Its always nice Frank when you have a good Dr that you feel comfortable with. It must have put Ros at ease. That was a lot of blood samples!A very thorough screening. How nice for her to bump into her old friends husband :-D.I bet your phone will be hot soon :-D Fancy Barry mowing with the electric mower in pouring rain !!!!.Lucky he didnt get electrocuted !!.
No lovely sunset here. It just carried on raining .There were a few breaks in the clouds at one point but it soon went black again. I think the rain has stopped now.Thomas has just wandered in and he seems quite dry so has been sheltering somewhere.
I hope you dont have any more episodes of trips to the loo with your waterworks. You certainly won't be needing that in the night. :-S
Hannah has an appointment tomorrow with the girl who is doing her hair for the wedding. Trying styles. I think she is going have her hair part up and part down.
Guess what I had arrive today ? ......another fascinator LOL . I quite like it. Thats 5 I have now :-S I will have to set up shop soon .
I meant to say the other day that bag of sweets I bought for Trick or Treaters has gone in the bin. As well as there being no Black Jacks the rest all tasted disgusting and nothing like the flavours I was imagining.I am glad now we had no little visitors as I would not have wanted to give them sweets that tasted so bad. They were cheap and nasty :-S

Evening all,
Belated birthday wishes to OH Mel ,has he been using his new toy today lopping everything in sight :-D It was sons birthday yesterday too so we were round there to give him his presents and card .
Jane not another Fascinator LOL what's this one like ? have you seen the lady to see if she can make one you like out of all of them .
Sounds as if Ros has had a thorough screening at the hospital ,it will be good if she can get the new stents done soon and then she'll feel better. Sorry to hear your having these loo trips ,hope you haven't got a water infection and that your neck and shoulder are a bit better today.
BIL came home today ,i think you feel much better in your own home , we heard on the news yesterday that the Norfolk and Norwich hospital has the Norovirus in the hospital so i think he came home at the right time getting that would not be very good for him as he has to take his time getting up and if you get the bug we all know when you have to go you have to go !!
So your not having good nights either then Ann , i don't have much trouble dropping off but i find if i wake about three then i usually lay there for about an hour before i drop off again ,i try not to look at the clock if i can help it.
Hows the fridge and freezer filling going Gill ? have you filled it with lots of nice things ready for Christmas :-D
We have been waiting for parcels to arrive today so we have turned out our bedroom while we had to wait in ,i have to say they are not our parcels but DIL and sons ,they had them delivered here to stop prying eyes :-D I think Chelsea has been having a little look see as she said " i would like some Harry Potter PJ's and a Harry Potter throw for my bed " just what DIL had bought so she's had a look !!!!! Going back to our turn out you should have seen the dust on top of our wardrobes :-0 and we also pulled out the bedside draws and under neath mine was a scarf !! which i had been hunting for and on Colins side under neath his was an Ordnance Survey map !!!! :-D :-D

Well after I posted this morning it has been chucking it dowon here too. I had to go to Holsworthy after lunch for the scripts and some flowers for the church. I was so cold and wet I was glad to get home.
Got changed and had a fiddle with my craft for a while after doing the chickens and bantams and then got the dinner. We had gammon steaks, new pots and mixed veg from the freezer. I hav'nt done freezer veg for ages and thought it may be horrid but it was quite nice and not pappy. It was carrots, cauli, brocc and peas and I added some more peas. We had peach halves with the gammon as I had'nt got pineapple slices.
I am now watching salvage Hunters on Quest. Love it.

I only ever find cobweb under our bed side units!! The hoover won't go under them and as they have oak top they are heavy so do'nt come out often.
I forgot to take my camera with me this afternoon too to take a pic of the poppies. I had a bag of things for the hospice shop but it was closed when I got there so thats still in the back of the car.

Morning all,
Dull and overcast this morning and I am cold too oh has just turned the heating on for me.
Have to do the church flowers today and I can tell you I shan'nt be there long as its always cold in the church even in summer. I don't know what I am going to do for greenery as the frost has turned everything brown in sight and what not gone brown has lost its leaves. Even the trusty ferns have gone brown this year and there are three big arrangements to do and a little one in the porch. I just hope there is something left there from the last flower arranger.

Good morning Mel and All.
The casserole was a disaster last night, to the point that everything went down the toilet. It tasted horrible, what I did wrong I do now know. We ended up having cheese and biscuits. I stayed up till 11.00 last night, and dropped off very quickly. Only got out twice, and was up by 7.30 am.
I said to Ros yesterday. For my birthday you could get the boys to buy me an Electric Razor. The one I have is 15 years old. Well almost. Ros bought it when I had my stroke. It doesn't get used very often as I like a WET SHAVE. She said too late THANKS. I said you didn't need to tell me you have bought one. One thing I have bought Ros. is a new model ORAL B electric tooth brush I looked on the box and it has 3/4 heads, other bits and pieces and WOULD YOU BELIEVE, a docking station for a mobile phone. What will they think of next ??
She called in a Tesco on the way home and bought my a lovely soft pair of navy trousers. 36 " waist 31" inside leg. Fitted me like a glove. All my older trousers are 38" waist, and fall over my hips, and Ros said I look like I have an ELEPHANT'S BUM. What a little charmer I married. She is replacing all my trousers and all the larger ones can go to the AIR AMBULANCE,
Ros is making one of her notorious Beef and Onion Rolls for tonight. SHIN of beef, onions, potato's all chopped up and put in a suet pudding, rolled up in greaseproof paper, then a tea towel tied with string, and boiled for a good few hours. I will do the veg later, not that we will need much with that. I's so filling, and wonderful with all the flavours in the pudding. I'm starting to dribble lol lol.
Hope you can find some greenery for the flowers Mel. It does help to show them off, doesn't it. ??
You will have more hats than an haberdashery shop, the way you are going Jane, All the spare ones could be handed out at the wedding, like you do with the button holes ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) That would be a novel idea. lol lol.
It looks like your BIL is home just time Mandy. The last thing he needs is to catch a virus. The would knock him right back.
I am all showered and shaved and still in my dressing gown. LAZY Beggar I hear you say. But there is no rush, as I have nothing to do, just sit and read my book, which I will do in the conservatory, as it's a lovely sunny day, today.
Enjoy the sun today, girls, see you later. xxx

Oh had a new chain saw delivered this morning the same make as the pruner I bought hom and it too runs off a battery so no petrol to keep filling up. Its quite light too so he is all set to clear the top garden now. He has just gone out to try it. He did'nt want to spoil the pruner doing too big a tree trunks even though it does cope.
Your trousers sound nice Frank. Perhaps they do the same ones in a different colour. :-D

Afternoon All What a shame you had to chuck away your casserole Frank. It did sound as though it was going to be lovely too.Do you always put your food down the loo?? I would worry it would block the pipes up !!. Your trousers sound nice and a perfect fit too. Like Mel siad maybe there are others the same but in a different colour. So you now know what you are having for Xmas from Ros :-D :-D. We have those Oral B electric brushes but I do still like my normal one too.
OH is going to be busy again then Mel with the new chain saw.Pruner ,chain saw ,I wonder what will be next :-D. Have you managed to get any greenery at all for the flower displays? I am sure that you will still do a good job even if there is none.
I think I might have beans on toast for lunch now. I have a sudden fancy for that.

I hope this fancy you have Jane, doesn't mean you are expecting. lol lol You would make a fortune if you were.
Ros has washed her hair and is sitting on the sofa with the hair dryer screaming away. She asked for a bowl of mushroom soup, which I went to get for her. The phone rang it was Val (Sid's wife) they were on the phone for ages. I told Ros to ring her back as the soup would be cold. NO RESPONSE whatsoever. So she ended up having cold soup. Serves her right. !!!!
New tools to do all the big jobs with now Mel. Mind you, from what you say, I am sure he needs them. He's certainly a glutton for punishment, in the nicest way, doing all he does in that big garden of yours. I know I couldn't see me doing the things he does.
Just going to put the pudding on a low gas, to simmer away. It should be ready for 5.30/6.00 pm. I have done runners, cauli and Broch. to go with it. She had a big piece of meat over, so has made a pie for tomorrow. Just the crust to put on tomorrow.
I am feeling very tired today. I would have thought, having a good night last night, I would be fine. So I might grab forty winks ;-) ;-) ;-)

Afternoon all
A bit dull here today with spots of rain every now and then.
I've been so busy these past few days, I've filled the fridge and freezer but think I'll take the drawers out of the freezer with it being so small as I couldn't get much in it. I didn't buy any food for Christmas so will do that when I can make more room in the freezer.
Today we've all been helping the daughter of the 99 year old sort out her mum's bungalow next door, it's been sold and still needs emptying, so OH took a load of rubbish down the tip for her. Most of the stuff left she said she can do herself as it's paperwork and clothes, she needs to put aside some summer clothes for her mum and take the rest to the clothes bank. We did say if she needs us for anything to just give us a knock.
While we were there her son turned up, he owns the bungalow and told us the new people are moving in on 16th November, so we'll have new neighbours soon. He also said I could take what ever plants I liked in pots from the garden which was nice of him I got about half a dozen but I'm not sure what they are so will have to Google it. He also gave us a small TV, unfortunately we can't seem to turn it on as there was no manual, so I'm going to have to find a manual online rather than just randomly pressing buttons. We're going to have to buy some new batteries first for the control though. He also gave us a couple of freeview boxes and his mum gave me some more material and some storage boxes with lids which I needed, so all in all it was quite a good day for all of us. She offered to pay for petrol but we said no. It was nice of her to offer though.
So as you can see I've been very busy lately. I've also been doing a bit of my family tree, not much though with being so busy but a few bits and bobs the lady from New Zealand had sent me. She said that she had lost contact with a lot of her family as they live in Australia but with helping me with the family tree she has phoned them for information and now has regular general chats with them, so that's nice. I'm really pleased she is back in contact with them as she sounded quite lonely.
I noticed that Jane has got herself another fascinator. You do know you only have one head Jane LOL :-D :-D :-D
Fancy Barry cutting the lawns in the rain with an electric mower, silly man. I guess he got away with it, but he was very lucky Frank. That's a lot of blood Ros had to give, how long does she have to wait for the results? How nice that she saw her old friends husband and is now in contact with her friend, she must be thrilled.
So your OH has two toys to play with Mel. Hope the weather is nice for him. Now he'll be able to sort all the garden out.
Pleased to see your BIL is home now Mandy and just in time by the sound of it, the last thing he needs is to catch Norovirus.

Afternoon All,
That's good your BIL is home now Mandy and away from the Norovirus outbreak. None of you want to get that! Fancy young Chelsea finding the pressies. It sounded as if she wanted to make sure those things were for her and not given to someone else! lol. I shudder to think what might be under the bed. It's not high enough to get the hoover under so must be really mucky by now.
What a shame about the casserole Frank, it sounded nice as well. The doctor who saw Ros sounds very thorough and just what you want. She can enjoy Christmas now before the stents are done. Will you be able to keep up with her when it's done if she has more energy? ;-) OH has 36 inch waist trousers too. I think he had 32 inch ones when I first knew him. ELEPHANT'S BUM lol.........were they grey trousers then? lol.
Are you going to return any fascinators Jane? It's going to be a mighty big fascinator if you amalgamate all of them and would be truly fascinating to see! :-) Shame you couldn't polish off the sweets and had to throw them away. Did you see about that child having ecstasy tablets put in with the sweets she collected. I can't believe the idiots that do these stupid things!
We had another long visit to the eye department for OH' appointment this morning. The traffic both going and coming back was awful!! He saw the 'top' man today, but we weren't impressed the way he dealt with the young student with him. The poor girl was nervous and rubbing her fingers in her lap, but he was terse to the point of rudeness with her and didn't even introduce her to us. While she was examining OH's eyes I saw him drumming his fingers on the table and his cheek muscles were twitching like he was clenching his teeth. He was barking questions at her and she answered what he asked, but he was so off hand and impatient. Not a good role model or supportive mentor, unlike the other members of the team who have been brilliant. One who walked past us in the huge waiting room, spotted OH and said 'Good Morning Mr G#####' We were surprised he even remembered us with all the people they see. We have to go back in a month's time, but the most dangerous period for detachment has passed now. Both of OH's eyes still have a lifetime risk of further tears though which will need prompt attention. While we were in the waiting room the Police arrived with a Prison Officer? and a chap in handcuffs! Needless to say he seemed to jump the queue and I expect they wanted to get him back behind bars ASAP. :-)
My knee was really hurting after all the sitting this time, but we called and got a jacket potato on the way back. I was going to one of the hospital talks tonight but have decided to give this one a miss. It wasn't one that interested me that much and my knee has had enough for today. I want to be sure I can go to see my beading buddies tomorrow.
I hope you had enough to do the church flower displays Mel. Hopefully you could use some bits from the previous arrangements too. I saw a pic of a nice display for WW1 commemoration in one of the city churches. It was a simple vase full of tall twigs and home made, painted cardboard poppies had been tied to all the branches. At the side were small cards people could write the names of their rellies and friends lost in the war and tie them to the twigs. It was simple but very decorative and effective. These new tools sound as if they will make jobs a lot easier for your OH.

Didn't see you there Gill as I got a job to do from OH halfway through my post! You have been busy next door then and have been given some handy items and plants you could pick. OH noticed this morning that a 'SOLD' board has gone up on Jean's bungalow diagonally opposite since yesterday, so we will be getting new neighbours there soon. It needs a lot of work so I expect builders will be arriving soon after.
You are getting on well with your tree........how many rellies have you found now?
I bought a tiny battery twig tree for the bedroom yesterday. It has different coloured lights on the branches and looks quite pretty. It's tonight you go to see the Christmas Displays at the Garden Centre with Sandra isn't it? Have I got it right this time? lol. I hope you all have a nice time. :-)

Ha ! I might be in the Guiness book of records Frank if I was expecting ! It is strange though I often dream I am expecting. Lord knows why I have these dreams. 2 were enough for me :-D
You have been busy again Gill. Lots of things passed on to you. I hope you can get the TV working.I always fancied a TV in the kitchen but there is nowhere suitable for one ot go. If I am doing cooking and want to watch something I just take my laptop in there and prop it up on the windowsill.I hope your new neighbours are nice people and friendly. It wont be long now then before they move in.
I jsut spoke to the lady doing my jacket and she is happy for me to take ALL my fascinators :-D :-D. She is sure she will be able to do something for me. Hannah has had an appointment with her hair and makeup lady today and has sent me pics of how she will look on the day. Just beautiful :-D <3. Simple hair do ,just as I imagined and her eye makeup makes her eyes look just amazing.

Evening all,
It's been a lovely day here with a good dry out , i got all my bedding dry ironed and put away .
Frank that's good you have found a good pair of trousers that are nice and comfy as the others have said perhaps they do them in other colours too. What a shame having to throw last nights meal away i'm sure you'll enjoy Ros's steamed pud .
How did you get on with the church flowers Mel ? did you manage to find any greenery ?
So you'll have new neighbours soon then Gill, that was nice of the ladies son to give you those bits and pieces ,i hope you can work out how to turn the tele on ,perhaps it's only with the remote ,i think we had one like that once .
Ann that must be a bit of a relief for you both to know that the period for detachment has passed for OH but still a bit worrying to think there could be a chance of further tears , how could this happen is it a strain on the eyes that could cause a tear ? i don't know much about tears in the eye . Your little twig tree sounds pretty .
Jane i dream about babies too but in my dream i never seem to know who the baby belongs too and i'm trying to find baby clothes for it .

Ann ,that 'Top' man sounded horrible to the poor new student. Rather an impatient and maybe arrogant man with drumming his fingers on the table. That would not have put the poor girl at ease. They sometimes forget they were once students themselves . It is good though that OH is getting good service with his eyes.It must be a bit of a worry though wondering if something might suddenly get worse and need surgery.
I only sent one fascinator back. None are that expensive. I dont want a big fascinator . Just something big enough but not too big and tasteful It will be stuck on the side of my head and will hopefully stay in place :-D I don't really do head gear :-S But feel I need to push the boat out a bit for this occasion even if I feel a bit out of my comfort zone. Dinner ready here now .I'm feeling really hungry.

I got the impression he found it tedious (or maybe beneath him?) to have to have a student with him Jane. We had inspectors like it at work who would never have a trainee with them if they could help it as it slows you down and they were more fussed about meeting their targets.
Tears and retinal detachment are a risk with very short sight like OH Mandy. The retina gets very thin and fragile around the edges and can tear. I don't know but think it's to do with the eyeball shape pulling at the retina?? The fluid in the eye can get under the tear and lift the retina away. He's known about it for over 30 years. Then having the cataract surgery added an extra risk. Both eyes are the same but the important thing is not to delay going to the eye clinic if there is any change. It's a shame because he's never had such good vision as now and can read all the optician chart without glasses........mind you I think he must know it off by heart now!!
It's good the lady doing your jacket can do you a fascinator as well from those you have Jane. I bet Hannah will look lovely when everything comes together with her hair, dress and makeup. It won't be long now. :-D

We had a windy cloudy day today but it was dry all day. Vron called in this morning with her twin grandsons. they are like two peas in a pod and you can only tell the difference because Percy has a little slimmer face than Sid. They both have wonderfull curly hair which they will hate when they are older. They were both asleep in the pushchair when she came down but both wole up and Percy did give us a smile but not Sidney. Vron had called for the 100 club money. Then I had to do the library van and then lunch. She's a very proud gran.
After lunch I did the flowers in the church. When I got down there with my bits of laurel and ferns outside the bungalow that had'nt got the frost I found the flowers down there still had good greenery in them so I rearranged it and there was also white chrysnats and delicate pink roses that had'nt even opened and the lily thing I can't remember the name of in white and pink. It all went back in and I only had half a bucket to dump in the bin. Alstromeria thats the name. It lasts a long while in water and is great for arranging. I keep some artifial poppies that I have used in the church before but when I got them out of the uti room I had had them in the sun on the windowsill and they had faded so I had to take one sprig apart and make them new petals out of tissue paper. They look ok and went in the big arragement at the front of the church. For got to take my camera down there to take some pics again!!! What am I like?
After that and doing the chickens and bantams I cooked a Lemon and Thyme stuffed chicken breast from Morrisons and it was delish. I shall buy another next week. It was a new thing so if Ros sees one in her Morrisons I think you would both like it. I have enough saved for a sandwich for me tomorrow too. For dessert we polished off the rest of oh's birthday chocs. Naughty but nice.
Ann its good to know that G can get fast treatment should anything happen to his eyes. We shall need to see these new glasses you know. I wonder if the girls got your beads you wanted at the show last week? You'll know tomorrow.
Not another fasinater Jane?? When are you going to stop buying them? I am sure the lady doing your top will be able to make something to your likeing as she sounds a good person to know when you need things altered. Wish I had someone like that here. I did have but she moved away last year. I have two pairs of jim jams that need shortening and I can't be bothered to do them as they are stretchy material.
I had to laugh at Frank having an ELEPHANTS BUM but I know just what she meant.
Gill did they give you any idea of how old the new people will be moving into the house next door? It sounds like you got some good bits and bobs from them.
I am now ging to watch the program on BBC 4 about the 3,000 year old Bronze Age round house they found in the Cambridgeshire Fenns.

A bit of watery sun here and there but the sky is cloudy and grey most of the time. Its not very warm either but there is only a gentle breeze this mrning not like the lovely drying gentle wind of yesterday. When I took the washing in and put it in the uti room to air and walked in a bit later it smelt of fresh air, it was lovely. You only get that when the washing dries in the cold wind.

Good morning Mel, and all. Lots of high clouds this morning, but not a lot of breeze.
Ros has taken Carolyn to the PHYSIO this morning. It seems it's one or the other who have had treatment of some sort all this week .
I had a call from my bank last night, asking if I recognised a payment of £49.99 being made by me, NO I DIDN"T. Don't use your card again,. a new one will be in the post ASAP. So it's a case, of some LOWLIFE scanning my card for my details. Good job the bank is on it's toes. :-| :-| :-| It makes you wonder how they do it.??
Good news for OH Ann. It's now a case of taking care of his BLEEPERS (eyes) What an ignorant PIG of a man to treat that Student like that. No wonder these youngsters are leaving the NHS. I'm sure they don't need to be treated like that. It needs a Patient to either say something to him, or report him to another Consultant. So you look like having new neighbours in your close then. Has anyone been to see it yet ??
Yes Ros said that have various colours in those trousers, so I can guess what I am getting for CHRISTMAS. !!! I am still trying to find some more little things for Ros. It seems whatever I look at, she already has. Wha do you buy a woman who seems to have everything ?? any ideas ??
Not long for Hannah and Gareth now Jane, are they getting excited, and have all the invites been sent out. Remember about the post around Christmas.
Ros will be going to Morrison's on Saturday with Martine so I will tell her to look out for those chickens . They sound very tasty . Thanks.
Another excellent sleep last night 11.00 pm to 8.00 am with one visit to the loo. It must be some kind of record.
I have showered, made the bed, and hoovered through. So my BROWNIE POINTS have been earned today. lol lol
More pots from your neighbours daughter then Gill. WHERE ON EARTH will you put them all ??
Coffee and my book now, peace and quiet. HOW LOVELY. see toy soon xxx
