I'm not sure if I'll be on here tomorrow as OH wants to go to his mum's and Sandra wants to do her final bits of Christmas shopping. With me wanting to have a look in the garden centre for tall plants I can't see us getting back until late. I thought I'd let you all know so you don't wonder where I am.
Off to bed now Night Night

Morning all,
We have a dull and dreary damp day today. I expect its the same with you lot. I don't mind it like this when I am going shopping as I would'nt be able to do other things as its so dark.
I thought I better mention that we are going to get the four year olds with the oldies at Christmas. I am really looking forward to it. Not sure when its on but if you lot see before me please let me know. I really enjoyed the last series.

Good morning Gill,Mel and all,
We have a lovely morning here, blue sky and not a bit of breeze.
HOME ALONE. Ros and Carolyn went off around 9.30, so they should be there by now, Parked up, and possible in the house.I'm sure they will have a nice day.
The wreath looks lovely Mel, you are such a cleaver girl xxx. I don't think I have seen or heard of the four year old with the oldies.!! Is it a T.V. Programme ??
Yesterday Lunchtime, while Ros was out shopping for bits a Tesco. I had Mackerel Fillet which I lightly fried in olive oil, with some B & Butter. I filled me up so much that I didn't eat last night, and as yet I haven't eaten today. I will eat when I finish on here.
That sounds little awkward Gill. I expect the nw neighbours will want privacy the same as you. I am sure that between you, you will find something that is agreeable to you both. GOOD LUCK.
It's very rare that I eat Red Cabbage, but I know Ros likes it. Like some of you, I might have it cold with meats etc.
Simon and Sally have been on the phone this morning wanting to know what I want for my Birthday, What do you buy someone of my age who hasn't got everything he wants, "A TWENTY ONE YEAR OLD WOMAN? What a way to go. lol lol lol. They had rung Ros, and she could't help either.
I have promised myself that I am going to start walking around the village EVERY DAY. ;-) ;-) I really must start getting some exercise. It's times like this the I miss my dogs.
I hope you remember to pack all you need for the weekend Jane. PLEASE give Hannah and Gareth my very best wishes for Saturday, and hope everything goes to plan.
Be good, see you all later.

Afternoon Everyone
I hope Ros has had a lovely day today. I bet it would have been busy. Hopefully she is home or will be shortly and you will hear all about it. You will have to advertise for a nice young 21 year old ;-). You men are always so difficult to buy for and it seems to get harder each year.
Gill I am sorry you are losing your lovely privacy. It seems such a shame. But once you can maybe get some fast growing trees'/shrubs in you will be able to sit out in your nightie again.I could walk around naked in our back garden and not be seen (well for the most of the garden) Not that I dare risk it !!! Shock horror. I would scare all the wild life away :-0 :-0
Mel your Wands looks lovely. How on earth do you make them? Your card arrived to day and it is very pretty. It is next to your little Candle Glass.
How was the sing song at the Church today. Did Lewis sing his little head off? :-D. Katies turn tomorrow. You have a busy time right now!. : I expect Janice will doing the rounds of school Xmas things with the Grandchildren.I always think it is such a busy time and exhausting term for children at school with all the Nativities and other Xmas events going on.
I have not long been in from having my toenails cut properly at the Chiropodist. It is over a year since I was last there which shocked me. I would have guessed about 6 months.
Ann I can eat Red Cabbage but hate Raisins in it. We only ever seem to have it at Christmas. Chris loves the stuff. I did make some a few years ago and it went down a treat.Fruit and Veg and Fruit and Meat are not my thing.Same as Pineapple on Pizza.
Off to get the Xmas tree tomorrow morning :-D. I must remember to get a Poinsettia. It wouldnt be Xmas without one :-D .. Who was saying about plastic blow up Santas etc? Was it Ann? I have to say I am not a fan either of anything like that. Its fun to see in certain places ,but not on our house.I have seen lots of very pretty lights up on peoples houses all lit up on the way home from the Chiropodist. Just a few tacky ones. One big house on Barton road has a lovely herd of Reindeer :-D
Frank the 4yr olds and Old people is such a wonderful programme. It lifts your heart and puts a big smile on your face.I think there is a Xmas special. It could be channel 4 (but not sure) You will love it :-D :-D
I need to check my Beef Casserole. Its been in for hours and might need topping up with a bit of water and a bit of thickening with some lovely Bisto :-D Potatoes boiling ready for mashing .Once they are mashed I can sit down and chill for a bit.(not that it is chilly in here) Woodburner blazing away.I will need to go and put a thinner top on soon.

Evening all,
I now looked in the tele book and The old peoples home for 4 year olds Christmas is on tomorrow at 9 o'clock on channel 4 .
It's been a nice day here ,very frosty again first thing and chilly too ,Lewis was in the front row in the church so we could see him ,he sang some of the songs and did a few of the actions but he did keep getting distracted by things as a lot of them did but they are only three after all, it's Lacey's nativity on Thursday Jane .
Mel the wands are lovely ,did OH make them and you decorated them ,is it some sort of wire twisted round them ? They are just the sort of thing Chelsea would like she goes crazy over Harry Potter things . I like the wreath too i should think she will be very pleased with that .
I hope Ros has enjoyed her day out i expect she will be tired out now . Frank i don't know where you could get a twenty one year old from but i'm sure if you look on line you'll find one on there you can get any thing on line :-D :-D
We had the rest of the stew i made yesterday it always tastes better the next day ,i thicken mine with good old bisto too Jane but i also add a couple of Oxo's in with the meat when i cook it
Hair cut tomorrow it should have been next week but i had to change it as i want to go to Norwich with DIL on Tuesday as it's the last day we can go before the children break up for Christmas .

:-D :-D Mandy. you do the same as me. I put 2 Oxo Beef stock cubes in at the beginning and then thicken wth Bisto . Chris has just has his with the Mash and said it was REALLY tasty :-D I was thinking of waiting to have mine with James but it seems he is going to be late so I might not last that long.
I love it when little Children get distracted whilst singing or acting :-D. They can be so funny. Many moons ago when I was on a stage doing something it was my sister who managed to distract me. She was in the audience sat on Mum or Dads knees and suddenly this voice came out "I need a WEE WEE" . I think i was centre stage then :-S :-S.. Talk about being totally embarrassed by your little sister !!!!!!. She can't remember it but I can :-D :-D. I have never let her forget it :-D :-D :-D :-D

Jane i add them as it was what mum use to do :-D i put onion ,carrots, swede and celery in mine with the meat mind you the swede seems to all go into the gravy if you know what i mean it also helps to thicken the gravy too, and you have to a good mash with it .
I like watching the little ones ,they suddenly see mum or dad and then they start waving and jumping about :-D :-D
Is Hannah getting nervous ?it's not long now ,don't forget the confetti :-D

Evening All,
It's been a bright, sunny day and I didn't need a coat today, although OH was 'muffled up' with plenty of layers as usual. We must look a right odd couple of 'opposites'! :-) I enjoyed my hair appointment this morning, a nice relax. Tia was very Christmassy in her black sparkly top and the place was buzzing with ladies getting their hair done ready for Christmas.
We dropped in the place we often eat, and without booking this time and expected it to be packed, but there were two tables for four free, so were happy bunnies with plenty of room for our newspapers. There were a few parties, but it wasn't too noisy, quite a few old folk on their club annual outings. We called in the Garden centre nearby after for us both to draw some cash as they have a machine in there and then popped in the retail park to Next as I wanted to look at their small drawers for some of the stuff in the bathroom cabinet. The only ones I liked that would fit had white rope handles which would soon get mucky. I've found some better ones online at Argos which is just a few yards from Next, so I'll call and get them tomorrow. They are cheaper as well. I've checked and they should just fit nicely without the door catching them when you open it.
We were both saying today that we don't know who half of the modern singers are any more, just one or two. OH reckons he fell by the wayside after Englebert Humperdink!! :-D He didn't, but he does make me smile. I suppose if we had children and grandchildren we would have kept up to date. I find I put Radio One on in the car thinking I must get more in touch with the times, but after a couple of samey tunes find I have changed to Radio two or four without thinking! We must be turning into our parents! :-S
You sound a lot better today Frank. A TWENTY ONE YEAR OLD WOMAN......think of your blood pressure! :-D :-D I think you would enjoy the programme about the 4 year olds at the home. We love it! Their spending time together seems to bring out such kindness and thoughtfulness in the little ones and such patience and smiles in the elderly residents.
Well, OH seems to have come around to my way of thinking about getting many more decorations out of the loft this year! Climbing up and down there yesterday seems to have set off every affliction he's ever had! LOL. He was complaining about aches in his legs, calves, back and shoulders this morning. He kept saying 'I need to get fit'. I said, 'you don't sound fit enough to get fit.' He's managed to crawl to a match tonight though!
I hope the new neighbours haven't seen that film Gill and try to copy it!!!!! :-0 :-0 :-0 I meant to say did you see those tea lights on Kirstie that have a remote control to switch them on and off? I'd love to hide one in OH's pyjama pocket and switch it on when he's snuggled down in bed in the dark. He'd think he'd got glow worms! :-D
Mel, those wands are so good.........I was thinking fairy wands till I saw your pic. They look very intricate to make and fix the decoration to. The ring looks so colourful with the different things you have used for it.

So you liked my wands did you? I make them out of chop sticks and beads and my glue gun. I really enjoyed doing them and shall definately do some more. I am glad I took them to the Fayre as I sold four out of the five, three at £5 and the one at £4 for the lad who had'nt enough money.
I laughed at the thought of G with a glow worm in his jim jam pocket. Could'nt do that with oh as he dos'nt wear jim jams just a t shirt and his boxers.
I am waiting for Mrs. Wilson to finish so I can watch it on catch up now oh has gone to bed. I know he's gone as I got my three goodnight kisses.
It seems we all do the same with our stews, two red oxo and bisto to thicken. I do the same with sheep shit pie when I cook the mince and thicken the gravy with bisto.
Its turned really chilly out tonight so I have the heating on. We hav'nt had it on much just a bit in the morning when its frosty or dampy and a bit in the evening when the suns gone down. Oh is always saying its too hot. Its a bit like you and G Ann perhaps we should swop!!
Filled up with deisel today as I had the coupon for money off per litre from Morrisons and it ran out on the 16th and I shan't go again till the 17th. Hannah will be married by then and be Mrs Owen and Dr Rose. It does seem to have come around very quickly suddenly, only 4 days to go!!!
Jane I posted her card today and its coming to you in a big red envelope.

Hi all
It's been dry here today and quite warm for this time of year, although they say it's going to get cold by the end of the week, which is why we went out today. I didn't find any suitable plants so we're going to use a couple of tall Red Robins we've already got and buy some smaller plants to put in their places. We're also going to take the Bamboo plants out of the front garden and use those to. They won't cover the window completely but will help a bit. Sandra and OH finished off their Christmas shopping and all the Christmas cards have been delivered now along with the presents, so just the food to finish off and the baking on Christmas Eve.
We called in to see OH's aunt and she is fostering a lovely little dog who was pregnant, she's had six pups and they are so cute. They're only 4 weeks old so his aunt has them to look after to. Sandra was thrilled with them all and didn't know which one to cuddle first. I must admit they were so cute I couldn't resist having a cuddle of them to. The poor mum was rescued from a puppy farm and had been used to have one litter after another, OH's aunt is going to keep her and give her a lovely home where it's safe. OH's aunt lost her husband a few years ago so the mum will be company for her, they are both going to be very happy together. She said she'd like to keep one of the puppies but doesn't know if she'll be allowed to yet.
We then went across the road to visit OH's uncle (his aunts brother) who has the sister of the mother dog who was also used at the puppy farm to breed puppies, so both of the little dogs have safe happy homes now. The one at his uncle's is a bit nervous and barks a bit, she's also nervous to go outside as she was kept in a cage, she's only been with his uncle for two weeks so hopefully she's settle soon and realise that she can go outside if she wants to and it's safe. They are both lovely dogs.
The "Old people's home for 4 year old's at Christmas" is on tomorrow (Wednesday) 9pm channel 4 Mel. I've got it on my planner to be recorded. Love the wands and the ring, you are clever. What are the wands made of?
Love the light you bought for your sister Mandy, it reminds me of a similar light we've bought Sandra for Christmas, except her's has stars and the moon on so they reflect onto her ceiling. I'm always telling Sandra I love her to the moon and back so thought she'd like the light, she loves lights but this one will remind her of what I say when she looks at it.
Yes, Ann I saw those tea lights, what a good idea. You did make me laugh when you said about putting one in OH's pyjamas lol Pleased to see you got a big table today and also found the small drawers you were after, so you can buy it tomorrow. It sounds like you've had a lucky day.
So you're getting your Christmas tree tomorrow Jane, you'll be busy decorating it then.
Just watching "The Royal Variety Performance" There was a man on it called "The lost voice guy" He can't talk so has a machine to do his talking for him and he's so funny. He won "Britain's Got Talent" and the prize, apart from £250k, was a spot on The Royal Variety Show. He was really good and still as funny.
I bought some LED lights when I was out and have put them in the tinsel around the village I made, it looks really good. I also found some really shinny tinsel so that's been put around the room and looks like it's lit up.
The builders went next door while we were out and it looks like they are having two lights put on the outside of the bungalow. OH said it looks like the electrician has been there putting in the first fix electrics. We also noticed that some more of the render has been taken off, although we can't work out why they're doing that as it's going to be rendered all over anyway, so they could of just gone over the top. They seems to be doing jobs that don't really need doing, no wonder it's costing £80k.
I'm getting tired so I think I'll be having an early night tonight. It must be all the fresh air and walking around I've done today.

OH wears T shirts and cotton bed shorts in the summer.....or nothing when it's really hot. In the winter he watches tv in his jim jams but once in bed the top usually gets flung off in the middle of the night. I do like to play tricks on him. :-D We haven't needed our heating much either, it's mostly in the evenings when it gets chilly. I expect your OH is more active doing all he does outside and gets well warmed up, mine in just his shirt and no jumper or anything typing up his work stuff gets colder because he isn't moving.....well that's what I tell him when I wave the thermometer in front of him. It doesn't lie!
Jane I bet you were mortified when your sister shouted that out. I remember my little sister embarrassing me with what she would blurt out at times.
What a shame you have all this extra work now Gill. Still it should do the trick and be worth it. Your little village must look really pretty with the extra lights on it.

Morning all
Dry and cold here today
The poor fella next door is on his own today as the other workman fell asleep and lost his job. The one who fell asleep was taking the rendering off so we don't know who's going to be doing that job now as the other fella is busy with his own jobs. Apparently all the workers are working on other jobs as well as next door as the boss has taken on quite a few properties so he's got them moving from one property to another. He said he's freezing and only has one flask of tea. We offered to make him another when he runs out but he said it was okay. Maybe if he gets to cold he might change his mind.
I had a good nights sleep last night, the workmen aren't making as much noise now so we're not being woken up early anymore. How long that'll last though is anyone's guess.
Yes,Ann the little village does look good and also the sparkly tinsel everywhere catches the light so looks as if it's lit up.
I'm going to update OH's tree today. While we were visiting the family yesterday I managed to get the info for some of the children I hadn't put on the tree. There's been so many new babies I'm losing track and had missed a few out, so that's today's job, after I've had a bath and washed my hair.

Morning Gill and all,
Its another miserable day here withthat fine rain sort of in the air so its dark too.
I had better do a bit of HW today as I see the kitchen and dining area need a good hoover. There is bits everywhere especially under oh chair. Lots of crumbs and the fly catcher has spat flies out so that needs a good clean too. Not sure if its a good thing or not as it makes so much mess but it is surprizing how many flies we get in here during the winter.
I should also do some more wiring and rings if I can so I shall have a busy day today.
Gill the wands are made out of chop sticks. I did say in an earlier post as Mandy asked also. Thats why I asked you if Sandra liked Harry Potter films but you said she did'nt like those films.
Well onwards and upwards as they say. I had a bad night last night and could'nt go to sleep so had a lie in this mroning.

I remember you asking about Sandra and if she liked Harry Potter but must of missed the post to Mandy about what the wands were made of. They are lovely, you do make some wonderful things.
Sandra's still talking about all the puppies she saw yesterday, I must admit they were cute.
Going to dry my hair now then update OH's tree. It's nice to have a day with not a lot to do for a change. :-)

Good morning all, Well just morning. 11.58 am.
No rain here, but very miserable, you need the lights on when you move from room to room.
I had a BIG SURPRISE this morning, I was standing at the basin shaving when the plastic light cover came crashing down on my head. Good job it's plastic and not GLASS. It could have caused me serious damage.
Jane I don't want to depress you, but, this weekend is going to be very cold with wintery showers,so take something warm, for when you are standing around. As I said yesterday give them by very best wishes.
Ros said the palace was beautiful, there must have been over 100 trees all decorated in different colours. It was very busy. Carolyn was thinking of going ROUND AGAIN in case she had missed anything. Ros managed to per swayed, that it wasn't a good idea. !!!! There was a Christmas Market in little huts around the place, nearly all was total TAT. There was a woman selling jewellery, that Ros said she had seen on hr Jewellery programmes. The woman was charging over twice the price that it cost on line. Another chap was trying to sell an OPEL RING. Ros asked the price £8,000.00. she almost fainted with shock.
I'm glad you had a nice afternoon Mandy, children can easily be distracted when someone/something, catches their eye. I use to love watching my two in their Christmas singalong's when thy were in infants school. Why do they have to grow up ??
It was my Nephews birthday yesterday, and his sisters today. I sent greetings via their F.B. pages. It makes me feel VERY OLD. I have one Nephew who is SEVENTY ONE.
Gill how could you NOT have bought one of those puppies home, or at least put your name down for one.?? I do miss not having a pet around the place, but feel it wouldn't be fair to have one now, as we are far too old.
Ros has gone to collect the scripts nd drop off the present for the staff and Doctors. The she's into town to get a few things, and try to find a new outfit for Christmas.
I am being pestered by someone saying they are from B.T. Technical department, telling me that my internet connection will be disconnected within the next 24 hours.I had FOUR CALLS yesterday and TWO so far today. Needles to say I have ignored them and put down the phone. Have any of you had these calls. ??
I haven't eaten yet today, so will go and get a Sarnie and coffee.
I will try to watch that programme tonight, thank you.
Have a pleasant afternoon, whatever you are doing. I am interviewing FOUR 21 year old women tis afternoon. SO WISH ME LUCK. lol lol ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) :-D :-D :-D

Afternoon Everyone.
I had a bad night too Mel, one of my worst as I was still awake at 4.30am. It was dull and dry here earlier but there is a bit of drizzle now.
We fetched the little drawers from Argos after we got up and did a few errands. They are flat pack ones, so I will open the box later to make sure there's nothing missing or damaged! My little icicle tree is in position now as well so we do look a bit Christmassy. :-)
OH is out later so I shall get on with some jobs this afternoon. The fridge and freezer need going through and any old stuff chucking out or there will be no room for the Christmas things.
I wonder if Jane has got her tree home yet?

Ah you popped in between there Frank before I posted.! Yes I get a fair few of those calls and have had at least 8 spam emails in the past fortnight telling me I have won prizes or are due a refund! I just report them each time, but new ones still come. I always worry my finger might suddenly do a physical jerk and I accidentally click on a bad link!!! So you nearly got an even CLOSER SHAVE this morning with the light fitting falling on your head. Good job it was plastic, like you say, but I did say to get a crash helmet! I wouldn't let my age stop me having a pet Frank as long as I was able to care for it. You could easily outlive a dog and even the youngest person isn't guaranteed a long or healthy life. The little cat my beading friend has taken in after her neighbours moved has changed to the dried food her other two cats have now and likes it so much she won't touch the wet food she used to have. Good luck with the 21 YEAR OLDS!!!
Mel I meant to say I think OH would do a little jig if he thought he could get me swopped! LOL.:-D
What breed are the dogs Gill? Puppies are always so cute aren't they and I bet Sandra will be wanting to see them again soon, or even maybe wanting one from Santa. :-)

100 decorated Christmas trees, I bet that was lovely for Ros and Carolyn to see. Fancy the woman charging twice the price for the jewellery than it costs online, I think most things are over priced nowadays, but then some crafts do take a long time to make so you have to take the time into consideration, but still some items can still be pricey. I can imagine the shock Ros got when she asked the price and was told £8000, no one is going to pay that on the day surely. You were lucky when the light fitting fell on you, like you said if it had been glass it would of been a different story.
I was tempted to have one of the puppies, Sandra put one inside her coat as we were leaving and pretended to take it with us, it was the same one I was cuddling, a little black and white one. I don't know the breed of the dogs but the mother is very small with longish hair, she didn't seem to mind us making a fuss of her babies, we made a fuss of her to as she was adorable and very good when you think of the conditions she was living in before. My heart nearly broke when OH's aunt was telling us of the puppy farm and that the mother and her sister were living in cages. I don't know how they were recused but know they are all going to have such a better life now.
It sounds like you're still busy Mel, you are getting through your jobs quickly. I'm enjoying a day off for a change and catching up with some programmes I've recorded for myself.
I recorded the three part programme "Mrs Wilson" and I've just finished watching the first one, so now I'm carrying on with the other two, then tomorrow I will watch all three of "Death and Nightingales". I like to record the whole series and watch them all at once, it's like watching a very long film and I don't lose track of what's going on from week to week then.
I'm recording the 4 year old's tonight as there's a programme on at the same time which Sandra and OH want to watch.
