Evening all,
It's been a real dreary old day here went to Makro this morning to stock up and it was so misty all the way there ,we always get DIL and son some bits which we treat them to so we dropped them in ,we also had some KFC at lunch time so i didn't cook tonight we just had a sandwich .
The little bit on Max'x eye looks like it has gone down so we didn't take him to the vets we'll keep an eye on it and see how it goes over the week end ,he might just have scratched it and it's now getting better ,we'll see .

So Frank has gone i do hope they all see eye to eye ,the break will do them good .

Oh no so you might need another tyre Ann if this spare doesn't stay pumped up .
I bet it's lovely to see the cats racing about ,i too had a smile at the cats TV :-D
The lady had a good find at the charity shop ,i love going in to have a look at the books ,i've also bought some lovely jigsaws for the children and when they've got fed up with them i take them back in.

The town hall looks a nice place for the wedding Jane ,it sounds like the back lining she has put in the jacket isn't quite wide enough across the back that would make the sleeves pull ,it just needs a slight adjustment .
I don't like those ads for all those poor animals i have to look away too.

You feeling better today Gill ?

I love a KFC chicken fillet Mandy :-D. Not keen on their chips though. Fitz loves a KFC :-D..It was a favourite of my Mum too .When Plymouth had the first KFC my Dad would drive all the way to Plymouth (9 miles) to get a takeaway for Mum :-D

So Max's eye is looking better and no need for a visit to the Vets. Thats good :-D. It couldn't be a blocked tear duct could it? We don't have Makro. I have never heard of it ! I bet your Son and DIL are pleased with the bits you have bought them :-D Is it a Supermarket?

Stil pretty miserable outside .Thomas has just come in looking pretty wet and he has given himself a good dry off and has now gone into the study to settle down on the settee .
Still waiting for James .He is going to be leaving pretty late tonight :-S

Jane I was saying to OH the other night why is it when we have a happy occasion coming up (Christmas!) do they try to thoroughly depress us with all the misery, starving, cruelty etc in the world. Everywhere you turn someone is collecting for something and at a time of the year when most people have the most expense and least spare dosh! It doesn't make sense. It's like Dick Turpin's in our Co-op this week. They hover round the door in packs, almost barring your way so you can't avoid them. I'm very tempted to say 'What's this......stand and deliver?' lol. ;-) Johnny's Happy Place has really taken off hasn't it and is such a good thing to have started. I sometimes have a peek at what they are doing on FB. My 'dream groom' when I was in my teens wore dark grey trousers, a black tailcoat, burgundy waistcoat and white shirt with a burgundy satin cravat and top hat!! I'm still dreaming. lol :-D

The cats are very good and don't seem to scrap, at least not when we are there. The older one doesn't seem to pin the little one down by his throat anymore. He used to squeak for his human 'mum' when that happened before, but I think he's big enough to wriggle free now. They love their toys that they have to work out how to get the treat or the toy out. You can see Rupert, the big cat, working it out and the little one lies with his nose close to the action watching patiently, but waits till the treat is released and grabs it.

Gill, Mel is good at find things isn't she. I have ancestors in Australia too and it is difficult tracing things. I haven't got worldwide subs to anything and have relied on what other people have on their trees up to now. OH left the meeting early as there was only the question and answer session left and he wasn't interested in that, so he got home sooner than I expected so I didn't get much done. He said the trains were packed and boiling hot and what with the walking to the venue and back and then home from the station, he has the start of a blister and aching legs so he jumped in the bath.

Hope G had a good soak and is now feeling better Ann. I hav'nt got world wide subs either I am getting this off someone elses tree on Ancestry but Gill knows that.

I agree with you Ann about the ads on the telly about starving and mistreated animals. I hate to see them and if oh is out here he turns it over for me. Its the donkeys that get me with those heavy loads and overgrown hooves. I also hate the one where the little person goes for water and drinks some and then they show a cow peeing in the water. That really digusts me.

I do hope Ros and Frank had a comfort break onthe way to Hastings this time as I think before they did'nt get one.

Morning all,

Just got dressed. Had a good sleep in this mor ning. Its a miserable day with no sign of it brightening up just grey grey sky but I think yesterdays wind has dropped.

Hope Frank and Ros had a good easy trip down to Hastings and John is'nt being a pain.

Where are the weeks going? This week has shot past to me. Now we are half way through November and not a long whie until Christmas now. I better get my head into gear and do up some more presents instead of mucking around with my crafts. It will soon be time to do the wreaths.

Morning All,

Lovely and sunny here just now which is good. :-D

Mel, his poor legs didn't get much time to recover as he had to pump my front tyre up this morning; it only had half the pressure it should have, but is fine now and the warning light has gone off. I rang the chap at 9.00am this morning and he said he could do the bolts for me so we took my car to him. He seems to be an Alfa Romeo specialist and had old cars in the garage he was restoring. I only had to mention I had an Alfa Romeo once and it having a flat four engine and his face lit up and we were like old buddies. It only took about half an hour to get the 4 bolts out and replace them. I told him what price the dealership had quoted and he said they don't even do the work themselves either.........they send the vehicles to HIM to do it!! All I need to do now is pop back to the tyre place on Monday and get them to put the spare with the new tyre on the front. At least there won't be this palaver again.

OH is off to a match off the M6 about 50 miles away. I have to post one of MIL's posh saucepans to someone. I've started advertising some of the stuff we have cluttering the place up and this is the first thing to go. :-) Better get a move on the P.O closes at 12.30pm!

One down Ann and how many more to go????????

Its good you have your tyre all sorted now. Poor G having to pump up another tyre for you. We have one of those tyre pumps you plug in the ciggy lighter and it does it for you. You need to get one of those and then G won't have his legs worn out again. Always handy to have for us when we live out in the middle of knowhere.

Afternoon All

The post arrived this morning Mel :-D :-D

It seems to be brightening up a bit here now and the sun is gradually breaking through .So Chris will be out in the garden later .

Ann,I bet you made that chaps day with him being an Alfa Romeo fan and specialist.
At least now all your tyres and bolts are sorted. How is OH's blister? The best blister plasters are Compeed .They come in a little plastic box.I always take them on holiday as they help prevent blisters too. So you are beghinning to get rid of all the household things from the inlaws house.I remember you saying when you were clearing out how many new and used pans etc you found . I bet you will be able to sell a lot and make some badly needed space in your garage :-D

Mel I think this year has just gone so fast and I am finding it really quite scary. One week has gone before you can blink or say Jack Robinson !!

Chris has done the ironing while I have been out
:-D. What a good husband he is.He seems to have taken over that role just lately which I have no complaints about at all :-D. I picked up my prescriptions ,then went to Aldi to get some wines .I found some lovely Venison Steaks too which were really well priced so I got 3 packs and will make a Venison Casserole at some point.I have a smashing recipe for that.
Then I went along to Asda for some Diesel .Its gone up a bit now from when the new petrol station opened but it is still one of the cheapest places.Popped into the store for a few bits and I got some de icer for the cars (as it is going be getting very cold next week)I wasnt sure what we had left at home from last winter. They have real Xmas trees for sale there now :-0 :-0 :-0.... Come on!! we are only mid way through flipping November !!!!!. I did a Victor Meldrew and said to myself"I don't belieeeeve it"

The sun is shining now although a bit hazy and my windows look appalling :-S :-S

Did you open the parcel??????????????????????????????????????

Annx Report 17 Nov 2018 15:35

I have to confess Mel that we do have those digital air pumps that fit on the cigarette lighter. We got them just after I got this car, The trouble is neither of us had got round to working through the instructions and trying them out yet, so to be quick this morning the foot pump was easier. You can often get yourself home by blowing a tyre up a few times or to somewhere safer if you are down a lane somewhere, which must be most of the time where you live. I can feel a New Year's resolution coming on. :-S I must get the car washed after the wheel is swapped on Monday. Between them all, my 'helpers' have left mucky, oily finger prints all over it.

G never even mentioned his blister this morning Jane, so it can't be too bad. Mind you his mind this morning was on whether we would be done in time for him not to miss his footie, so his own 'footie' would have been less important to him. :-D I will get some of those plasters though, as you never know when you might need one. It's good letting go of the ironing isn't it! I have to turn a blind eye to a few things that wouldn't get a 10/10, but most of the time it doesn't matter and saves a job.

There must be at least 10 pans/poacher etc I brought into the conservatory and I know there are 2 complete sets of saucepans still in the garage so there's a way to go with clearing just those. If they don't sell, then after Christmas I shall take them to the next household sale at the auction. I was going to do it before and we can't keep hoarding all the stuff and could use the space better as you say. It is only about 3 miles away and is in the old mushroom farm buildings and run by Mick and Den who took away some of MIL's furniture for us at the time and were very good and helpful. It's only been there a couple of years but seems very well attended and saves going to either of the city ones.

I had to smile at Sandra having a 'Cat TV' too. It must be the latest thing! lol. :-) You could get some bird boxes next for Sandra so she can watch what happens with those.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 17 Nov 2018 15:54

I have a "Cat TV" over my sink in the kitchen and the programs are very good on it. The high jinks of Norman Nuthatch and Woody Woodpecker are the favorites at the moment. Then there Percy Pigeon who bathes in the birdbath with such grace lifting his wings to get to his wing pits. Boris Blackbird bathes in the soak tray over behind my pond so he's not on the TV but Robby Robin goes in it outside the kitchen window and the water goes flying.

Annx Report 17 Nov 2018 18:18

Ha ha, another Cat TV then Mel. :-) You have a great variety on yours, but not the Squirrels?

I wonder if Frank has had to bite his lip yet? :-0 If his weather has been like here it will have been a nice day for him.

I hope Max's eye has settled down on it's own now so he won't need the vet. I sat in the car in the carpark with the park in front when I fetched the papers today. A man drove in next to me with 2 collies and a jack russell all barking their heads off no doubt excited at seeing the park!! I thought 'stand back everyone when he opens the back as they will be jumping out and off over the grass like a shot.' Well, when he opened the back door of the hatchback, a hush descended and they were lined up on the edge, ready for the 'off'.' He walked back to the front of the car and rummaged around reappearing with a bunch of rope leads. The dogs were silently waiting and hadn't moved an inch or even whimpered. Then he lifted down one of the collies (a bit old and stiff!) but the others still didn't move till he told them to. What good dogs. :-)

I've done a bit more tidying and sorting in here so now it's time for some telly. Looking forward to Strictly tonight at Blackpool.

O yes Ann I do have secret Squirrel sometimes too. He has ruined my peanut feeder. Between him and the Woodpecker they manage to get the bottom horizontol line of the wire loose so I had to sew it up with my binding wire. I shall have to try Gill's trick with the vasaline up the pole.

There was a dead squirrel in the road today about two doors along.

Must get on now and start the steak for tonight.

Gillx

Gillx Report 17 Nov 2018 19:02

That's a good idea Ann getting some bird boxes for Sandra to keep an eye on. We had the squirrel back again last night and today, he managed to jump on the top of the feeder and hang upside down to get to the nuts, so I've put some more Vaseline on it so when he came back he slipped off. I then put some nuts on the grass for him to eat, as the pigeon get the nuts before him off the other bird table. Yes Sandra loves her TV she said it's much better than having to stand up to watch the birds, this way she can just sit back on the sofa and watch them in comfort.

Pleased to see you have your tyre and bolts sorted now, fancy ending up at the fella who fixes it anyway.

It sounds like you have a TV for the wildlife to Mel, with so much going on by what you were saying.

I hope Frank and Ros are having a nice time away.

You're lucky having Chris doing your ironing Jane, I think my OH is allergic to our iron LOL.

I've just heard a firework going off, I thought we'd heard the last of them until the new year.

Well, we didn't have the new neighbours moving in yesterday like we thought. Apparently it's going to be on my birthday, next Friday 23rd. I wonder what they're going to be like. They have brought a lot of plants and put them down the side of the bungalow, so it looks like they maybe keen gardeners like me. We still haven't seen them yet, just the plants they brought.

There's lot of fireworks going off now, it's very loud.

Morning all

Cold here, they say we might be in for snow and frost next week.

It looks like I'm the first one on here today, that hasn't happened for a while.

I'm going to have another go on my family tree again, it might the day I have a breakthrough. Thanks Mel for your help the other day, I had made one or two small mistakes and thanks to your help they are sorted and correct now.

What is everyone else up to today?

Morning Gill and all,

We have sunshine this morning but I think we had frost in the night. I went to bed at 25 past 11 last night as I could'nt keep my eyes open. Got up twice in the night and fell asleep again straight away and finerlygot up at 10.25am. So I can't say I hav'nt had enough sleep can I ? I must have needed it though to have slept that long.
