Good evening all
It sounds as everyone had a good Mother's day.
I'm pleased for you Jane that Hannah had a good birthday and you all enjoyed the meal it did sound lovely and some beautiful flowers to take home as well.
Gill how sweet of Sandra to make you a card so much better when it's home made and flowers and sweeties as well and how nice having a meal cooked for you,
That was good that Cas and you enjoyed yesterday and you had daffodils from her as well Liz. Good luck with Cas's check up tomorrow does she mind going to the vets?
Frank I hope you all enjoyed your meal and I expect you had a good chat with the family.
Mandy good to have the family visit and some lovely pressies as well
For mother's day Paul gave me a lovely bouquet of flowers with a tag saying they were from a woodland walk but there a lot of Roses in it, Richard is getting me the 2nd Paddington Bear film tomorrow, plus I had 3 Mothers day cards.
We also had roast lamb the two girls were there a usual but had a fall out before they arrived because Abbie hadn't bought her Mother a card even when Paul offered to get one for her. Beckie had given Sue a card and some bath time treats. They were getting along OK when we were eating and when they left they were best friends again, thank goodness

Evening all,
Been cloudy here but dry most of the day ,when i went out a while ago i could see a few spots of rain on the patio . Family came this morning ,son and DIL bought me some chocolates ,silk flowers in a vase and a nice little sewing kit .
That was a nice surprise with Conrad and Jan turning up Frank ,i hope you've enjoyed your meal with them .
Your card from Sandra sounds nice Gill ,hope your tummy is better now .
Mel that was a good spend up you had in the bead shop when you only wanted the beading thread :-D Your roses have done really well ,have you had them in a cool room ?
Goodness that was an early morning call Liz, i worry that there's some thing wrong with the family when the phone rings so early ,i suppose it's after having so many calls in the night when my mum was poorly .
Sounds as if you had a lovely meal today with the family Jane and came away all full up :-D
Call the Mid Wife tonight i hope it's not as sad as last weeks , next week a new lot of The Durrells is on and New good Karma Hospital too .

Afternoon Everyone Just back from Hannahs. We got there at midday and had a coffee at the flat while Hannah opened all her presents. She loved everything except for one top so she will change that for something different . She had a lovely bouquet of mixed Roses from her and James for Mothers day. They are really pretty and are now in a vase on the windowsill. The journey there and back was the best we have had for ages with not one hold up !!!. Lunch was booked for 1pm and we all went for the Roast Chicken as bith H&G have had it before and said it was just the best. It was too.But oh my goodness were we full up .Gareth and I had Garlic Mushrooms to start and Chris had a Aubergine thing which was a bit like a soft paté and Pitta Bread.Hannah didnt have a starter. None of us could face Dessert. We are both still feeling full up so nothing more for us this evening.
I expect Frank and family are still at the restaurant having enjoyed their meal :-D
You have been treated well today Gill with having lunch cooked for you and some lovely flowers and chocolates from Sandra :-D. I hope you kept your feet up all afternoon and enjoyed the rest and watching tv.
Mel are there lots of Daffs to pick now? .Not in our garden yet. I did see quite a lot along some of the roadsides today that were in full bloom.
Liz I love Hyacinths but find the scent far too strong these days so unfortunately dont have them in the house. I bet yours are really pretty.
Well I think I shall put my feet up too now and see what is on the box this evening.

That's a real shame Mel. It's hard the way things sometimes turn out when it's the last thing any of us wants. My SIL is in the same position with her daughter who lives in Australia!!, and she doesn't see that much of her son either. Her OH doesn't see a lot of his children, for whatever reason, so it's quite sad for both of them. I think this is why they spend most of the winter in Spain, but I don't ask, so could be wrong!! It's tipping down here now, but we've had lunch, cleared up and Cas has had her final trot up the road and back!! We're taking her for her annual check up, plus her booster jab, so that's our expedition for tomorrow!!

I have hoovered the kitchen and dining area and the little loo and uti room before getting the big breakfast which is all gone now and it was lovely.
My birthday, Valentines day roses have just started to fall and the leaves have gone yellow. Not all of them and its only one rose that has fallen so far. Not bad for nearly 4 weeks.
I am now going to wash up and then back to my crafting after corning the chickens.
Glad you're being pampered today Gill. Card sounds nice Sandra made you and flowers too.
Liz more daffs from Cas, how lovely.
Think I may go out and pick myself some. Oh dos'nt keep mothers day as niether of us see our children.

We are just sitting here ready to go to the restaurant, when the door opened and in walked Conrad and Jan. Harvey said we were meeting them at the restaurant, so a nice surprise.
The table is booked for 3.00 pm. So we had better get our shoes and coat on and set off. I am starving, as I haven't eaten since a sandwich yesterday Lunchtime.
See you all later.

How annoying that must of been LIz at that time of the day, I don't blame your OH for his choice words. How lovely of your OH to bring you some daffs off Cas, he sounds very thoughtful and kind.
I had a bit of a jippy tummy this morning so I hope I'm going to be okay this afternoon as I've just eaten a lovely roast lamb meal OH and Sandra made. I did take something for my tummy earlier so hopefully I'll be okay.
Going to settle down for the afternoon now. I didn't watch Gardener's world in the end as Sandra wanted to watch something else. We're just about to watch 60 minute makeover now, I have quite a few of them on the planner. OH reminded me before it's only two weeks to the F1 starting. I can't wait ;-)

That was early for a phone call Liz, I assume who ever it was didn't realise the time difference or forgot. You must of thought the worse at 6.05 in the morning. I can imagine what your OH said. Pleased to hear you had a lovely afternoon and Cas had a good time with her pals. We're having roast lamb, it's my favourite and makes a nice change from chicken.
What's that saying Frank "SNOOZE YOU LOSE" you should of been quicker then Ros wouldn't of jumped in before you had your shave ;-) I find fizzy pop is good for getting rid of hic cups you only need a couple of mouth full. Water never works for Sandra and I. Pleased to hear you had a good nights sleep, I noticed you had a few bad ones on the run so you were probably due for a good one. At least you won't feel shattered when you go out for lunch.
I see you bought your black beading thread Mel. What are you making this time? I love to see all the pictures you send, you're very clever. It was nice of OH to let you lie in, but I know what you mean, playing catch up all day. Hope you get through everything you had planned.
I don't think I'll be doing the pictures today, I fancy relaxing for a day with being so busy lately. I have put the lamp and plant in the living room so that's done and OH cleaned the living room window which looks much better, I'll probably clean the inside tomorrow.
I got some lovely flowers off Sandra for Mother's Day and a box of chocolate and a bag of marshmallow's, so I'm set up for the afternoon lol. She made me a lovely card with pink roses and daffodils on. I might see if there is a good film on the TV. I recorded Gardeners World, so I'll watch that now while lunch is cooking. OH and Sandra are cooking, so I'm feeling quite pampered today . :-) :-)

We were woken at 6.05 this morning by the telephone ringing!! It was an 'international call'!! I won't repeat what OH said!! We had a lovely afternoon yesterday! We met up with some friends, and a good time was had. Cas met up with a couple of her shooting pals, one of which is exactly like her, a carbon copy! so she was happy!! M gave me a basket of Hyacinths for mothers day! It was very sweet of him, but I think his partner was responsible for seeing to them!!! I don t expect anything from L (she may ring!) as we don't usually 'do' mothers day once children are grown up. Like everything, it's become so commercialised, ( who gets the biggest, the best, the most expensive etc) that the significance has been rather lost which is a pity. Today we are just pickling about! Pork for lunch, roast pots, and curly kale from the garden.

Morning all,
Not a very nice mothers day here as there is no sunshine but grey clouds. Whatever you are doing I hope all the mothers enjoy your day. Oh let me sleep in this morning so I am trying to catch up now and shall be all day.
Yesterday I went to the local bead shop as I needed a few things. I got side tracked and only got one thing I went for but that was vital as I could'nt find my black beading thread. Needless to say I came out £23 lighter. Then had the job of sorting it all out when I got home. Its takes such a long time. Then I did a bit of craft but first I had to undo what I had done as I bought something better to go on it and had to work out a new pattern.
Hope Jane and Chirs have a safe journey to Hannah's and that Hannah likes her birthday presents. I am sure she will. Happy Birthday Hannah. <3

Good morning Gill and All,
Yes HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all the mums.
Nice morning here, sun was out first thing, but clouded over a bit now, and the wind/breeze is getting up.
I had my shower and came and sat down for a few minutes rest before shaving, and low and behold Ros has jumped in there, so I have to wait for my shave.
Had another good nigh after I had to come out into the lounge for a while with HIC CUPS. I sat a sipped a glass of water and they went away. So straight back to bed and slept until 7.30..
Have not eaten this morning, as I don't know what time the table is booked for. I don't want to spoil my lunch.
I hope you enjoy your Mothers Day whatever you might have planned. xx

Morning all
Sunny here today and not so cold as it has been lately. Now spring is here the weather should improve day by day.......well, I hope so anyway.
Only got the error page once today, then Genes let me see the last page...Yipee, it's been ages since I've been able to read the posts, so I'm going to catch up with some of them now, while I can.
Thanks everyone for your kind words about BIL. I will pass them all onto OH.
OH has just cleaned the outside of the living room window so I'll do the inside later. He's going to put a tall lamp in the living room so I can stand the new plant I bought a month ago in front of it, then if I feel like it later I'll cut up some of the coloured wallpaper I put up and make some pictures as the other three walls look bare with nothing on them. The living room will be finished then apart from the floor covering which we haven't got round to doing yet. I put the wallpaper into a box and sealed it then put it in the spare room, not realising till last night I needed a bit of the paper to make the pictures. I had visions of me either having to leave the picture making or empty the room to try and find the box, but luckily OH spotted it on it's own down the side of all the other boxes so we can get to it and I can make the pictures now.......talk about lucky.
I'm trying to catch up with all the posts, I've missed so many I've lost track of what's going on.
Thanks Mandy for mentioning it could be condensation in our loft, I didn't think of that, but like you and Mel said with the lagging we had put up there the loft is a lot colder now. We've got the roofer who did next door and next door but one coming around on Wednesday so he'll let us know if it's the roof, or it could be like Jane said the snow being blown under the tiles. It was very windy. At least there is some plastic down for now, so hopefully if it is the roof the rain will be caught in the plastic then OH can sponge it up until the problem can be fixed.
Have a lovely time in London with Hannah Jane. Is HAT going with you LOL ;-) ;-) :-D :-D Happy belated birthday wishes to Hannah.
So Ros bought herself a large Easter egg off you Frank, will she leave it alone until Easter? We bought three small Easter eggs a while back and still have them. Aren't we good not eating them already ;-)
Sorry to hear about your niece Anne, 52 is such a young age too.
Did Cas enjoy her time at the point to point Liz
Sandra's just woke up and has a card and presents for me, so I'd better go.
Happy Mother's Day to all the mum's on the thread <3

"Evening all,"(Dixon of Dock Green) smashing programme to watch Saturday evenings.
Went to the pub at lunchtime to watch the match, wrong move. I sat with "PADDY" who is a staunch MAN UTD supporter. All he did the whole time I was there was SHOUT at the T.V. Screen. It got to the stage where I couldn't stand it anymore, and came home.
It had rain in the air as I walk there and back, but not enough to make it uncomfortable
Roa didn't go shopping today as we did it yesterday (keep up JANE) lol. She did a nice prawn sandwich for lunch, and I had a bag of Cashew nuts, which I really enjoyed.
I expect you know why I am on here. BLOOMING ANT AND DEC on the T .V. I just haven't got time for their stupid humour. (I must be getting old). When hat finishes I will find something on SKY to watch before going to bed and the radio.
Kerry's husband Mark, drove over this evening with Jan's Mothers Day present and card. It must be over 20 miles each way. He said he has been up since 4.30 am with Alexander. Kerry has a cold, and didn't surface until 11.30 am. They had a 3 year olds birthday o go to this afternoon, so he is knackered to say the least.
Hope your afternoon went alright Liz, did Cas enjoy herself. ??
Gill, So sorry to hear that your BIL is not well again. Tell Glynn that I am thinking of him and the family.xx
It's SIXTY YEARS ago next Saturdy since I went in for my National Service. The worst time I can remember. SIX WEEKS after my Fathers death. I was not in the right place to serve my Queen and Country.
I haven't eaten this evening, Ros wanted Fish Cakes, Pineapple fritters, Chips and Mushy peas. So she drove me to Towcester to get them. They were queuing out of the door. Some of the orders were in excess of £30.00. How people can afford that for Saturday tea, I will never know. Looking at some of them, they hardly had two pennies to rub together. But I expect they have their 55 inch T.V. and SKY and live far better than me.I suppose WE (YOU AND ME) pay their benefits every week, from our tax's. Sorry but it makes my blood boil. !!! I bought up a family , like we all did on far less than the cost of a fish and chip supper.
Only another half hour, then I can go and sit in my armchair and WATCH something worth while.
Hope you have a safe journey tomorrow Jane, and the all you Mums have a nice lazy and spoilt day. God Bless all MOTHERS xxx

Evening all,
It's been a really mild day here we just had a few spits of rain at lunch time ,like you Jane i went to Tesco this morning as DIL told me the Large Chickens were £2-25 instead of £4-50 so off i went, well it was just like christmas ,plenty of parking spaces but you couldn't get to them with all the cars trying to get off the car park ,what doesn't help is if the trains are running it makes the traffic build up while they cross the road , plenty of chickens so i got two for us and two for DIL ,the young girl on the till said that some one came up to the till with twelve chickens !!!!
Gill i'm so sorry to hear about your BIL ,such a worry for you all , i hope they can ease his pain and make him comfortable so he can perhaps have his scan .
Oh Anne i read about that little dog too ,did you see the picture of him laying on his blanket near the hospital door it brought tears to my eyes and i just had gave Max a good hug .
So your homeless man didn't look so good today then Jane ,i wonder if he managed to get in some where when the snow came . Have a lovely time tomorrow ,what time do you leave in the morning ? Oh yes James Martin ,i love him too :-D :-D
I'm going to Google Edith's House now

Gill, I am sorry to hear that your BIL is too ill to have had the brain scan and that he has been in so much pain. The fact now that the Macmillan Nurses are going in daily sounds like he may not be up to having anymore Chemo and wil be cared for at home. From what you are saying it is not sounding to good and I am so sorry :-(
Glad to hear though that the rubbish didn't come back over the fence to you :-D I have trouble just getting onto GR not just the thread .I keep getting the error message when I post. But I just a click back on the back arrow and click back again and it is fine(does that make sense? ) I know what I mean LOL It just sounds all a bit gobbledygook :-S I love that word :-D :-D

I can't seem to get to the last page, I keep getting the error page, so I'll try again later. I even tried updating Java and going on Google but nothing seems to work. I have reported it to Genes, but I doubt it'll make any difference.
I hope everyone else can get on. I'm having to post from the first page so I've not been able to read any posts.
The loft is now empty and OH has put lots of plastic down to catch any rain that's coming in so just the hoovering and polishing to do then I'm having a bath and getting something to eat. I haven't eaten all day and I'm starving.
I did have something good happen today, I went to check if the rubbish we chucked back over the fence at the back was still there and they hadn't chucked it back over to us and it looks like they have finally cleared away their own rubbish. So I'm really chuffed.
OH's brother didn't have his brain scan in the end as he is to ill, he had to have the doctor out to him at home. He's in a lot of pain so the doctor has given him some stronger pain killers. Not sure when he's having his scan now, or if the doctor will put him on morphine soon. The Macmillan Nurses are going to his everyday now.
Well, I'd better go and do the cleaning. I hope I can get back on here at some point and the error page stops happening, I've been trying for a while now and only managed to get to the last page once :-(
Do you think the thread is to big now as I seem to be able to get onto the smaller ones without any trouble at all? Just a thought.
