Yea what a right palaver today with Genes. If is was their certificate that had run out that sounds pretty shoddy to me :-S :-|.If it was do with security of all our personal info being hacked into then that was a bit worrying.
So John was in his usual good form (not). It just seems to me he is only intersested in number one..himself. Sorry you didnt feel 100% .I know you had wished you werent going. Nice for Ros and Carolyn to have some girl time together even with poor Carolyn in her big boot. They are quite cumbersome arent they. I dint think you were going ot bringing back your bedding to wash again Frank. I would be embarssed if my guests offered to do that.
Looks like Sunday is going to be a lovely day for you meeting up with your Nephews are soooo many years. The meal Simon and Sally are putting on sounds amazing .You wont be able to move after all that. Treacle Tart or Crumble for you? You have got me hankering after a bit of Treacle Tart now. I cant remember when I last tasted that.
Ann you must be like me and if I doze off around 6am again I tend to go into quite a deep sleep. This happens most mornings after maybe being awake for an hour or so after Thomas has gone out. Good job OH was there to get you moving for your appointment. Last job done with the tyres now? Your warning light was probably just settling down and the computer resetting itself(is it a computer? )
Sandra sounds as pleased as punch with the jingly pen from Mel :-DI expect she is wondering what might be in the other little pressies :-D.. Not too long to wait Sandra :-D
I took in 2 big boxes for next door today.I think they both had bottles of booze in for Xmas.It was addressed to the youngest daughter. She came around just now to pick them up and came with the 2 dogs. One the BIGGEST German Shepherd called Caiser and a tiny thing Chuihaua(sp) X . The big boy was as soft a soap and just wanted fussing. Alice carried these 2 very heavy boxes off like a builder LOL .I couldnt believe it as even the delivery chap struggled with them. I bet Thomas will smell the dog on me when he comes in.He has still not been right today . Hardly left the house at all ,but is eating fine.So I am too worried. I just think all the big machinery digging up neighbours gardens on his patch might have just freaked him out a bit.
I thought it was going to feel colder than I had expected today. But even colder I dont think it has been that bad. Tomorrow might be a different matter. I wore my new Coatigan when I nipped out to the post office this morning . I really like it and it is not as heavy as wearing a thick coat. I will be wearing it to go to London on Saturday with a thin top underneath. New dish for Chris and Me tonight. Smoked Haddock with a Cheese and Mustard Sauce. I have no idea what it will be like.New Potatoes and veg. James hates fish so he has Meatloaf and Sweet Potato Chips and veg.
Tomorrow I will be going to take my jacket back to the lady and pick up the fascinator. I do hope this one will be ok otherwise I shall just give up and wear nothing in my hair.
My friend has her new 7 hens, and hopefully they are beginning to settle into their new surroundings. I gave my thoughts on names for the new Girls.. Annie,Belle/Bella,Clara,Daisy,Evie.Flo and Gretal.
Ann that is rather disappointing to find the trees and shrubs next door cut down :-( It is going to be a different outlook now for you. So Mrs Overall is still pecking her nose about :-D :-D. I bet she is the talk of the Close !!!

I see we are back online now. I did try after lunch but still could'nt get on here so went and did a load of ironing. Thats out of the way now and dinners on. Baggy Bol out of the freezer so I only have to warm that up and cook the sketti and toast the garlic bread.
Please dthe car is all back to normal now Ann and I bet you are too. Good you did'nt have to pay anything else.
Glad Sandra liked the pen. It had three different coloured big bells on the top embeded in green tinsel and red and white ribbon twirled down t the pen bit. I thought of Sandra the moment I saw it. When I did the parcel up and took it to the post van she said "O jingle bells" so I told her what it was that was jingleing.
Sorry you did'nt feel too good over the weekend stay at Hastings Frank. Did you get stuck with John as you did'nt go out? Sounds like Ros enjoyed it with Carolyn anyway.
The meal sound very nice at Simon and Sally's can I come. I have'nt made a treacle tart for ages now and I am sure oh would like one. May do that with the extra pastry left over when I do the next pie. I always wonder what to do with it.
Still not found the butterflies .........
Enjoyed Escape to the Chateau last night and only watched the first one so I may see the next one tonight. I also have my Outlander tonight and a couple of glasses of wine from Saturday night to go with it.

Evening all,
I see some of you have posted so i thought i'd post ,what a to do all day makes you wonder how much longer Genes will go on :-(
We seem to have had a day of phone calls to one place or another doesn't half annoy me when they play that tinny old music . I'm of to Norwich Christmas shopping with DIL again tomorrow ,Wednesday is a free day so far and then Thursday we have a new Washing machine coming so we have to wait in for that ,my washer has got so noisy when it spins it's the bearings i think i've had it quite a while so we thought we'd get a new one .
Frank what a nasty man that John seems to be fancy not asking how his wife is after breaking bones ,i bet if it was him with broken bones he'd want waiting on hand and foot !!! Shame you didn't feel so good so you couldn't have a walk by the sea . Sounds as if your going to have a right feast when you go to Simon ans Sally :-D
I had to smile at your Mrs Overall Ann :-D you'll have to mind you don't call her that if she stops to talk :-D That's good you've got the car all sorted now and with nothing to pay even better
I like your Chicken names Jane i see you've gone through the alphabet :-D Your Smoked Haddock with a Cheese and Mustard Sauce sound nice ,is it a recipe you've found or a ready meal ? Alice sounds just like my DIL she will pick boxes up that are heavy like there's nothing in them :-D

Mel I enjoy Dick and Angel in The Chateau , but I do find their exuberance and amazing love of life there quite exhausting !!!!!. It is almost like they are Super Human with all they do. They are an incredible couple and their children must have to put up with a lot .We never see if the children have friends to play with .They are part of the family after all... Dicks Moustache is soooo big.You cant see his mouth. He just looks like a loveable Walrus. :-D

Yes I did go by Alphabet order for the names for the new Hens :-D I was on a roll there LOL . Not sure my friend will choose any of them though as she tends to have rather posher names .The house one is Polly -Marie !!
The Smoked Haddock in that sauce was lovely Mandy. Aldi !!!! not my own.It was less than £3 .Not huge bits of fish but really tasty. Chris said to get it again :-D So a success :-D Enjoy your Christmas Shopping tomorrow . Bet you are looking forward to the new washing machine :-D Bearings are never good news :-S These days nothing lasts for too long when it comes to the White goods.
James is home so I hope his dinner hasn't dried up :-S
I need to the Vets tomorrow to get Worm treatment for Thomas. He has eaten like a pig and is just so out of sorts so I think he might have worms now. :-S :-S

What a great gift for Sandra Mel and it sounds as if she is really enjoying the 'jingle jingle'. lol
Yes Mandy I shall have to be careful not to say 'Mrs Overall' if I chat to the neighbours won't I. She is the only neighbour we have a pet name for, but these things can just slip out so easily! I hope you have some comfy shoes for your shopping trip tomorrow. It will be good if you can get things before the Christmas rush starts. I hate the music they play too and the interruptions when you think someone is finally answering, but it's just a message to say how they value your custom. :-S
What's this 'Annie' for the chicken's name then Jane?? You made me cluckle, oh no I meant chuckle!! I nearly laid an egg. lol. :-D :-D :-D Those coatigans do look lighter and less cumbersome than a coat. Fingers crossed the lady gets your fascinator just right for you.
Frank it must have been no surprise that John didn't ask Carolyn how she was. What a game it must be having to wear the boot and a bit tiring to walk with it I would think. I hope you feel a bit better now you are home and the meal at Simon and Sally's sounds lovely. I think it would be apple crumble for me. :-)

Coat usually goes dull when they have worms Jane. A treatment is always a good idea for a hunter such as Thomas though.
Good luck with the Christmas shopping Mandy, hope you find what your looking for.
Its supposed to be really really cold tomorrow and the east wind is back with abundance. If your going out like me make sure you wrap up well.

Morning all,
Nice to be able to get on here in the morning as it starts my day.
Weathers not too good this morning though we have grey clouds and I think it may have been raining in the night. There's no cold wind even though they said it would be here today and feeling coder than ever.
Shopping day AGAIN I still don't know where the weeks go. It seems to me that it is shopping day every other day.
Enjoyed Dick and Angel last night and my Outlander.
Slept like a log again too just up once for the bathroom.

Good Morning Mel, and all you other SWEET THINGS. xxx
Bitter cold wind here Mel, we have had rain too. Won't bother me, as I'm not going out.
The men who did Pam's front and driveway have left the gutter on the road full of cement, which has dried and when Ros drives in or out it leaves tyre prints down the drive. They have also left lots of edging stuff between the fence on the drives. I will leave Ros to have A GENTLE WORD with Pam. The chances are I will be far to abrupt, and likely to say what's on my mind. I certainly don't want to be looking out on that mess. :-| :-| :-| :-|
Ros has gone to have her nails done this morning, and it's Mothers Club tonight. Flower arranging. So home alone again. lol lol.
Last wekend I had a very strong pain down my right side, so didn't want to go out. I sat reading while his "LORDSHIP" was on his computer all day. The only time he speaks is to TELL Carolyn when he wants to eat , or a coffee.
Who's are all the chickens Jane,?? What made you decide to name them. Lewis named the four chickens I had the other year. I think I would look amazed if a young lady humped big boxes like you described. SUPER WOMAN comes to mind. lol. I know I couldn't do it anymore.
I love the name for your neighbour Ann. Yes you must be careful who you talk to. !!
Out spending then Mandy, I loved Norwich when I was stationed at OLD CATTON. I would go into town whenever I was off duty, looking round the Castle and Cathedral . Then it was a beautiful City. What's it like now ??
Have had a nice shower and shave. Now I will sign off and get dressed. Stay warm everyone.

Afternoon All on a verry cold and miserable day here. We have the Woodburner going. Fitz has been and picked up the walking poles for his holiday in Pembrokeshire . I took my Jacket back to the lady and she could see what the problem was . Mandy you were quite right about it being a bit too tight across the back :-D. So she has released stitching there and also on the sleeve bits.I am happy with the fascinator now :-D . I can see a few little bits of glue though so am just going to colour those over with navy felt tip :-D
Mel you are lucky to have sun today. Its grim here :-S
Oh Frank yes hold your tongue!!!!! I am sure Ros will be able to say something to Pam about the mess left behind without causing offence :-D :-D
I bet Mandy will be on her knees after Xmas shopping today.I will only be getting a few little pressies from the shops for Xmas. Most is done on line .But this year things are so different as I have paid £100 towards Jess's Tux,and then with Hannah and Gareth being away on their Honeymoon for Xmas we have decided to buy theatre tickets for a play in London. Chris has bought a Dash Cam for James. I have got some toiletries but other than that I don't know what else he might like .
That was lovely Mel to have a to have a lovely thankyou letter from Sandra :-D
Frank the Chickens are new lot for my very rather eccentric friend down in Plymouth .I can't even begin to describe what she is like or what the bungalow is like either !!!. Hoarder is one thing. 4 Cats and an indoor Hen!!. I was just going through names I thought might be nice for her new Girls and went from A to G with there being 7 of them. Ann you made me Cluckle too :-D :-D.
It is only 3.15 and it feels like the middle of the night here :-S It is soooo dark :-S Will send a pic of the Fascinator.

Hi all, What a miserable day it has been. At 2.30 I put all the side lights on, everywhere was so dark.
That reminds me Jane, I bought a dash cam for Ros ages ago. It sits in the conservatory. NOT much change of recording an ACCIDENT in there. I must put it in her car.
Ros was complaining to Val (SID'S Wife) about the mess down our drive and how dirty the Windows and sills are, from all the cement dust. They still haven't parked their cars on the driveway. I suppose they don't think it's dry enough yet. PERHAPS IN THE SPRING. Silly old FAR@S. I makes you wonder about people.
One of my friends wife's died over the weekend, it's a blessing really as she has been so ill. She was a founder member of the MOTHERS CLUB so thewoman are going to do some sort of memorial plaque for her, to put in the Village hall.
Nice easy dinner tonight. Pork Chops, Jacket spuds, coleslaw and a bit of cheese and salad.
Will have to get the oven on, as Madam is out before 7.00 pm.
Hope you got all your xmas shopping Mandy, and you still have some money left. lol
I forgot to mention you this morning Gill. I trust you are well, and pleased that Sandra liked the present from Auntie Mel. xxx
No doubt I won't bee bee back on this evening, but I might surprise you. xxxx

Afternoon All,
Drismal day here too and quite chilly when we went to our lunchtime carvery at Ullesthorpe. Sharron was busy so didn't serve us today so we didn't get an extra biscuit. :-S We were later than usual and an older (than me!) chap got on our nerves as he was leaning across me, was one side of me then round the other as he was serving himself from the carvery, then barged in front of OH to get gravy. In the end I asked if it was a dance he was looking for? :-S No manners! We popped in the garden centre nearby then came home. OH was going to footie with a pal tonight but when we got home his pal had left a message to say he wasn't well, so OH has decided to stay in in the warm tonight. :-)
Frank after our next door neighbour had his trees and shrubs cut right back yesterday, the man used his chainsaw to cut everything on his trailer small to get it all on and he was parked nearest to our front garden. All our shrubs are evergreen so make no leaf mess, but now our gravel, borders and driveway are covered in leaves. John wasn't much company was he........but maybe that was a good thing!
That was nice you got a card from Sandra Mel! She always sends a thank you which is lovely of her. <3
The final fascinator will go well with your outfit Jane. Just your jacket to be eased out on the lining and you should be all set for the day! :-) I must ask my friend again what her hens are called as I've forgotten. I know she lost a Bantam cock and that he was called Elvis!
Our pretty thatched bank in the village has closed! All the signs on it have been taken down so I wonder what will happen to it now? It is a bit small to be used as a shop I think.
Pizza with salad tonight. OH has decided that as he isn't going out he can join me and have half my Pizza!! :-0

Evening all
Cold here today, colder than it's been for a long time.
Glad you liked the card Mel. It arrived quickly it was only posted at 3pm yesterday. Sandra's pleased you like it and yes it was written with the jingle pen. As soon as she opened it she was off making you the thank you card.
Mum came around today with my birthday card and one off my sister which I was surprised about as she hasn't spoken to me hardly all year. Sandra asked mum why she wasn't coming around on Friday, to which mum said "why what's happening Friday?" Sandra said it's mum's birthday, to which she replied "Oh I'm busy". At least I got a card, but Sandra is very upset that none of the family are bothered about my birthday. I've told her it's fine, even though it isn't, but I don't want her to be upset, so we're going to put the Christmas tree up that day to cheer her up. I don't like seeing her unhappy.

Evening all,
What a dreary old day ,it wasn't to bad first thing in Norwich but by lunch time it was raining quite heavily and as we'd got all we wanted in the shops we came home . I bought Jake a nice dressing gown and Lewis a new coat ,some clothes for the girls leggings and tops some bits and pieces for Katie's birthday a nice little purse and some Minnie Mouse ear muffs ,we went into the Disney shop and i bought Lacey a nice little Frozen play set ,they have some lovely toys in there but my goodness some are a price ,over a hundred pounds for some of the sets .
Jane your fascinator looks just right the lady has done a good job the little pearls in the middle finish it off nicely ,is that every thing done now ? I wondered if it was the lining in the jacket pulling so the sleeves weren't quite right ,it's good she's sorted that out for you . We're off to Aldi tomorrow so i'll have a look for the Smoked Haddock in the sauce, was it in the chiller cabinet or frozen ?
That was nice of Sandra to send the thank you card Mel it's one to keep .
Poor Sandra she does worry about you Gill she's so caring isn't she ,i'm sure she'll make sure you have a lovely birthday ,has she picked a nice chocolate cake for your birthday tea :-D Popped your card in the post this morning .
Frank that mess from the cement will take a while to clear i suppose it's where they cleaned their mixer or buckets out and they tipped them out on the road thinking it would wash away . Norwich has good and bad bits Frank ,there's lots of rough sleepers about ,one poor chap sat out in the rain as we came from the bus he was still there when we went back later he must have been soaked through .
Ann i think OH is doing the right thing keeping in the warm tonight it's really bitter out there with the wind . How rude of that chap to keep stretching round you like that ,i think i would have given a big sigh and said which side do you want to be as i'm trying to get my meal here !!!

How rude of that man stretching around you Ann. It sounds like you had a nice time in the end though.
Yes, Mandy Sandra is going to buy the flake cake she likes for my birthday, it's chocolate so a favourite for all of us. :-) It sounds like you've been busy at the shops and bought some nice things. Yes, I noticed when we went shopping how expensive things are nowadays.
Frank how did Ros get on complaining to Val, hope something can be done about the mess without falling out with anyone? You did make me smile when you said the dash cam was still in the conservatory, like you said it's not much use in there, much better in the car. ;-)
So is your jacket all sorted now then Jane? I'm looking forward to seeing a pic of you in all your outfit, if you take one. I put our tree up on my birthday as Sandra can't wait any longer, I've done it for a few years now so she's used to it and I don't normally do anything on my birthday anyway, so it's better than sitting around doing nothing all day.

We had a bit of sun this morning but then it went all dark again. As I went shopping there was a tiny bit of rain in the air but when I came out of Morrisons it was fine steady rain. We hav'nt had much wind today but its still been quite cold.
So you are happy with the fasinater now then Jane? It looks nice so now your all ready for the big day.
I have my lovely card on my desk and I can see it out of the corner of my eye sitting here typing.
Sounds like you had a good shop today Mandy. Have you got everything now? I bet you were tired out when you got home.
Ann I think I shoud have said something to that man. Blimmin cheek leaning across you like that. I am surprised G did'nt say anything I know my oh would have.
I went to Asda first to see if they had the little tiny Christmas cake I buy for aunty Joy but they did'nt have them in yet!!!! Then I went into the Poundstretcher for some Christmas flowers and they did'nt have any so I bought a bit of bird food and came out and went to Lidl. Got some bacon and bits and bobs but there was nothing in the way of bits for oh so I only came out with shopping. In Morrisons they had no iceberg lettuce for oh's lunches or Little Gem so I had to buy a soft lettuce. I don't think he is going to like that much in his wraps. By the time I had finished it was dark for the drive home which I don't really like.
When I got home oh had shut the big girls in for me and he had corned them earlier but not the poor bantams so they went to bed without their corn supper. He won't so them as they make a run for it if your not careful and they don't like oh. I shall have to give them something nice in the morning to compensate. They did have their pellets in there so they won't go hungry, bless. I shall give them some curcumber in the morning as they like that.
Just went outside to see if the hog had been and turned the wrong light on and there were two deer eating the apples in the orchard.
