Morning Gill and all,
Cloudy this orning and there was a frost last night. It dos'nt ook very warm out there but I hav'nr been out yet. Oh has as its dry he's been doing something outside if only sawing up wood. I hav'nt heard the staplel gun going so he was'nt putting the wire on the frames.
He did'nt have the heating on when I got up saying it was'nt that cold but I wanted it on for a little while just to warm the air up a bit inside. Sometimes in here it feels colder in than it does out!
Ann your sisters family must be so shocked too. I was'nt sure if she had a partner or not or any children. She was certainly young for something like that to happen and thats two now that we have heard of in a short space of time.

A bit grey here and not very pleasant but a bit warmer than it has been and still dry!
We went to the Range for coffee then picked up some bits for great granddaughter to play with next weekend when they stay here for two nights. Nothing expensive she is two years and eight months so doesn't have a very long attention span! Then we called in to B&M and got a few bits.
OH washed the car when we got back and I have just beed fiddling around doing nothing really. :-D

Good afternoon to you all,
Ann, So sorry to hear your news about your sister. Had she been ill recently ?? You are bound to be shocked, as are we all when it happens. There is only my Sister and I left out of 10. I think about that story of 10 LITTLE N@@@@@ BOYS. and there was two.
Thinking of which I still haven't heard where my sister is, or how she is. I rang my SIL and she promised to let me know what's going on, typical IF I DON'T RING, they don't ring me.
I managed to sleep for 5 hours last night, and I had toast and marmalade for breakfast. Just had a coffee, but nothing to eat. I want to be able to eat something this evening with Ros.
Certainly not as cold this morning, and it's getting warmer by day later this week. We had a good frost this morning, to wake up to.
Heard from Simon last night. The operation on the dog, was a complete success from what the vet says. Just a matter of keeping an eye on his recovery. So not all doom and gloom
I dispart with my DOCTORS. After yesterday, the Doctor told me SHE WANTED TO SEE ME THIS MORNING. When I got there, she's not on duty, and the doctor I saw knew nothing about the talk we had. So I ended up seeing the nurse to have my dressing changed, and having a blood test, (I lied, and said the doctor wanted one doing.) They wanted a water sample, BUT I COULDN'T OBLIGE. I will send one tomorrow morning. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Now that the Village has no PUB. The football Club is opening from 5.30 until 10.00 pm for the locals, who want a drink. It can only be good for the clubs funds, and a service to the village. So as I haven't benign a pub since before last November, I might get Ros to pop me up there tonight as there is a MATCH on T.V. that I would like to watch, and of course have a pint or three. lol lol.
Ros is suffering with her back again. There is nothing they can do anymore, so she just has to GRIM AND BARE IT. Poor girl, keep taking the tablets, which seems to help most of the time. It upsets me, to see her dragging herself around the bungalow in pain. But, there is nothing I can do, but try to make her rest when she can.
I was looking at flowers on line, to give Ros. a treat. BUT when I saw the price they want, for next to nothing, in the way of blooms and greenery. They can keep them. I will go into Town with her later in the week and go to a florists and get some, that are worth the money. I'm not tight, but I won't waste money, for the sake of it. !!!!
Hope you are all pleased with your various family results, health wise. Take care all of you. xxxxx

Afternoon all,
Nice sunny day here after a frosty start but still a bit chilly though
We had a nice meal yesterday and as we were all to full when we got home we didn't have the cake ,they did sing happy birthday though and they are coming back tonight to have the cake Little Lewis is so funny ,for his pudding he had warm brownie with ice cream , he had nearly finished and i asked him if it was good ," yes Nanny it is but it's not what i ordered i wanted ice cream with chocolate sauce " :-D then he said " oh i've got some ice cream juice left " he meant the melted ice cream :-D When everyone raised their glasses to wish me Happy birthday he turned to his Mummy and said " Mummy i want to knock the glasses together to say cheers " Both son and DIL looked at each other and said where did he get that from LOL
Glad your feeling a bit more human now Gill ,your garden is going to look a picture when all your bulbs start to flower . I wonder if there will be much mess when they start to spray the rendering . Yes looking forward to the Sewing Bee tonight ..
Shopping day again Mel they just keep coming round don't they .
Frank they must be over the moon with the good news on the Lab's operation. Fancy the doctor not being there ,at least you've got the blood test done and by taking in a water sample perhaps they will be able to get you sorted out soon

How are you today Ann after the news of your sister? I've been thinking of you and hope you are okay <3
Loved the comment little Lewis made Mandy about his ice cream juice, he's quite a character isn't he? Yes, I wonder where he learnt to knock the glasses together, it's surprising how much children take in from watching and listening to adults isn't it?
Pleased to hear Simon's dog's operation went well Frank, that must be a relief for everyone. It must of been quite a worrying time for a while. Fancy the doctor not being there when you arrived Frank. You were crafty getting the blood test done, but if it tells you what is wrong then that'll be a good thing. Sorry to hear about Ros, hope she starts to feel better soon.
Shopping day again I see Mel, they do come around quickly don't they? We don't have a set day for shopping but you can guarantee the day after we do the shop Tesco's will send the money off vouchers, it happens most of the time and today was no different. Shopping done yesterday, vouchers arrive today. So they'll be used next week now.
So your car is nice and clean now AnnG, Ours needs a good clean, along with all the fascia boards and windows on the bungalow, but there's no point in doing any of them at the moment with all the dust and dirt from next door. OH did clean the car the other day but it was mucky again within a few hours, so that was a waste of time. How nice to buy your great granddaughter a few things.
I bought the famous five books for Sandra for her birthday the other day. I'd bought her the secret seven for Christmas and she really loves them. There are 10 books in each box and she's up to number 6 on the Secret Seven already. Hopefully she'll enjoy the famous five just as much.
I've been told the rendering isn't being done until next week now, but they did say they were putting some plastic up over our fence to stop any splashes so that's good. They have made a start on putting plastic up over the new windows and some tape along the edge of the new fascia boards, but we're disappointed they're not doing the rendering today like the boss said was going to be done. The roofer hasn't turned up either, so we're not sure when that's going to be finished. They are very slow and spent most of the morning laughing and joking with each other, it's no wonder jobs are progressing slowly.

We didn't have any more plans for today Mel but OH spent a lot of time out in the garden tidying things up and cutting things back. I have been messing about in my craft room not doing a lot really.
Mandy, pleased that you enjoyed your birthday meal. little ones do say some funny things don't they.
Frank good for you asking for the blood test and how could the doctor 'forget' she was not in work this morning> Unless she was unwell. Hope the blood test solves any problems for you. Sorry to hear about Ros's back, it can be the wost sort of pain, I suffer with my back as well as sciatica in my legs.
Gill, I suppose if the builders are working with no boss on site they will take advantage. Presumably they are paid by the hour! At least they say they will cover the fence to guard against splashing. When is Sandra's birthday? If she enjoyed the Secret Seven she will love the Famous Five series. I can remember the excitement of getting the next book in the series. I loved bith the Famous five and The Secret Seven.

Ice cream juice especially with chocolate sauce is GOOD :-D. Chinking glasses and saying Cheers too. Little Lewis is on the ball Mandy :-D :-D
Frank I am so glad that things are looking positive for Simon and Sally's dog.I hope he is going to be well now for a long time. Hope you manage to get your sample in for tomorrow . I am sorry that Ros's back is playing up again .If she eases up on what she is doing does it make it easier ?
I still love and remember so well the Secret Seven and The Famous Five. They were just the best books in my childhood. There is just something special about those stories . I bought a Famous Five book from a second hand book stall on the South Bank in London a couple of years ago. I think I said that Hannah and Gareth bought everyone of their wedding guests a book that reminded them of them . They bought 62 books !!!! That was quite a feat!. My book was a Bunty Annual 1966:-D :-D. I love it. 'Toots' was my favourite
My day was cut short.I was out this morning to visit the Medical Centre to check meds I had booked on line .I booked two different tablets on line but only one showed up . Got that sorted and then went to Lidl , Dunelm and Currys . I just got home when Fitz turned up. I hadn't even unpacked my shopping .I had plans to do some sorting out as Chris was out for lunch with his old work friend Sue. So that all came to a halt and I cut some fresh bread just bought and some Paté and opened a bottle of wine. I knew Fitz wouldn't turn any of that down :-D :-D So today has gone and I have got nothing done :-S
Chris and I have spent the last hour still trying to change my pic !!!!. Nothing works. I am going to ask on new thread just to see if there are any other ideas as to how I can do this.I don't want to remain a shadow man :-|

Afternoon All,
Frank my sister had been in hospital several times recently on antibiotics with infected legs. They were waiting for the infection to clear up so they could clear the veins to improve the circulation. I'm sorry to hear Ros's back is causing her so much pain and fancy your doctor not being there when she'd told you to see her this morning. Good news on the Lab though. It must be a weight off their minds.
I went to the hospital meeting this morning, but the traffic with all the roadworks was queuing for ages in places. I got there in time though and it was a good talk about what affects our eating habits, good and bad!
My car looks the dirtiest it's ever been just now so I must take it up to the village car wash. One of my chores aged 17 was to wash dad's car and the little van on Sunday mornings!
Gill, thanks for the reminder, I must record THe Sewing Bee! I'm glad you are feeling more human now, and doing your tree will give you some rest in the warm. I'm not very good at sticking to one bit of my tree as I get bored and start flitting onto another bit! Then I never know where I've got to and it's my own fault! :-0 It's good Sandra is enjoying those books. Does she like jigsaws as well?
Lewis is funny isn't he Mandy.........I like the idea of icecream juice! It's funny him knowing about knocking glasses together as well. He obviously doesn't miss much! lol.
Hope you get all your shopping Mel and that the staple gun had been out while you were at the shops.

I'm pleased the op on the Lab went ok for Simon and Sally, Frank and hope it makes a full recovery. Bless.... 11 years is a good age for a Lab.
Just love the ice cream juice!! When I told oh he gave a little laugh so he thought it good too. Lewis may have seen someone on the telly chinking glasses and saying cheers. You do wonder where they get these things from. He is such a little character and I love to hear what he comes out with.
FRANK I am cross with you because you did'nt ask the doctor if you could have some OMEPRAZOLE. Jane agreed with me that they would help you so much with your indigestion. Both oh and I are on them, I'm on 10mg and he is on 20mg. Sorry Ros is suffering again with her back. Get her to rest and do some more knitting at least she will sit to do that.
I have never read the Secret Seven books or the Famous Five. I did'nt read as a child as I was always busy doing something else. In fact I never read a book till I was married and mum gave me one to read that she had read and said it was good. That started it I read lots after that one but mostly old fashioned ones.
So what did you learn about good and bad eating habits Ann? I bet I do all the bad ones.
Gill its good the builders are going to cover the fence with polythene to stop splashes. Its alway good to find out what they are going to be doing so you can brace yourselves for the affects it may have on your property.
Shopping all done. I only had four things onthe list today but still managed to spend £69. I have stopped buying cakes for the cuppa inthe afternoon. I am going to make some instead. I made the scones the other day and we still have a couple of those left so I may make some of my spicy buns in the week.
Must get my pie in the over for tonight. He has his usual curry.

Sorry to hear you can't put your new pic on here Jane. Would you like me to try and see if it will go on mine, just to make sure it's not a problem with Genes. Don't worry I won't leave it on there, but it might explain if it's a problem your end or not. If you would like me to try, email the picture and I'll have a go. I don't remember you mentioning Hannah and Gareth buying books for all their wedding guests. I can imagine it was quite a fete having to buy 62 books. It sounds like you're very pleased with the one they bought you. 1966 was the year I was born.
No Ann, Sandra doesn't really like Jigsaws, she said they are to hard for her to do, even the smaller ones. She finds it difficult to understand what it is she has to do even though I've explained it to her. Her concentration isn't very good either. I think she prefers to do things that don't take to long to do.
I on the other hand love jigsaws and have made quite a few in the past and framed them, unfortunately only one fits in this bungalow, so all the bigger ones I gave to a charity shop. One of the people who worked there loved the one of London lit up at night, I must admit I liked that one myself but it was far to big for our bungalow and took up to much space in the loft, along with a pile of others the same size. I often wonder if the person working in the charity shop bought the London one, all I know is that they were all sold in the end, so all my hard work didn't go to waste.
Sandra's birthday isn't until the end of April AnnG but when I asked about the famous five books last week I was told there was only one left in the shop, so I thought I'd buy it and put it away for her, she should of finished the secret seven by then.
I've never heard of the Mallory Towers Books by Enid Blyton Mandy, are they similar to the famous five and secret seven?
Sandra is watching her Hollyoaks that she recorded earlier, so I've recorded the sewing bee so we can watch it together tomorrow. Just watching Rich kids go skint with OH, some of these posh children really don't have a clue about real life, they certainly understand more after living with people less fortunate than themselves.

Morning all,
Dry here but cloudy too. Don't know what it is supposed to be like today as I hav'nt seen the forcast.
I was tired out yesterday and actually went to bed at 12.30 which is early for me. Slept like a log till oh woke me this morning and said to get up as he was going outside to start on the frames and wanted the heating off as the boiler vent is just where he is working.
He's also told me he is taking me to Rosemoor for a birthday lunch tomorrow. I hope its not too crowded. Then we are going around the gardens to see what out. I expect there will be bulbs out and the camelias so it should be rather nice as I hav'nt been for ages.

Good morning to all my friends,
Mel, I did reply to your Email about the tablets and explained that I AM ALREADY ON THEM !!!
I feel like a new man this morning, I had a great nights sleep, and didn't wake until 6. 45 am. Went to the loo and got back in bed for an hour. I was up with tea made before Ros came out about 9.00 am.
Is it to early to cut the lawns.?? I had heard mowers going, but I remember that if you cut the grass, then get a FROST it can kill the lawn.
We watched "Dr Martin" on his tour of the islands of the USA. how interesting they are.
Nice bright sunny day here, the wind looks a little chilly, but as I haven't been out, I might be wrong.
Lewis has certainly got us all smiling MANDY. Fancy him knowing about clinking the glass's together and saying "CHEERS" I loved his ICE CREAM JUICE. lol lol.
I see you are like Ros. Mel, I think she goes to get what's on the list, and just keeps adding the basket I have told her to use up all her cleaning sprays etc. before buying more. You can't get another can/bottle in the cupboard under the sink. I bet some of the thinks under there are 10 years old. !!!!
Ros came back yesterday from shopping with 10 red roses that I told her to get for herself. £5.00. What a difference to what you will pay online. Morrison's had a NEW ROSE on display with THREE different coloured petals. I saw them advertised on T.V. last night £4.00 each. They look gorgeous.
I think I will take Ros out to lunch today, sometime after 1.00. It will save me or her cooking, and as she is out tomorrow evening (CHOIR) I won't be ablest treat her then.
Jane I hope you manage to sort out your picture. Is it something JAMES could do. ??
Right I'm off for my shower. just thought, the nurse didn't mention about going back for dressing change. I think we have a load in the medicine draw, so Ros could do them. I'm sure it's healing well now.
Be good, if not be careful ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) xxxx

The suns out here now and its a beautiful day. Warmish too.
Oh has told me he is taking me out for dinner tomorrow and a trip around Rosemoor where we will have lunch and drive around the gardens in the electric buggy things. He has booked them for both of us. He can't walk very far so it should be great to get about and see everything. I find it hard to walk the whole lot now. Its not bad going down to the veg garden but its the getting back up again. I shall take my camera if I remember. If I don't like the main menu we can have their pasties and then get F & C on the way home.

Morning All,
Sun's out here and I spotted some mauve crocus are out in the front garden. I was awake for a couple of hours from 3.00am, but seem to have had a slight headache since the injection last Thursday so that hasn't helped. Everything I see like the crocus is reminding me my sister won't see these things anymore which makes me so sad, but I think these thoughts are only to be expected. We are going to the cinema soon to see The Favourite before OH is off to a meeting later. I also need to collect my glass after 6.30pm........I wonder how it has turned out......I'm not hopeful as some looked as if it had been knocked out of position after the first firing!!
Frank I'm with you on the price of flowers and tell OH not to get me any on the day! He always gets me a few cards, but we don't usually do gifts and I don't think we will be eating out tomorrow as he has more meetings. I hope Ros is a bit better with her back today and it's good you are healing well. We are back on the eyedrop routine with OH, every 2 hours for 2 days, then 6 times a day then less etc. Another eyedrop is 3 times a day.
Mel, it is a good idea to go to Rosemoor to see the bulbs and Camellias. The weather here is set to be warmer and sunnier as the week goes on so hopefully it will be the same for you. Edit just saw your post about the buggies. What a great idea and lunch too. It should be a lovely day out!
I thought Hannah's idea to get everyone a book was great too! I never had the Famous Five or Secret Seven books either. I did have books like Black Beauty, Heidi, What Katy Did and Did Next, but my parents didn't read much and there was no bookcase at home. Dad did have books but they were technical books on building or cars. I remember persuading dad to put a shelf across the alcove where my bed was so that I could put my books on it!
I give my old jigsaws to charity shops as well Gill. They say they are soon snapped up. Yes I can see that Sandra might not have the patience with a jigsaw. Making her cards is ideal for her though.
Eyedrop time now and then off to the cinema so BBL.

Afternoon all
Lovely and sunny here, warm with it to. OH and I have spent all morning in the garden clearing away the leaves and watering the pots. We haven't had much rain lately so they needed a drink.
Yes, it's fine to cut your lawns Frank, OH did ours about a month ago when it was dry and warm and even when we got some hail and snow the grass is fine. I would ask Barry to do it for you though, you wouldn't want to hurt your ribs again just when they are healing so nicely.
What a lovely birthday you're going to have tomorrow Mel, I hope the weather is nice for you, they say it's going to be warmer towards the end of the week. I'd love to see some pics if you take any.
I had the same thoughts as you Ann when my BIL passed away, it's almost a year and it still hurts. You know you can always talk to us. Thinking of you <3 I noticed a lot of crocus's and snowdrops coming up in the front garden this morning, they look so pretty. Mr Grumpy next door was actually nice to me when I went around to his this morning. I noticed one of the planters had been blown off the bit of wood we had underneath it so to straighten it up required us doing it from his side. I was really surprised when he said it was okay. Mind you he didn't look very well. He went out not long after we'd fixed the wood in place and isn't back yet which is not like him at all.
I had to move the pots of bulbs in the back that i took the covers off as the squirrels have started digging them up again. I've put them by our kitchen window now where I can keep an eye on them, it didn't take the squirrels long to attack them, the little so and so's.
Going to have some lunch now, then settle down to watch the sewing bee with Sandra. I've still got a cough and it's making my ribs and throat hurt, it's driving me mad and my runny nose doesn't help either. Luckily I don't feel as rough as I did a few days ago, so I suppose that's good. I just wish this cough would go.
