Afternoon All
Just in from a lovely hour and a half of a bit of pampering at the Beauty Salon. It was so relaxing .I decided I was NOT going to be cooking tonight after that so have M&S Cottage Pies for the 3 of us and microvave bags of veg.
James and I got the tree this morning . It is smaller than I would normally have and still cost £40 ! Its a Nordman . I bought some lights for the two Box trees outside the front door and a Ponsettia . James bought a plant for Johnny's Mum who he has ben to see this afternoon.
Crikey Gill, talk about falling asleep on the job !!!. No wonder that chap got the sack.
Oh Puppy Farms :-( :-(. What wicked places . How lovely though Gill that you know 2 tired out Mums have lovely new homes now ,and hopefully all the puppies will find good homes too. I bet Sandra will be wanting to go back to have more cuddles :-D :-D. I wish there was some way of preventing these unscrupulous people from having these places and keeping these poor dogs and puppies in such dreadful circumstances .
Did you have any sense knocked into you Frank when the light cover dropped on your head ;-). Thank heavens it was only plastic.I am glad Ros and Carolyn had a lovely time.It soundes quite magical with all those trees . As for anyone paying £8,000 for that ring from just a Christmas Market Stall !!!. I bet it wasn't sold.
Mmm, I am not sure about this weather now on Saturday. It is not sounding so good is it :-S. A little light snow would be quite nice with it being a Winter Wedding .It might be that we won't even be able to throw the Confetti. But what will be will be . As long as the Bride and Groom dont look like drowned rats or having been dragged through a hedge backwards for the Photos :-D
Tomorrow morning Thomas is off to you know where. We did his flea treatment yesterday and I think he must have been licking at it and got a bit of an upset Tum in the night as he had used his tray and had the trots which unfortunaltey overshot the tray .So I was donned up in disposable gloves ,rolls of thick kitchen paper and Dettol at 5am :-S.. I thought it whiffed a bit when I came down the stairs in the dark but thought it was just lingering smell from my Beef Casserole !!!!! Having said that the Casserole was delicious :-D :-D
Hannahs friend Sarah is with her now and they have been out for lunch today somewhere high up over London. (judging from the pic she sent me. Sarah will be staying at Hannahs when they are on Honeymoon and Sarahs Mum will be there too.It will be 4 years since I last saw Sarah when I went to London for my 60th and the 3 of us went out for a slap up lunch. Still not looking Xmassy in this house other than all my Xmas Cards. The tree is in a bucket of water outside and will have to stay there until next week. There is just no time now to get it in and decorted (without stress). ,and we don't need stress right now :-D. I said to Chris he needs to try and chill a bit as he looks like he is going to a funeral rather than his Daughters wedding !!!! Just going to ring Janice now.

Have had a fiddle out in the shed after corning the girls. Thinking of doing another Nordic Gnome or two. I have made wire bases this year on clay flower pots. Not sure if they will work yet so will have to see. Did'nt do any wiring or mossing of rings today just a couple of bunches of ivy and one of holly with berries then I spied the wire so got sidetracked.
Lamb chops tonight so nice and easy and I think now I shall go and have a play with my glue gun for half an hour.

Oh Jane I had to smile at your description of Chris looking more like he was going to a funeral rather than his daughter's wedding!! :-D I expect it's that speech weighing heavy on him. Once he's done it he will be a different man! LOL. Snow has been forecast here for Saturday, but I don't know about London. A bit of snow could look very pretty for the wedding photos, much better than a horizontal gale with a veil and dress similarly horizontal or horrid rain. Poor Thomas with the squits!! I've rather gone off casseroles now, but resolve never to pad about barefoot in the dark in a house where there is a cat. The thought of cleaning that off your feet when you are in a sleepy, zombie state does not bear thinking about. :-S
The little dog may be a Shih Tzu Gill as they can be black and white with a lovely soft coat and are popular so the puppy farms would like them. If it is they don't shed hair which is good, but are quite high maintenance with the regular clipping needed. A mobile groomer van comes to do the dog next door.
I don't seem to have got much done, just chucking out papers, paying bills, putting the washer on and a bit of tidying. I was going to do some roast peppers, courgette etc to go with one of the nice chicken and leek pies with puff pastry that I bought after trying one recently. Panic stations it's OUT OF DATE and I never realised, so it's back to the drawing board. Where does time go these days. :-S :-S

Good evening all
It's been a lovely day here but starting to feel colder now.
Thank you Gill for the birthday and Christmas cards, thank you also Mel for your card.
Last week I posted all my cards including Frank's birthday card plus all my family and friends' cards , has everyone on here not got their cards? The reason I asked is because one of my SIL's hasn't received hers which is a bit worrying, I only need to know if you haven't received one.
I expect Chris will be glad once he has given his father of the Bride speech Jane not long to go now. It's nice that Hannah has her friend staying with her until the big day.It was lovely for you having a pampering session don't blame you for having an easy meal.
I hate seeing or reading about illegal puppy farms Gill, my BIL who is now retired from the RSPCA says the worse places are Ireland and the remote areas of Scotland and Wales. I had to smile when Sandra tried to smuggle a puppy under her coat .It would have been lovely if she could have taken it home with her.
Watched the final episode of Mrs Wilson yesterday well worth seeing they say the truth is stranger than fiction, the actress who played her was one of her own granddaughters who remembered seeing her ,
We had chicken casserole tonight with veg and new potatoes.

Morning all
Very windy and cold here today, I was up early so saw the sun come up and the sky was bright red, lovely to look at but don't they say red sky in the morning is a warning of bad weather? I'm so glad we went to MIL's on Tuesday instead of today as planned. Staying in doors today out of the cold.
Yes, your cards arrived Anne, I did post to say thank you and to let you know Sandra was thrilled with her card having her name on it and said she is going to keep it forever....bless her <3 Pleased to see my cards arrived okay, you do worry that some might not make it through the post this time of year don't you? I've also had cards off Jane and Mel, just so you two know they arrived okay to.
Can everyone let me know if my cards arrived okay please?
Poor Chris, I'm sure he'll be a lot calmer once the father of the bride speech is out of the way Jane. How is Thomas today, hope his tum is better? It snowed when OH and I got married, just a few flakes but it was so magical and looked lovely on the photo's. We got married in January. I bet you felt so relaxed yesterday after your pampering session. Good idea to leave the Christmas tree for now, it'll be fine in water for a few days, then you'll have more time to decorate it without it being stressful.
It sounds like you're very busy again Mel, a couple of Nordic Gnomes sounds lovely.
I Googled Shih Tzu dogs Ann and the mother looks like one, the pups are only 4 weeks old so don't have the long hair yet, but are still so cute. I wondered what they were so thank you for letting me know.

Morning Gill and all,
Very windy and cold here today so no change from the rest of the week but I think it is colder today. Not raining yet but it may do later on.
Gill can you tell me if the cards I sent you had a Robin on with a snowy village scene in the background please? If I did and sent you both the same card did you realize you tuck the tab into the card so it stands up?????

Morning all JUST. 11.57 am. Bright sunny morning here, with what looks like a cold wind. I have only been out, to put some rubbish in the bin. I think that will be as far as I will venture today.
Ros has Choir practise tonight and a concert on Saturday Evening. Then the Blisworth Church Concert on Wednesday. I expect I will go on Wednesday.
Ros has been ironing for the passed 3 hours. She has just finished.
Sounds like you are going to be busy Mandy. I am sure the meal will be fine and that you will enjoy Lacey's play at the church.
So Jane is all pampered up ready for Saturday. What time is the Wedding ?? I am sure Chris will be fine once he has his speech over and done with. That is a pleasure I never had. :-( :-( :-( :-(
Will you all please check for my ECARD I arranged for them to be sent on the 12th, and I sent Sandra one for herself this morning. I never got a word of thanks for donating those BALES for the horses, which I think is very bad. :-P :-P :-P
Conrad flew home from SPAIN on Tuesday evening to see Ella in her Concert yesterday, he flew back first thing this morning. He is not only her Pappy, but I am sure he is a father figure as well. What a Great person he is. xxx
Those puppies sound adorable Gill. But as mentioned, they can be very prone to picking up things, and need a lot of VET treatments.
I'm still not feeling great, pains down my right side seem to come and go, all the time. Last night I almost jumped out of the armchair with one, that shot right down to my right foot. Still not sleeping the night through, and feel constantly tired.
Ros has just sorted out some nice candles and smellies, for the raffle tonight at the choir practice.
Going to get som lunch and coffee, so hope to se you all later xxx

O dear Frank I do hope the pain eases and you can get a good nights sleep soon.
Good luck tonight with the chior practise tonight and the two conserts for Ros. I am sure you will like the one you go to Frank. It gets you in the Christmas spirit.
Mandy enjoy your family meal tonight and how lovely to be going to Lacey's play. I miss all that. I am not sure if the boys do one I shall have to ask Em.
Well I have only fed the chickens and the wild birds and made a big pot of soup for lunch with some nice warm rolls which I shall be serving up shortly.
We had a huge squable of seagulls come over the garden earlier so it must be rough at sea. I don't think I have ever seen so many in the sky like there were today so far in land.
What Jane up to today? I think Thomas goes for his holiday today but I still need to know if she has received the card I sent for Hannah.

We had soup too Mel it's nice and warming ,I expect the boys do have plays or carol services . I hope my card has arrived at Jane's too. It's a sign of rough weather coming when the Gulls come inland .
I hope you can get some relief from these pains soon Frank ,it sounds like the nerves if you keep getting the shooting pains ,when Colin had his hips done he use to get pains like tthat from the nerves in his legs . That was lovely of Conan to fly home to see little Ella in her concert. No e card here yet Frank .

No e-card here Frank or the one you sent Sandra today. I checked my Spam folder just in case they went in there, but it's empty.
Do you think you should see the doctor with these sharp pains you're getting, they don't sound right to me. You're not the only one with cold weather, it's absolutely freezing here today in the wind, it bites right through you. OH and I had to sort out our tall Red Robin plant as it was leaning over in the wind and I was like a block of ice when we'd finished. The heating is on so I'm thawing out a bit now ;-)
Yes, I was wondering what time the wedding is Jane.
Thanks for letting us know about the cards Mel, yes they were the ones you mentioned so I've just put them up correctly now. Sandra thinks it's great. I didn't see the slit at the side so had them up in the usual way to start with.
How nice to have a family meal before watching Lacey in her play Mandy. What part is she playing? Thanks for letting me know your card arrived safely.

Afternoon !!!!!! Oh my word i feel like I have been chasing my tail all day so far. I left here with Thomas just before 10 . Dropped him off at the Cattery which is a fair drive. Drove back straight to town to see if I could find a nice Pocket Handkerchief that would go with Chris's Tie. I thought TKMax would be a good place but there was nothing there so I then walked down to Warwicks a mens Outfitters and got 2 there . But I dont think either are right. Then it was to Boots to get another eyeshadow ans some Rescue Remedy for Chris !! I thought I had time to come home and have a cup of coffee before my nail appointment. Made a coffee and then Chris said my appointment was at 12 and not 12.30 as i thought. So I left my coffee and had just over 10 minutes to get back to town ,park and get to the salon. James rang to say I was on my way but might be a few minutes late. They were dishing out complimentary Xmas glasses of wine so I was given a small glass of white which I enjoyed while having my nails done. It is lovely colour varnish with just a little sparkle in. So now I am home at last and need to start thinking about packing. Both Chris and James are faffing around upstairs with all their stuff at teh moment so I will wait until it is all clear before I begin.
The Xmas lights I bought at the garden centre yesterday are not battery ones so they will have to go back . But not today !!.I never thought about if they were battery operated, just that they were suitable for outdoors. That will have to wait now until Monday.
Mel and Mandy your cards for Hannah and Gareth are here :-D :-D :-D Thank you. So panic over :-D. Chris and I need to sit down later and decide what to write in the card Mel made.
Frank I wonder too if it might be nerve pain that suddenly hits you. It sounds quite possible.
Wedding at 12pm Gill. I think that is quite a nice time of day ,especially as the meal will be about 2 so no-one will be really starving. I have been to weddings when the meal has been 3 or 4 oclock and that is such a long time since breakfast !! :-)
The Cattery was all decked out with Christmas Decorations LOL .Not in the individual pens but along the outsides :-D. The hat I ordered for the lady arrived yesterday and is really nice so I will get that wrapped and will take it when I pick Thomas up on Monday.
I am going upstairs now to start sorting my things so will be back later tonight.

Oh boy you haven't stopped have you Jane, I bet you'll be glad of a sit down later. Thanks for letting me know the time of the wedding, I will be thinking of them at 12pm now I know the time. Chris must be in a bit of a state if he needs the Rescue Remedy, like I said earlier he'll probably clam down once his speech is out of the way, he'll be able to enjoy the rest of the day then. The Cattery sounded very festive, all the cats will wonder what's going on. :-) :-)

No ecard here either Frank.
I have been out in my very cold shed. I closed the top of the door today as the wind was blowing right in it. My thumb got so cold doing wiring that I lit three candles in there. It worked a treat and warmed the shed up just that bit for me to carry one. I have done the wiring for two more rings and finished one ring up to the bows. I only have those to do for the two rings in the morning as I left the ribbon out in the shed. One more ring to moss and three bunches of holly to wire for the next one. Came in after shutting all the girls in for the night and thought oh would have washed up for me but not today and the back door was wide open and the wind blowing in. I was cross. So I made a coffee and hot cross buns for us both and now we've finished I am going to get toasted cheese sandwiches for dinner and thats that.
