Yes Mel, Paul her son sent me a photo of Mary with the flower in a vase on her lap. As I have said before I haven't seen Mary in the flesh for over FORTY YEARS. I just couldn't believe my eyes. It looked as though my Mother, and elder Sister Clara were sitting there looking at me. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Bins all out ready for tomorrow, and Ros has swept all the moss up that has come down off the roof.
Didn't put the washing out, as the lawn is sodden. So all sheets, pillow cases. dry and folded up ready to be put away. Ros has also washed our heavy dressing gowns, they are in the Tumble dryer now. with little smelly sheets. They always make the washing smell nice.
It's not as warm out as I imagined, but much better than the last few days.
Just going to have a coffee and a cream doughnut. What will it do to my figure !!!

Morning you lot of early birds,
we have brightness today. No the suns not really out but its trying but its still grey out to the north in the front.
No we did'nt have cheese and biccies last night. We hav'nt had them for a while now as it started to upset oh's tummy. I think it was the blue cheese that did it and he loves that too. I had pork cheese and pickle pies, some grapes and walnuts. Oh had scotch eggs and a pie and pasta salad.
Our oil should be delivered tomorrow as they could'nt do it before with the panic from people. I have to have the small tanker too as it has to get through the arch. The normal one will go through but they make a big faff about it. The arch into the garden was made big enough to get a fire engine through. Mum had that done while I lived here as before the one into the garden was only as big as the one through to the top garden.
There still a bit of snow about where it went into drifts but the rests gone completely. My pond still has ice on it but oh's cleared yesterday.
Frank at least the Russians sent the flowers back and it was good they kept the card and did'nt throw it away. Your sister did get it in the end bless.

Good morning my little rose buds !!!,
It's getting to be a joke getting on here in the mornings. Not once these pass few days have I been able to get straight on.
Mandy, I think thats what children were put on the earth for. TO WIND EACH OTHER UP. I had it with my one two, and with Ros's two. Lewis has' any siblings, so he winds Ros and I and his Mum and dad up. Little Bu@@er.
Well the thaw has really get in. The only snow I can see now, is where people have stacked it up when clearing their drives.
I have spoken to Paul (MARY'S SON) this morning. He got the card from the Russian yesterday, and has taken hi Mum to the florist to pick up he flowers that he Russian returned. It would appear he did'n know Mary even though she's lived there over SIXTY YEARS.
The dinner was very nice last night, almost clear plates between us.That Chicken pie sounded nice Jane. Mel always has Cheese and Bickies Sunday evening after their BIG BREAKFAST.
Spring like day out there. Bright SUN with a little breeze. Roa has changed the bedding, So that might go out and get a blow. Better than the Tumble Dryer. That lovely fresh air smell. !!!
Time for a bit of toast and another cuppa, Then my shower, and BOOK. (HARD LIFE AIN'T IT) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Morning all
I see my message did go through last night.
I'm finishing off the decorating in the living room so I might not make it back on here today.
I haven't had a chance to catch up with the posts yet so will do that later or tomorrow.
Genes seems to be playing nicely for the thread today I managed to get on here first time. Let's hope it stays that way. I tried all day yesterday but just kept getting the error page. The only thing I could do was post from the first page and that even came up as an error, so I gave up in the end.
Hope everyone is okay, be back when the decorating is finished. <3

I'll try again tomorrow, but thought I'd let you know I'm okay incase you all wondered where I was.
I hope this goes through.

Afternoon Everyone
The thaw is continuing but we still have a fair way to go .I dont think it will take too long now the temperature is up a bit.I have only just lit the fire but the heating is still on 24hrs.
Oops Frank! I wonder why the Russian neighbour accepted the flowers and kept them too !!. Surely they must have seen they werent meant for them. You wont be making that mistake again :-D Shame about your meals from Tesco last night. Were they the 'Finest' range or the normal ones? I have to say that the Finest range of meals have always gone down well here.(with no nasty after effects ;-) )
Mandy I am so sorry to hear that OH's Sister is not doing so well now. How old is she? I am not sure about infection 'breaking off' exactly, maybe that was a simple way for the doctor to explain how the infection has spread in your Nephew. Hopefully the right antibiotics will soon sort things for him and he will be back on the road to recovery very soon.
Oh Bless little Lewis , being wound up by his big Sister LOL I wonder what she was doing . He has obviously picked the expression up from one of them :-D :-D. I expect there might be a fair bit of winding up between the children :-D :-D
I am doing Chicken Pie for tonight. It has Leeks and Mushrooms and I have added Asparagus too.Its the Pie I do with the Filo Pastry topping. Tarragon Carrots and Broccoli to go with it. I think I know where Thomas is spending so much time out. Chris ssid he saw lots of Rabbits hopping around the bottom of next doors garden this morning :-S :-S I haven't seen the RAT today :-D. That's not to say it hasn't been around though.
I must go to the surgery tomorrow and hand in this prescription for the new tablets. I am really not keen on taking any more different meds but Chris says I must ...so better do what the Doctor tells me :-D It is called Gabapentin .
Mel what will you have for tea tonight after having you Big Breakfast? I think the fire looks like it might be out !!! I may have to chuck a fire lighter or two in to get it going properly again.

Soup does too Mandy. I have never heard of an infection breaking away and coming out somewhere else. I hope the antibiotics deal with it once and for all.
Well the sun keeps going in now and then out again so there must be clouds in the sky. Itsa all grey out the front. The ice on oh's big pond is going around in circles now with the flow from the filter.
Had our BB and now full up till tea time.
Frank you will know not to have those dinners again. Hope your tummy has settled down now so you can enjoy your roast pork.

Afternoon all,
Suns been out here too but has gone now and there's more cloud about ,we should be getting rain later ,when we got up this morning the icicles had all gone on the church guttering so the temp must have been up in the night and it is no where near as cold as it was ,all that snow and the little snow drops are sill flowering and bobbing their little heads
Oh Frank some ones had some nice surprise flowers , perhaps when they read the card they might know they are for your sister and take them round, if they know her name . Oh dear so Tesco's Indian and Chinese doesn't agree with you ,i hope the tummy's better so you can enjoy the roast pork .
Family came this morning now the roads are better ,little Lewis came in with great big tears in his eyes ,i said what ever is wrong and he said Chelea's been winding me up :-D i had to smile bless him .
Colin's sister is very poorly again she had infection in her tummy where they operated but she's been to weak for them to operate again now she has a bladder infection ,her son said it's not looking good for her .
Neil my nephew is still in hospital he's about half way through his antibiotics ,they have found that the pain he had in his shoulder and neck was a piece of the infection that had broken away from his heart and had gone into his vertebrae, so they are hoping that the antibotics he's having for the heart will treat that too .
Lazy afternoon planned here ,there is stew left from yesterday so i've just done lots of veg to have with it ,i always think stew takes so much better the next day .

Good morning fair maidens,
Nice to see you all have survived this horrible wether. Water back on and showers working. We have been so lucky in that respect. Jonathan said his Condensing Boiler froze at the outlet. Which a lot of people have complained about.
Looking out the back garden, there is hardly any snow left on the lawn, and the sun is out !!! So I think we are in for the thaw. Now watch out for the floods.
We did a silly thing yesterday. We bought a Chinese and Indian Takeaway from Tesco. NEVER, NEVER AGAIN. Ros took one mouthful of her Beef in Black bean and threw it in the bin. I ate a bit more of my Indian but that followed soon after. This morning it's been going through me like a DOSE OF SALTS. Sorry. !!!
Nice joint of Leg of Pork for today. I have done all the Veg. Just the pudding and Cheese sauce to make.
What a total idiot I am. I have sent the Card and Flowers to the wrong address. I put 42 on the order and card, whereas Mary lives at 41. The trouble is the person who lives at 42 is a RUSSIAN and doesn't speak English. I just hope she gets things sorted over the weekend/Monday. I have altered her address in my book. !!!!
All showered and dressed. Now I can sit a start to read my last book.

Much better day here, quite mild compared to how it has been!! Caught up with washing had two showers, change the bed and generally got back to normal!! Merlins water bowl in his stable is now running freely again, and he is out in the field, so he's happy!! OH is cleaning the yard which had got a bit neglected during the crisis. Roast chicken for lunch, so hopefully a peaceful day!!

Morning all,
It rained here yesterday evening that fine stuff. This morning there is'nt muh snow left at all, just a few parches where it had srifted. Skies a bit dull and grey. Where's our lovely sunshine we had the other week.
I had a job getting on here again this morning going back and forth to the Error Page.
Its certainly not so cold here as it had been so I hope it stays that way.

Love the photo's everyone has sent. Pleased to see you have your water back Liz and your pipe is fixed now too Mel. You had a lot of snow Mel, we didn't have much, just a light covering. It was a bit thicker by the back door where the wind had blown it into a drift. It's all thawing now so I imagine it will be gone by tomorrow, it feels a bit warmer now the wind has gone, even if it's still cold out there.
How awful of that man knocking you Frank, I hope you're okay. That wasn't nice of Tony to buy food for himself and not offer to pick you some food up while he was there. OH went to the shop before to pick up some bread and milk and the woman working there said they hadn't had a delivery for 3 days, so the delivery today was the first one in ages, she said everyone was panic buying and because OH bought 3 loaves of bread she said he was doing the same. He said he was buying 3 so he could put 2 in the freezer to save him having to go out again in the cold weather.....cheeky woman.
I don't blame your sister for not going to London Jane, I don't suppose the run will be on with the weather being so bad. I noticed online that a lot of events have been cancelled due to bad weather. It must be nice to have your showers back. I hope you haven't seen the rat again, maybe Thomas will find it for his dinner. Let's hope if he does, he doesn't bring it into the house.
I thought this bug had finally gone but my throat is still a bit sore. Hopefully it'll go completely soon as I'm getting fed up of it now. If I feel up to it I'll finish the wallpapering on Monday and put the mirror and ornaments back. I'm hoping to make some new pictures using the cream and red wallpaper so I can add a bit of colour on the other walls, unless I can find some nice red pictures in the shops instead. I like a bit of red in a room as it makes it feel warmer. The other three walls have been wallpapered in a plain stone colour so they need a bit of colour adding to brighten them up a bit. I'll be glad when it's all finished though then we can sort the kitchen out.
I noticed a water mark on Sandra's ceiling before so OH went to check the roof, he said he couldn't see any tiles that have slipped so he might have to go into the loft to check in there. Our lagging is about 10 inches thick so it must be quite an amount of water to go through that and mark the ceiling. I hope we don't need a new roof. I'm concerned as the mark is right above Sandra's head when she's in bed. It's only small so I don't think the ceiling will fall on her......well I hope not anyway.

Lovely photo's of the snow Mel and Jane ,if the snow has cleared a bit tomorrow and the path in the churchyard is not to bad i'll see if i can get a photo of the huge icicles hanging from the guttering on the church ,there's so many it's a wonder they haven't pulled the guttering down .
Liz i bet it was nice to see the tap flowing again , Cas is having a nose through the snow just like Max he comes in with it all over his head and a lump of frozen snow in his mouth :-D
I don't think it seems so cold out there now ,it helps that the wind has dropped ,oh it was cold when the wind blew ,you could feel it biting your cheeks .
The stew was good and there's enough for tomorrow .

Lots of snow still here Mel. Several inches on the lawn. But a fair bit has gone from the patio now.I hope the mend on the pipe holds out now. I cant see things freezing up again now .Well lets hope not !
Liz you sound as though you have everything well organised with the water, and i see now yours is back on again :-D :-D
Gill, I am glad you are feeling so much better now .One more day and you can do the rest of the papering :-D :-D
Frank, have the flowers arrived yet at your Sisters? It is quite understandable at the moment with all the snow if things dont arrive on time even though it is annoying .I feel for the delivery people. It must be a heck of a job at the moment for them to get to all the places they need to. We should all be a little warmer tomorrow .At least above freezing :-D
I saw a big Rat earlier this afternoon :-S :-S.It was making its way to underneath the window feeder.I shooed it off but it came back again. I really dont want to see that one again it was quite huge :-S :-S.
Stew and Dumplings sound good Mandy. Fish and Chips here. I thought James was eating out tonight so didnt take anything out of the freezer for him. He now says he is not going but will go and get himself something and will cook whatever it is. I suggested he had a Takeaway but he fancies cooking. If I had known that he could have cooked for us too :-D
Yer the Error thing is a pain ,but just getting on Genes is pain too at the moment.I have to keep back tracking. This has only just started happening for me in the last week.
My Sister has cancelled going to London today ready to see all her children run a half Marathon tomorrow. She and Larry had booked a Hotel for tonight and the dogs were going into Kennels. I think she has made the right decision. We dont even know if the Run is still on.
The boys will have had fun on your old sledge Mel :-D There arent many opportunities for children to get the sledges and trays out. What a pity the video you took was too big to send.
Just seen yours and Liz's photos. Lovely running tap there Liz :-D :-D. It looks like you got away quite lightly with the snow. You had a fair bit there Mel ! It all looks so pretty. Compared to so many other places we too got away lightly even though it didnt feel like it. Warning for Ice here now. It should all be back to normal by next weekend when we drive to London for Hannah's Birthday/Mothers Day
