Oh poor old Cockle ,was he the oldest one of the lot ?
Jane i didn't see much veg reduced in our Tesco's but i did see an Iceburg Lettuce on the shelf with the 27th of Feb date on ,i expect they have been so short staffed they hadn't been checked . Yes the car park was all sloppy brown wet slush ,i shall have to check my boots for white marks from the salt ,it takes some getting off . Oh no poor James i hope he's not held up too long in the cold . I carn't open my emails so i'll have to wait to see " Hat "

We,ve had no snow today and the wind has dropped a bit now too so it dos'nt feel so cold out there. I have still shut all the chickens and bantams in tonight. They both have food and water in their houses.
So there is a couple of you getitng the error page as well as me. Its really getting on my nerves now as I have to wait ages to get on the site and then get the error page and then have to wait again to click on Customer Support and then General Chat and then my bookmark to get to the last page.
Could I ask those of you who are getting it to complain to customer support as they emailed me today to say nobody else has complained about it. If you all do maybe we can get something done about it.

It was just the usual worry of having another LEAK liz LOL As you know wh have had far too many of them over the last few years !!
Well James has left work .... BUT is now stuck . :-S :-S. Not sure if it is an accident or just snow. He can only have gone a couple of miles. He's stuck in Uppingham. Thomas has braved the weather after two attempts LOL .I can't see him being out too long(at least I hope not) So dinner is on hold now until I know James is on the move again.

Sorry about your cockrel Mel. I don't think expect the cold weather did him any good. We like the baked beans with sausages Jane!! We had them for lunch yesterday with microwave potato! Surely it doesn't matter that your showers aren't working , so long as you can have baths!! We haven't got either, and no washing machine till we thaw out!!! Tbh we're just not that bothered so long as we can bucket water and stay warm! it reminds us of when we used to camp and sail a lot, washing then could be a bit hit and miss!! Here comes OH with yet more logs!!! :-D

Still snowing but is more icy snow now :-S Yes Tomas arrived Gill. He did feel cold but is now all toasty on the settee by the fire. I am expecting him to be wanting out again very soon though. Chris is upstairs now watching the shower LOL It has started dripping and the one in the bathroom is coming through more now. Just waiting for full flow now(fingers crossed) It is actually looking a bit misty but its difficult to tell if that is just the snow or not.
Oh dear poor Cockle Mel :-( Do you think it is this weather that finished him off?If he wasnt well anyway it is quite likely I would think. He was quite an old boy wasnt he. I'm glad you changed your mind about doing more papering Gill :-D Best just to get yourself well before tackling anything else.
I noticed in Tesco there awas a lot of reduced veg today. I think so much hadn't sold over the last few days there was just so much and then all the new stock too. So some good bargains. They have changed everything in the medicine isle !!!!!. Its so frustrating when you have known exactly where something has been for years and then you suddenly can't find anything :-S :-S. I thought I was going a bit mad LOL.I was only looking for the Paracetamol and it took me for ever.
So your Tesco car park was the same as ours Mandy :-D All the slush was so mucky and brown. My boots now have those white lines around the toes from the salt.It makes look all mouldy !
James says he is leaving normal time from work.I hope he takes a pic of HAT for me.I did ask him but you know what some men are like ! :-S
Curry for him tonight and Baked Potatoes for us 2. Baked Beans and Grated Cheese for me.B Beans with those nasty slimy little sausages for Chris and grated Cheese.I dont know when I last did Baked Potatoes.
Just sent a pic of HAT
I don't know if our Anne knows about the journeys of HAT

Oh I see Liz, sorry must of got confused, it doesn't take much these days LOL Yes I'm slowly starting to feel a little better although I can't seem to get rid of my sore throat and headache. Hopefully I'll be okay in the next few days. I'm hoping this cold weather will be gone soon as I don't think it is helping. Your OH is doing really well isn't he?
So you've got snow again Jane. Is Thomas back yet? They said we were going to get some snow today, but so far we haven't had any, just this really cold wind that cuts through you. Thankfully I don't have to go out, but OH did, hopefully he won't be out to long.
Is anyone else getting the error page, it's taken me ages to get back on here?

The ice is on the outside of the windows Mandy and Gill, not inside! It was caused by freezing rain, so you can't scrape it from the inside, you'd have to go out to do that, which I'm not!!! Nice to see you back on the thread again Gill, and know that you're feeling better! OH is outside again!! this time sweeping snow out of Merlins stable where its blown in during the day, doing up his feed and hay, checking the water then getting in another basket of logs!!!! For an old boy of 77 with prostate cancer, he hasn't half done well!! I'm really quite proud of him, but don't allow him to get too pleased with himself!!

OH has just said that he thinks our snow is starting to thaw as well Mandy, but the wind is making it feel really cold. Sandra did want to make a snowman but we had to tell her how cold it was in the wind. Had it not been so windy things might have been different but she would freeze within a matter of minutes if she ventured out.
I too remember as a child scrapping the ice of the inside of the windows to see out. Mum and dad had a very old house with no central heating so you can imagine how cold it was inside. We all would huddle around the fire in the living room to keep warm.
Love the photo out of the window with the butterfly on Liz the view is lovely and doesn't Cas look cosy in her crate? It sounds like your OH has been very busy, let's hope he doesn't have to go out to often to do anything else.
Nice to see you back on the thread Anne, hope things are improving for you now.
Sorry to hear both your showers are still not working Jane, I hope when they thaw out you don't have a burst pipe or a leak anywhere. So HAT is having a day out with James today then? Hope they both make it home okay later, the road James is driving on doesn't sound very good. I can imagine your car park at Tesco's is the same as Mandy's and that's why everyone is parked in strange directions. Trying to see the markings for the parking places must be hard.
I might try that recipe Mel, it sounds very similar to the flap jacks I make and Sandra loves those. It's a good job your OH did the lagging in the loft or you might of ended up with frozen pipes. Hope all your live stock are coping okay with the cold weather. Have you seen Mr Fox again?
We've just seen the Heron flying over, it must be hungry to be out in this weather. We noticed Rosie had been here a few times over the last few days by her footprints in the snow, but we kept missing her. Thankfully OH spotted her today so gave her lots of nuts, she ate them really quickly, but has left some of them so hopefully she now has a full belly. We have decided once the snow has gone to swap the table and chairs over with the garden bench so she can climb onto the living room window sill again, at least that way if the weather is bad and we don't notice her again she can come a knocking on the window LOL. I'm pleased OH saw her today as I was getting worried about missing her coming into the garden, she must of thought we didn't care anymore, the poor thing.
Poor OH has had to put a few pot plants back up as they have been blown over with the wind. At one point I had to go out in the snow and help him as the pot was to big and heavy to lift up against the wind. That's when I realised how cold it was.
You all know me very well as I did contemplate finishing off the wallpapering in the living room this morning, but then thought better of it as I'm still not 100% yet. It can wait until I'm fully recovered, there isn't much left to do and doesn't look to bad at the moment. I'm just glad I managed the other three walls before I got ill.

Afternoon all,
That wind cuts right through you ,like you Jane we braved the weather and went to Tesco's to get some bits as we might be in for more snow ,our road was very bad but once we got down to the main road it was nice and clear ,the car park at Tesco's was bad we had no idea if we were between the white lines or not as you couldn't even see them . Since we have been home we can now see the road so there must be a bit of a thaw going on.
Glad your feeling a little better today Gill ,if your snow is like ours it's really fluffy so i don't think it would make a good snowman but i bet Sandra wishes it wasn't so cold so she could get out there to try and make one , just keep in the warm and don't try to do to much to soon .
Liz seeing that ice on your window took me back to years ago when we use to have the ice on the windows when we woke up and we use to scrape a hole in the ice to look out and see what the weather was like outside . Yes give OH a pat on the back for getting things sorted ,he's right a bleak day really sums it up.
I might give that recipe a try Mel i think the children would like them as they like Flap Jacks .
So " Hat " has gone out in the cold with James today :-D i hope his journey home is better than yesterday , did you see all those poor people that have been stranded in their cars over night .
Some of the roads to the villages round about are a bit dicey ,the snow keeps blowing across the roads and blocking them ,a lot of the roads are one track only ,snow ploughs have been out over night but as fast as they clear the road the snow drifts again .

Pat on the back Jane? gold star? He'll be getting a big head!!! Actually I am secretly impressed, and grateful as we would have been really snookered but for his efforts and expertise! You're brave driving in this! gold star for you too! It's snowing hard now and we're watching the PM's speech, interesting!

Afternoon All
I braved the wind and cold this morning and did a trip to Tesco. The main road there is fine as long as everyone just takes it steady. It was heaving there. I think maybe being the beginning of the month a lot of people will have been paid and they certainly were stocking up. Trolleys piled high. The car park was a bit dodgy and cars were parked at some very odd angles LOL taking up more than the one space. I think we are due more snow later this afternoon. Thomas has been out since 5.15 !!!! Heaven knows where he gets too in this. I have put the heater on in the summerhouse so he can pop in there if I dont see him to let him in.
Yes James has gone to work wearing HAT :-D. He sent me couple of seconds video of a road he was travelling on and it looked horrendous.
We can't put insulating foam in as the pipes are not actually bricked in.Just boxed in.The heater is on again in the garage. Still neither shower working this morning.
Thanks for your pics Liz. I too wondered if it was ice on the window . Cas looks cosy in her crate. Ian has done well hasnt he. Maybe a nice pat on the back and a gold star for all his effort :-D :-D
I am glad you are being to feel much better now Gill . Just dont try running before you can walk. We all know what you are like :-D :-D . I think you are right about it being too cold for Sandra to be out making a Snowman. I see Liz's Grandson says it is too cold for even him to make one.
Those biscuits sound good Mel but I dont think I shall be making them. They would be good for kids lunch boxes.
I think I will light the fire now. It's all set ,just needs a match to it. This wind seems to be getting worse again now.It has blown all the snow off the hedges. How are your Girls and Bantoms Mel? Staying warm in their bedrooms I hope. The horses across the road were let out in the field this morning. You should have seen them !!!!! Running, kicking and just having great fun. I was worried they might skid or slip on the icy snow they way they were all prancing around.I did notice that their owners stuck around for quite a while ,probably just keeping an eye on them to make sure there weren't going to be any injuries. Time for the news and some lunch now.

It's freezing rain on the outside of our double glazed windows!! It was where the wind was coming from, the windows at the back weren't affected! It's still very windy here, OH has just taken Cas up to the field for her midday run. She's now lying quietly by the woodburner! Soups on the go, and fish pie is made. We shall have it with rice! OH has just said that its a bleak old day! that just about sums it up!
