Afternoon All My what a quiet day it is here !!
Frank I am sorry to hear about your Sister. She does sound so unwell :-(. Hopefully the swelling in your SILs leg and foot is not like your Dad had.It may be something like a DVT or Cellulitis . Another trip for you :-S. Do you use your stick when you go down the garden? I know it is difficult if you are carrying things but maybe you could keep a spare stick in the greenhouse so you could use it on the way back to the bungalow.
Mandy how is your sore foot today? Black and Blue? Maybe you have had to sit with it up.I just hope it is not too painful.
So a white bottomed Hog :-D. At least you will be able to tell one from the other now Mel.
Table sitting on table number 3 is still being worked out!!. I have said how I think it work best and have passed it back to Hannah :-D :-D As long as Janice can be on the end with leg room to stretch out her bad leg and Michel too on the end as he is MC and will have to be up and down.
I pick up my Jacket tomorrow morning so am hoping the lady has managed to do it ok and the beads can't be seen poking through . Chris will be off with his speech to Fitz for a run through. He has been out for lunch to day so will not need feeding tonight. I got James a Steak Ragu in Pasta and I have a ready Spag Bol
I am feeling quiet chilly today and have put on a light jumper!!. I was out this morning though in a very thin top which was a bit silly really as I had to put diesel in the car. I hadn't realised it was that low but luckily the light came on just as I was about to pass the garage. It was windy and cold there so my thin top did nothing to keep me warm. Brrrrrrr!
I meant to say Frank at the beginning of my post. You have had a lucky escape with the trip to Hastings :-D :-D,but I am sorry that Caroline had the fall and has hurt herself.

Evening All,
Hope the dentist didn't find anything Mel. I hate it when they frown and start more poking in the same spot!!
Mandy it really hurts when your foot goes over like that. It's annoying when people don't keep dogs that are a bit unpredictable on leads. I hope it didn't stop you getting on with the turn out today. What colour are you doing Lewis's beanie?
Our wardrobes are up to ceiling too Mel. I do have a shelf high up on the wall above the telly in the bedroom though. It has boxes on it and a stack of those small patterned suitcases, so they all collect loads of dust and need a good clean!! :-0 How nice you have spotted two Hogs in the garden! I can't say I have ever seen a Hog's bum! lol.
Glad you got some sleep last night Frank. I bet you felt better for it. I had another good night too. Poor Carolyn.......I'm so glad we don't have stairs. I know of 2 people who have ended up paralysed after stair falls at home. At least it has got you out of the Hastings trip though. Ros is good to see if she can help. You haven't had any good news with your relations either and then to fall over yourself. I hope the shakes have gone now and that you have stayed in your chair with your book since! Gill, might a dehumidifier help keep the room drier and stop so much mould? I seem to remember having to stick some edges down again when I used polystyrene liner years ago. I put the liner horizontal though and then lining paper vertical so it would have helped hold it in place. It is a shame when you have worked so hard to do it.
I had a good day yesterday. The tyre place put a new tyre on and it only cost me £67 and I was expecting it to be double! Hearing my tale of woe, the boss gave me the number of a chap who could drill out the 4 locking bolts on the wheels for me. To cut a long story short, the car dealership wanted £169 and I would have to wait a month for the new bolts, whereas getting the new bolts from Citroen they should be here tomorrow and the whole job including the bolts will only cost £38!! :-)
We went to Nuneaton today to fetch OH's new glasses. He is really pleased with them but doesn't find them so good on the computer!! He is going to wear his cheap supermarket ones for the computer..........I think he just needs to get used to them!! ;-) We saw 4 people sleeping rough at Nuneaton today and bedding all left in another doorway. Two men and a woman were in the big doorway of an empty shop and even had table and battery radio. It is so sad, but there were other men sitting around with bottles of spirits/cider/meths as well? Some have drink problems, others mental health problems. I don't know what the answer is and some just won't be helped, but seeing the hopeless look on their faces can't help but affect you.
Did anyone see the new David Attenborough programme the other night? This first one was about David the Chimpanzee and his troupe. We thought it was brilliant and are looking forward to the other progs.

O what a busy day I have had. First we went to the dentists and when we got to Stibb Cross to turn right they had the road closed and a diversion sign up. We were behind a big double decker buis too which always goes slow through our roads. Then we caught up with a tractor with a trailer load of corn on it in front of the bus!! That slowed us down to 20 miles an hour and by this time we were on our way to Bideford. Oh rang the dintists and told them we could be late because of the diversion. The girl on the phones asked us where we were but we did'nt really know but we were just outside Torrington. Don't knwo any of the names of the roads there. Anyway I dropped oh at the door on time!!!! and went to park the car. We had appointments after one another and minewas first so he took mine. I was 5 mins late after walking from the car park so not too bad.
Your poor sister Frank I hope they can do something for the fitting for her and make her more comfortable. SIL too and hope its not the big C. Good you had a nice sleep last night to catch up on past nights. As I said before it may have been Armasist (sp) day looming and it was on your mind.
The white botty on the hedgehog is to do with them producing a white foam which they throw over their bodies. Nobody knows why they do this and it does wash off in the rain. Sometimes they have sort of ones that look like a face on their botties and sometimes it is on their backs but it does give us an idea of whether there is two or even three sometimes by these markings.
I must tell you this and I did laugh for quite a while when he told me. Oh had his shower and cleaned his teeth this morning and just before we left he thought he would rinse with mouthwash which I keep on top of the bathroom cabinet. I also keep some laxative stuff up there which is also in a brown bottle. Yes you guessed it he rinsed his mouth with the laxative and got such a chock when it was so sweet which made him look at the label. Serves him right for using my mouthwash. He told me that was the next bad mistake he has made in his life, the first one being when his aunty was staying with them when he was a boy and he cleaned his teeth with Immac. O gosh that must have been absolutely awful. I still have a smie on my face when I think about the laxative though. It is'nt a real laxative just something to make it easier to go.
Went to Morrisons in the afternoon and then back quite early and unpacked and had a sit down and a nice cuppa and choc eclairs.
Easy tea tonight as oh fancied a pizza in Lidl that only takes 12 mins to cook and I bought myself a pasty in morrisons which I don't have to cook at all. I also bought a ready cooked chicken so there's some of that too if needs be.

Evening all,
Another nice day it was 14 degrees this afternoon when i took BIL to have his staples out ,he counted twenty seven !!! he can bend the knee but it's still quite painful but now the staples are out hopefully it will feel a little less tight . Getting in the car is a bit tricky for him as he's quite tall so even with the seat right back it's hard for him , he got the right leg in ok but sister had to lift his left one in and it did make him scream out a bit with the pain .
My foot is not to bad today i carn't see any bruising ,it just aches a bit when i walk on it . Max was on the lead Frank it was the other dog that was off so that was why i was a bit weary ,there was a dog very like that dog that had a go at Max once but it turned out not to be that dog .
So you got out of going to Hastings then Frank but not in a way that you would have wanted with poor Carolyn falling down the stairs ,i hope she's ok . How are you now after your trip ?
I hope the lady has managed to do your Jacket Jane will you be taking all the Fascinators with you tomorrow ?
Yes we have manged to do the turn out today Ann :-D we have turned out the wardrobe in the back bedroom first that has all our coats and Jackets in and put quite a few out ,we now have about ten bags to go in the clothing bank tomorrow . We then went into the front bedroom and pulled the bed out which was not very bad at all underneath i was quite surprised . We have a big fitted cupboard in the front bedroom which has all sorts in ,Christmas tree ,decorations ,books ,games and general junk !!!! which we have left for another day . I've knitted Lewis's hat in Beige and Navy , as his school coat is navy , it's coming along i just had to work out the number of stitches for the hat so the pattern oked out ok.
Oh yuk Mel poor OH using the laxative instead of mouthwash :-0 that wasn't very nice . That's good the Hogs are back :-D

Ann, you did well money wise with your tyre and bolts :-D. That all sounded a really good price all round :-D
Mel I remember Stibbs Cross . Must have seen it on the way to you :-D Oh OH did a good job today then doing his teeth with the laxative!!!!! Did he swallow it? I hope he has no drastic effects :-S So the white bottomed Hog is not really a white bottomed .I have never heard of this before.
I didnt see the Chimanzees Ann. I just happened to switch channels at the point where one had a horrible injury :-( so I decided not to watch any more :-S
There is a programme on tonight Ann...Channel 1 ...10.45 The Young and Homeless. I think it is going to be good and an eyeopener . I don't go into town (Kettering) these days since M&S shut so not sure how many rough sleepers are around. It is so sad to see them though.I know as you said some don't want help but I think the majority would love to be off the streets and to just have a roof over their heads. Drugs and Drink are just sometimes the things that they believe can get them through each day and night. I saw something on TV the other night and they were saying even if you don't give money or food they just would love people to stop and talk to them .They are Human after all . I never see Steve these days (the homeless man outside the Co-op) So I am hoping now he has accommodation and maybe counselling that he is doing fine)
Eastenders on now..My only Soap I watch :-D

That was interesting about the hogs Mel and something I never knew. :-) I bet OH didn't half rinse his mouth out quick when he got the taste of the laxative. I nearly had a disaster with IMMAC once years ago. I had a hair conditioner cream in a tube like it and nearly put it on my hair. I would have ended up with OH's hairstyle wouldn't I :-D You were lucky to make it to the dentist without being later. We had a tortuous journey back from Nuneaton. Roadworks to do with all the new housebuilding mostly.
It will be great if your jacket has been sorted by the lady Jane. Another thing to tick off the list! It's a tricky one sorting who goes where but it sounds like you have the answer now for table 3. I can sympathise with Janice needing her leg out as I do the same now. I had to smile at the thought of Fitz sitting listening to Chris's speech. If I knew I had to do a talk at work (hated it!) I would arrange my audience of Teddy and my Andrex puppy at home to practice. :-) The Chimpanzee recovered Jane so it was a happy ending. I will record the prog you mention as it sounds interesting. So often people hit a hard time in their lives for whatever reason then everything goes downhill to the point they end up homeless. Sometimes, all they need is someone to help them. I thought today how awful I would feel sitting there with people passing by as if I didn't exist.
I'm glad your ankle is no worse Mandy and the coats and jackets will be appreciated with winter coming. OH has one to chuck out and I'm replacing one of mine so I must get them to a charity shop. Those are great colours to go with Lewis's uniform.

Morning all,
We have snshine at the moment but its a bit cold with it. I have just turned the heating on for half an hour so as to warm the house up a bit. We have only had it on a few times so far this year.
Hope all the aches and pains and injuries feel a lot easier this morning and that Frank had another good nights sleep.
It little Sam's birthday today so I must take his card and present round whie he is in school so he has the surprise of it tonight. I think he was expecting it on Saturday as he went all shy on me when I gave them the letters to write to Santa. Not sure if George is too old now for Santa as he is so big for his age. I asked Em if he still believed in Father Christmas and she said she was not sure but he lost three teeth in a week and one came out while he was playing rugby and shot out of his mouth on the field. They looked for it but could'nt find it and Em said he wrote a letter to the tooth fairy telling her what happened and she paid him anyway. I thought that was so sweet.

Good morning Mel and all,
Disaster with last nights meal. As I was not feeling that good, I did a PULLED PORK. with Hash Browns and B./ Beans. Ros is not eating much lately, so didn't heat too many Hash browns. I dished hers up and took it in to her. I dished mine up and thought I would put a bit of Salt and Pepper on mine. As Ros doesn't like the sea salt from the grinder she has a small pot of Saxa salt. I used that, and the Bl@@dy top flew off and the salt went all over my meal, which made it totally inedible, so that went in the bin. I ended up having cheese and biscuits later.
Ann it is terrible how the main dealers charge what they do. I am pleased you were all to get the nuts drilled out and replaced at such a fair price.
Carolyn thinks she will be O.K..to go to Hastings. So I have said to Ros. as I am not feeling to good, to say THANKS but NO THANKS. So we can stay at home.
Mel, I could do with that laxative, I have been constipated for a few days now. I will get Ros to get me something when she goes to Tesco later. She is taking Carolyn to the nail girl at 1,00 pm, as her nail feel off when she had her fall.
Yes Gill, you can buy these small dehumidifiers from more DIY stores. We keep one in the bedroom, as we get a damp spot behind the bed.
Oh my, Jan rang yesterday regarding getting to Devon and back at Christmas. She told me Conrad is taking me out for the day on my Birthday, and will drive to Devon from wherever he is taking me. He will drop Jan off when he picks me up. She has suggested that she and Ros drive down in Ros's car, that way we will have a car to drive home after Christmas. I know it will be a way out, but it will mean Ros doing a lot of driving. I have a good idea where he might take me. WEST HAM are playing WATFORD at the Olympic Stadium. West Hams home ground at Stratford. Must keep my thoughts to myself though. I would hate to spoil his surprise.
I will post this lot, as I don't want to loose it.

Gosh Frank that would be great if it is that present for your birthday. I don't really think Ros shoud drive all that way back home after her surgery and it will be extremly tiring for her and suppose she has a funny turn when your way from home. Who's going to drive the car then? I would'nt chance it. Unless they can drive you both both ways I don't think Ros should agree.

Afternoon All We have a beautiful sky here at the moment.Lovely pink clouds. They wont be here for long though as it will soon be dark.
Oh Frank, that would be smashing for toy go to see the Match at West Ham for your Birthday :-D :-D. You will have to wrap up warm that day.Fingers crossed that that is the present . I think like Mel a drive to and from from Devon is going to maybe be a bit much for her if she is still not feeling 100%.Also as she is waiting now for more stents it would be awful if she had an 'episode' whist driving all that way.I am sure though that you will be able ot sort something out with the family.
I picked up my jack et this morning and it seems fine now.The lady has my fascinators and will do something for me. She also has some pretty white pearl type beads and may add a couple or so .I will find out what she has done next tuesday.
The pink sky has vanished already :-(
You have been busy today Mel. I hope Sam loves his present from you.How old is he?. I hope he still believes in Father Christmas. I always feel very sad the first year they don't. I can remember SO clearly the day my friend Johanna told me he didnt exist. We were playing on stilts that my Dad had made and I walloped her with one and said she was telling lies and that she wasn't my friend any more. She ran off home in tears and I ran in tears to Mum and told her what Johanna has said.Poor Mum than had to tell me the truth. I was GUTTED :-( I think I must have been about 8 years old.
The way I kind of explained things to James when he asked me if there was an Easter Bunny and Father Xmas was to say if he believed , then to carry on believing and that I still liked to believe :-D.I think that did the trick that year :-D
Chris did his Speech with Fitz and is just gong to make one adjustment . I hope he is happy with it now as he was beginning to get very stroppy and stressed :-S :-S I had better post this now as I started it ages ago and have been up and down doing things. I dont want to lose it and have to do it all over again !!!

Evening All,
I can't get used to it getting dark so early.........it seems like bedtime will be soon.
That's great the lady has done your jacket and it has worked Jane. A few pearls to match those in your dress would look nice in your fascinator. I have a grey Tee shirt with a palm tree on that looks a bit drab and when I get chance it's going to get some bead embellishments. lol.
Oh Frank that would be a great present for you........I hope your hunch is right. :-) What a shame about your meal being ruined!
I can just imagine Sam writing to the Tooth Fairy Mel. She had to pay up quite a bit for 3 teeth in a week didn't she. :-D
OH brought me a COT in bed this morning as he usually does and said how he can see things that are close up much better with his new glasses. I looked up at him looking at me and he was sniggering and copying the pose of the 'Scream' painting! What a cheek !!! :-D I had to laugh though. We had a call from the garage at 8.15am to say they had my wheel bolts so I have collected them now and the chap who will drill out the old ones is going to see if he can do it Saturday morning. The garage is opposite the football ground where the helicopter crashed and the fences at the side were covered in football shirts. They have huge photos of the owner who was killed on the sides of the building too.
I have been booking OH train tickets on line to Birmingham for a meeting there he has on Friday. The station is in the next village and on my way to beading so I'll drop him off and pick him up later. He'll get there a bit early but will be quite happy browsing the book shops! I have already got him 14 books he wanted for Christmas, but that's all he wants really and looks for the bargain buys and any money off vouchers!! I bought him 'The Secret Barrister' at half price from W H Smith with a Telegraph voucher today. I've also ordered some new sheets from Dunelm as one of the 2 bottom sheets I ordered elsewhere a while ago lost it's elastic the first time I put it on the bed which was annoying. I've never had problems with Dunelm bedding or curtains.
I watched the heart operation that was on tv last night and thought it was really good so we are watching the second one tonight which is a knee replacement. A bit close to home, but should be interesting too. I forgot to say how painful it must have been for your BIL to get his leg in the car Mandy. I hope he can bend it enough without so much pain the next time he goes in the car. That sounds like an awful lot of staples.

Morning all,
Hello to David I did see you had popped in last night but I was so tired I did'nt comment and went to bed.
Had a lie in this morning. I heard oh get up and turned over and went back to sleep. Then when I woke again the clouds in the sky looked like a heard of white sheep against the blue. I lay and watched them for quite a while then when I got up I could'nt see properly for the spots before my eyes from lookinng at the brightness.
No Mandy yesterday, hope her foots alright and feeling better today.
Nearly all set for the off on the wedding front then Jane with just the fasiaters to sort out now. Was this a new lady you went to for the alterations? as if you were pleased with the coat maybe she can do your other bits you need doing sometimes like shortening trousers etc.
I sorted the noys stockings yesterday to make sure I could get everything in them and before I have wrapped them all they go in so that should be ok when I have wrapped them all I hope.
Still looking for the blimmin butterfly wings I ordered so I could do more Angels and I have looked just aout everywhere and still can't find them. I think they may have joined Ann's stick she lost after her holiday this year. I have askked for them back three times now and still nothing so I ordered another two sets but they won't come till well into December and maybe too late.
Whilst looking for them in my fileing draw last night I came across some photos of the top garden when it was in its swing. It looks so lovely with all the veg planted neatley. I must get oh to scan them for me so I can show you.

Good morning Mel, and all.
Another terrible night. Laid awake for hours, I was still awake at 4.30 am I was up and washed and dressed before 8.00 am.
After a few heated words this morning, I have relented, and we are going to Hastings. Ros and Carolyn think it would do me good to get away from the four walls. As much as I am not bothered about going, I know Ros will enjoy it.
Hi David, Hows tricks ?? Nice to see that you keep in touch with us, through reading the posts. It's marvellous hour we call things that happened so many years ago. This is part and parcel of why I don't sleep to well. I am lying thinking of all the childhood memories, and fears of the bombing. We lived in the area that was very close to the docks, and the Germans weren't always on target dropping the loads. so some ended up to close for comfort. SILLY OLD BU@@ER AREN'T I. ;-) ;-) ;-)
So the speech is almost word perfect then Jane. That must be a weight of his mind. It's nice also that your jacket is finished to your liking . ONLY a MONTH today, before their BIG DAY. I bet they are getting very excited, and hope there are no HIC CUPS with all the organisation.
Mel, haven't you got a contact number for the people who are supplying your BUTTERFLY WINGS. so you can chase them up, about the delivery.
I am not happy with the driving arrangements to Devon, but with Conrad taking me out in his car, and Jo not going back to Devon until Christmas Eve, I can't see any other way, but for Ros to drive.
Ann that's a lot of books for Gs Christmas Presents. Why doesn't he get a KINDLE and down load all the books he wants to read. ?? What does he do will his old books, once he's read them.?? Yes the nights are really drawing in now. We have the lights on before 4.00 pm.
I wrapped one of Ros's presents yesterday, and put the point of the scissors through my finger, so blood all over the paper, So had to do it again. Blow. !!!
Yes lets hope Mandy is alright, it's not like her not to pop in.
Hope you are felling a bit better this morning Gill. I'm sure the Dr. can give you something to help you. xxx
Shin of beef in a casserole all done, and sitting ready to go on later, Veg all done and the spuds, for mash. So that's me done for the day. I should go for a haircut, but I can't be bothered. Will get it done next week , before going to Simons on the SUNDAY. It will be best part of 28 years since I have seen my Nephews, Trevor and Brian. That would have been at their fathers funeral. Where have all these years gone ??
