In the past we've seen our bin emptied into other people's or our bags in our bin lifted out and put in other people's bins. It saves them wheeling as many bins the few feet to the lorry to be emptied. We told the council then as there had been a big hoo haa about us not overloading bins due to health and safety for their binmen!! There's more in our bin now we don't eat out so they obviously found a lighter one to tip into ours. Two of them just lift the bin each side and upend it AnnG as our rubbish wheelies are quite small. I don't know how it works now, but years ago they would get paid according to getting a round of bins emptied, so the quicker they did it, the sooner they would go home. If it is like that now it would explain why the less bins the lorry needs to empty the quicker they will be done.

Sounds like you had a good outing AnnG and got some useful things.Great that there weren't many people too. When we called at the surgery in the next village there were long queues either side of the road for the 2 banks. They were keeping to the markers on the pavement though so that was good. OH couldn't understand why the doctors of all places hadn't had the letterbox flap removed for now so that everyone delivering their prescriptions didn't have to touch it. It's in a sheltered corner so would hardly be affected by rain.

My mum didn't like it when I said I was interested in doing family history, didn't know why I wanted to go 'delving into the past' as she put it. She wouldn't have liked the early births I too have found. She wouldn't even have liked me finding that grandad was fined for having no address tag on his dog's collar. lol. The direct line Quaker I found that was among the first settlers in part of Pennsylvania and is mentioned in a book I now have was an interesting find and led me to learn more about the Quakers. It really is an interesting hobby with many tragic circumstances that are very humbling and make you appreciate your own life, irritating husbands and all. :-D

I'm supposed to be doing a free mixed media 2 session course on line tomorrow but have no link or anything to join it with so I've emailed them.They changed the dates twice so it doesn't seem destined to happen.

I did a big jar of pickled cues yesterday, but couldn't face the reek of vinegar everywhere today so may do some more tomorrow. All OH was interested in was how soon he could eat them! Typical!

2018 was a cracking year for tomatoes here. We had lots of surprise plants come up in the raised bed, there must have been seeds in the compost heap. We were giving 'treat' boxes of them away and still had enough for chutney and soup.

AnnG - the Works do canvas boards which are cheap if you fancy working on something a bit firmer. Avoid their tubes of watercolour though :-0

Ours are self set ones from last year's plants Island. They look strong, but might be cross bred ones so I am wondering is they will be the original small cherry ones or bigger!

Good morning from a damp Gloucestershire, exciting times, haircut at 12 o’clock. Not sure what to do before we have to go there, some HW or other I suppose. BBL

Wet morning here too and it's hair cut day for us too :-D
I have a little ironing to do and the cobwebs are back so I'll tackle them but apart from that I think it's a lazy day for us unless the rain stops then we'll probably go out side and do a bit of dead heading .

It’s a soggy day here as well. It started raining just after I finished my garden jobs yesterday and was raining on and off all night.

A Tesco’s van has just stopped outside for my neighbour. She had Sainsbury’s less than a week ago and Iceland a couple of days before that and she pops to the shops from time to time as well. How much food can two people get through?

I am feeling on top of the world at the moment as granddaughter has just heard about her degree and she has been awarded a First. We’re very proud of her.

Must go and get on with a bit of h/w.

Same here rain rain rain dull dreary damp drizzley dire dreadful and disarstrous.

Don't know what I am going to do today as I did most of the ironing yesterday. I did the hoovering the day before and all the spider went up it too. Oh is just going out in his shed to sort more of his tools out so I may do some sorting of the uti room.

Vera you popped in befor eme. Congrats to your granddaughter for being awarded a First.

Just killing time now until we need to go out. Meanwhile I have dusted the lounge and dining room and made our Granddaughter's 18th birthday card.

I had another lovely day on Monday with all the family but forgot to take any pics.I am quite cross with myself.

Island I haven’t been in touch with Rach for a couple of years or so now.We did see eachother a couple of times .She is no longer on GR. I hope she is well.

I think Frank is usually the first to pick Runner Beans.We will be way behind him.

Now I have to get myself sorted and ready to go to the hospital for the chemo and cold cap :-| I need to be there for 1 pm so must have something to eat before I leave.Cheese and biscuits I think and maybe a bit of cherry and sultana cake.I will be to late for a hospital sandwich as they usually come round at midday.

We're having runner beans today woop woop! I'd only gone out to spray the blackfly again and spotted enough beans for a ritual eating of. I even took a photo, I love my homegrowns :-D

Jane, glad you had a good day yesterday but fancy forgetting to take photos, just too excited I suppose. did you have some nice presents?

tust had our hair cut.  Feels so light now but feels so much better. Very impressed with the way everything is set up. I waited in the car while OH went first, then when he came out Tracey disinfected everything and she then came out and called me in (the car was luckily parked right outside the shop). When she had finished I stayed in the chair and she brought the book to me for the next appointment then the card reader to pay. Not really pleasant wearing a mask as it is hot especially when the drier is going but it was fine once I got used to it. Price gone up a bit but not much and we have saved a few pounds not going! (about £60 I reckon. OH looked quite strange with his hair short as well but he said it felt better.

All these hair cuts I bet you do all feel better if you're used to short hair. I do oh's and never do mine just tie it up in a ponytail and wind it around and put a big clip thing in it. Out of sight and out of the way and no hairdresser bills. Since oh bought that cordless electric trimmer we have only cut it once and I said the other day did he want me to do it again and he said no!! not yet. So thats another job I don't have to do.

Island I like your thinking about dust and know just what you mean but I really must do my desk as the pc box is black and needs a wet wipe.

I have washed the mop on the Karcher window cleaner and am going to do windows today so I can see out of them. The bedroom ones are awful as we get a lot of pollen and dust off the trees out the back.

Nearly time to get lunch so I better go and do something.

I have one of the free online lessons on Mixed Media Art in a few minutes so as I know nothing about it really it should be interesting to see what we do.

The police had to arrest 9 men in a village brawl just 2-3 miles from here. There's rarely anything happens there, but they were using knives, baseball bats and machetes apparently. What is it with them that they need to go drinking and starting trouble. As if all the emergency services haven't had enough to do. Maybe my dad's generation thinking that conscription should continue wasn't a bad idea. That or make them go and help the farmers get the crops in!

Island, I don't dust as often as some, my thoughts are it will all be abck tomorrow, but it does give me something to do for a few minutes like when killing time this morning knowing we had to go out.
No I never enter the countryfile calendar comp. They have so many entries and you have to be lucky to get a subject other than your own garden.

Annx your turn will come. Yesterday, out of boredom and not being able to buy anything for so long I bought two painting magazines in Hobbycraft. I think there is something about mixed media art in one of them, will have to look.

I have now got all the bits I need to start but really need to create a space to work in as where I make my cards is a bit cramped. I have been studying my storage space too and think I need to clear a drawer out to take all the painting stuff. I will get around to it I promise.

Mel, my hair is too thick to grow long, I did grow it in my 20s/30s but it got too wiry and thick and I couldn't keep it tidy so it has been short ever since. From the age of about 8 to 12 I had long thick plaits.

Every time I comb mine loads falls out. I shall be bald soon at this rate.

Have sat at the pc and played cards since lunch was over so I better get on and do something. Chish and Fips tonight as my dad would say........

Hasve just washed all the back windows outside in the drizzle but I must say they look better than before 9 windows. I now feel as though I have achieved something today. Also washed the two wind miops thing, one off the Karcher and the one I just used on the long pole.

Back home again now. I forgot to take my steroids yesterday which is so bad so that meant I had to have a larger dose via IV before the chemo.Then the pipe from the cold cap leaked the freezing liquid down the back of my neck so that had to be started again with a new cap.Anyway at least today is done and dusted until 3 weeks time.
I think this next week or so will tell if my hair will start coming out.

Mel I can’t believe your hair is down to your knees!!!!!!! You should give it a good chop and it will probably strengthen up a bit and also maybe thicken up too.

Ann that sounded real nasty trouble in that village near you.Knives machetes etc!!! They are like wild animals.Good job there were lots of arrests.

Just to say congratulations to your granddaughter Vera! What a brilliant result. My dgd is in her second year, well she was! goodness knows when she will be able to resume studying normally! She hopes to go into teaching eventually, but who knows!!
My rather thick hair certainly needs cutting!! I'm still slightly hesitant so may leave it a week or two, if we're not back in lockdown by then! I used to have long hair years ago, dh was quite put out when I had it cut, but he isn't bothered now!!

I've got one of those karchers for window cleaning. We have large windows and having one of these has made so much difference.
