Its started raining here now and gone all cloudy. My washing is ok though as its under the cover oh put on the top of the gazebo thingy outside the back door so its staying there. at least it is getting a breeze on it.
I am off soon to go to Bideford for my eye test and I have to go up the village for my scripts and they have the road closed so I have to do a big round trip to get the the doctors surgery.
Sorry you had another bad night Frank but with all the grass cutting and window cleaning you have done today perhaps you will sleep better tonight. Don't forget I think we are all still getting over the hour change.
See you later.

Gill, I have done both lawns today, but haven't done the conservatory windows. They can wait for another day. I did my back lawn two weeks ago come Monday. My did it need cutting again. The green din is half full and it won't get emptied until Tuesday week.
I see Eric Bristol died last night in Liverpool only 60 years old. That's THREE sportsmen who have died in the last couple of weeks.
I spoke to my SIL this morning. She is absolutely broken hearted over the death of her son. She told me the family will understand if we are unable to get to the funeral. It's a 5 hour round trip, and poor Simon might well have to go to work at 6.00 pm. We don't know yet if he and Sally can get time of work.
Carolyn rang this morning asking if we would like to go to Hastings until next Wednesday. I politely refused, saying I have a doctors appointment. We have so many things o do here, plus it will mean eating out every day, and with the holiday coming up, it's extra expense we can do without. Ros has her hair and nails to be done also.
That bit of sun is nice, but like Gill said the wind is very chilly. Roa want to go in the garden for a couple of hours, but I have told her NO. it's too cold for her to be out there sitting on her little stool, weeding and planting. We will see if it's any warmer tomorrow.
It seems that these bad nights are coming to regular. Madam wants me to see the doctor, as she thinks there must be a reason for them. I don't agree, it's just my sleep clock isn't working very well lately. Plus I don' do anything to make me tired. I perhaps should start staying up later at night, like Ros and Mel. lol lol
Half leg of lamb for tonight. Ros has insisted on doing the vegetables and cooking today, to give me a break.
Someone, is in their garden BANGING at something, that together with the dog barking, it's a lovely afternoon to have the tele up LOUD, and listen to NAT.GEO.
I might, jus might, try to get forty winks. !!! One can but hope. lol lol

Oh Frank, not another bad night, you must get fed up of it sometimes. Be careful you don't over do things today, maybe you could leave your back lawn for another day with you doing the front one and your windows. That was nice of Harvey to sort out the covering on the shed and fence panel as least that's a few jobs out of the way and saved you doing it. I don't have any washing to hang out, good job to as it's far to windy out there, I wouldn't want it blowing into the neighbours gardens :-D :-D
OH's just finished both our lawns and said it's bitter cold, so he's having a hot cuppa to warm himself up before we watch the F1. The lawns look better now. I must admit it's made such a difference to the garden and hopefully won't need doing again for a while. I'm surprised he could do them today with all the rain we've had lately. We moved another pot plant before as it was looking a bit worse for wear, we think it was to windy where it was so it's in a more sheltered spot now. I just hope it recovers and we don't lose it. It's handy having plants in pots instead of in the ground, you can move them about when ever you need to.

Morning all,
One achy old man here, who had very little sleep again last night. Was in bed early but could not get to sleep. Got up 1.00 am until 3.30, and was awake again at 6.45.
Harvey put the new covering on the shed, and replaced the fence panel between the gardens.
The Pork Fillet had a funny taste to it, so neither of us ate it. Just ended up with VEG. I did have some cheese and biscuits later.
My first job this morning is the front lawn, followed by the windows at the back and conservatory. THEN if I am up to it. The back lawn. Then it will be a shower and shave and crash out in the armchair. I think we will have F & C tonight, them there will be no cooking and clearing up.
Hope your back get easier Jane. Nothing worse than not being able to do anything.
Your washing should soon dry girls in this breeze. Then you have the lovely job of ironing. Excluding Liz. Don't over do things, with lawn cutting etc.
See you all later. xxx

Morning all
Very cloudy and not so warm in the wind here today. OH is just cutting the lawn as it looks like it might rain later, so he wants to get it done and out of the way.
It sounds like you all have lovely weather if you can put your washing out. It was nice here yesterday and quite warm in the afternoon. Funny how the weather can change so much in just 24 hours isn't it?
Sorry to hear you might have gall bladder problems Mandy, I hope it isn't that, but if it is it's sorted soon for you.
How are you feeling today Jane, it sounded like you were in a lot of pain yesterday, hope you are feeling better today? What a worry for Jess having little Benjy go missing, I bet it felt like forever before they found him. Pleased to see he's now back with her safe and sound.
What a shame about the car Frank, they do seem to be taking a long time to take it away though. Yes dog sitting can be quite a bit to take on, wise not to bother, I don't think Ros would be to pleased if the dog ruined all her hard work in the garden.
Nice to see you again Anne I was wondering why you hadn't been on here for a while. Hope your internet stays on for you now.
Is sounds like you've been cracking on with the jobs in your garden Liz, I bet it looks much better now and will look even better once the lawn is cut. That's the problem with wet weather the one thing you can't do is cut the lawns, it makes such a difference once they're done though.
Nothing much planned for today Mel, I don't seem to want to do much lately, maybe it's because I've done so much already this year and just need a bit of time off. I do need to box up a few things that are still laying around the spare bedroom, but that's not much so shouldn't take to long to do once I'm in the mood. I want to clear the space so I can put everything out of the kitchen cupboards in there out of the way when the kitchen doors go on as we think new holes might need drilling into the carcases to accommodate the new hinges.
I rang the fella who is doing our gate and fence before and it cost me almost £2.50 for less than 30 seconds on the phone, good job I didn't use my landline to ring him. He is going to France and said he was just about to board the plane, so it could of cost me a lot more had he already been in France. I was asking him if he could give us a quote for the kitchen as we haven't got around to doing it yet and I'd like to make a start on our front garden if the weather improves, so he's going to take a look at it next week for us. It'll save us a tricky job as the kitchen is tiny with hardly any room to move about in, so we thought we'd give that job to someone else........nice aren't we lol ;-) ;-)
Going to get a cuppa now then watch the first practice run for the F1, the race is live this weekend so they televise everything. I might take another look at my family tree too, I've almost finished the family I'm on so I'm getting there, slowly.

Sunny here, so out with some washing!! Hoping to cut the little lawn later on today, not before time as it is getting very long!! What a brilliant wedding present from your parents Mel and long lasting!! OH was in the Fleet Airarm when we got married so we weren't settled for two/three years. It was nice though when we finally got our own place! I think weddings have always been something of a financial burden, as of course years ago while it cost less people earned much less, so by comparison it was always quite an expense one way or the other! We were thankful to have only had one daughter, as I think were my parents!! Must go and hang that washing and think about that lawn!!

Good morning all,
We have sunshine this morning again but it really windy too.
Eye test this afternoon at 4pm. so more expense as Frank would say.
I must take advantage of this weather and get more washing on the line but its not in the machine yet.
I have to clean the chickens out too but will wait a bit to see if the wind drops a bit as the shaving go everywhere and mostly in my face. :-S
What are you all up to today?

If it is that wil be the third person with gall bladder problems I think.
Got all my washing in and ironed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I got married mum and dad did my flat up and bought me things for the kitchen as I did'nt have a big wedding. Hubby had been married before. I had a fridge and kitchen cupboards and the flat was all ecoratd how I wanted it. Mum and dad owned the house and dad made it into two flats. I had the bottom flat as I then had the garden and the parking on the front. It was in Wanstead Park Road Ilford. Frank may know it. In fact I still own the ground the two flats stand on. The flats were sold as leases by mum and dad when we bought the bungalow in Redbridge just up the road from mum and dad.
I once saw tripe in the butchers chop window when I was little and ever since then I can't stand people rubbing there hand over a carpet or stockinged feet turning on a carpet or anything rubbing on anything rough. I just see that horrid creamy white tripe in the butchers window. When I worked at the PDSA cook would do trip for certain of the staff who wanted it. YUK YUK YUK!!!

I have never eaten Tripe either Liz. Do they stil sell it? It looks so disgusting. But Dad and Janice loved it. Saying that I don't Janice would touch it now LOL . Back in the day ,it used to be the Brides Parents that paid for the wedding. These days though things have changed . The average cost of a wedding these days is supposed to be over £20,000 . The mind boggles. I did find the receipt of our reception that my parents paid for not so long ago.I can't remember now what it was but it was in the low hundreds rather than the thousands like these days. I was thinking of the saying Something Old Something New Something Borrowed and Something Blue. . My Weding Dress is still in a box on the top of my wardrobe and has never seen the light of day since 1981.I was thinking of taking a bit of lace from it so maybe she might be able to somehow have it sewn in to her wedding dress(in the hem or somewhere like that). Just an idea .

Evening all,
What a grand day it's been ,blue sky and warm sun shine all day ,we sat out this afternoon and i could feel the sun burning my neck . I have had a pain between my shoulder blades for a few days now ,it seems to get worse the more time i spend on my feet doing things ,when i wake in the morning i'm fine and some times if i move wrong it shoots a pain between the shoulder blades , It feels like it tightens across my back and i need to give a big burp , i think i'll see how it goes over the next few days if it's no better i'll go and see the doctor .
Jane that's rotten having all that pain ,i thought the new tablets were helping ok when you first had them ,it does sound as if you need some thing stronger . Poor little Benji i bet he was scared ,Jess will be keeping an eye on him now when she walks him , she must have been really worried when he shot off like that .
That's a shame about the car Frank ,fancy having the bungalow standing empty all this time .and her fathers house too . Thats a good idea getting Ros a Trolley case for her sewing machine ,it will make it easier for her to move it about .

I've never had tripe in my life Jane!! Not something we ever had at home! We all had eat the same as my mother wouldn't have cooked separately and tbh neither would I and still don't! We gave both of ours money, and we did pay for L's wedding/reception, thankfully not M as even 23 years ago it wasn't cheap!! L's second wedding she and her hubby/his parents paid for, the reception was at their house and garden. What a lovely day it's been. We've got a lot done outside and feel better for it!!

Afternoon Everyone I have had a rotten day with my hip and back and have spent most of the day lying down. I just didnt know what to do with myself. These new tablets dont seem to be having much or any affect . I think I will have ot make an appointment with my GP . I know I am on a very low dose so it may have ot go up ,but then there will likely be side effects. One now is tiredness.I could have slept all afternoon but made myself stay awake (other than a few minutes of nodding off).
Frank, I can't believe that car hasn't been picked up yet after all this time !!. Plus why is the daughter not doing anything with the bungalow or her Fathers house? It seems crazy to me. I agree maybe it is best not to offer to have the dog on a regular basis. But it cant be good for it to be left barking all the time . Poor thing, and poor you having to hear it :-S
Hannah and Gareth will be marrying in London. It makes me feel a little sad really as Hannah always used to say when she was younger she wanted to be maried in Cranford Church. But I think as nearly all their friends live in London and work colleagues too this will be one reason why they have decided to do this. The other thing is that as Gareth has been married before I woudnt be sure that our Vicar would Marry them,a.though I know the rules have been relaxed somewhat for a divorced person to Marry in Church. I know very little about Gareths marriage other than he married a girl he met when at Uni ,but she was unfaithful (more than once) so he ended it.I have never asked any questions as I feel it is not my business ,even though `I am desperate to know all the details LOL .They don't feel they want to spend a fortune on a'blow out ' Wedding as saving for a deposit for a house is more important. We will be giving them a nice healthy Cheque to help either with the Wedding or if they prefer towards a deposit. I just want Hannah to have the perfect day :-D
Chris has been in the garden all day. I haven't really seen him other than just to hear him call up the stairs to see if I was still alive :-D. Thomas too has been out all day.I have spotted him a couple of times mooching around.Once in next doors front garden. I hate him out the front just incase he decides to go out onto the road.
Jess's Benjy went missing yesterday. He was scared by another dog when she was walking him in some wood and he scarpered. You can just imagine her panic. She messaged friends from uni who came out in force to join in the hunt, and thankfully after a few hours one of them found Benjy hiding under a car near a very busy road.So all ended well there thank heavens. I have got dinner in the slow cooker ,but have decided that will be for tomorrow now. James is going down to Jess tomorrow night so if he is late in from work it can just be heated up,plus it is not too heavy a meal as he can't drive with a heavy meal inside him. Tonight he can have a Curry and Chris and i will have Meatballs and Spaghetti .
Thining back to Thursday Teatime when I was a girl. It could have been Mince and Mash for me and Dad and Tripe for Janice and Mum . Yum Yum for the Mince but Yuck for the Tripe :-D

Well I did a silly thing this afternoon. I RANG he daughter of the lady that passed away before Christmas. The car is a rental, through the government scheme for Motorbility customers. So is not for sale, just sitting there waiting to be collected. She went into chapter and verse about her mothers illness and cause of death. FORTY-FIVE MINUTES later I was able to get off the phone. That will teach me for trying to get a bargain.
Thanks Liz and Mel. It never crossed my mind to think of the responsibility of looking after someones dog, while they are a work. Taking in what you both said, I won't even mention my thoughts to Ros.
What an absolutely beautiful day. I have the conservatory door open, and the lounge windows. A nice breeze is coming through as I sit here. Ros came back from Stitchery Do and went straight down to the greenhouse. She is potting on some Tomato plants, and other things she bought on Tuesday. I have cleared the Mint in the Belfast sink, and planted FIVE new plants. I have fed and watered them in. She is also going to plant the Runner beans in pots, to get them going.
Jonathan wants to borrow the rotavator, and has said he will do my little bit of veg patch as well. So that will be ready for planting out, when we are ready.
Ros is saying that her sewing machine is getting to heavy for her to carry into the workshop/Scouts hut. and the Chapel rooms. So I am looking at getting a trolley with wheels, so she can put the machine on that, and pull it along.
Harvey has just rung, he is on his way up to put a new ash- felt roof on the shed. It got a lot blown off in the last winds. He will also fit the new fence panel between Denis and us. If he has got time he will do some other jobs, that I can't do. Which the way I feel at present is EVERYTHING. ;-) ;-) ;-) I must ring the gardening chap to see when he can fit us in for a couple of hours every two/three weeks. He can cut the lawns, and help Ros in the garden. (she can tell him what she wants doing) thats her domain !!!
Harvey has just arrived, so I had better go a get him a coffee.

Yes Frank thnk again cos if its a dog Ros won't have much border left after a while. When we had our Alsatian when I was young he would start at the begining of mums border and work his way along so all dead plants in the front. Another reason why we have all had bitches since then.
II hope there is no leaks in the empty bungalow if nobody has been in it for a while after all that snow and bad weather we've all had.
I hav'nt gone out yet as you can see as the fish shop dos'nt open again till 4.30pm so I shall get ready now and have a look around the shops before coming home with the dinner.

Well, I've spent most of the morning in the garden as it's been lovely here! OH has been making a cage for the sweet peas, and repairing the three he made last year for the runners. I've been weeding and sweeping up the debris left from the rain - looks much tidier now! Be a bit careful offering to dog sit Frank! Now and again is fine, but everyday could get a bit much particularly if it's young and a tad lively!! Off in for some lunch now. I certainly feel better for being out!!

Afternoon all
Lovely and sunny here today but still a bit on the cold side, so no gardening today for me Frank ;-)
I see you have the funeral date now, let's hope Simon can book the day off work so he can take you.
So Hannah is getting married in December Jane, how lovely, a winter wedding. I got married in January and we had a few flakes of snow, it was lovely as it wasn't to much so I didn't have to walk through it in my dress. Sorry to hear about your sister's family problems, I hope everything turns out okay for everyone. Yes researching my tree is stopping me doing to many heavy jobs. My back is still a bit sore so resting it will help.
Your poor girl Mel, how old was she? At least she had a lovely life with you.
Hope everything goes okay for your OH and for you on the 13th Liz. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you both.
I've had another go at my family tree this morning and seem to be getting on better now. I've added lots more people and had some help off another Genes member yesterday, which was great. I now know why the daughter had a married name mentioned on the 1939 register, when she didn't actually marry until 1945. It was an update and not the original surname, which of course would of been her maiden name. That was my something new learnt yesterday ;-)

Well here is one KNACKERED little boy !!!
I have done the front lounge window. The porch and front door. The two kitchen windows and the bathroom window. I've wiped all the plastic surrounds and the sills.I couldn't reach the gutters. They need a good clean out anyway, that's a job for another day. !!!
Mel, I forgot about where you get the girls from. You have said before. The price is very good too. It's nice to know you do your bit for keeping some alive. Do they continue to lay, and for how long. ??
Even though it's nice to be in the fresh air. It's nicer still to get back indoors in some warmth. That wind has still got a nasty bite to it.
Have just taken TWO more books round to Tony. So I will be starting another today.
Lynn, the woman who had "NORMAN" the Labradoodle. Has got herself another dog. Poor Norman died from Cancer a few weeks ago. The new dog is left alone most of the day, and today it has been constantly BARKING. I think if it continues, I will need to have words with her. I's not fair on us the neighbours, and not good for the dog also. I suppose I could offer to DOG SIT, as I don't go out, and would be company for each other. I will see what Ros has to say first.
The neighbour who passed away before Christmas. The daughter hasn't been over once. Her car which is a 65 plate sits on the drive. I think as it's an Automatic, I might ring her to see what she is going to do with it, and make her a silly offer. She doesn't need the car or even the money, as she still has her Dads house untouched since his death a few years go. Pam next door is concerned that the bungalow will go to rack and ruin, and as she is attached to her bungalow, she might get trouble from mice ec.
Time for a coffee, and see what we are having for dinner tonight. I did get a loin of pro out of the freezer yesterday, so I cn make something around that.
Gill I hope you are not working in the garden, if you are t's smacked legs for you also. lol lo.
