Thanks AnnG, we'll be leaving soon, I've charged Sandra's batteries for her camera so she's all ready for the off.

It's absolutely pouring down with rain here, so we're going a bit earlier than usual in the hope we can park nearer the door, that way we shouldn't get to wet walking from the car.

Sorry to hear your knee is still playing you up, I only have one step down to the kitchen and that was bad enough when I couldn't bend my knee properly, so I know how awkward it would be for you. I hope it eases soon and also your cold, hopefully the cough will stay away.

Right I'd better go and get ready, see you all tomorrow.

Have just noticed everyone saying how sorry you are about JANE. I haven't gone back on the posts, but assume it's the news that NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR. Love and thoughts with Jane and Family.

No improvement this end.

See you tomorrow.

Annx glasd all was well at the dentist. You are lucky you don't have my problem and have to have the teeth deep cleaned. I hate it and we have to go every 6 months as well. didn't your OH have an injection for his filling. My OH did last week when he has an unexpected filling and it was quite a while before he could eat.

Yes, none of us know how we would cope with Jane's news, or as one of the family. I have had it twice in the last 8 years, first when daughter had breast cancer and luckily only needed a lumpectomy. And secondly my sister 2-3 years ago when she was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in her lungs. However, she has medication which is working ok for her at the moment. With daughter we live with the knowledge that it could return any time like my sisters did. Horrid, horrid disease.

Mel yes I think it is the garden centre this evening for Gill and Sandra and OH of course.
I don't remember the last time I had antibiotics either. I think mine was for a tooth abscess.

Jane <3 <3 <3 <3 ((((hugs))))

I hope the cold clears up soon AnnG and dos'nt develope into a cough as thats what I have at the mo. It does seem a bit better this week though so thats good. I can't remember the last time I had an antibiotics, I think it may have been an injection when I had a tooth out but that would only have been a very small amount.

Hav'nt done the bathroom as I got sidetracked again instead I made a Santa peg but it took me all morning so I shan't be doing many more. I may have a go at snowmen instead. Not such a fiddley hat or beard.

Is the event at the garden center for Sandra tonight??????

Afternoon All,

Very cold here this morning. We got to the dentist's early and my checkup was first. Everything was fine and the dentist said my teeth were very good for 70 years old. 'Even better for 72 then' I said and said ' so it's just everything else that's falling apart." :-D It made him and his assistant have a little chuckle which is always badly needed at the dentist. lol I don't have to go back for 10 months now. :-D OH's appointment was early too and he has had a temporary filling and another appointment to have a proper filling. We had a jacket pot at a garden centre after half an hour he had to wait for the filling to set properly. He's now printing reams of stuff for his meeting later.

I need to pop out next to buy some wool I want and some felt for next week's craft class.

AnnG I know what you mean about coughs lasting ages as I'm the same. As soon as I get a sore throat I worry it will be one that lasts for weeks, sometimes with a cough. Only antibiotics will clear mine, as it is always a bacterial infection that sets in after a virus, and we all know how hard it is to get antibiotics these days. :-( I hope yours is just a cold that will clear up quickly and staying in today will probably help, also the rest might help your knee stop twingeing too. People sneezing and coughing without covering their mouths and using the toilet without washing their hands are two things that really annoy me. They just couldn't care less about anyone else.

I'm glad your knee is better Gill so you can go with Sandra to the event. Have you charged her camera up yet? I bet she will love seeing the displays.

I lay awake for ages thinking about Jane and her bad news too and wondered how I would cope with it. The truth is none of us know unless we are in that position. Lots of love Jane xxxx <3

Keep the hailstones down there Mel please. Sunny here at the moment, we should be shopping but being the first to complain when people go into shops coughing and sneezing I decided we should stay home. Didn't get much sleep last night as I couldn't breath with the cold so spent a lot of time thinking of jane and wishing for her that she had had a better outcome.

Gill, knee still tweeks a bit but only when going up or down stairs/steps. Just feel rough now because of the cold, hopefully it won't linger. I dread it turning into a cough because they seem to last ages with me.
So tonight is Sandra's favourite night out. I hope you all have a lovely evening.

Missed your post there Gill. The suns out now here and you can feel the warmth when you stand in it.

I must clean the big bathroom today as I did the little loo from top to bottom yesterday. I had a bit of black mould on the top of the window frame and used the clit bang mould remover on it. Its great and does a good job in no time. I had to stand on the loo seat to reach it as there not enough room to get the step up to the window and had to get my foot just right on the seat to balance as its a bit wobbley.

Morning all

I'm so sorry to hear your news Jane, take as much time as you need, but remember we are all here. Love and hugs to all of you. <3 <3 <3

Very wet here today, the rain is going to be with us none stop until tomorrow.

I thought I had posted yesterday, but realised today I hadn't. Happy belated birthday to Mel's OH and Mandy's son, hope they both had a lovely day.

I hope your OH managed to have his tooth fixed Ann. It sounds like he's getting a lot of things off the brother of his friend, nice to know some of it is going to a museum, what a lovely thoughtful thing to do.

Oh dear AnnG, now you've got a cold, wrap up warm and drink plenty. Pleased to hear your knee is better now. Mine is also better so going to the Christmas event is back on for me. Sandra's pleased as when I said she'd have to go on her own with her dad she didn't seem keen saying it wasn't fair on me, but I managed to persuade her that it wasn't her fault my knee hurt so she shouldn't miss out. She's chuffed we can all go together now. She's still looking at her pink lights every night, so I'm pleased we managed to do it for her in the end after having problems trying to find the right ones and connecting them for her. OH has ordered two more lights as spares incase anything happens to the ones she's got.

Sorry to hear your eye is still blurry Frank, not long now before it can be sorted. Keep your chin up, the time will soon pass then you we be able to see properly again and get back to your books. Having Biggles around will keep you occupied, I know how much you love having him around.

It is good that you have the support of your family. What a b**** awful disease it is. I do hope the oncologists can find something to keep you pain free <3 ????

I think struggling with your sight can make you tired Frank, so just give in to it till they sort your eyes out. At least you can enjoy Biggles' company. :-) Dinner sounds nice with the tray of roast veg, no preparing and easy to get and tasty! :-)

Oh Jane I am so sorry and can understand you must all be so shocked and upset with the news you have had. We will all understand you needing some time to take it all in as it must seem like an awful nightmare that just gets worse. I really don't know what more to say just now. Lots of love. <3 <3 <3xxx.

Evening All

I will keep this short and will then probably take a few days out from posting.
The news today was really the worst possible. There is no way I can have an operation . I will have an appointment in couple of weeks with the Oncology people to see if any kind of Chemo might help for a while. But it is incurable .
There has been lots of tears tonight here, but we are a strong close family so will 'cope' .Just taking things day by day is what we will have to do.

Late afternoon all,

Happy Birthday to Mr Mel and Mandy's Son.

Not in the best of moods, the eye is still blurred and I am constantly feeling tired out. All I have done today is sit in the armchair and rest.

Ros bought a tray of Veg to go in the oven tonight, with two nice pork chops.I have done potatoes, and parsnips, for roasting to go with them.

I am having trouble seeing what I am typing, so won't stay.

See you all tomorrow. Roll on next Wednesday. xxxx

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Mr Mel and to Mandy's son too! :-D :-D What did you get your son Mandy as I always find it difficult to think of things for OH. Mel they both sound like good presents for him, even if he would rather forget the day!! I bet he doesn't complain about fuss when he's tucking into your lovely Christmas dinner and sausage rolls! :-D

Well when I got home half the conservatory floor was covered in big bags of programmes. OH says he must have over 10,000 of them now with those in the garage. That's not all there will be either, as his friend's brother isn't even going to start clearing the garage till next summer and he showed OH that there are plenty of boxes of them in there too underneath lots of other stuff! :-(

One of my beading friends does some work at a charity shop and had brought some old fleece jackets in green, red and tartan and with gold ribbon to make a lovely Christmassy rag wreath. She's making another for some friends next as it turned out so well. Mine is still a work in progress as I want it to be smaller and I need to shorten the wire and also make a hanger for it.

We called at Sainsbury's cafe afterwards and I had some salmon with salad and new potatoes and OH had fishcakes. We then topped up with some shopping and then I got the Kimono (in a different colour though) from Primark across the road. We called at the dentist on the way back and OH has an appointment in the morning half an hour after mine, so we can go together which is good, as he might have to haul me upstairs with this knee which hasn't improved with doing the shopping this morning! lol

Happy birthday Mel's OH and Mandy's son. It was my fourth Grandson's 23rd birthday yesterday. He is volunteering in Guatemala at the moment. home end of November.

Jane, I think you will feel better once you know what you are facing, it is the unknown that is frightening. And it is good that you have your OH and Hannah to support you. I hope that they can suggest treatment that will bring a good outcome.
I love that photo of Thomas.

Annx I can't remember if yous aid what you were making today, hope you had fun whatever and that your Oh has got his tooth fixed with minimal discomfort.

Mel, thanks, knee seems better but "atchoo" guess what, I now have a cold. Goodness knows where I got that, there was a lady in the hairdressers last Friday so probably from her.

The cold has only really come out in the last hour which is lucky as we were out all morning in Evesham Country Park, did feel a bit sniffy so wondered if I was hatching a cold. Anyway, went to my favourite craft shop and spent money and also spent a bit in the garden centre which is a Blue Diamond one and members had various offers today including free coffees. We than had a 40% off voucher for Beefeater so had lunch in there near the garden centre. both had Haddock and chips and it was delicious.

It was bright and dry but chilly all morning but, as forecast, it was raining when we came out of the Beefeater.
