Evening All,

No E card here either Frank. Sorry to hear about those pains you have been getting. The others have said about nerve pain and they do sound like some that OH gets due to trapped nerves. He says some are like electric shocks!

Thanks for your Christmas card Gill. I think I did thank Anne for hers a while ago. I have only just sent mine (apart from Jane's Frank's and Anne's) as some have had to go in a packet! ;-)

Something you don't hear me say often......it's freezing today. I had my fleecy jacket on when we went out and where we went it was chilly inside. I slept like a top last night and so did OH.....he even had a nap this afternoon! Good idea to have the candles lit in your shed to keep a bit warmer Mel. So it was a cold cross Mel who had a hot cross bun then. I seem to have been following OH around shutting doors behind him today. Is it a man thing? He goes out of the front door to the bin round the side and leaves the front door open. I set the heating lower in the kitchen and lower still in the uti as the fridge freezer is in there, but he leaves both doors open so it makes the lounge cooler. :-|

Maybe Gareth will call you 'ma-in-law' Jane! :-D I meant to ask with his name being so Welsh whether he has a welsh accent? Not long now then before Chris will be able to breathe a sigh of relief. I hope the rescue remedy is working and that he has more than one copy of his speech in case he loses one. Edit........Mandy has reminded me I shall be at beading in the morning, so in case you have gone, Best Wishes to H & G and I hope it all goes well, which I'm sure it will. Look forward to seeing the pics!

How did Lacey do in her play Mandy? Did you get a little wave?

Gill there was a prog about a puppy farm on tv I watched in bed this morning. Not only are the pups often inbred and liable to have all sorts of health problems as Frank says, in this case a crooked vet was falsifying innoculation certificates when the dogs hadn't been vaccinated at all, so they were getting things like parvo virus.

I have just sent you a PM.

MillymollyAmanda Report 13 Dec 2018 20:39

Yes Ann we got a little shy wave :-D they were all so good and sang all the songs so well bless them

Jane i'm not sure what time your off tomorrow but in case i don't get on in the morning i hope you all enjoy the wedding and poor Chris sails through his speech ok

<3 To Hannah and Gareth i wish you all the happiness in the world in your married life together <3

Carn't wait to see some lovely photo's of their big day .

Good evening everyone

No e-card here either Frank.

I did know who had received my cards but my question was tell me if you hadn't received one. I think Frank is the only one I hadn't heard from but maybe Ros has put them to one side..

I haven't opened my birthday cards yet will leave that until Sunday when I will be 80 so I get there just before Frank.

I hope all goes well for the wedding Jane and everyone has a good time, looking forward to seeing the photos.

I've replied to your PM Ann

I watched that programme with the puppy farm Ann, it was so sad to see them all wasn't it and then to find out about the dodgy vet. I felt so sorry for all those dogs.

How lovely Mandy to have the little wave and to hear them all singing their little heart out. Are you like me and find you have a tear in your eye when watching the little ones? I always took a tissue with me to my girls plays.

I wish I'd known you were 80 Anne, I got a birthday card from the year Ann was born for her 70th and have done the same for Frank's 80th so would of got you one to if I'd known. I hope you like the card I've sent you and sorry it wasn't the same as the other two.

I was wondering to what time Jane was leaving tomorrow. I wish the happy couple all the best for Saturday. <3
I can't wait to see the photo's.

Morning all

It's freezing here, brrrr

Save journey today Jane, hope it's not to cold for everyone tomorrow.

I'm not going out anywhere today, far to cold, so have decided to go back to my family tree to the Australian relatives and update them. I've got access to an Ancestry tree that seems to have some of the missing bits I need. I'll also catch up with a few recordings off the planner. I've got the heating and the fire on and I'm still not warm yet.

If anyone is going out wrap up warm and be careful on the slippy roads and paths.

Morning Gill and all,

Its so cold here and the winds dropped but we have a very hard frost. I shall definately need the candles on in the shed today.

Heatings on and I must remember to order some oil.

Jane if you look in be careful today if its frosty where you are and don't fall over. Safe journey and only one more sleep now!!! till you gain another son. Hope everything goes off ok tomorrow as planned and Chris gets his speech over so you can all enjoy the day after that. Hope you have made a list of all the things you need to take and ticked them off. Don't forget to wish them congratulations from me and sending love and shall be thinking of them at 12pm tomorrow. x

Morning all,

I managed to watch the children, what a tonic that was.

Ros is busy, we have invited Pam, Denis, and Tracy in for 11.00 am for Mulled wine and nibbles. I think they will bring "ABBEY" with them, she loves to see Ros, she often pees herself with excitement just a dribble, !!!!

Going to sort out the Ecards now. So hope they go through.

William Report 14 Dec 2018 16:01

Hi Folks, remember me, I've got my Santa suit on to come and wish you all a
VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS - AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR

So sorry I haven't been on but I do watch any items that come up on Facebook and I do think of you all with kindness and friendship all the time. Since Carmel broke her femur, I find I don't have a lot of spare time and never seem to finish everything I intend to do, so my apologies for that. This is her second year after 'the event' and her mobility has improved, she is ok around the house, ventures in the garden only carefully, with her stick and my aid. Shopping etc, it's walking stick to the car and shopping generally in her wheelchair - although if it's handy, such as out Tesco, she will use a shopping trolley (shop of course) to support her and get around the shop. She usually aches afterwards but she is pleased she made the effort.
Otherwise, she has other health problems now the worst being diverticulitis, which was diagnosed at the start of this year. She has good days and very bad days, so depending on her health and the weather, in no particular order, we have to pick our outings at the right time. Like everyone else, we are getting no younger, Carmel is 86 and I'm 83, although I don't dwell on it and still have my hobbies to keep me busy as and when I get the chance.
The main 'good news' this year is that we have two 'new' great-grandchildren, that brings the total to 10 now, can't believe it. Granddaughter Siobhan had a baby boy, Rex Leo, in March, and he is a little charmer - while granddaughter Lauren, in Lincolnshire, also had a baby boy, Harrison James in October. We haven't seen the latter yet as we haven't been able to make that trip to the east coast. At least that's one thing that's good about social medium, we are to keep in touch and see all important photos.
I think that's about all for now, but before I sign off can I thank all of you who have sent us Christmas cards, they will go in pride of place. I regret to say we have cut down on our cards this year, so apologies if you have missed getting one from us. We don't seem to cope with things so well now, doing Christmas presents this morning has been a nightmare!
We do have a wonderful lady come and clean for us once a week on a Monday for an hour - and once a fortnight I have a chap come and do the garden for three hours but he is a marvelous chap and will do most anything I ask of him - we have been very lucky to find these two gems, what's more, they don't cost a fortune.
Once, again, very best of wishes for the coming season, good health and happiness to you all. Lots of good wishes from Carmel and myself

Lovely to hear from you William. Sorry to hear about Carmel, but pleased to see that she gets out every now and then, there's nothing worse than being cooped up in doors all the time. Congratulations on your two new great grandchildren. I'm sure you'll get to see Harrison at some point, maybe they could come to you when he's a bit older and it's warmer outside.

Pleased to see you have some help in the garden and house, it sounds like you've got two really nice people to help you.

Sandra and I wish you and Carmel and Merry Christmas and a happy 2019, hope it's a good one for you both.

It's still very cold here Mandy so I'm glad I didn't need to go out for anything today. OH said there's snow forecast for tomorrow here so that'll please Sandra, she'll be wanting to make snowmen if there's enough snow around. Hope you have warmed up now after having to go out today.

Still no e-card here Frank, did you remember my new email address? If it's gone to my old one I won't get it. How did your mulled wine and nibbles go, I love mulled wine but only ever have it when we go to the Christmas Event at the Garden centre once a year. So Abbey gets excited and dribbles.......bless her.

How are you getting on Mel in your shed, did the candles keep you warm? I'd love to see some pics when you've finished everything.

Hope Jane's journey was a good one and it wasn't to cold, like it's been here all day.

The help in the garden must be a godsend and it sounds as if you have found two good people that you can trust .

I hope Sandra gets her snow that will make her day :-D
Not sure if we're in for any ,i'll have to have a look at the weather forecast .

I expect Jane will be busy ,i hope she remembered everything she wanted to take with her .

Evening All,

Another very cold day with a good frost this morning. Just when I could have done with OH to help me scrape my car, he was on the phone talking about tomorrow's footie with a pal. :-S. I ended up a bit late for beading as I hadn't realised my car windscreen was all iced up. The new kitty can go out now and we saw her in the garden, trotting up the path. Apparently she soon got the hang of the catflap and seems to have settled in well, despite the 2 resident cats not being welcoming.

Thanks for your e-card Frank which is lovely! Another doggy fan visiting you then. How sweet she gets that excited she has a little dribble!

How nice to hear from you Will and MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and Carmel. I'm glad Carmel is still able to get out for a change of scene at times and that you have found 2 great people to help do the chores to ease the load. How lovely to have two new additions to your clan and hopefully you will get to see young Harrison next year when the weather will be far better.

That was nice to get a shy little wave Mandy and to hear the children sing. G was saying today that one of his schools was saying the little ones forgot their lines and everything once they spotted their parents or other family in the audience as they were too busy smiling and waving! He said he could hear children singing while he sat in a nearby room to get set up before his meeting and asked if it was the schoolchildren as they were so good considering they were primary school age. He was told they were and were practising for some competition in Birmingham. I see Max's present is sorted. I hope it lasts a while and is stronger than his jaws! :-)

I wish I had known and got you an 80th card for your birthday too Anne! I meant to ask how Abby is these days and whether she settled in her flat ok?

I decided my little icicle tree is a bit of a faff with 3 battery boxes to hide for it's lights so we got a new bigger length of lights with 1 battery box today. There weren't any white ones left in the length we wanted so the chap there let us have the demo set plus the batteries so that was good. OH had been in the loft while I was out this morning and got some Christmas decorations down and set them out, including your framed cross stitch Mandy. :-D He left the wreath for me to fix on the door.

That reminds me, while I was at beading my friend had to ring her hubby to ask him to take their door wreath out of the skip that is on their front at the moment. She'd found it and popped it there while she was doing something and forgot it and didn't want anyone to think it was dumped and take it away. Well we had to laugh as she said he told her he'd already done it and had hung it on the front door. She said it was still covered in last year's dead Holly and foliage which she needed to replace! How could he have not noticed!!! LOL. :-D I said folk will be thinking you've hit on hard times. lol.

Good Evening All

It's been very cold here too but at least it's been bright and sunny.

Frank no e-card either I will pm my latest e-mail address

I have been very busy today after preparing tonight's meal early, doing a machine load of washing and emptying the dishwasher I have managed to wrap all the Christmas presents including next doors.

You asked about Abbie, Ann she has just moved in with Paul, her Dad, about a year ago he sold his three bedroom house and bought a modern flat close to the town centre which has two en-suite bedrooms and a large kitchen/Living area She now has a long term boy friend who sometimes stays over. How times have changed!!

Happy Christmas and New Year to William and Carmel nice to hear from him again,

How lovely to hear from William and Carmel. It sounds like they have themselves well sorted with home help indoors and out and thats nice to know.

Thanks for the message Ann.

No ecard here yet Frank.

Finished two rings today but when I came down from the shed I had blood all over my right hand. I have a tiny hole in the middle of my index finger so I washe dmy hands well and carried on . When I went to wash the spoon from the steak I was cooking for a pie for dinner the handle was covered in blood. I have yet to find if I got any on the rings I finished. It won't look good if I have!!

Did up some more presents for Di so hers are all done now and out of the way.

I bet you were glad you did'nt have to go out in the cold anymore after walking Max Mandy. Its been really bitter here today. We had some sun this morning but not for long as it clouded over in the afternoon.

I must get some Christmasy thing about the house as I hav'nt even got the card string up yet and they keep arriving. I am not complaining though as I love toget the cards. Oh hates Christmas I suppose because there were so many in his family as there were 7 of them.

Hope every thing goes off ok tomorrow and I am sure they are all very excited now with only one more sleep to go. Poor Chris, I shall be thinking of him with his speech and it seems to have come around very quickly suddenly.

I have the heating on and the boiler comes on every few minuets so it must really be cold. I don't seem to be able to get the house warm. So much for all the insulation oh did last year i don't think it is any warmer in here.

Well think I shall go and watch a bit of telly now so see you all in the morning, THE BIG DAY.

Gillx

Gillx Report 15 Dec 2018 09:26

Morning all

Very windy here at the moment and really cold, we're suppose to be getting snow and freezing rain later.

Well, THE BIG DAY IS HERE I'll be thinking of Hannah and Gareth at 12pm and hope the weather isn't to bad for them so they have some nice photo's. Good luck to Chris with his speech, I bet he'll be glad when that bits over Jane.

I hope you didn't get any blood on the rings you did yesterday Mel, maybe if you did it'll wipe off with a damp cloth. Only 10 days to Christmas so maybe putting up a few decorations is a good idea while the weather is bad, it'll be better than sitting in a cold shed all day.

It sounds like Abbie is happier now Mandy living with her dad, the flat sounds really nice. So all your Christmas presents are now wrapped up. I finished mine the other day, I didn't realise how many presents I'd bought for Sandra, I think I went a bit mad this year, but can't wait to see her face on Christmas Day.

I still haven't got the e-card Frank :-(

So the little kitten is settling in well Ann, I love cats and so does Sandra. She asked me to ask you if it's possible to take a picture so she can see the kitten.

Well, so much for the builders not coming back until after Christmas, they turned up at 8.30am and starting drilling some of the render off the wall up against the new extension, so I expect that disturbed Sandra a bit, it's gone quieter now so she's asleep at the moment, but for how long who knows. It's very windy and there's a workman walking along the scaffolding they must have on the inside of the exterior walls. He's braver than me, he could get blown off, not a job I'd fancy this time of year. We're hoping the skip is emptied today as it's far to full and we don't want the rubbish blowing all over the place.

Good morning All,

First let me APOLOGISE to all who haven't received my ECARD. Mandy would you do me the BIGGEST FAVOUR and send it to:- Jane, Gill, Anne and Mel. I must get my Email contacts list altered and up to date ;-) ;-) ;-) What am I like. ??

Nice to hear from you Will and pleased you are getting help with the housework and garden. I have a nice chap, who I can call on for garden help. He comes when asked and does the lawns and edges, bits of weeding and hedge trimming. Ros is not able to do her garden yet, after her HEART ATTACH. Pleased to hear Carmel is able to get out on occasions. Give her my love. xx

Well yesterday lunchtime went well, they stayed chatting until 1.30. Ros didn't want to eat last night. So I had Smoked Salmon on toast, and a few nibbles over from Lunchtime.

Tonight is the first Concert for the Choir. As we are not sure what time it will finish, I have suggested to Ros. to pop into a Chinese or Fish and Chip bar and bring something home with her. What a palaver ?? I can see us STARVING to death shortly. I will do a nice Roast Beef tomorrow, so that should make up for it.

Not long now for Gareth and Hannah, I do hope everything goes off without a hitch. I guess Jane will look the perfect Mother, all dressed up in her finery and her fascinator I hope Chris makes it through his speech.

Horrible cold morning here, Ros went off at 10.00 am and had to come back, she had forgotten her purse. THAT WOULD NEVER DO, WOULD IT. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Off for my shower and shave, when th phone rang. Can I have "BIGGLES" TONIGHT as both his Mum and Dad are in the choir with Ros. It will save him being on his own, and a bit of company for me. Ahhh.
