I am sure it will cheer her up.
Not too many firework bangs this evening .Tomorrow will be the big one with Wicksteed Parks do. All the poor animals will be shaking in their boots :-S :-(

I think it will be a steroid injection Jane and thank you Frank for mentioning it worked for your thumb. <3 I imagine it will hurt a bit when they do it, but hey it hurts anyway! Yes Mel, I'm on a very short lead at the moment and if it helps I shall be able to do so much more and be off taking more photos like you say. I haven't even done any of the voluntary stuff at the hospital this year. I do feel sorry for Janice. It must be awful knowing you have to have the physio, but know it will cause you such pain.I hope the stronger painkiller is helping.
I forgot to mention that when I was at the docs she also checked me over, which which meant me stripping off. When it came to getting dressed again, which I wanted to do quickly as she was running late, I couldn't see my PANTS!!! I looked inside my jeans and gave them a good shake in case they were stuck inside a leg but no they weren't. I was in a panic and debating whether to just go 'commando' as I couldn't see them where I lay down or underneath the bed thing. Then I thought how embarrassing it would be if the next patient came across them!! lol I wouldn't be able to show my face (or anything else next time I went). In the end I pulled the chair they were supposed to be on forward and they had somehow fallen off the back and slipped over the bin that was behind it.
I'd forgotten you were having your cyst done today Jane. I expect it will be a bit sore for a day or two but it's good to have got rid of it in time for the wedding.
Gill, you will be off food shopping to stock up your new fridge and freezer after Tuesday then! I have a feeling we had to pay when they took our old washer away. That book on birds you got for Sandra sounds just the thing for her. She is really enjoying seeing the different birds isn't she. Your OH had quite a day yesterday with his accidents. I bet he was wondering what would happen to him next.
Mel the bantam chicks sounded even lovelier than I could have imagined........big bumble bees. :-) I hope the big girls are drier now.........I can remember wiping eggs from mum's chickens when they had muddy feet. The memorial sounded lovely with all the poppies. I think everywhere is making a big effort this year because it is 100 years. I bet it will carry on in the future now as well.

I've never known Curry's charge before to take items away but now they charge £20 for the freezer and another £20 for the fridge, we'd already spent quite a lot buying them and getting a five year guarantee, which is why OH decided to take them to the tip himself.
Yes, he did have an accident prone day yesterday, like I said we could do with a pub called HUSBANDS CRECHE where he could of gone while Sandra and I did the shopping. Luckily Jane, his boots were fine, but he just stood there staring at the spillage on the floor, not realising he was standing in it, I had to tell him to move, he said it was the shock of what had happened. I wonder what it is in your house that's making you feel that way, I hope you're feeling better now Sorry to hear about Janice, it sounds like she's in quite a bit of pain, hope she feels better soon, it'll be nice for her to have her son and his wife staying with her.
I only have one bag of sausage rolls and a loaf of bread in the freezer now, so I'll defrost it ready for OH to throw away before Monday then I'm looking forward to filling up the two new ones next week. I bought a fridge with an ice compartment at the top so next time the freezer needs defrosting we don't need to eat everything in there, I can put a few small things in the top of the fridge until the freezer is ready to be used again. It'll be like having a second little freezer. I'm surprised they could deliver so quickly, but pleased so I can now fill it up with goodies for Christmas.
How embarrassing would that of been if you hadn't of found your pants Ann, pleased you found them in the end.....I bet you were too ;-) ;-)

Morning all,
Very strange I had to sign in this morning to be able to get a box up to write in. I hav'nt had to sign in for ages.
Much duller here today with grey sky all around. No glimps of the sun at all. It seems funny to wake up to no sun when its been there for days now.
Up the shop this morning for the paper and the egg delivery. They have been laying well this week and I have two dozen for Em today. It has been one dozen for two weeks running.

Morning all
Dull and cloudy here today I think we're in for some rain later.
OH and I are going for our flu jabs later so that has put paid to me starting the insulation in the spare room as we want to defrost the freezer this afternoon so OH can take it down the tip tomorrow and I want to bake the sausage rolls that are in there, so no time to do the insulation today. We've just been putting some new plants in the border down the bottom so that looks better now. It's so easy when everything is in pots and only took us about half an hour to complete the job.
Pleased to see you had a good nights sleep last night Frank, you'll feel much better for it now. How is Ros today?
That's a lot of eggs Mel, I bet they taste much better than shop bought ones, Em will be pleased with those.
Going to get a cuppa, then get ready for going out. I need to buy something for tomorrow's roast to, I haven't got anything in the freezer now.

Afternoon All Ann were they Bridget Jones pants :-D. Thank goodness you found them !!!!!. I can just imagine what a panic you were in. At least they werent stuck in a leg of your jeans. You could have just put the jeans on walked out and then found them hanging out the bottom :-D :-D
Good to see Mel you are getting lots of eggs now. It wasnt that long ago you were only getting a couple. I remember your eggs you gave Janice and Me. They were lovely.
Another good sleep for you Frank. How many nights in a row now? It makes such a difference getting a full nights sleep. I too slept like a log. Probably because I didnt have Thomas waking me up. He didnt come in last night. He has been asleep though all day in the Summerhouse so must have a good night out on the tiles.
The wind seems to be really picking up here and the sun we had seems to have disappeared .I just put the heating back on. Lots of people buying fireworks in Tesco this morning.I really think Fireworks should just be for Public Displays,or any organised do's . Just selling to anyone can get them in the wrong hands. I probably sound a right grinch but I have never been a fan of them after getting hit by a loose Aeroplane firework when I was little. I wasn't hurt but it just frightened me half to death. It took me years even to just hold a Sparkler.I love to see them ,but only from indoors.
Chris has been reorganising my Toolbar on the laptop this morning. So I have had to have a lesson in having to use the new way. Tomorrow I have to have a lesson on on line banking !!!! Heck I know this is not going to be easy for me.I can see Chris getting very frustrated with me. But he has been warned that it will take me a long time to get to grips with it and he has to be prepared for me to keep asking how to do something. I am not the brightest spark when it comes to learning anything new regards the computer. Hannah sent us the Menu options for the reception. They can choose 3 starters,3 Mains and a Dessert which I think considering it is for 60 plus guests to get 3 choices is brilliant. She wanted our opinions.. Only one thing I thought was missing and that was some kind of Chicken dish. But I suppose that might be thought a bit boring for a Wedding Menu. Most weddings I have been to it has been a set menu with one vegetarian option. My battery has almost run out here so need to find the lead and get plugged in again.

I have been busy doing nothing again today. I did get some stuff out of a cupboard in the uti room and rearrange it a bit and now there is more stuff in there.
I have made the last angel wings and only need to stick them on and trim her hair and then thats the lot finished. I think I may make some of the fairies I made for Mandy as they were so colourfull but I don't have anymore of the wings I used for those and I can't find any anywhere not even on Amazon.
I am having a go at some candles out of twigs cut from the garden to clip on Christmas tree branches.
I am pleased you had a good nights sleep Frank. It makes you feel so much better. I don't think I got up in the night last night at all. It must have been the VERY salty bacon I had the night before. Gosh I don't think I have ever had any so salty. It made my tongue curl up on the first bite so I smothered the rest with egg yolk and a bit of brown bread and spread.
Mandy how is BIL today? Have you seen them? or heard how he is?
How too is our Janice today? Does she have to have her treatment over the weekend? I hope she can get some relief soon and am sending love.

Evening all,
It's been a lovely sunny day here i've been out in the garden getting some of my Begonias out of the pots to store away for next year ,some are still full of flower it's such a shame to have to take them out but i don't want the frost to get to them .
BIL is doing nicely my sister went yesterday and he was sitting out in a chair ,he had pain as the nurse some how managed to pull the line out of his back that was giving him the pain relief so they were trying to get a cannula in his hand to give him morphine every two hours . No way must he bend his knee so he has a cast on ,they had quite a job to stitch the knee as this was the fourth time it had been opened up so that was another reason he must not bend the knee . We are going tomorrow afternoon to see him and will pick my sister up ,she has been today with her son but i haven't heard from her yet i expect she will ring me later .
Oh dear Ann that could have been a little embarrassing thank goodness you managed to find them ,i bet OH had some thing to say about that :-D :-D
Jane i would have thought a Chicken dish on the menu would be quite popular ,lots of people go for chicken ,what was the other meat ? was there a fish dish ? Good luck with the online banking :-D son keeps trying to get us to do it but i'm not that keen .
Hope Ros got on ok yesterday with her appointments and the water infection can be sorted out it must be getting her down .
Yes Mel my little fairies will be out for Christmas they are a nice little splash of colour . What a shame you carn't find some more of the wings as they are so pretty .
So your all sorted now Gill with the new fridge and freezer coming soon ,just need to fill them up with lots of goodies now . Hope you both got on ok with having the flu jab ,does Sandra have one ?
We can hear Fire works going off thankfully Max takes no notice of them ,well not while he's indoors any way, if he was out side when one went off well that might be a different matter :-0

I'm finally having a sit down, I haven't stopped all day.
When we got back from having the flu jabs and doing some shopping, I checked the post and found a card from our water company stating that the water might be brown or even black as they are doing some cleaning work on the pipes starting on Monday 5th November until 29th November, they have explained how to try and make the water run clearer but have advice us not to do any washing of clothes if it's really bad, so I ended up changing the beds today rather than Monday when I was going to do them. I've also de-frosted the freezer which is now down the side of the bungalow ready for OH to take to the tip tomorrow, I cooked 80 sausages rolls, did some hoovering and dusting, finally got around to trimming the material which has now been put away and had a bath and did some more washing, I'm absolutely shattered now and my arm is starting to hurt from where I had the flu jab this morning. I was tense when it was done so I think it's bruised now.
No Sandra doesn't have a flu jab just OH and I. She doesn't like needles so would of got herself in a right state if she'd of had to have one.
Pleased to hear your BIL is doing nicely Mandy, how long does he have to have the cast on for? I didn't realise this was the fourth time it had been opened, he must be getting fed up of it now. Fancy the nurse managing to pull out the line, she should be more careful. We've had so many fireworks going off here tonight. I helped OH take the freezer outside and it smelt so smoky with them all. I could hear the neighbour's little dog barking......bless her. She's normally so quiet so they must of upset her. Pleased to see Max isn't bothered by them, I always feel sorry for the animals who get really stressed with all the loud noises.
Did you send the pictures Mel, I didn't receive them if you did?
So what was on the menu Jane? I think chicken would of been a good option to, as like you said most people like that. I fully understand how you feel about learning new things on the computer, I'm like that to. I do online banking though and find it pretty straight forward so I'm sure you'll be okay. Good luck with your lessons.
I'm off to bed now, I can't hardly keep my eyes open. See you all tomorrow.
