Morning Mel, morning all
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR MEL :-D
It's just been raining here to Mel, hope it stops before my fridge and freezer arrive, electric items and rain don't mix.
Do you have anything planned for OH's birthday? Did he like the present you bought him? Hope you find something for your aunty Joy today.
The lady from New Zealand got back to me so now the end of the message makes more sense, I had it all wrong. (don't worry Mel, the bits I got wrong weren't on any of the emails you sent me) It was the next generation and the way she'd written it I had one boy married to his step mum and his three half siblings as his children, good job she messaged me again. It's all sorted now so I can enter them onto my Genes tree, which is what I'll be doing today.
I didn't realise how many people there is to enter onto my tree, so it'll probably take me all day to finish it. Never mind the weather isn't nice and I have to stay in for the appliances to arrive anyway.
Well, I'd better get on with it, it won't do itself.

Morning All,
Another HAPPY BIRTHDAY to MR MEL! Not a good day for using his new loppers with it raining. All the bits will stick to them. OH is just the same Mel, he asks where something is taking place and who people are rather than listen to what they are saying........and he picks fault too. I find I am so tense waiting for the next interruption it's not so enjoyable. He gets to hear the bits he is interested in without interruptions. I threaten to get the Duck Tape out!!!! lol. I hope you get some inspiration for Aunty Joy's present. After Jane's inspiration might she like a nice cushion?
I hope all goes well with the appliance deliveries Gill and that they come nice and early. I always feel happier once things are in place and working!
OH is ready to go out now so I better get moving!!

So OH has used his pruner Mel, did he like it?
I got a phone call about 11.15am to say they would deliver around 12 noon, so now I'm the proud owner of a new fridge and freezer :-) They look so white compared to my old ones, mind you they were over 15 years old and have been in three properties so have had a lot of battering over the years. The fridge is a bit smaller than the freezer so had to be pushed back a bit, but they look great and I'm looking forward to filling them both with some lovely goodies tomorrow. I can put the milk etc.... in the fridge in a couple of hours, it's quite cold in the kitchen so the little bit of food I took out of the fridge will be okay for that length of time, although I am tempted to put it in now as the fridge will be getting colder by the minute.
I'm getting on well with my family tree, adding the people one by one, although I've had to guess at a few years of birth, so will message the lady in New Zealand to check they are right. She didn't put all the years of birth for everyone in her message. These are the next generation Mel, incase you're wondering.
The delivery men left the packaging so I'm going to sort that out now, OH and Sandra have taken the old fridge down the tip. Luckily the rain stopped so nothing got wet, I hope it stays dry while they are out. Poor OH has a migraine so he'll probably have a lie down when he gets back. I did say to leave the fridge but he didn't want the water going into the car, so he took it straight away.
Pleased to see the sun came out for you Mel, you won't get wet shopping now :-) :-)

Good afternoon all, I'm late on PARADE today.
Was woken up this morning by workmen who are digging up all the driveway and front garden of Denis and Pam's. They only had new block paving laid last year on the drive, and the lawn taken away which was replaced by gravel.
His Brother died a few months ago, so I expect thats where the money is coming from. I think his house etc was left to him.
Gawd knows when they will finish, all I have had all day is a DIGGER AND DRILL going and making such a row. Thy have damaged the grass verge, on the road I hope they are going to repair or replace it, as it's an eyesore from t the kitchen window, and I doubt the council will be too pleased, if they don't replace/repair it.
I decided to clean the oven this morning. Wish I hadn't bothered. My shoulder and back are giving me a lot of discomfort. I've also got dinner ready for tonight. Minted lamb steaks, Mash, Cabbage, peas and carrots and runners.
Good job Ros is out with Carolyn, she has missed all the BL@@DY noise. who's a lucky girl then. lol lol
Happy Birthday MR MEL. If you have he rain you won't be able to play with your new toy, but there is always tomorrow ;-) ;-) ;-)
It was very quiet last night, with only a few fireworks going off. I think hey had used them all up Friday/Saturday and Sunday.
Your lunch sounded nice Jane, is it any special occasion ?? Or just a boozy lunchtime ??
I expect the FRIDGE/FREEZER is installed by now Gill, how long had you had the old one ?? Now's the expensive time, restocking it.
Tha was a hair raising drive you had yesterday Ann. Good job you had your wits about you, or you could be looking into an Insurance claim. I often say to Ros. Some of these drivers should NOT be on the road. The number of near miss's you see is frightening. But they just drive on, oblivious to what they have done. :-P :-P No wonder I am always shouting at them. lol lol.
How are the patients today ?? improving I hope. No news about my sister again. Ir seems if I don't ring, they don't bother to ring me.

Oh dear Frank it sounds like you've over done it a bit cleaning the oven and all that noise from your neighbour to. I think you're right Ros is better off away from the bungalow today.
Yes, the new fridge and freezer are here, the old ones were over 15 years old so we were well overdue for new ones I think. Although, like you said, now comes the expensive bit, stocking them up. I was thinking of buying a few bits and bobs for Christmas while I've got the chance, otherwise the freezer will be filled up with everyday things and I won't have the room. Both the fridge and freezer are slightly smaller than our old ones, so I'm not sure how much the new freezer will hold. Still I'll have fun buying all the goodies, or should I say eating them LOL ;-) ;-) ;-)

Glad you are pleased with your new Fridge and Freezer Gill :-D. Hope OH's Migraine has worn off now. I would have thought going to the tip with that headache would have been a nightmare .It is so nice to suddenly have a lovely fridge /freezer to refill :-D. As you say they look so white .
Frank you were a silly b****r cleaning the oven out today .You should have waited a day or so after your first physio.
Lunch was lovely and yes a little bit boozy as it always is with Fitz but not too over the top :-D. I think I am typing right ;-) ;-)Hopefully no spelling mistakes!!
So OH has already had a go with the Pruner Mel :-D Was there another pressie for him that he didn't know about?
I said `i didnt have a pic of Jess's Tux jacket. It is hanging up in James's bedroom !!!!. The trousers are on a hanger under the jacket. I will get some sneaky pics tomorrow .The jacket is lovely with a satin collar and lapel with a stunning blue lining .It is a very soft material too.I love it :-D

Good morning all,
We have the yellow stuff this morning but not all the time. The sky is quite cloudy out the the front and greyish but the back is blue and white whispy cloud and thats where the sun is.
I have to go into Holsworthy this morning to pic up the scripts. No doubt oh will be playing with his new toy.
I am on flower duty at the church and have to get some flowers too. I am surprized there was'nt any popy display to speak about in Bideford yesterday. The only thing I saw were two oldish ladies wearing big knitted poppies. Nothing up the front but I did'nt go into town. They have had knitting on all the tree and signs in there before to I expected to see lots of poppies everywhere.

Good morning Mel, and all.
Another PIG of a night. Stayed up to 11.00, still awake at 12.45. got up and read until 2.30. I seemed to have clock watched until 5.00 am. I gave Ros a nudge at 8,00 as she has a hospital appointment at 9.30. I then turned over and slept to 9.45. I have had my tea and showered, now reading and deleting Emails. Talk about RUBBISH where does it all come from.??
No Sunshine here Mel, it's Hissing down here, with a strong wind to go with it. Not a day for being outside.
Yes girls, I think I may have overdone things a bit yesterday, but I am pleased it is out of the way. !!! I can see through the oven door now lol lol.
I bet there will be no stopping OH now Mel. Anything growing out of place with been seen to PRONTO. I have never heard of Guiness Chocolate. I see those YOBS have handed themselves into the police who burnt the effigy of the GRENFELL TOWER FIRE. Why on earth would anyone do that. TOTALLY SICK. Also there has been tributes to the fallen vandalised. Give me 10 minutes with the lowlife. :-( :-( :-( :-( :-| :-| :-| :-|
Glad you enjoyed your lunch with Fitz Jane. You three do get on well, don't you ??
Yes Gill NOW THE EXPENSE filling the freezer. Good idea to get your Christmas bits in it, before you fill it with everything else. We have a chest freezer in the garage, and a Fridge freezer (American Style) in the kitchen. Both are full to overflowing. I keep telling ROS to stop buying MEAT until I tell her I need it. It's like taking to the BRICK WALL.
How are the unwell relatives doing ?? coming along well I hope.
Blow me the SUN has just popped out. I will go to the garage to get something out for dinner tonight. See you all later. xxx

Morning All,
Best wishes to Mandy's BIL and hope he is doing well.
I bet you will enjoy stocking up your fridge and freezer Gill. You've reminded me I need to go through our freezer and eat up some things so there will be room for some Christmas things.
Have you told OH what not to prune Mel? My OH can get a bit carried away once he starts! It is good he will be able to have a good sort out with the pruner now he has a good tool to do it though.
I hope your neck and shoulder are a bit better today Frank. I expect the physio will have resulted in some stiffness at first and then cleaning the oven on top won't have helped. I must be careful today as we have a good walk at the hospital tomorrow for OH's next eye appointment.
Your lunch with Fitz sounded nice Jane. I like pizza with salad. I find myself adding extra cheese to the pizza toppings at times which is even more unhealthy!
Just noticed the time and I haven't even showered yet. I was still awake at 3.00am though.

Didn't see your post Frank, but see you had a sleepless night too. It makes you feel so shattered the next day. Once I get to sleep I seem ok and don't keep waking up like I used to. It's just getting off to sleep these days. MIL and FIL said they always dropped off within minutes, but then they had such regular times for everything which I don't!

Ann, As soon as Ros;s head touches the pillow, she is asleep. It's something I have never been able to do. When I was YOUNG lol lol. We slept three in a bed. with me stuck in the middle. I could never sleep because I was to HOT and would either lay behind by brothers heads or curl up in an armchair in the corner of the bedroom. I'm still the same today.
I am going to try a chicken carrerole with sliced potato' s over the top, instead of Mash Potato. I think it should turn out alright. We will see tonight. !!!!
Still a horrible day here, I have just heard from Ros. She has to go for more blood tests, and he heart doctor has confirmed she will need one or two more stents fitted in the New Year. He said they will help with her Heart performance. So sounds like good news.

Afternoon Everyone
Dark and dismal here. Its a really depressing day. Oh dear Frank.Your nights were going so well too. Hope that tonight will be much better. Chris is one of these lucky people who just drops off as soon as his head hits the pillow.I have to read for quite a while before I get to sleep. It will be good when Ros can get her other stents done. I hope she can get a date for it soon. Your Chicken sounds a bit like a Hot pot with the sliced potatoes on top. Tasty. :-D
I am doing Sausages ,Mash ,Roast Carrots and Parsnips and Greens. Iam just doing a gravy now with a Rich Beef Stock, Damson Conserve and Red Onions.I think I have to add a dash of Balsamic Vinegar at the end .I have made the mash this morning.
Ann I nearly always add extra toppings on Pizza.Yesterday it was a Pepperoni one and I added sliced button mushroom and some sliced cherry tomatoes ,some Basil leaves and a sprinkling of grated Parmesan.I find sometimes that the toppings are a bit lacking so need some extras :-D
How is the lopping going Mel??? Is there anything left :-D :-D. He wouldnt ae abel to do any here now as it is absolutely chucking it down. :-S
We have been looking to see about me adding extra contributions to my Pension . I have 2 years of extra payment to make it up to the full pension, but there seems to be no form we can find to do it on line so it will have to be a phone call I think. That can be for another day now. There is no rush.
I shall go and have a look at this gravy and see how it is reducing.

Ros is just home. She had to give 7 files of blood this afternoon. the doctor was very good and so easy to talk too. She (Ros) had to go through all her medical history from her first operation up to her heart attack.
The rain this afternoon was so bad that Denis came out to take the dog for a walk, and turned round and went back indoors.
I couldn't believe my eyes this afternoon, Barry was at Tony's, cutting the lawns with an ELECTRIC MOWER. He was soaked to the skin.
I have spent best part of an hour, in the toilet on and off. Not I might add with the runs. but the other. All seems fine at the moment, so I can relax a bit now.
Ros saw a very old friends husband, in the waiting room this afternoon. She is on the phone to her at the moment. They were great pals over 40 years ago. So I can see we will be visiting them, when we go to the cemetery with the flowers to her Mum and Dads grave. They still live in Earls Barton.
I must go and put the casserole in the oven, otherwise we won't eat at our usual 6.00 pm.
You should see the SUNSET we have here. The sky is just a blaze.in between the black clouds. Wish I could get a photo.
