Ann did you get the snowflakes on the kitchen wall picture?

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 27 Dec 2018 18:18

The snow flakes look pretty Mel ,one of our neighbours has a projector beaming the snow flakes on the font of his house

That's better Mel ,strange how certain links can send the pages funny .
Yes thanks i got the images ,i loved the two little children one dressed in holly and the other in Mistletoe :-D lots there that will look good on the little buckets .
I'll have a look at the things to make as the children are always wanting to make things .

Jane that cough and cold has really got a hold on you ,what a rotten Christmas you've had ,did you manage to enjoy any of the day yesterday with Janice and Larry ?
We had a blocked drain a few months ago, i thought it was the sink blocked but it was the drain and Colin had some liquid stuff that he put down it smoked a bit and then there was such a loud well almost a bang !!!! :-D cleared it a treat though.

Max loved his presents Ann ,he's had a go at the ball thing with the handles each side ,he's after the bit that makes the noise when you turn it over so we have to keep an eye on him ,if he gets that into him he'll be making a strange noise :-0 :-D
It will nice to see the little puppy go trotting off ,he won't be white for long once he's out walking :-D

No I still haven't got the snowflakes Mel.....they do sound nice. :-) I bet the deer in the mist made a lovely photo and in view of your place too! I still need to have a look at the info you sent, so thank you. I should get chance tomorrow after beading.

No, it wouldn't do for Max to swallow the noise Mandy. I bet he enjoys a tug of war with his toy with the handles. I love the idea of you and DIL taking turns to fill the hamper and give it to each other. I'm still catching up with the Chateau episodes so will look out for the buckets! I bet you wondered what had happened with that bang in the drain.

Didn't you get one of those nasty coughs last winter Jane or am I losing the plot? This one does sound really nasty and you get no rest when they keep you awake. You must be worn out with it. Poor Chris having to sort the drain out. I always worry if I pour a bit of fat down and follow it with washing up liquid and a kettle of boiling water and hope for the best! I use oil for cooking, but its amazing how much fat there is in the tin after cooking meat.

Oh oh, his lordship beckons so I'd better go to watch some recordings if I want an early night, which I do if I want to be up early for beading.

Good evening all

Pleased to hear everyone has had a good Christmas, sorry your cough is still keeping you awake Jane.

I didn't get the snow flakes either Mel.

Gill that was good that Sandra cooked the Christmas dinner well done to her, I hope she enjoyed all her presents.

One of my presents was a full sized model of a Boston Terrier so life like it terrified our two cats and Ruby wanted to play with it, it's slightly bigger than her, I think Paul got it from Amazon.

Today I cooked a more usual meal red wine and sausage casserole with shallots, mushrooms and bacon. Still have far too much food around, every year I say I want get too much in but it won't go to waste with both Paul and Richard home all next week.

Just watching the ABC murders now

Gillx Report 28 Dec 2018 09:09

Morning all

I haven't had a chance to catch up with any posts yet so hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.

I've been in the garden on and off this past week getting it ready for the new water feature, I managed to finish it yesterday so rang the garden centre and they are delivering the water feature on Monday. I'm just off out to buy some electric wire so I can connect the pump for the electrics, it comes with a 10 metre wire but it's not long enough, we've already bought a connection so just need the extra length of wire now.

I'm off to mum's after that so will try and get back on here later this afternoon. <3

OH is still coughing but apart from that he's starting to feel a bit better although he will need to go back to the doctors to see if he needs more Antibiotics. I'll give the doctors a ring to see if he can get in today as he took his last Antibiotic this morning.

I feel like I haven't stopped lately and haven't had any free time to come on here. OH was really ill on Boxing Day so I spent most of the day looking after him, then of course I was in the garden laying flags and moving some scaffolding boards to put the water feature on, I was going to use the flag stones but they weren't smooth and with the feature being so big I was concerned the weight of the water feature, when it's full of water, might get damaged on the uneven flags so thought it better to use the scaffolding boards instead. I've also replace four pieces of the screening which took two days to do as that had got damaged with the wind. I've also been baking cakes and cooking all the nibbles I was suppose to do for Christmas Day. So all in all I haven't stopped lately.

I'm looking forward to sitting down and catching up with all the posts later. I've also noticed I have three messages for my family tree which I'll look at later too. So another busy day. I was so tired yesterday after spending all day in the garden I went to bed before 11pm which is very unusual for me.

Anyway I'd better go, OH and Sandra are waiting for me so we can go out.

Morning Gill and all,

Another frost this morning, well and last night. It came in after the mist yesterday and the car was white early in the evening. Its all gone now and there's a promiss of another quite bright day here. The skies are blue streaked with white cloud with a bit of grey under them and the suns trying to shine through. At least its not raining.

The snowflake lamp is now in the hall so its snowing there.

Today I have to sort out some space to put all my new plastic boxes oh bought me for my craft stuff. I like those A4 deep boxes as I can get all y stuff in for needle felts and I have one full to the brim with glue sticks now and a lot of them are in glitter colours. He also bought me another glue gun the same as my other one so I can put glitter glue in that. I have all my glitter and glas paints in another one and all my felt patterns in another and scissors in another, you can never have enough scissors...... and they all stack nicely with a place in the front you can lable them. I have never been so organized in my life!!!! They are in a little bookcase in the lounge behind the fireplace.

I have a perfectly alright printer, scanner, photo copier that for some reason beyond my comprehension will not function. It is several years out of warranty. Do Microsoft "drop" older printers from functioning with their operating systems ?

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 28 Dec 2018 13:32

If the printer is not campatable with the sytem you are running on your pc than they won't work. If you have upgraded to a different Windnows ie 10 and they worked when you had a lower Windows then you need to but new ones. We had to do that when we went to Windows 10. We have a printer copier and a printer and two screen that don't work on Windows 10.

Just going through the posts, OH has just nipped back to mum's as I left my handbag there.......silly me. I bought Sandra some light up hearts for her bedroom as she said it's going to look a bit dull once all the Christmas decorations come down, so she's pleased to still have some lights in her room once Christmas and New year are over.

Fancy Ann and I getting you the same birthday card Frank. I see you had a lovely time. Wasn't that nice of Conrad to pay so Ros didn't need to.

You sound very organised Mel, I must admit I love boxes and baskets and the boxes that stack on top of each other, are great. I tried to look at your snowflake lamp but when I clicked on it nothing happened. Could you send it again please, thanks?

Is Ruby still wanting to play with the model Boston Terrier Anne? Your poor cats, it must look very realistic to frighten them.

I noticed you were a bit upset when you rang Ruth Jane, I hope you are alright now. Our old next door neighbour will be 100 on 14th May next year, what date is Ruth's birthday, is it the same day?

Jane

Jane Report 28 Dec 2018 17:33

Afternoon All
Gill what a good job your Mum doesn't live too far away ,with leaving your handbag there. You sound as though you have been your usual whirlwind and Nursemaid too with poor OH not being so well over Xmas. This dreadful cold/cough virus has just knocked so many of us for 6 this Xmas. Ann,I can't remember if it was last year or maybe the year before I had something similar. It may well have even been 3 yrs.

Mel are you going to remain organised now with all your boxes :-D :-D. Or like me and it all starts so well but soon gets in a mess again.I always have such good intentions of getting things organised ,it just never lasts long :-S.

Mandy I hope Max doesn't manage to get hold of the squeaky bit of his toy. Some dogs just seem to love to wreck and then eat the darned things !!. I am sure Chster swallowed a couple of the inner squeaker bits on his toys.
Ann I can't remember if you said what breed this new little puppy is. is is a Westie or a Bichon Frise? It sounds adorable. I wonder if you might do a little bit of doggy sitting :-D.

Oh Anne a life size pretend Ruby !!!!. What fun for Ruby. Not so much fun for your poor cats though :-D I hope they are too traumatised LOL

David I hope you get some help regarding your printer .I am no help at all I am afraid. As Mel says maybe it is just not compatable now .I know nothing of these things.

Well H&G have done their Safari and have seen a Bear and Cub,lots of Elephants including a baby one, Alligators,Monkeys , Water Buffalo and a Leopard. I am really pleased they got to see a Leopard in the wild.I havent had any pics through other than one of them in the jeep and I did notice Gareth was wearing Khaki coloured T Shirt and Shorts :-D :-D.He would have made sure he was dressed in the right gear :-D

Would you believe it .Our boiler has just started playing up :-S. It was this time last year (you might remember ) when it packed up and we were waiting for almost 10 days for B Gas.It was frezzing temps then and snow. We have got it going so have heat and hot water but if it fails again to start then it will be a call to B Gas.

Hannah sent me a link to view the official Wedding pics. Some are lovely especially ones of her and Chris. They are very special . It is going to take ages to go through them several times(or more) to decide which ones we want to have. I already had the tissues out again!. I heard Chris having a sniff too in the study
:-D

Rib Eye Steaks for us tonight .They look good but I just dont seem to have the appitite or taste at the moment.

Thank you, I think MS and HP are being mercenary, There ought to be a link available.
There's nothing wrong with the printer.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 28 Dec 2018 17:48

Jane I shall probably end up like you and start off tidy and then things just get bunged anywhere. I am trying to sort out the top of the cupboards in the uti room at the mo so I can put a lot of my craft stuff in there in my new boxes. Its where I can reach easily so anything not used a lot has gone on top of the cupboards over this unit. These were the old kitchen cupboards that were in the bungalow when mum moved in and she put them in the uti room. I must clear the bottom ones out too as they have a lot of mums dollshouse stuff in them and some bits to make those washing up dolls out of scourers, wooden spoons dusters and dish cloths. There's a whole box of that so thats going to be sorted and I may make some of them up if I can remember how they go together.

I have even labeled some of the new boxes!!!!!!!!!!!!! How's that for organisation?

Hope the boiler is ok and carries on working and you don't have trouble like last year.

I think it was last year you had that cold and cough you could'nt shift but time passes so quickly now I could be wrong.

I hav'nt got anything out of the freezer for tonight and have only just thought about dinner. He may be happy with just a bit of Ham and chips but its not his favorite dinner. I would be happy with just another sandwich but I know he won't be.

Evening All,

Mostly dull but no frost here. There was even a bit of finne drizzle this afternoon.

Thanks Mel and Mandy for sending the snowflake pic. It looks lovely with them all over the wall Mel!

Yes Gill fancy us both getting the same card for Frank!! lol. I hope your hubby soon feels better and that you managed to get an appointment for him. What is your water feature like? Does it have it's own water sump? I made a waterfall one when we redid our garden. I used some artificial waterfall pieces and mixed real rocks around the sides and put a seperate tank for the water to drain into. I would quite like another where the water runs from the top of a group of monoliths, but it would be very expensive. It sounds like you have been very busy again! Sandra is going to love having the lit up hearts in her room.

I told my friend at beading with the new cat that Sandra would like to see a photo of Chloe so she is going to see if she can get one to send to me. :-) She is getting on better with one of the other cats now and they will lie quite close to each other (a few feet!) without any spitting!!!! :-0 Topsy is always interested in our handbags and does the rounds having a good sniff and chin rub on them. To think a year ago they would run and hide as soon as they saw us appear.

Our bit of turkey and ham that was left went in the bin yesterday. We just have the Christmas pud, some sausage rolls to cook, a few mince pies, choccies and crisps left now and they will be gone by the New Year. OH didn't even bother with a bottle of wine this year and shared my white grape Schloer instead and liked it. I think he has a couple of bottles of beer and Ginger Wine left. We both said we felt better for not over indulging and there has been less waste. Just thought....... the fridge has enough cheese in to last us a month I think! :-S :-D

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 28 Dec 2018 18:30

O that reminds me I have a Guiness Cheder at the back of the top shelf in the fridge. I must'nt forget it.

Back to my tidying........................................... I need a damp cloth to get the dead spiders up! :-(

David I have a HP printer doing nothing on my desk as it won't work with the Windows 10 I now have.

Annx

Annx Report 28 Dec 2018 19:00

That's good getting your stuff organised Mel! A lot of my beading is easier to find now it is grouped like with like in boxes. I have always tended to be very good with paperwork and have a filing cabinet with labelled sections and shelves of labelled ledgers, but I'm not so good at getting it filed away! With craft stuff I have always had too much for what storage space I have. lol

It could well be a while longer since you had one of these nasty bugs Jane, time flies by so quickly. Did you manage to get your tree down and moved outside? That pine scent can be very strong and has obviously irritated your throat.

The puppy is a Westie and we haven't even heard it bark yet, so fingers crossed it won't be as bad as the Shih Tzu the other side of us. I don't think they would want that themselves and you can tell by it's demeanour that it isn't frantic like the Shih Tzu. I wouldn't mind dog sitting, but would worry to death about anything happening while we had it. It must have cost a bit with it's mother being a Cruft's winner and be quite valuable!! :-0

Anne I can just picture Ruby with the other 'dog'. We saw a little terrier act just the same with a plastic, realistic little dog at a garden centre once! It was so comical to watch! Dashing towards it and back, bending down in a play bow like they do when they want to play and barking at it! lol.

Annx Report 28 Dec 2018 19:09

That's interesting what you say about HP printers. We have an HP Photosmart printer that worked fine on OH's laptop with Windows 10 and my laptop with Windows 8.1. Then months ago it stopped working on OH's laptop and nothing we did to try and reconnect it worked. I thought an 'update' on his Windows 10 had caused it and am going to ring our repairer people in the next few days to see if they can sort it as I am having to do loads of printing for him at the moment. Now you have me wondering if it's the same problem you are talking about?

David

David Report 29 Dec 2018 04:15

My HP 1050/J410 was working fine with a previous PC I's upgraded to Win 10.
My present PC is running Win 7 Ultimate on a reinstall I did recently. The printer and the operating system "seem" incompatible.
Does the printer's software retain a memory of which PC OS it's linked to ?

David

David Report 29 Dec 2018 04:19

If I could find the HP installation disc I'd reinstall the printer,
but I can't so I wont, if that makes sense.

Morning all,

Had a lie in this morninge weather is dull and dreary and there seemed no point in getting up so I dozed off again after a visit to the bathroom. Oh came and joi ned me and he's still there whatching the back of his eyelids as Mandy would say. O he's just come into the kitchen.
