Ann I have made a couple of toadstools in the needle felt and I thinkI am going to like it but I am sure you will be able to do birds better than I could. The first time I saw needle felting was a lady who made a wren and it was soooooo realistic it could have been real. I bought myself a selection of coloured wools to use as a try out and a single needle poker and have a plastic type block to do it on and not the brush. You get this plastic padding in parcels now instead of polysyrene and oh saves it for me so I have loads now. The little drill is a Vouce I think thats how you spell it but it is not to hand at the mo. He bought me a small dremmel when we were first together and I used to make the dollshouse things but its somewhere up the potting sheds and I can't gett in there at the mo as there are all brambles over the entrances but it keeps intruders out.

I'll let you now what I bought as a starter kit from Amazon and give you the link.

Have a lovely time with J & L today and I know you will have loads to talk about and your dinner sound nice too.

AnninGlos Hope you had a nice day yesterday and please pop in more often as we all love to hear from you.

I bet Sandra is well into her sequin pictures by now. Bless her she likes her craft things and card making things. I bought her rubber stamps of all the letters and numbers and a pink pensil case with pink pensils to match and pink glitter glue for her cards and some Christmas ink stamping stuff.

I wonder what kits Gill got to make?

Aunty Joy rang me this morning and she can't get on with our new phone so I had to ring her back and we nattered for over 35 mins. She's gone to one of her daughters today with her other daughter as the two hubbies have gone to football so it a girls afternoon.

Thank you Mel, I'd be interested to see the link. I like the idea because you don't need a lot of equipment. The brush thing I saw at the shop was to tease the wool straight before you used it I think! It had wire hooks all over it. My Dremmell has hardly been used because it is at the back of a cupboard. This is why I need to have a good clearout! lol.

By the way, did your lights eventually come on?

Afternoon all,

It's been quite a murky day here today ,yesterday we saw the sun for a while it was a lovely day the children were all very good but then they did have their presents to keep them busy .
Lewis was pleased with his bear " Mr Chip " i asked if he went to bed with him and he said yes he was lovely .
The family came again for lunch today and have now gone on to DIL's sister , she said she as doing some food but didn't think any one would want any after eating here.
We has some lovely things ,i got loads of nice smellies ,son and DIL were pleased with the coffee hamper i made up ,it was in the box they bought us last year with teas and cookies in ,we have decided to refill it for each other every year so next year it will be their turn ,i think i will do herbs and spices when it's our turn again .

Ann the little felted animals are really good thanks for sending them ,so your going to have a go at felting i'd love to see it when you've done it .

Did any one see the last Chateau programme where Angel had those little buckets on a chain she used them as an advent calendar and filled then with sweets ,well son has ordered me some little buckets so i can make some for next year ,i just need to find some pictures to stick on the buckets ,i need some little Victorian pictures to make them look oldie worldie .

I have such a pain in my side ,i pulled a muscle i think when i reached up into the kitchen unit for a dish so i've been taking some pain killers and rubbing cream on .

O Mandy dos'nt it make you cross when you do something like that. I know just what you mean as I have done it myself. I too like the little buckets and thought I may make one for the boys next door. You can get pics of the internet to cover them or use your old cards if you have any with oldy worldy pics on. If I find any I'll let you know.

Ann no my lights hav'nt come on. Its so annoying as one set is on the tiny tree I have on my pc. The white set I usually put on the ivy garland over the lounge doors.

Oh bought e the film The Magnificent Showman on the telly so I have that to watch tonight. I have seen a bit ofit. Em told me it was good and they watched it twice.

I have sent a pic of my snowflakes in the kitchen and now I will find the things Ann wanted to do with the felting.

Ann I have pm'd you the link. There are a lot of starter kits but this one I sent has 36 colours of the wool. When you have a go MIND YOUR FINGERS. I speak from experience and I thought I was being so good too. It really hurts when you stick the needle in your finger and all because I could'nt get on with the find guards they give you. When I opened the new needle tool with the 7 needles and grabbed at the bottom bit the plastic went back and I stabbed myself right in the middle of my index finger pad on my left hand.

Mel i couldn't open your email to see to your snow flake lights .
I thought i'd have a look and see if there are any pictures i can print off for the little buckets ,i think Victorian pictures are nice and oldie worldie .

Just had a nice plate of cold cuts and pickles ,i think it's my favourite meal over christmas .

I'm here just Mandy. Not having a great day with this cough and I just feel so exhausted. Not having much sleep is not helping at all. Also we think the Christmas tree is making my cough worse so unfortunately we are going to take it down tomorrow.Looks like it will be an artificial one next year :-(

I didnt get the snow flake email either Mel.

Going back upstairs now where it is cooler and no tree :-D. I am hoping Chris might be good enough to pop the dinner in tonight. Its only Southern fried Chicken and Potato Rostis. He has done a lot today as he had the unoleasant task of unblocking the kitchen sink and then the dishwasher pipes. You should have seen the size of the lump of solidified fat he got out !!!!!!

I'll be back tomorrow . Hannah and Gareth are doing the Safari tomorrow morning

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 27 Dec 2018 17:35

Is that better Mandy? Did you get the images I sent you?

I have had a little put away of things today and had a fiddle with some more wands but then it was time to do the chickens and then wait to shut them in.

I did have a little look at some five minuet crafts on the pc and there was some good ideas so I bookmarked the page. There were lots of bits you could do with the children Mandy. The page was called 20 cool budget ideas to decorate your appartment its on you tube.

We finished up the rest of the turkey for lunch so now I am doing a ham. I don't roast mine but boil it in two dessert spoonfulls of demerara sugar, 12 cloves and 10 black peppercorns. 20 mins a lb. A bit quicker than roasting it and its nice and moist and dos'nt use so much leccy.

Wonder what Jane and Ann and Anne have been up to today.

When I went to corn the girls a mist had come down and was rolling across the side which we don't own and then I saw a deer standing in the mist. I did get a couple of pics.

Jane why don't you get a bag of soda. You only have to mix it with boiling water and a good squirt of bleach and pour that down the drain and it will clear all the grease without any horrid digging and fuss. I do a whole pack of soda in the bath sometimes with hot water and bleach and it clears us right through.

Annx Report 27 Dec 2018 17:47

Evening All,

We had a nice lie in today and slept like logs! :-) We pottered to a garden centre just a few miles away and they had obviously started their sales as a lot of the Christmas decorations had gone! Mind you almost everything was half price so it's not surprising. I was tempted to get another water spinner, but OH put me off as he said none were as nice as the one we'd got! :-S

We played our second game of Scrabble this Christmas and he beat me again, so it must be my turn to win tomorrow.

When we went out the new puppy next door was in the driveway so I went to see her. She's snowy white and very cute and after being a bit unsure, she soon came up and was licking my hand. She's sleeping from 10pm to 6am and they have fenced off the patio for her at the moment which is a good idea while she's so little. She was going for her vaccinations this afternoon so we'll probably be seeing her trotting up the road for walks soon.

It's nice to chill out after your busy days Mandy. It sounds like Max was ready to chill too after the excitement of all the children playing with him!! Did he like his Christmas present? OH loves cold meats with pickles too. I think he will be having some tonight.

We watched the first episode of the ABC murders last night and thought it seemed quite good. I don't like these modern Poirot's though........I still have a picture of David Suchet in my mind. lol

I have the long and wide screen too.........edit, no it's back to normal!
