HW is on the cards for today and I may do some more presents up as I have only done one of the boys stocking so far. I can't remember if I told you little Sam is 6 and George is 9 but is more like an 11 year old. I can remember being 9.

Slept well and got up once in the night.

Are you all frozen?

Gillx Report 21 Nov 2018 10:38

Morning Mel, morning all

Very cold again here today and dull with it. We had rain yesterday not sure if we'll have more today.

It sounds like you were busy yesterday with your shopping Mel, pity you couldn't find everything you needed though.

I've decided to have a good go at my family tree today, I've got lots of messages all at the same time with various bits of information on, so I'm going to go through it all and put it on my tree. With a bit of luck I'll be close to finishing this bit of my tree soon. I haven't heard back from the messages I sent for ages and now they've all arrived at the same time, like bus's, you wait for ages then three turn up at once lol ;-) I hope it was worth the wait and they have the information in them I need.
Well, I'd better go and read them all now. I'll try and get back on here later. Hope everyone is okay and slept well last night.

I meant to ask on Sandra's behalf, she'd like to know what everyone's favourite colour is, she keeps asking me when she makes cards for people but I don't know, so everyone gets PINK as that is her favourite colour.

As you noticed Mel, yours was pink and very glittery, she likes her stickers and glitter doesn't she?

I thought I'd ask so I can let her know when she wakes up. She's started sleeping in again, now she's back in her own bedroom.

Frank Report 21 Nov 2018 10:47

Good morning Mel, and all my friends.

No sunshine here Mel, cloudy with miserly damp in the air. Ros was hoping to get some washing done, and out on the line, but I can't see that happening. She will have to dry it on the airer in the conservatory.

It's my haircut time again. I'm going to feel chilly when this lot comes off, I can't remember the last time I had it cut. I think it was in May, before going to Spain.

I have a 33% off voucher at a pub close to my hairdressers, so we will have lunch out today. NO cooking tonight for me. !!!

I had a good night last night apart from getting out twice for the loo.

Mel I can remember being 4 years old, and taken to RAY LODGE SCHOOL up Snakes Lane. We had to rest every afternoon on the camp beds. I think being raised during the WAR ,gave me a very good memory of my childhood. I can often retrace stories from those years.

Going to post this, and read the posts from yesterday, so will be back shortly.

Frank

Frank Report 21 Nov 2018 11:30

Not much going on then, Good that OH put the girls to bed, that saved you a job in the dark.

Like you Mel, Ros hates to drive in the dark, also in the setting sun. On Sunday coming back from the carvery was absolute HELL. The sun visors just didn't stop the sun, as it was getting so low in the sky.

Mandy I just realised it was SIXTY YEARS AGO when I was posted to OLD CATTON. Do you ever go that way.?? the last time I was passed there, they had built a housing estate where the camp was.

Gill sorry to hear Sandra is upset about nobody coming to see you on your birthday. We will all be with you, in our thoughts and spirit. xxx

I have just asked Ros to wrap her Christmas presents.I make such a mess doing it myself, and was so much wrapping paper.

We haven't seen Pam or Denis to speak to,about the mess left by his workmen.I will have to get a spade to scrape up all the dried cement left in the gutter.

It seems to be as cold as yesterday, Ros just opened the conservatory door and the cold air has made me shiver.

We will take Simon's and Sally's Christmas presents over on Sunday. That will be some out of the way. I expect he will give us ours, when we meet up for my Birthday Bash on the 21st.

Poor Ros is having one of her "TURNS" The sweat just pours from her face, and runs down her face. She must have words with the Dr. next time she sees him.

Our dinning room table is chocablock with presents. Carolyn said, she would invite herself and John round for Sunday Lunch, just to see the table empty. NO WAY !!!

My washing is just about to go on the line.

I have fed the wildies, chickens and bantams and thawed out the water in the houses and bird bath. All frozen solid this morning.

My favorite colours are Lilac, blue and green. I like lilac and green together.

I think Ann likes teal (which is a sort of emeraldy green but darker) and lilac and mauve but she could put me right!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 21 Nov 2018 12:20

Gosh Frank you don't want to have him round do you?

I have sent you all a pic of Sandra's card she made me. All except Gill who has seen it in real life! :-D :-D :-D

Gillx

Gillx Report 21 Nov 2018 13:38

Thanks Mel I've just told Sandra the colours you like and she's written it down, she's making a list of everyone's favourite colours to keep. She did ask me what type of green and blue are your favourites?

Sandra hopes everyone likes her card.

Sorry to hear Ros is having one of her turns Frank, I hope she's feeling a bit better now. So it's a "No" to John and Carolyn coming around, I don't blame you with what you've told us about John. I must get around to finishing off the wrapping of my Christmas presents I've got a few to do for Sandra, everything else is done. Then I need to make a start on my Christmas cards.

Talking about cards one arrived for me this morning, I assume it's the one off you Mandy. I've given it to Sandra as she keeps hold of all my cards until my birthday. She'll be buying the flake birthday cake tomorrow. I'm determined to make her happy on Friday. I'm used to my family and I don't want Sandra upset by them. She's looking forward to putting the Christmas tree up. We have a 7ft snow tree that takes ages to decorate, so that'll keep us busy for a while.

I've been going through my messages for the family tree, so will go now and start adding them to my tree.

Afternoon All

Oh what a pretty card Mel had from Sandra. Its lovely :-D :-D Gill I love Teal and any green colour also plummy purples. You should have my card very soon .
That is a big tree to decorate !!. Your house is going be looking so festive on you Birthday . I am sorry about your family not coming to see you for your Birthday :-SHopefully Sandra will forget all that when she starts decorating the tree :-D

Poor Ros and her horrible turn today. Does it last long and were you able ot get out for lunch ? I can just imaging your face re Carolyn wanting invite themselves for Sunday lunch !!!!!!.. I bet you said No Way Hose :-D :-D

Its freezing here now.Chris decided ot light the woodburner this afternoon. At first `I said not to bother but I'm glad he did now :-D.. I was back at Rushen Lakes AGAIN this morning to return a couple of things and swap a long shirt top .The one I had bought had reaaly dodgy stitches around the top of the sleeve.Luckliy there was another in my size so it was just a straight top. I saw a lovely Dress Ring too today and thought it would be nice to wear for the wedding,I cant wear my engagement ring now as my fingers had got too podgy :-S I can get it on but its a devil to get off again and I daren't risk getting it stuck.

All us girls have had to buy a small gift for Hannah ( up to a fiver) Something related to married life... It could be funny ,rude or just whatever. I bought a pack of Ear Plugs :-D and the note to go with them I have written These are for when you REALLY need a bit of peace and quiet ..especially when Gareth has the Sports Channel on :-D. Hannah has to quess who has given each gift.I just hope she doesnt recognise my handwriting. I did try and change it.
Chris has set up the App on my phone for Uber Taxis. So I am pleased about that although I shall have to make sure someone is with me for the first time I order a Cab. Its all new technology to me :-S :-S I am such a Dinosaur when it comes to new things like this.

Chris found a Big Rabbit with Rigor Mortis beside the Grey bin when he went to put the recycing bins out. I wonder who on earth could have left it there ;-) ;-)

Chicken Kievs,Parmetier Potatoes and various veg for us all tonight.I dont feel at all hungry yet. I had toast and Pate for lunch and it is still in my tum. Phew I am getting a bit warm now .The fire doesn't have chuck out some heat .

Hair cut for me tomorrow afternoon 4pm ! It will be getting dark by then :-S I am wondering if it might be free parking in town as it is normally the last 3 thursdays in Nov for Xmas shopping (if they still do it ) what with shops closing left right and centre.

Evening all,

What chilly day even with the little bit of sun ,i see some places have had snow !!!

What a beautiful card Sandra has made ,lots of rainbow colours with pretty butterflies and hearts you can see she has put lots of thought into making it.
My colours are blues and purples .
So Friday is decorating day then Gill ,when will Sandra decorate her little tree in her bedroom ?

Hope Ros is feeling better now Frank these turns are not very nice for her ,were you able to go out for lunch ?

Oh that's a brilliant idea getting the ear plugs Jane :-D i wonder what the others will get ,there will be plenty of laughs when she opens them all i'm sure .

We went to see sister and BIL this afternoon ,he's getting on well ,still on the crutches but he says he feels steadier using them
Went shopping this morning couldn't find the Smoked Haddock in there Jane and there was no one about filling up to ask so i'll have another look next week ,perhaps your Aldi is a bigger store than ours so they have more choice .

Don't know if it's a full moon out there tonight Jane to cold to open the door to
look :-0

Jane

Jane Report 21 Nov 2018 19:45

Mandy it was James who came up with the idea of ear plugs,, He said she only hears what she wants to hear LOL I couldn't say that on my little note so just changed it to the Sky Sports thing :-D
Your BIL sounds like he is doing really well :-D My Sister is still struggling big time :-S
One of Hannah's friends are buying a big pair of pants(Bridget Jones) for the gift :-D She says once married there is no need for fancy /thongs..just comfort :-D :-D Brilliant :-D
Dinner nearly ready . Thomas is out looking at the big Moon :-S

Annx

Annx Report 21 Nov 2018 21:50

Evening All,

Brrr it's been very cold here too. I just went out to look at the moon and noticed a few of the folk up the close have covered their windscreens. I should do mine too really as I want to be out early in the morning. The moon did look very bright but I couldn't get a good photo. I also noticed 2 more new wall pots have been put up at Mrs Overall's opposite, also a new house number in grey on a grey background. I suppose the old number with 'Two Pines' written on it was outdated since they chopped the pines down! :-) She's had those metal butterlies attached to the side wall of the bungalow which I'm not keen on. I've seen too many on the side of council houses that were in rough areas when I worked!! lol To be fair though she does keep everywhere swept and cleaned more than we do.

Those turns Ros has must be a bit worrying Frank. I hope they pass quickly as they don't sound very nice. I had to smile at Carolyn suggesting she and John come for lunch!! Not quite ready for that so soon are you! That was a good discount on your meal. We always look out for those offers. I hope you enjoyed it.

The earplugs were a good idea Jane. She may laugh when she sees them, but little does she know how useful they may become...........similarly the Bridget Jones pants she will think will never fit her!! lol.

No my pizza was a quite small one, a nice cherry tomato, basil and mozzarella one the co-op do. Then after he'd eaten his half he had the nerve to say it wasn't as nice as his usual ones!!

Gill, Mel was right about some of my favourite colours. I like teal, the purpley pink fuschia colour, apple green, maroon, turquoise, purple, lilac, silver. The card she made for Mel was lovely with all the sparkly decoration. :-D It's a shame about your mum and sister, and it making Sandra sad, but what they do is their choice and I would try to make it your choice not to let it spoil your day. I am lucky if I get a card from my sister for my birthday or Christmas and if I do it often arrives late, yet she always gets them from me and on time. The funniest was when she forgot my birthday till weeks after, then said she would buy me lunch at a garden centre, which was a surprise as she'd never bought me lunch before. When we got there, she told me what she wanted to eat, then went and sat down and I ended up buying her lunch instead. :-S Sandra will soon cheer up seeing the christmas tree go up and be decorated.

Mel, I could tell OH was itching to say something to that man, but knew I wouldn't want him to unless he became unpleasant. The man was just ignorant with no manners.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 21 Nov 2018 22:21

No not a ful moon tonight its on Gill's birthday on Friday. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

I too hope Ros got over her funny turn ok and was able to go out for lunch.

I have cleaned the big bathroom and hoovered the hall, uti room and spare bedroom today and sucked up the moisture off the windows first thing with the kartcher.

I am making some more of those little angels that I made for Mandy. This time there are four angels but I am not sure which pom poom maker I made Mandy's on and these 4 look a bit bigger. I don't have enough wool to make another lot but I do have the butterflies I used on Mandy's for their wings. I may put a ring of string round these ones for arms and hands like I did on the drift wood angels with a knot in for the hands.

I like all kinds of light blues and the lilac same as Jane mauves and plums. As for the greens I like light green and olive green and the shades inbetween. I like soft dusky pink too.

I wrote this ages ago before we had dinner and have just found it on the pc.

Annx Report 22 Nov 2018 04:03

Morning All ,

Another sleepless night! Are you there FRANK? ? lol (+_+)

Your BIL seems to be going along nicely Mandy. I expect crutches are needed for some time, but at least you can get around. Fingers crossed all will be well this time.

Those little angels were good Mel. Did you do any for yourself? I was doing some beading tonight and just really fancied some toast and marmalade.:-) Off I went and got some and took it into the study and sat down to do some more beading. Next thing there was a big blob of marmalade on my beading mat! Off I went to get a cloth and started wiping the mat only to knock it and all the beads I'd poured on it on the floor! It wouldn't have been so bad only the beads were really tiny and got stuck under my fingernails and I could hardly see them on the flecked grey carpet. I was glad OH was out and couldn't see me as he would have laughed. I had to chuckle myself, as bending over to pick them up and trying not to hurt my knees, I must have looked like a Giraffe with it's front legs splayed at a waterhole!:-D

Jane

Jane Report 22 Nov 2018 08:22

Morning All

I opened the curtains and thought it had snowed but it is just a really very frosty morning. I can hear James scraping his windscreen.

I am still laughing at the picture of you as a Giraffe Ann :-D :-D.. I know just what you mean though as that is the way I have to bend down now. its not too elegant really is it. Ok when at home but in the supermarket I find it quite embarassing plus I also make that ooooffff sound as I bend LOL

I hope you havent overslept this morning after being awake through the night. I am still in bed having my first mug of tea. Its always the best one of the day :-D

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 22 Nov 2018 11:44

Morning Ann Jane and al,

I am sitting here laughing to myself at the Giraffe as I am just the same. If its in the supermarket and I can't reach oh's cider cos its on the bottom shelf and at the back I have to ask people if I can borrow them to reach it for me. I explain that if I bent down to get it I would'nt be able to get up. If I kneel down there is no way I can get up unless I have something stable to pull myself up on and thats a struggle. I too often make the Ooooffff sound and so does oh. Ha ha its all part of getting older and fatter as I have to negotiate my big tum.

We had frost this morning but I did'nt see it cos I went back to bed at 25 to 4 after a visit to the loo and slept till 10.30am. Had a really strange dream about oh putting windows in the back of the potting sheds. Don't knwo where that came from!

Ann when I do beading I have a china heavy paint tray I pop the beads in. It keeps the mat on the table and I can pick the beads up out of it with the needle. If they pop over the side the mat saves them.

I know all about the marmalade trick too but it usually lands on my desk or my knees or down the front of my top. I only have toast usually on the mroning of shopping as I have to take my pills before I go out.

e have sun this morning but there are clouds in the sky too so its a bit in and out at the moment.

Have any of you noticed that you never sleep well nearing the full moon??????????

Frank

Frank Report 22 Nov 2018 12:11

Good morning Ann,Jane and all. Dos unusual to s you around his early Jane.

Sorry I wasn't around for a chat Ann, I was well in the land of NOD at that time. I had a good night. After the Jungle I flicked over to the cookery channel. Mary and Paul were making bread and syrup tarts. They looked Wonderfull I hope Sally's tart is as good as Mary's looked yum, yum.

What a frost we had last night. The roofs, lawns and trees were covered. Ros has a hair appointment for 11.00 am, so the frost had melted on the car before she left.

Asha (hairdresser) was in a good mood yesterday. We had quite a few laughs while she cut my hair. Thy are going over to "APPOINTMENTS ONLY" So next time I need a haircut, I must phone in advance. Never known that for a gents hairdressers. !!! From there w went to the pub. Roa had a Steak with pepper sauce and the trimmings and I had a Gammon with Pineapple and fried eggs,

Ros has to go to Milton Malsor Church for choir practice tonight, as Blisworth Church has had a burst pipe and the floor is flooded.

Off to get dinner ready for tonight, and get myself some lunch. See you all later.

Ros has these turns quite often. It starts with pains in her body and they creep up her face and head. She gets giddy and sweats from her head and face. Once she has sat for a while, it goes off. She is also finding that she gets out of breath just walking around the bungalow, and supermarket. She has mentioned it to th Dr. but i seems to fall on deaf ears. :-0 :-0 :-| :-| :-|. It might be a good idea if I go with her, and push my point of view. ;-) ;-) ;-) NICELY OF COURSE. lol lol.

I can just imagine some of the things Hannah will receive from you Women . It should bee a good laugh and break any ice if you don't know them all.

I really can't say I have a favourite colour, BEING COLOUR BLIND. I just like what I see, and always asking Ros, what colour is that.?? I remember buying some GREY socks, that turned out to be BRIGHT PINK. So I am not allowed to buy any of my cloths. It's always down to Ros.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 22 Nov 2018 13:11

One of the presents for Hannah should be a small bottle of wine (if she like wine) or her favorite drink and a condom taped to the top the label Lust and Pleasure.
