I managed to save a bit of money this afternoon. I did a survey from the big Co-op we go to and got a £2 voucher to spend there. I bought some calcium tablets and vitamin ones and got a £9 reduction for black friday. Then my hairdresser messaged me to alert me to their black friday gift cards, so I bought one of those that will save me £10 on my next visit. :-D

I had a moment's panic when an NHS marked letter arrived, thinking there was something wrong with my scan, then quickly realised it was my appointment confirmation for yesterday! Nothing arrives on time now does it.

I keep thinking it's Saturday today and that I need to get the food order done. I'm also too hot as OH feels the cold more now and the heating's been on a lot today.

t had a job when I tried to put something lese on Ebay

Done it again....................

Iv'e not done much today but I did dust my desk this morning and did up a parcel to post of the Clarice Cliff type vase I sold on Ebay and took that up the shop to get the label and post.I tried to put a little barrel and stand on Ebay and got it all entered in and when I went to post on the site it would'nt do it. I tried several times and in the end I had to get Ebay to ring me. It was good in a way as when she had sorted my posting out I asked if I could go on the global shipping as now the buyers have to pay the postage plus a buyers fee so you only get the paid price for your items. You get the label from Ebay and it goes to a central place in England and is sent out globaly from there.

Afternoon All,

Frost covered cars and rooftops here this morning but it's thawed and the sun came out. OH went for a walk to the garden centre this morning and came back with a book from The Works in there.I think it's one that's just come out to do with the interview with Princess Diana. It was a much cheaper price anyway.

Yes I got your email Mandy but didn't see it till this morning but have replied now. OH would love your stew and the smell in the kitchen, but he can't have much beef now and I don't like it so don't have it. We had fresh salmon, leeks, peas. carrots, broc beans and mash with Hollandaise packet sauce!

It sounds like you enjoyed your meal last night Mel. You seem to be getting colder weather with the snow and hailstones.

I don't fancy doing much today and it's very overcast now so I will mooch about and see what takes my fancy!

I'm coming for stew Mandy as I love it. Stu's is only about a mile and a half up the road from me and the roads were fine. I will see how far it is if I can find out how to do it on the new car.

I was going to go out this morning but the car was frozen up and we'd had hail in the night so the roof looked like it had curly white hair. The I had a text to say a parcel was coming today so I decided not to go. I did'nt want to leave it till late and it got dark as I don't like driving in the dark now. BIL has'nt come I expect he is over the moor with his camera.

I looked out in the evening and it was snowing again but as the ground was wet it wasn't laying ,this morning it was frosty but now the suns out its melting it away .
We want to walk up to boots for our tablets later and nip into Iceland for a few bits .

That sounded a nice tasty meal you had at Stu's, how far is Stu away from you and how were the roads .

Better get on I have some srewing beef out to make a stew its not my sort of meal but Colin loves it ,I'll probably have some fish .

Morning all,

Hard frost here tis morning everything is white but there blue sky and sunshine so that will soon burn the frost off where it can reach.

Mandy the fire looks toastie I shall have a look at that picture when I feel cold and it will warm me up.

Dinner last night was lovely once again. we had sausages, roast potatoes and sweet potatoes and celery, carrots, and leeks. He made a nice gravy with lots of wholegrain mustard in it. The sausages were from Lidl and they tasted of honey really lovely. O and one burger each too.

I had three spam this morning and tried to do the fishing thing but they would'nt go because of the content of the mail. I just tried to forward them by clicking on the forward thing at the top of the page.

Mum had thosse tiny bottles of drops for her eye when she was having the injection in the eye and you don't think they are going to last but they don't do too bad if you don't spill any. I did them for mum and for oh when he had his lens done in his eye.

I'm going to post this before it disappears.

Have a good day all whatever you are doing. <3

Good morning all. Another frost this morning but it was warmer!! only -3 when I got up and yesterday it was -4. Could see the frost on roofs was not quite as hard. Still I don't have to go out today which is fine. I had better get dressed or I will get cold sitting here.

Is one of the eyedrops Maxidex Vera? If so OH had those for his eye inflammation that started before last Christmas. Because they gave him too low a dose, he ended up on them for months and every hour 8 times a day at one point. His were tiny, fiddly bottles you had to press quite hard on the sides to squeeze a drop out. I think the old fashioned brown bottles with the rubber bit you squeezed at the top were much easier to use.

Mandy we have the light on that the extractor fan comes on with as well when we shower and we even had a more powerful extractor fan put in! :-D Even doing that we still tend to get a bit of mould in the corner of the outside wall in the shower. That wall faces north so is cold which probably doesn't help. The extractor fan isn't directly above the shower though which probably doesn't help and I'm going to ask if they can change the position when they do the work.

It must be disheartening for Chelsea when she doesn't even get a reply when she applies for some jobs, but they are probably not good places to work for if that's what they do anyway. It's hard just now with employers reluctant to take on many staff, but as OH always used to say somebody gets the jobs that are advertised!

That sounded a nice trip out and lunch today AnnG. Sorry, I shouldn't say 'trip' should I. :-0 We do all have to be extra careful and not wear shoes that slip easily as well when there's ice about. You got a bit of shopping too which is always good. What a price it is to send cards abroad now! I'm glad I only have two to send.

I hope you have a nice meal tonight Mel and that you know where all the lights are on your car now.

My goodness Anng you wouldn't want to have to many to send abroad at that price ,when you think years ago the card cost more than a stamp now its the other way round .

Gosh Vera is it a week already since your eye was done, you'll be glad to get your new glasses .

Snowing here now .

Talking of Christmas cards, as I don’t get to the post office that often I posted a card early to Iceland. Just a slim very light card in the envelope. £3.40 :-S

SuffolkVera Report 20 Nov 2025 15:59

I'm glad it wasn't too slippery when you went out AnnG. We reached the heady heights of 3 degrees today and had some bright sunshine but it's cloudy again now. I have to go out in the morning and was going early but I might leave it till mid morning in the hope that any ice will have cleared by then. I think we must all be careful if we go out. It's so easy at our age to break a hip or a wrist.

Gosh Mandy, your grandchildren are growing up fast. How can Lewis be 10 already? I'm sure it was only yesterday that he was a toddler!

Annx, my eye is pretty good now. It feels a bit gritty sometimes but there's no real discomfort. I have given up trying to put the drops in myself as I was wasting too many so OH is doing them for me. Even he has missed my eye a couple of times. The bottles are tiny and one has to be used twice a day and squeezed from the side, the other three times a day and pressed on the top and they are really awkward. I can't believe that a week has already gone since I had it done.

Today OH got our big box of Christmas bits down from high up in the garage and I sorted it out to see if I had any unused cards left from last year. I found a dozen so I won't need to buy quite so many this year. I'll go into the Cards for Good Causes shop in the library tomorrow. With my intermittent hand tremor I often only get one or two a day written so I must get started.

I've also made a start of tidying up and sorting out the troughs of geraniums OH brought into the conservatory when it started to get really cold at night. They had grown much too big and scruffy looking. I managed to do one trough. I've cut them back by a lot so I hope they survive. I did take half a dozen cuttings as well which might root or might not. We shall see.

Dinner is prepared but I shall need to get it in the oven soon and then I have some emails to write. I think I feel a CofT coming first - got to get my priorities right. Have a good evening everyone, stay warm and sleep well tonight.
