Good afternoon all
Sorry to hear you had another bad night Frank, have you got a spare bedroom that you could use now and again and once you know Ros is home safely you could go to bed without any disturbance. We had twin beds put together as Peter suffered from restless legs which to me was much worse than snoring, when we went to our static caravan we had separate rooms Unless we had family staying. Nothing worse then having no sleep more often then not. I find taking 3 Quiet Life tablets really helps me sleep.
One of my many nieces has given up her job as a Strangeways Prison officer as she was finding it too much to handle as this was her first job in the service it seem a bit harsh starting her off there. Her elder sister with Downs has just been confirmed as suffering from Alzheimers she is only 52 the same age as Richard, they had suspected it but it has now been confirmed.
Bo my eldest SIL has now seen the last of the snow at one point she couldn't get out of her front door and people had to walk in the middle of the road as it wasn't clear where the pavements ended, as she lives in Leominster which is very close to the Welsh border it wasn't surprising..
Ruby has only just finished eating her chicken the reason she has finished it was she saw the sheep dogs on television and thought they were after her food she has done this before when other dog shows have been on.

You were not first on again Frank as my post is on the other page. Raspberry :-P.
Sorry you once again had a bad night. Do you think you sort of wait for Ros and then work yourself up so you can't sleep? Hope you have a nice time having your hair cut.
Not getting on very well this morning but must press on as I want to make some soup for lunch.

First on and it's after 11.00 am. Good morning to you all,
Jane I can understand your concern regarding the little Bu@@@r bringing in his dinner, to eat in the warm. LOL My old friend use to bring mice in and leave them under the dining room table. Sometimes there was a blood mark on the carpet, but not often.
No Anne, I don't eat Chocolate very often, so she will enjoy in on her own over a few days.
Another disastrous night last night. Ros came back from Choir practise and a coffee at Vals. around 10.30 pm I knew she would want o watch her SOAPS, so I went to bed. Still awake at 12.30. Came out and said "ARE YOU COMING TO BED TONIGH" Yes I am just coming. I laid again until 2.30 am and decided to get up. Sat and had two big Breakfast cups of tea, with a box of biscuits. Finally gave up and went back to bed at 5.00 am. I slept until 8.30. Got up, and feel an absolute wreck.
We are going shopping, well Ros is. I will get my haircut, then sit in Tesco until she comes out. Then it will be home for lunch, and a rest in he armchair. I try not to sleep during the day, but wonder if a cat nap might do me good.
I see that parts of the Country could expect 4 inches of SNOW over the weekend. I just hope it stays up NORTH. !! Sorry Gill xxx

Morning all,
Its not so nice here weatherwise this morning. There is grey skies and plenty of clouds around so I don't think its going to brighten up anywhere in the near future. It makes you feel so miserable when its like this. Dos'nt give you any "get up and go". I don'y get inspired to even do housework.
I seem to be in an awful mess so I think a bit of a tidy up is in order for the day. Put some things away and have a hoover. The place always looks better for a hoover.

Gill, Colin thinks it might be condensation in the roof ,because you have insulation in the roof it's stopping the heat from going up in the roof ,if it is that you'll need to put some vents in the roof to let air in .

Gill you may just need some tiles replaced. Get the roofer to take a good look and he should know what the problem is. With the winds we have had recently it could just be that some snow blew in and has thawed now and caused the water. Did'nt you have the roof lagged last year? it may be just that it is now colder up there with the weather we have had ver hte last week or so.

Good evening all
A lot colder today and quite windy.
Oh Gill how upsetting about the roof, I hope it's not as bad as you think.
We had stir fry tonight, nice and easy and as Sainsbury delivered this morning so everything nice and fresh,
I was watching Crufts this evening , it must be nice seeing it at the show like Janice and Larry, I hope they have a good time.
Liz we used to pass through Cranlieigh when we visited relatives in Horsham , I remember seeing a group of small business's there. I didn't see the Lucy Worsley programme, I hadn't noticed it was on. I always enjoy anything she does.
Mel that was clever the way you copied the felt hare looking at the moon.I loved the little purse you made as well.
Frank will Ros share the Easter egg with you when she gets to eat it? I hope you have a good nights sleep tonight and everyone else as well

OH's just told me the roof is leaking in a few places, so it looks like we'll need a new roof after all, he only noticed when he brought the empty cardboard boxes down and they were soaking wet. He also said it could be six weeks before anyone can do it. I dread to think what damage will be done in that time if the marks in the hall have appeared in just over a week........Not a happy bunny today :-( :-( He's going to put some of the empty boxes back in the loft to soak up the water until the roof can be replaced. He's worried the rain and snow might interfere with the electrics otherwise.

After having the snow today and there was lots of it looking lovely, I took some photo's, I wish I knew how to send them to you all. I can't believe that OH cut our lawns yesterday, the weather was like a summer's day. He was going to go to his friend's, the one who lost his partner last year, and do a bit of gardening for him today, but the snow put paid to that. If it dries up again he might go and help him on Saturday.
We think it might be the lead flashing Jane as the marks on the ceiling are going off on an angle. OH went and had a look outside and the marks match the way the lead flashing goes. I don't know how much that would cost to fix though, so OH is going to go to our neighbour tomorrow as his friend is a roofer, to see if he might be able to take a look at it and also at the side of the bungalow as there is a small mark on Sandra's bedroom ceiling too.
We're still emptying the loft but should be finished soon, then we've decided to go to the chippy as we're to dirty and tired to cook. I was very surprised how little there was in the loft compared to how much we did have in there. I'm so glad I put the things I sorted and boxed up in the spare wardrobes as there definitely wouldn't of been enough space in the spare room to put it all otherwise. I'm glad when sorting all our stuff, we threw a lot of it away or gave it to charity shops.
Oh, here we go again, OH is waiting for me to help him put some more stuff in the spare room. I'm trying to catch up with the thread and my emails and have to keep stopping every few minutes, but like I said it should all be done soon. We have lots of empty boxes in the loft so they're being taking out now, then it's just some suitcases and a king size bed (flat pack), although we may just move them to the back of the loft as the leak seems to be in the front and side.
I've just heard on the news there is another 4 inches of snow on it's way. I hope it's not here, I'm fed up of it now.
Well, I'd better go he's waiting for me. I'll do my best to catch up with the post as soon as I can, although it might not be all of them ;-)

I must make an appointment to have my eyes tested. They say every two years but I must admit it is 4 years since I had mine done.
I hav'nt heard of this chalk paint either. I shall have to have a look online to see what its like.
I still hav'nt seen if my paper came in the hsop and have been up the village twice! What am I like. I can't seem to remember anything lately. Many senior moments......
Gammon steaks for us tonight with bubble and squeak and beans probably.
I dudted the plate rack in the hall today and knocked off my little Jemima Puddle Duck and broke her head off at the bottom of her neck. I tried to stick it back together with super glue but do you think it would stick? It nearly stuck my finger to her neck but that was all. It will be bostic next try. I was so cross as I have had her for years.
O its nearly dark I must shut the chickens in.

Afternoon All Brrrrrrr! It's really chilly. It feels much colder now than it did this morning. I decided to light the fire about 3 . At least we aren't having to leave the heating on at night now. We didnt have any snow today but it was a little sleety a few times. Chris took the Lawnmower over to Brigstock for the annual service and he said there were quite a few banks of snow still along the back roads.
Frank will Ros be able to hang on to her egg until Easter? If i had one looking at me for a long time I would be too tempted LOL I just nipped out to get my prescription and popped in to M&S this morning. I bought a long thin light grey cardi which is very nice but it just doesnt seem to look right with all the clothes I tried on with it so that will be going back tomorrow.I think the colour was probably too light. I have never heard of Chalk Paint !!Is this a new kind of paint? I was looking at all our paint work earlier and some of it looks really mucky :-S
Mel I loved your Hare staring at the moon. I cant believe that one in the magazine was £8.95 !! I dont think I would pay that . I do think though that you could do really well with all your craftwork at craft /Xmas fair and not charge anywhere near as much .
Frank I would love to have a cat flap for Thomas. But the reason we havent had one put in the back door is because of him bringing back his 'catch' all the time and dragging bunnies in(which is what he would do. I would certainly save me having to keep getting up to let him out though. The only cat flap we have is in the Summerhouse. So I do know if the weather is bad and we are not here he can get in there.I always keep water and a little dish of dried cat food out there. On Sunday when we go to London I shall put his wet food there as well. When we had the bad snow and freezing temperatures I put the oil radiator on too for him. Spoilt cat or what !!
Oh Gill, what a job you now have on your hands with geting everything back out of the loft!!!!! You have only just got everything up there too :-(. I hope that you can find out where water is coming from and that it will be an easy and cheap fix. So the lady next door is coming home. I hope she will be safe .But it will probably be just a matter of time before she has an other fall You really don't need your Mum's friend to rent the bungalow !!! Your stress level will go sky high.
Chris has been out for lunch today with his ex work friend Sue. So he wont need feeding tonight. Curry for James and Macaroni Cheese for me.
Mel I wonder once the hens get used to seing the litter tray they might start to get in it and have a nice sand bath :-D. I have ordered cat litter on line as the one I always have had had been discontinued at Tesco and no where else sells it. It is a site called Pet Planet. I dont get through much as Thomas only uses his tray when desperate.
Janice and Lary are going to Crufts tomorrow. It is the highlight of the year for them. They just love it and have been going there for years now.
My next appointment came through today for the Rheumatologist in September. That was quick. But we are away in France then so I will have to ring tomorrow and make another date.I also need to make an appointment with Specsaver as i had a reminder to say it has been a year and I need to go again.
Did you remember your list Liz and get a nice pudding? It is nice that M is near enough to come for a nice meal with you both.
Log needed on the fire.

All our snow has gone now. I love the pics you sent Mel, I think the one you made is better than the one in the magazine.
Well, we didn't go to the shops in the end. I noticed a couple of water marks on our hall ceiling, the one OH painted last week, so it looks like we might have a leak somewhere, so instead of shopping we are now emptying the loft so we can check all the pipes, if it's not that then it'll be the roof, either way for the problem to be fixed the loft needs to be emptied.
Good news for the lady next door, she's coming home now as she didn't want to go into a nursing home. I'm quite pleased as my mum had her eye on next door as a potential place for her friend to rent. Can you imagine that, having mum around everyday......it would of driven me mad.
I still haven't had a chance to catch up with the posts as I'm busy helping OH put everything out of the loft into the spare room. It took me all morning to take the bed down and clear some floor space in there to put everything.
Well, I'd better go OH is waiting again for me. He can only take a few bits down at a time as we have all the kitchen doors and drawers in the room the loft opening is in, so as he's taking things down I'm putting them in the other room.
I've replied to your email Liz

Afternoon all,
Rainy day here ,we even had a little snow mixed in with it ,the sun has tried to shine at times ,Colin has tried to pressure wash the slabs but has got rained off.
Frank ,we didn't like that Chalk paint it had such a dull finish and we found it chipped easily , we used the Wilko Quick Dry Satin Furniture and Cupboard Paint ,not to shiny a finish and it doesn't chip and it's quick drying too ,Colin painted a sideboard and we have it in the conservatory it came up a treat with two coats ,we keep our shoes in the bottom cupboard to keep them out of Max's way . I think he still has plenty left in the tin so it goes a good way .

Sorry that the bantams won't use the litter tray. Why should they ?? Surprised to hear there is snow still around down your way Mel. We had a few little piles where people had cleared their drives.
It's now SUNSHINE, but still with that horrible cold wind.
Ros has been looking at this CHALK PAINT to paint all the kitchen doors on the cupboards. The trouble is we don't know how much we will need. There are plenty of suppliers on Ebay and the prices are so various. It makes you wonder if the more you pay the better it is. or are they very much the same quality, I recon it's SUCK IT AND SEE, i'll ask Harvey's advise when he comes Sunday, to take us out for Mothers day. Roa spoke to Conrad, and they will try to get up here earlyish, so we can have a chat before the other turn up. But knowing Jan, they will be late.
Everything is ready for dinner tonight. I used one potato for chips, and threw half of it away, because it was SO LARGE. We could never eat the amount of chips it would have made. lol lol
Back to my book. See you later.

Thanks Liz, It must be nice for him to call now and again for a meal and a chat. Our best Man and maid of Honour lived in Wantage and managed the local Club. We haven't heard from them in years.
The only time we see Harvey and Julia is when we invite them up for a Sunday lunch. I know he works hard, but it would be nice to have a knock on the door and find them standing there. It doesn't seem to happen these days.
It's stopped raining, but the wind is so cold. I only went to the garage to get steaks out of the freezer, and came in shivering.
I think I will get a coffee, then get things ready for dinner tonight. Sirloin Steaks with the trimmings. Nice and easy and makes a change.

M lives in Cranleigh Surrey, Frank, but spends weekdays working about 40 miles from us. He's been running his own printing firm from a business park nr Wantage since he first started up when he was 28! (he's 53 now!) He also owns a one bedroom cottage which he and his ex wife bought as a second home when they separated. He lives there during the week. So for us its all quite convenient! Better get my list together, don't want to go out without it!!

Good morning to you all,
We have rain and wind here, so a bit different up and down the Country. !! What are we missing, We have RAIN, SNOW, SUNSHINE. all we need now is a hurricane.
Not a good night again Mel, Got settled down and the brain box got into gear. It took me back to 1942. Being evacuated to Bacup, Rochdale, in Lancashire. Horrendous memories, that come and haunt me every so often.
I got up and sat with Ros for a while. When she went to bed I continued reading my book until 3.00 am. I did sleep then until 7.00 am Ros slept in until 9.15. We have had our COTs. I don' fancy breakfast, but Ros will get herself some cereal.
Martine and Brian are going on a railway weekend on Saturday, for his birthday,so won't be seeing Ros. We will do the shopping tomorrow, while she is in Tesco, I will ge my hair cut. I has' been cut since before Christmas, so well overdue.
Enjoy your evening with M tonight Liz, what will you be cooking. ??How far does he live from you. ?
Conrad flys home tomorrow evening late. I suggested he drives up here Saturday and stays the night with Jan's daughter Kerry. That would save the driving up and back on Sunday for Mothers Day. He won't do that as it's Jan's Birthday Saturday and he has booked somewhere to take her out for the evening. I's good that neither of them drink, so they will be fit to drive early Sunday morning.
Ros got herself a LARGE Thornton's Easter Egg. It sits on the table in pride of place, lol lol
Off for my shower and back to the book, which I might well finish today. I have SEVEN more sitting under my computer desk. !!!

Gill, I have emailed you! Very windy here this morning, but bright sunshine! Dentist for OH, then Waitrose, then the surgery to change my pills. They should have given me my new ones, but dispensed the old ones by mistake!!! Tonight M is coming to supper so had better add 'pudding' to my list! We watched Lucy Worsley last night, pyrotechnics Tudor style!! I wonder if you watched it Anne? It was very interesting. Thank you for the pic of the hare Mel, it's very well done.
