Afternoon all,

We took the car for MOT Passed with advisories. BACK TYRES HAVE CRACKS IN WALLS. We went straight to our TYRE man and had TWO new ones fitted. £90.00 the pair including everything. So not bad. There are a couple of other things, that aren't that important. They will be done by our local man as and when.

We stopped off for lunch and I had a couple of pints.Ready for a few zzzz now. Ros wanted to take me for a haircut, but that can wait, in this weather. A few little flurries of snow, but nothing to write home about.

My thought also Mel, it looked so much like an explosion, and one cn only guess it was GAS It took the whole house out of he terrace.

Still very cold, so naturally the hearing is on. Blow the expense, will worry about the cost later. I am not going to sit in the cold.

I do hope you are all keeping warm, an that Gill and Fmily are doing alright.

Most of the snow has gone now the road is all clear and the paths are clear where the sun has caught them ,it's gone off the roof too so that sun has some power ,i think we're still in for some more snow showers this afternoon though.

Well the tops of the wardrobes are now nice and dust free ,i've hoovered all the bedrooms and down the stairs ,stripped the bed and washed the bedding so i've got on quite well , now watching doctors .

Are you all frozen to the spot?

I have been outside defrosting the chicken drinkers. I have only done one in each of the runs as the metal one is so frozen I can't get the top off and if I pour boiling water on it it will only freeze again so I just do the little ones I can get in the sink.

Not so windy today and the suns quite warm when you stand with it on you. There is clouds in the sky but they are mostly white with a grey underneath.

I was just talking to oh about that dreadful fire in Leicester that blew the house down. He said he thinks it could have been a gas explosion as the houses either side were still standing and gas goes up and through the roof. The hsop had only been open since January. 5 killed. So not a good start to their business or the new year. We complain about having colds and flu but it must devistate that family.

Mornig all and Frank,

Yes got your email Frank and come on the thread and there you are!! I keep getting the Error page every time I come back to the thread. It is really getting to me ow and I have to go and click on Customer Support and then are a wait I go to General Chat and then click on my bookmark for this page. Some times I get here sometimes I have to go through the whole proceedure again. I wrote to GR and they just told me to clear my cache. I have windows 10 which does it automaticly.

Very cold here this morning but not a trace of any snow. I coud really do with going to Holsworthy for chicken food and then I know I am ok to stay home for at least two weeks.

Gosh did'nt Shirl have a lot of snow on Valentines Day and I had ordered it for here for my birthday and she got it!! Perhaps its cos she lives on Melanie Ave.

Good morning Mandy. And all,

I sent an email to Mel to say I couldn't get on the thread. Then HERE I AM. !!

We keep seeing the old flake of snow, but nothing like you Mandy.

I was all tucked up before 11.00 pm last night, but stuck it out and didn't get up. Last time I looked at the clock was 2.30 am. Was awake by 7.30. Got up had my TEA

I m all showered and shaved, and already to go off for the MOT around 10.30. It's booked at National Tyres, They do it for half price for previous customers. So that a good saving. I just hope I don't have to spend the savingsPLUS MORE to get it through the MOT.

Madam is in the shower, so needs to get her skates on if we are leaving at 10.30. I will go a defrost the screen, so when she's ready we can be off.

It was a year ago yesterday that I broke my hip!! How time flys, it hardly seems possible!! I'm now waiting to hear from the hospital for an appointment for my final X Ray, what's the betting that I have to chase it!!!
No snow as yet, but it is cold and cloudy so who knows what the day will bring!!!
We too will be spending the day in the warm!

Morning all,

Not much snow over night but since we've been up we've had several really heavy snow showers with huge snow flakes so the ground now has a good half inch covering.
We're not going out any where today we'll just keep in the warm ,we have a few inside jobs to do ,i need Colin to get up on the steps and dust the top of the wardrobes in our bedroom .

We're nice and warm ,we kept the wood burner in last night and the heating is on too .
Hope Gill is ok perhaps we will hear from her today ,there's so many people with this sickness bug .

Did you have another good night Frank . ?

Good evening all

It's been bitterly cold here today, we have had several flurries of snow the last one being the heaviest and had started to lay but it has stopped now.

Colin sent a picture of the view from his St Petersburg hotel room, they had a lot of ground snow there, he's back in Scotland now so there will be more snow.

Like you Jane & Mandy I didn't think Hold the Sunset was very funny either, I do enjoy Mum and 2 doors down. This afternoon on BBC 1 there is a new afternoon series Shakespeare and Hathaway which looks good, although I miss watching The Coroner.

Frank pleased to hear your sister is better than she was, that will be a nice surprise when she receives your flowers,

Just going to watch Only Connect and then University Challenge

We just don't know what we will get snow wise. I think it is a waiting game.It will either go one way or the other !!!. I did see that Rome has come to a stand still due to snow !
Now that must have been a shock there. Trains already being cancelled on the East Coast here. So some are going to get a load of snow ,Maybe just not us Frank.

Scarves on tonight then Mandy after your haircut
:-D. It is really biting out there . Where is Thomas?? Little B***** .
James has just got in so dinner is ready to dish up now :-D.

The Carnations should last a long while Frank. As you say longer than Tulips or Daffs.
Mary will love them :-D

Frank Report 26 Feb 2018 19:01

Hearing the local news, you would think we are going to get a 1946/7 or a 1963 winter. God they are only forecasting FOUR INCHES. By the way they are talking you wold think it's FOUR FOOT. They are referring to Croatia where there is a lot of snow. The amount we have had wouldn't fill a TEACUP.

I heated the lamb from yesterday in gravy, it was more tasty tonight, which we had with Roast Parsnips, Spuds, Brussels cabbage and carrots. Went down a treat and wo empty plates.

Ros slept for a good hour this afternoon. Staying up like she does t night, she needs it.

With Martine finding all this money, they won't need o borrow any off of us. !!!! She's on the phone now, about the funeral arrangements. I will hear about those in a minute.

I have ordered a dozen Carnations for my sister Mary. I think they should last a few days longer than Daffs and Tulips.

That car I mentioned is a 65 plate Late 2007 I think. I will walk down her drive to see if it's an Auto.

Popular this evening. She has just put the phone down to Martine, when Jan rang. They are still chatting, and chatting. Just like most women. !!!!

Back to my book now, as the SOAPS are just starting.

We've had snow showers all day but it hasn't really laid at all ,the sun has been out so i think it's helped to melt it .
The hairdresser rang at lunch time to ask if she could come today instead of tomorrow as she hates driving in the snow, i think the snow should be worse tomorrow , we weren't doing any thing so she came and i'm now all cold round the neck now where she has cut my hair .

We've watched the Shed and Buried programmes ,the other programme we like is the one with Drew Pritchard called Salvage Hunters oh and the Demolition Man programme too .

Jane i didn't think much of that new comedy programme last night ,i thought it was a bit silly ,shame as any thing with Alison Steadman is usually good.

Good idea making James take the snow shovel ,Colin brought ours up from the shed and put it near the back door just in case we have snow in the night and we carn't get out the back door :-0 :-D :-D

I was in there just before you Mel :-D
I always remember the Pannier Market in Bideford. Right up the top . My Aunty Joyce used to go every Tuesday without fail. She loved buying things off the Second Hand Antique stall. There was a Bakers there somewhere where she bought some kind of Baps (I am going to ring Janice to find out what they were actually called)

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 26 Feb 2018 18:11

Jane if the tulips still look good you could try putting a pin through the stem just under the flower and cut a bit off the end of the stem and put them up to their necks in water.

My birthday valentine roses have opened up a treat and still look good.

I am sure your sister will be pleased with her flowers Frank. All us ladies like our flowers.

I have two big daffs out in the orchard and a pot of little ones out by my shed.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 26 Feb 2018 18:03

YOu sound well into your latest book Frank. I.m pleased you're enjoying it.

Got home just after 3pm I think. I had'nt looked at my watch. I had so much stuff it took me ages to pack it all away. Then half way through I noticed the kittle wild birds feeding like crazy so I went out and fill all their feeders up. They can,t go to bed on empty stomachs in this weather. The robins have been fighting over the mealworms too. I really could do with some chicken food but we will see how it looks tomorrow. Its funny going shopping on a Monday. Much busier which is why I now go on a Tuesday as that market day up the pannier market so the shops seem quieter.

Woner if Mandy's snow carried on. Perhaps we will hear from her later.

Where's our Jane too.

Liz we watch Shed and Buried. Have done for a long while but now we keep seeing repeats. They aught to come here as we have plenty of stuff they would like.

I know its going to be cold because my hands have gone all dry again. they always do it when it going to be REALLY cold. Sometimes they are better than the forcast. :-S
